I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with the way people talk about Je'Von like he's some potential future face of the company. You can take one look at him and the way he carries himself and instantly realise that he will never be anything more than a midcarder. He will never draw a dime. He will never main event mania. He is a complete and utter shitter and the sooner he bounces onto his neck and suffers a career ending injury, the better.

>oba's a safe bet
dude fucking sucks the air out of the room. brock is the draw
>>
>>20157459
I can see something there. Right now he's in the rookie kid living the dream phase. If he could bulk up a bit, cut out a lot of the flips, he might be something.

Brock isn't going to be around forever. Oba's a big part of the future and he gets big reactions to his entrance, to his moves. Brock's making him look good right now before he beats him at Mania.
>>
>>20157502
he’s already put on mad muscle since he arrived, watch his NXT debut
he also doesn’t really do many flips for a high flyer anyway, he moreso glides
>>
>>20157459
>>20157476
It all makes a lot more sense when you remember DEI forces them to push for these blacks. They're all shitters, they're all going to be forgotten once the next "big deal" black pops up in NXT. They said Carmello was money, and he's gotten no pops in the like 3 years he's been in the main roster, give the other blacks they're hyping up (including Obama) a few months and they'll be getting crickets.

Wrestling is the White man's territory.
>>
>>20157532
Nah, Brock is definitely not going over at Mania, the whole point is making Oba, especially since he hasn't had any real matches on the main roster, Brock gets nothing out of this win, he can lose all his matches, then be given a world championship, and no one would bat an eye.
>>
>>20157532
>he gets big reactions to his entrance, to his moves.
Like Apollo Crews, The Shit Profits, Carmelo Hayes, etc did?
>>
>>20157562
>Brock gets nothing out of this win
Brock gets nothing, but WWE letting Oba win gets million (AND MILLIONS) of the fans tuning out.

imo fans have a shitty perception on the future. When Jevon gets hurt and wrestles an eighth of the speed he does now, which will happen because he's not the first or last flippy shitter to slow down after injuries, they'll realize he has nothing else going for him
Until then they think he's gonna wrestle the way he does forever.

entrance pops nowadays don't mean shit, fans love to clap and sing along. Nowadays there's a lot of wrestlers who are over only due to their entrances and can't pop the crowd after that.

Je'von is like 20 and is the one of the best flippy guys in the company.
It's like WWE getting Rey Jr. before he destroyed his body and reputation in WCW, the potential is off the charts

The walk is a nice bit but he needs to not do it on certain segments
Like when he came out to face Brock and started doing his fucking meme walk, it just felt goofy
Keep it for real matches or it just comes across like a fucking autisttic tic

And then people pop hugely for Oba in the ring. Your point, sissy?
>>
>>20157599
someone with "miz potential" isn't going to be "the next huge thing"
when cody says that, it's because he sees himself in kit, after all who knows better about transforming from comedy midcarder to The Guy than cody?

People look back to the early 2000s and expect every generation to have a big ensemble cast of megastars floating around the top. But the reality is it'll just be one guy, and he's probably not even around yet.
You pick a tippy top guy you carefully run through a gauntlet of special attraction gimmicks and part-timers who were on top last generation. That's your main event scene. Below that, you test the waters for the next tippy top guy. When you find him, you book him against the current top guy. Sometimes you have to pivot and do something unexpected and that's when the magic happens.

He'll be a beloved midcarder. Loved by the people, but never the guy. Loved when he's out doing silly zoomer shit and bouncing around, but they'll never specifically buy tickets to see him.

I don’t know that I agree fans will tune out, lol. But I DO think it’s better for Brock to beat Oba at this Mania.

Any number of stories have been told where the “obvious favorite with the momentum” gets crushed at Mania. Most recently maybe Cody losing to Roman at WM39 when many likely thought that was the “finish the story” year and then we had to wait another whole year for that payoff at WM40. Which, in retrospect, I think fans would agree that wait was “worth it.” It was a great moment at WM40.

