>>20148697Even during the peak of the attitude era, Raw, Smackdown, and Nitro were never close to the highest rated shows on TVhttp://www.thetvratingsguide.com/1991/08/1999-2000-ratings-history.htmlSeemingly the only reason Smackdown wasn't cancelled was because it did better than anyhting else UPN did at the time
>>20148707UPN was in a fraction of the homes compared to the other networks. 4.7 million was a huge rating by UPN standards. There's a reason Smackdown is the only UPN show on this whole list.
>>2014869721 is literally in the WWE HOF.

Wrestling fans are fucking retarded
It's a tough sell. If you want to see real fighting, there's boxing and now MMA. If you want to see real sports, there's a million choices. If you want to see theater, tv/movies/plays/politicians do it better. But it can be a lot of different things, it's on every week forever, you can interact with the stars in person and in theory, it's sole purpose is to entertain you.
>>20148697Based big dimes Regis
>>20148731Yeah, are any of those other UPN numbers as high as 4.7 million? Star Trek: Voyager was supposed to be the flagship show of the whole network and was well behind Smackdown. Pretending Smackdown was on the verge of cancellation is simply a lie.
>>20148731Oh sheeeeeeit, I think I remember liking The Parkers.
>>20148697Wrestling was popular with kids and young adults, not the entire adult population. Anyways if you were alive in 1999 tell me what felt more relevant wrestling or Stark Raving Mad? King of the Hill or Providence?
