Punk got hurt. It was a miracle that that year's Wrestlemania turned out as memorable as it did and that was only because of Little Dick Dwayne's retard solution to write Cody off causing fans to push back. Even then Cody needed Sef, Rock, the rest of the Bloodline, John Cena, and the Undertaker to give match a main event feel. When finally left to his own devices he got exposed as the uncreative, generic shitter he always was who only knows how to cut sobs story promos and get beat down like a bitch. That's why all his high profile feuds start the same. All those times he'd get kicked in the balls then stripped shirtless, he was actually hoping creative would greenlight him getting gangraped in the middle of the ring. He completely misses the part where a babyface needs to be not just sympathetic, but have a cool factor to him.