Brock Oba kinda feels like that. Like it’s too soon. I agree with those who say Brock is putting Oba over NOW, during this build up. But once Mania comes, I think Brock can still squash Oba without any damage to Oba.

That’s how I’d book it. Heel booker HHH will probably book Brock to win too.

But of course, that all hinges on how much longer Brock wants to hang around to tell the story of Oba eventually beating him. If he’s looking to do a hometown retirement at SummerSlam in Minneapolis (since he’s a big Minnesota guy), then I guess they could do the rematch there and have Oba beat him.

Pretty quick turnaround, though. Not much time for a story between WM and SS. Then again, Paul Heyman would be the one telling it, so they could probably pull it off and make it feel earned.

If it were me, I’d book Brock to win WM, I’d book Brock to also win SS (if he’s not retiring), and then I’d have Oba win the 3rd match somewhere.

>Which, in retrospect, I think fans would agree that wait was “worth it.”
I disagree wholeheartedly. Cody lost to Roman and then Roman disappeared into the win and then Cody basically did champ shit without the belt. It was very transparent that Cody SHOULD have won because his following storylines before he circled back to coconut nigger bullshit only made sense IF he was champ. Remember when Lesnar came out the RAW after mania and beat the fuck out of Cody for apparently no reason? If he was champ, not would make perfect sense. All of WWE booking basically spin it's wheels for a year until they could correct their mistake
>>
>>20161748
So…you’re right. haha

Right that the aftermath and most of that following year was a lot of trash, which The Rock almost fucked up, too, btw.

I suppose I was choosing to forget all that and skip ahead to the payoff at WM40 which was, IMO, a really great moment.

>Kit Wilson
Nope. Everything about him from his entrance to his look to the way he wrestles screams midcarder for life. Who are you put him over against realistically? He's Tyler Breeze if Breeze had actually been given a chance
>>
>>20157459
realistically, I see Jevon in the same position as Sami. A fan favorite midcarder that occasionally appears in the main title scene.

People don't seem to understand that being a successful midcarder on the biggest show in the world is more 'making it' than being the main champ of wrestling show that runs casa Bonita as a venue

>>20161959
guy is fit and somewhat young. He's been good at what he does and I support his rise over all the nogs they've been pushing

>>
>>20157459
jevon's ceiling is jeff hardy level
>>
>>20163631
I agree with all this, but I just don’t see his current gimmick getting sustainably over. At best, it’s an El Grande Americano thing where it’s supposed to be a parody but he seizes the opportunity and turns it into an actual thing that they can get a year out of.

But still, a year is only a year. Even as good as Ludwig has been, EGA isn’t gonna be a long term thing in WWE. (In AAA maybe! But not WWE.)

Same for this toxic, feminist, pastel colored schtick they’ve got Kit Wilson doing. It’s fun for now. But if they really think Sam Stoker (real name) has potential (and he does, btw), they’re gonna have to move him outta this gimmick.
>>
>>20157459
He is great in ring but is a mediocre to poor promo. Entrances and promos matter the most in pro wrestling. You need the audience to care about your actions.

Tyler Breeze had a faggot face. Kit looks zesty at worst and is a blue-eyed pantie dropper. If they turn him into some soft boi gone rouge like pretty boy, tough guy Leon I too would drop my unwashed boxers for him
>>
>>20163954
I could see Kit becoming a male problem Karen, echoing every retarded thing people get upset about on social media and getting over as well. Running with it long term. I never expected to be this high on one of the dudes from Pretty Deadly but the guy has it. Seems like he would work with whatever material they give him. I hope it works out.

Why? Are you that insecure over black men that they make you stop watching something you enjoy just be appearing? Why are you pretending black people haven't been a part of wrestling since before you were born?

the audience does care about him, and it's due in large part to his authentic promo style. he comes off naturally affable unlike many other wrestlers that play themselves who are just boring people.
