What will be the best match of Night 1?
>>
>>20268742
Probably Gunther and Seth but Steph and Liv will be fun.
>>
>>20268742
Seff vs Walter as long as Seff dies in the ring.
>>
I don't know and won't be watching to find out
>>
>>20268742
The marquee graphics for the multi-person matches really look like shite.
>>
Cody vs Randy is just a normal match and is overshadowed by an atrocious story.

Liv vs Vaquer might surprise people.

Seth vs Gunther likely has both guys wanting to go out and try to steal the show.

Becky vs AJ will be decent at absolute best.

Multi women tag lol

Drew vs Fatu will just be another same hardcore spot match

Six man tag will likely be fun and a showcase for Logan and speed.

All in all, I think the six man or Seth/Gunther will be best.
>>
>>20268742
Liv vs Vaq and LoGOAT
>>
>>20268742
the only good match on this card is gonna be Jacob vs Drew. All the rest is gonna go from meh, to dogshit, to SUPER DOG SHIT THE DRIZZLING SHITS WHO THE FUCK BOOKED THESE TWO WORLD TITLE MATCHES, WERE THEY HIGH????
>>
>>20268742
>Cody vs Randy
Boring dogshit with finisher spam and Pat McAfee
>Liv vs Vaquer
Potential to be good, but Liv is going to have to work really hard to keep up. The intensity is there for the storyline, match just needs to keep that intensity.
>Seth vs Gunther
Probably match of the night, but heatless banger tier
>Becky vs AJ
Easily worst match of the weekend. Can't miss Trainwreck kino
>Multi women tag
Some are calling it "The Greatest Piss Break of All times"
>Drew vs Fatu
Bland "hardcore" match. 7/10 likely
>Six man tag
Unfiltered slopamania
>>
>>20268742
what a grim fucking card
holy shit
shan't even watch the highlights

Night 1 Predictions (1/5):

>Uso’s & LA Blight v Logan, Jannetty & Speed

First match to kick everything off, free on ESPN2, this feels like an easy call. Speed being cursed will lead to bad luck for the Vision. Yeets win with Logan taking the pin to setup a future singles feud with whoever pins him (Jey or LA). Special run-in by Danhausen at some point to uncurse Speed. Lots of fun, hyjinks, and shenanigans to show new viewers WWE isn’t afraid to be a silly spectacle that simply makes you shake your head and smile.

>Drew v Fatu

Also free on ESPN2, now we shift to the opposite end of the spectrum to remind new viewers that WWE isn’t afraid to play it dead serious either. I’m not sure how an “unsanctioned match” is different from a “street fight,” but originally I thought they might try to have this spill out onto the Vegas Strip (which would be DIMES to see Drew and Fatu beating each other up in front of the fuckin Luxor in broad daylight with camera crews following and random tourists looking like WTF). But Allegiant Stadium isn’t exactly “on” the strip, so the logistics of that wouldn’t work, lol. What they COULD do is go up on the roof of Allegiant and fight with the whole strip as the backdrop. They already kinda setup “fighting and falling from a high place” with that silly balcony spot a couple weeks ago. I say they fight all over the arena and then the match ends outside on the roof with Fatu winning, at sunset, with the Strip in the background and some fuckin kino drone shots.

Night 1 Predictions (2/5):

>Rollins v Gunther

Feels like neither of these guys should lose clean, so it’ll either be an interference-based loss, or a no-decision DQ. There’s no story between Gunther and Seth, so this match only exists to setup the next stories for each. In Seth’s case, that’s John Wick vengeance on The Vision, and in Gunther’s case, that appears to be getting Paul Heyman to facilitate a match to retire Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam in MN. I agree with the speculation that Bron Breakker and/or Bronson Reed probably make an appearance here. In short, I don’t think the outcome of this match really matters, but I’ll say Gunther “wins” due to some sort of interference that costs Seth.

>Becky v AJ

It’s a better story if Becky wins this clean. They’ve done the parody Trump heel character with Becky lately (it’s not just me saying it…), but I think that’s run its course. It worked when she and Seth were kinda doing the same flamboyant overexaggerated heel stuff together, but now that Seth has gone full serious John Wick, I think they should use this as an opportunity to make Becky a “serious” heel again. The AJ Lee nostalgia tour seems to be fading anyway, and she’s remarkably terrible on the mic. I think they should pull the plug on AJ now before it gets more stale. The future is better if we see Big Bad Becky with the belt and they develop another face to feud with her. But… if Jessika Carr is the ref, it feels like that needs to payoff at some point. I think they book Becky to win. But I doubt it’s clean. And then they do another rematch at Backlash, which no one will want to see. And that’s where we’ll get the Jessika Carr ref-to-wrestler face turn. God help us.

What a shit card.

