Just finished Night 1 of the Champion Carnival. Damn good show. Daisuke Sekimoto vs Yuma Aoyagi and Yuma Anzai vs Go Shiozaki are the must watch matches of the night. A surprising amount of blood in this show between Sato having a bloody mouth, Sekimoto scraping his head open by accident, and Shiozaki busting his nose. Sekimoto getting bloody then getting back in the ring to a monster pop from the crowd will definitely be one of my favorite moments of the year. You can tell Go Shiozaki is really motivated too though I'm sure NOAH saying he can't handle doing a N1 last year may have played a role in that. The only weak match on the whole card was Xyon vs Hideki Suzuki but it's so short it doesn't suck too much energy out of the show overall. If the rest of the Carnival is this year this will easily blow last year's Carnival out of the water.

Just finished Night 2 of the Champion Carnival. Go Shiozaki vs Kento Miyahara was easily the best match of the night and at this rate I think Shiozaki could be considered the MVP of the Carnival because I love his aggression in this. Kikuta vs Honda I had high hopes for but I feel like it was a bit slow in many parts and I've seen way better matches out of both guys but it was still decent. Sekimoto vs Suzuki was a decent palate cleanser match after watching Odyssey vs Rei Saito that wasn't that great. As for Xyon vs Ren Ayabe I feel like Ayabe had a good showing but much like his last match Xyon was struggling a bit. In terms of the juniors I worry Dan and Seigo are going to face each other in multiman matches so many times it's not going to be as interesting when they finally do have the title defense.

Just finished Night 3 of the Champion Carnival. Damn good show. Better than Night 2. Kento Miyahara vs Yuma Anzai was the best match and I think I might've liked it better than their match earlier in the year. Yuma Aoyagi vs Ryuki Honda was my other favorite and this match had Honda doing more of what I was hoping he'd do than the Kikuta match he had yesterday. To my pleasant surprise though all of the matches were pretty good at least. I went into Odyssey vs Kuma expecting the worst but Odyssey looked better tonight than yesterday. Ren Ayabe vs Hideki Suzuki had the two constantly spiting each other and I love it. Go Shiozaki vs Talos was pretty good too. Wasn't as good as Go's last two matches but it was one of Talos' better singles matches. Seeing the crowd was also interesting since it seems having Kikuta in the Carnival is bringing out a decent amount of Dragon Gate fans so that has to be helping Carnival ticket sales.

Jun Saito had to drop the rest of the Carnival due to an eye injury. On the interesting side at least AJPW is bringing in Yuya Aoki to do matches to make up for Saito being out which should be cool since Aoki is still plenty young and who knows whether AJPW tries to make a play for him or not.
