this is the first wrestlemania ever where there is no actual buildup/booking/writing for most of its matchesno, context is not "writing".
>>20211883It’s almost like Tony khan is booking this. Makes you think
Many are saying this.
>>20211883"We tell stories""It's what we do"Every other show on TV would be canceled if they tried to tell a bland, boring, nonsensical story in 1-10 minute segments, once a week on a 3 hour show. The pacing is bad. The story is bad. The writing is bad. The acting is bad. This applies to every story at the moment
>>20211883WM32 was the pinnacle of "just whatever" booking
>>20212052At least Naitch was on the card
>>20211883Nigga stop with these low effort concern trolling. Every person who has watched WWE knows every WM build is like this. This one is actually better than the last few years in terms of build outside the 4 world title matches. Dom finn, drew fatu, the 6 man match, brock oba, like what are you fucking talking about. I dont understand this complaint at all.
>>20212221mayb you have autism or smthn and stuff like subtext is too abstract for you. your examples have nothing to do with writing
>>20212221I'm sorry you enjoy absolute bottom of the barrel slop
>>20211883Welcome to the smark era of the WWE, did people forget what Levesque’s vision was in NXT? “Bangers” was his entire philosophy- the Vince McMahon era of storytelling maybe be long and gone
>>20212221>every WM build is like thisLMAO. Zoomers have no idea how bleak things are.
>>20212223You are a retarded smark who literally will eat Vince's shit to pretend current WWE is the worst it's been but it doesn't fool anyone and just makes you look like a hypocrite to anyone who actually watched WWE in the past>>20212223I dont watch AEW. No 10k for Kenny's title match in Canada? Kek so much for the pendulum.
>>20212235you're a a bit deranged and incoherent lil guy
Remember WM32? That was bleak compared to this
>>20212248Ok but you are still a smark crying about a show you are gonna hate watch because you have no life outside of watching wrestling
>>20212235I've been watching since the late 1980s. I wouldn't say WWE is the worst it's ever been, but it's close. Worst was the covid era and a little before that. But this era is close. It's all corporate, sanitized garbage that injects C-grade celebrities that have limited pop culture reach. And the work is over rehearsed and clearly cooperative, with nearly every match following the same basic formula with many of the same spots (suicide dives are utter shit). Selling as an art is dead. Wrestling is dead. It's just a stunt show for zoomers with no attention span who apparently forget that the matches are the same shit even on the same damn event.
>>20212249>>20212052I think you guys are mistaking "writing" with "Good matches" wm 32 was roman reigns vs triple h whose buildup was the authority stuff and basically vince trying to re-tell the austin angle vs the mcmahons but with a different cast, reusing the same dynamic to try and get roman over andre the giant memorial battle royalrock vs the wyatt guyare the only matches with actual 0 writing
>>20212289I get your point, but to be fair to the other commenters, the stories in WM 32 sucked. Roman vs Authority was terrible and nobody wanted to see it. Big Dog Roman was a dismal failure and he only ever got over thanks to Paul Heyman and, to a lesser extent, Sami Zayn.
>>20211883Is an anon shows up at the last moment to say the matches for wrestlemania have no build up episode
It's kinda wild that a mid card match like Finn vs Dom is the one with the most storied build.
