It was just an excuse to get rid off him. The Cornette debacle happened because Aries was injured and working as a manager in recovery but getting high talent pay, Cornette stupidly thought he was just a manager at that point and wanted to cut his pay - and Austin didn't obviously like the pay cut even though the company was struggling and he wasn't worth as much as a manager for the show.

I liked Aries during the Gen Next run and his 07-08 years in ROH which is funny because he didnt start the greatest man gimmick with Weezer as his entrance song until 2009
