Not worth the injury risk.Not worth the travel costs.Not worth the booking venue costs.Not worth the stage/setup costs.Not worth the local marketing costs.Not worth having to pay the talent more.Not worth being away from family more.The ONLY benefits from doing house shows are 1) more time for talent to practice spots and develop chemistry in order to (theoretically) put on better matches when the TV and PLE lights are brighter, 2) develop better camaraderie, friendships and working relationships with your coworkers, and 3) meet a few more fans in smaller markets/venues. The WWE has decided those 3 benefits aren’t worth all the negatives in my first list.And I mean, that’s fine. Whatever. But they’re willingly making a trade off, knowing those 3 things will suffer. They’re admitting that they’re ok with 1) more botches and worse match quality (which may actually lead to more injuries than simply doing house shows would’ve), 2) they’re ok with less camaraderie and rapport between coworkers, and 3) they’re ok with not reaching more fans.
