>the road to 'mania 40we have to go back, bros...
Cody Orton is good but we really need a resolution to the Rock Cody storyline
>>20138950Overrated piss garbage>INHALES>MAMA RHODES>MAMA RHODES>WHEEZES>MAMA RHODESThis shit sucked ass
>>20138950I actually never need to see Dwayne on my TV ever again.
We needed every movie of his to bomb like black adam so the final boss could stay
>>20138950dronies for years cried over AEW swearing occasionally, and then filled their pants with shit and cum because Dwayne said the fuck-word on twitter
>>20138992Rock really came back then single-handedly propelled the company to be set up for a new golden era then left. He's the goat and you are a bitter white cuck.
>>20138950OHHHHHH MAMA ROADS
>>20138950The build to mania 40 was pretty much universally shat on as it was happening
>>20139069100% false
>>20138950>What can I say except you're welcome?
>>20138950This feud proved without a shadow of a doubt that no one, not even The Rock, could get over in modern day with modern day restrictions.
>>20139090The op image was the sole outlier but you can't gaslight me I lived it
>>20139094I lived it too. There were jokes made about a number of holes in the story, but the Rock's contributions on the shows and on social media were praised on /pw/ more than anything I've ever seen with one exception. That one exception was what happened at the close of Elimination Chamber '25... so Rock again.
>>20139069all the shit like >but not at wrestlemaniawas definitely shat on, but I would say that people came around after that press conference where rock slapped cody
>>20139112You are both trying to gaslight. The angle was loved from the press conference after.Rock was dragged kicking and screaming into doing it, then excelled at it, then mysteriously tried to backpedal all of it and tell everyone it was fake and he was friends with Cody, then try to restart the angle in random instances, then he ruined WM41 by setting something up and disappearing.
>>20139112holy fucking headcanon, please see a doctor
>>20139140Rock nearly ruined WrestleMania until there was so much outrage that Triple H was allowed to fix it. Rock succeeded in ruining the main event of 41. Hopefully he will never be seen again, and 42 will be great.
>>20139184Don't worry, he's on the other end of the line with Randy. Maybe this time his plan is to not even actually appear and just do phonecalls. It's gonna be litty
>>20138950I have to admit, whatever The Rock is mad about, in this instance he's probably right.
Rock's only coming back with Drew McIntyre. McIntyre has to go do a movie after WM42, so he must be written off with a loss to Nick Aldis, which will pave the way for McIntyre to take his hiatus.and only then, McIntyre must not return until he returns with The Rock, and become The Rock's handpicked Chosen One, which makes perfect sense because Rock was the guy that re-signed McIntyre to a new WWE contract and gifted him that giant sword.beyond that, I think McIntyre apparently picked a side between the Triple H-Rock backstage beef, and McIntyre chose to kick it with The Rock over Hunter and his favorites.
>>20138950Roman is on Fallon tonight promoting Mania and nobody is talking about it. It's like the build is white noise this year
>>20139211Probably because you refuse to make a thread and expect others to do it for you? Anyway, everybody is loving Cody Orton and Brock Oba, maybe Roman should step up his feud?
>>20139211The build is great.
>>20139180>The angle was loved from the press conference afterThat press conference was in early February just as the WWE began to present their Mania storylines on television. This allowed them to quickly pivot from the Rock vs Roman plan to the "finish the story" plans they went with. So you agree with me that the build to WM40 was "loved" and not "universally shat upon" as the other anon said. The rest of your reply addresses what happened after WM40, which no one else brought up. Stop trying to gaslight yourself into believing you don't simply agree with me and not that whiny homo.
When Cody writes his inevitable book, I am very eager to read his perspective on what was going on behind the scenes leading up to 40 and 41.
>>20139223My point is that it's not all thanks to the Rock as if it was his plan. His plan was a dogshit feud with Roman based around a chart of their kayfabe family, and that was at the expense of Cody, who the company was actually depending on. That didn't pan out so he was forced to do something different and that was giga kino then he went full retard again the first chance he got. Build to WM40 and the event itself is some of the best shit ever and the logical conclusion was Rock Cody and I'm still waiting.
>>20139211/pw/ is full of cocksuckers who cry and derail every thread, who the fuck would make a serious thread here300 replies about how Fallon is a pedophile, or how everyone who hates Fallon is a pedophile, sounds like a great time
>>20139211>Roman is on Fallon tonight
>>20139239Fine then. We're still largely in agreement. The small bit we disagree over is in how much we can fault the Rock over ideas he had that were never realized. Once he committed to the new plan for WM40, he was far and away the most powerful performer involved. His absence is now deeply felt because no active wrestler can come close to matching him. He even took what, on the face of it, is an absurdly silly storyline about claiming a man's soul and made it into one of the best segments ever broadcast. We'd have to move too far off topic to go any deeper. Suffice it to say that I'm convinced that some totally unforeseen set of circumstances emerged following Elimination Chamber that forced Rock off TV and out of WM41 contrary to any of their intentions.
>>20139293I think you're underselling how good Cody was in the feud and the weird chemistry they had. Hard to imagine the storyline working as well with anyone else and they were peak when on screen together. Cody milking little things, like when Rock asks for his soul and he says 'I want it all, Rock' and the look on his face and shit was so good.
You know remember Dwaynes family tree reveal he hyped up as something epic
>>20139242From the top rope with style
>>20139044Rock fucking sucks ass. His fragile ego ass came back because hollywood doesn't want him, made everyone put his ass over, and then left. Fuck that guy
>>20139420You also now remember he was kinda thinking he could win the crowd back over during said conference and only decided to commit to being heel after they kept shitting on his epic chart
>>20139424Lots of highspots tonight >>20139423
>>20139211This AEWtist is hatewatching Jimmy FallonMotherfucker nobody gives a shit about late night talk shows in 2026. We all know when Wrestlemania is
>>20139436Why are you so angry at a harmless comment? Grow up.
>>20139211Everyone please stop hating on this guy
>>20139211thats cool, he shouldve been around the start of the feud to promote instead of leaving Punk to do all the work
WALKING CLOWN EMOJI SETH ROLLINS
>>20139652>Completely falls flat>He was relying on that epic Gerwirtz line to get a chant going but it doesn't, so he says the line AGAIN>Falls flat AGAIN>Seffmeister hits him with the Diarrhea Dwayne line>Crowd erupts in chants
My favorite part was when rock came out and said it was all just a story and he didn't really hate codesterJust epic storytelling
>>20139211idk why this triggered people so much since we did watch it when they were on in 2024
>>20139211Nobody besides boomers watch late night shows. Even AEW outdraws them.
>>20139974WWE never recovered desu
>>20139211Nobody watches The Tonight Show. It usually falls third in the ratings behind Jimmy Kimmel now.
>>20139215ok fine which builds should i watch on youtube
>>20140541Cody Orton, Jelly Kit rap battle, Oba Brock, Finn Dom
>>20140541they'll eventually parse them into a longform "story of" video before mania so just wait
