At some point we reached an extinction level event for big men. The closest to bigs now are Brock and Oba, but they aren't really bigs. How do we get big men back in our sport?

>>20137378I do admit that it's strange. Growing up during this era, I remember the first time I saw a small wrestler was Rey Mysterio Jr. Than Eddie Guerrero. They were great at the sport, sure, but they were definitely outliers. And then you had guys like Benoit, who even though were small, were muscled up dudes. Now a'days, everyone is like 5'10" to 6'1". They just needed to keep the cruiserweight division and heavyweight divisions.

Here are some issues from my perspective1. The two bookers of the biggest American promotions, Triple H and Tony Khan, seem to love shorter and less muscular wrestlers. They seriously love workrate guy’s compared to guys with more simple moves but better physiques2. The guys that Triple H has pushed that are well built all have asterisks next to them. For example, Drew McIntyre won the WWE belt and was made to look a fool for the past 2 years and even during his title reign he looked stupid, Randy Orton is getting a big spot at wrestlemania but he’s ancient and most definitely isn’t winning the belt, The only tall guy that got a belt and wasn’t made to look like a retard was Damian Priest and he sucks dick (probably literally as well), also there’s Gunther who still gets you tapped out chant’s because he tapped out to fucking Jey Uso which is embarrassing and has hurt his career tremendously, no one takes him seriously like they did during his IC title run which leads to my next point.3. Having to have serious 20 minute matches (losing as well) against guys who weigh 180-220 while you are 280 and above 6’3 is seriously damaging to your image. I know smarks like saying losses don’t matter but in my opinion that is bullshit depending on the opponent’s. If Goldberg had to lose a bunch of his early matches against some cruiserweight manlets on Nitro he’d never have gotten over the way he did.4. If you’re a big guy who’d potentially be interested in wrestling, would you really want to join when you’re seeing guys your size getting beat up by half pints when the reality is you could kill them with your bare fists, I personally wouldn’t.Anyways that’s my dogshit opinion that means nothing ultimately, have a nice day.

Low center of gravity for greater balance and maneuverability and far greater in ring longevity due to less weight on legs and hip. This is why smaller guys can usually still wrestle into their 60s and bigger guys have trouble walking by 40.Wrestlers aren’t all supposed to be Supermen. This was done purely to capture the female audience and gays went along for that ride.Sammartino was 5’10”. Big men are supposed to be very rare spectacles, not the norm.
