The streaming PPV model has all but killed the formerly big WWE shows. The traditional build to sell a show as an alternative experience has been replaced with PLEs just feel in line with the usual shows. Same services. Same lengths. Now even with the same ads. Similarly with venues and cities bidding for events and providing a guaranteed money, there are no more immediate external influences like PPV buys or ticket sales to motivate them to put forth an effort and they have become complacent as a result.