Night 1 Predictions (3/5):

>Women’s Fatal 4-Way Tag Match

There are a dozen ways this could go, lol. Originally, I imagine the idea was for the Bellas to win, but then Nikki’s foot injury derailed that buildup, and they’ve been giving the buildup to Bayley and Lyra instead, so it kinda FEELS like Bayley and Lyra could win as the dark horse surprise. Sounds like Nikki will still be in the match tonight, though, but the Paige run-in speculation could be real if they have real limits on Nikki and she “quickly reinjures her foot” toward the start of the match. I don’t know if that still ends in a Reunited Divas Win scenario somehow? Charlotte and Lexi are still, unexpectedly, very over as a likeable tag team. I don’t think fans are tired of them yet, but it doesn’t really advance a story to have them win, does it? I don’t think they need the belts. Personally, I think Lash Legend is the next big thing in the women’s singles division, and (like Logan Paul), it’s only a matter of “when” creative wants to pull the plug on the tag team stuff and dive into the singles run. I don’t think they’ve done enough with her character to start that run just yet, so I’m gonna say Lash and Nia retain. (Though, I could also see them going ahead and giving it to Bayley and Lyra because 1) belts really would boost them, and 2) it gets the belts back on Raw, which better sets up the Bella’s angle they wanted to do anyway.) They could do something like Charlotte blindsides Lash, allowing Bayley to pin Lash. Then at Backlash, you’ve got Lash looking for revenge against Charlotte and the Bellas fighting for the belts against Birdley. Ultimately, dozens of options in this one.

Night 1 Predictions (4/5):

>Vaquer v Liv

This certainly FEELS like a Liv Morgan victory is brewing, which normally means HHH will swerve the other way, lol. Honestly, I’m warming up to this feud more than I thought I would, and think it’s just getting started. Which means, it almost doesn’t matter who wins tonight because I think the ongoing story can work either way. Steph’s 6-month title run hasn’t exactly been memorable (forgettable matches with Tiffy and Nikki Bella, and the Raquel feud only seemed to be setting up this Liv feud). But now that we’re here, I think this has legs. If Liv wins, we get to see Steph as the chaser for awhile, which is fine. If Steph wins, I definitely think Liv still makes a great scorned heel who will only be more entertaining as she gets angrier and angrier. Point being, I don’t think creative can lose with this one. My guess… I think they’ve been telegraphing an end to the Judgement Day for awhile, and I like the idea of Liv losing because of something that Raquel or Roxanne do, either on purpose or accidentally. It’s probably a more fun story for a furious Liv to lose and finally payoff the inevitable Judgement Day disbanding, setting up increased tensions with Raquel and Roxy which can play into the ongoing feud with Steph. Vaquer retains and Liv goes ballistic.

Night 1 Predictions (5/6):

>Cody v Orton

The only thing I’m 100% sure of on this entire card is that Randy Orton is winning, lol. There is 0% chance Cody wins this match, for a whole host of reasons.

First, for shoot business, there’s no way TKO and ESPN are going to allow their biggest crossover star to “never be heard or seen again in wrestling.” McAfee’s show is huge right now. Him being part of the wrestling universe is why that ESPN/WWE partnership happened in the first place, and when McAfee made him “leaving forever” the stakes of this match, it sealed the deal that Randy was winning, because fucking obviously Pat McAfee isn’t leaving wrestling right now. Spring/Summer are good downtimes for his schedule until his Gameday responsibilities start in late August. Whatever “save the business” angle they’re playing can probably run through Backlash to SummerSlam before it wraps up.

Plus, McAfee is a great heel. He talks for 3 hours everyday, so he’s obviously a fantastic promo. He actually does know and love wrestling, and fans know he’s doing this heel thing with a wink, so it creates a fun “love to hate him” type atmosphere.

We also know that, in both shoot and kayfabe lore, McAfee is aligned with both Roman Reigns and The Rock. Before the Rumble, Roman was infamously on Pat’s show shooting about how the young guys (*cough —Bron Breakker) were fumbling and the business needed him back. The Rock tried to inject himself into the main storyline of WM40 because he didn’t think Cody could carry it. There are a LOT of great opportunities to unite Orton, McAfee, Roman, and The Rock as an NWO-type faction that’s trying to save the business from these midcard dimeless shitters like Punk and Cody until someone, anyone, from the next generation can step up and become the Ruler …but more on that tomorrow.
>>
Night 1 Predictions (6/6):

A Cody win gets no one talking, puts no one over, will likely get booed in the arena, and does nothing to advance any storyline. In fact, it’s a story killer. Cody wining is the equivalent of saying “no” during an improv sketch. It just derails everything that they’ve now put in motion. Randy Orton has nowhere to go after losing. McAfee apparently has to leave the business. And Cody becomes even more hated for winning again.

Had it just been about Randy v Cody, mentor v mentee, legacy v legacy, then sure, you could’ve had Cody win to tell the story of the student beating the teacher or some sappy shit. But the minute they (wisely) decided no one would give a fuck about that, they injected McAfee and made this match about “saving the business,” which changed the direction entirely and MUST payoff with an Orton victory so they can keep telling that story. It also gives Cody a better chance to explore a Homelander angle in the months ahead about “who he needs to be” to remain the top guy, which Stephanie McMahon herself helped to setup.

Prediction: Randy wins fairly clean. Jelly Roll takes a few bumps to setup the Backlash tag match. And an outside chance the Rock comes out to visibly align himself with McAfee and Orton at the end.

Overall, should be a good show.

>>20269095
why would MJF leave to be the third wheel of a heatless feud he's gonna end up losing anyways, instead of staying in AEW where they pretty much only have him and no one else?

I mean, if it was for money or crowds, he would've left a looooong time ago

The one with Iyo in it..

oh nvm. This card stinks. I'd say GOONER vs RAWLINS but I can already visualize how it will go down. GOONER hasn't had a good match since his NXT days. Maybe Liv Morgan will put on her Misawa boots
