Not sure how I feel about Haste yet. He doesn't have the pure over-ness of KENTA to carry him and without Nicholls to bounce off of he's not a charisma monster either. I'm sure Inamura's going to pull off another great defense, but I'm not fully convinced.

He at least comes across as rock solid, which is always a good place for someone to be, even if they don't end up reaching the top right away.
>>
Next up is day 5 of the Champion Carnival!
>>20380467
Oh yeah, he's definitely not BAD by any stretch. Just not really the sort of guy you'd want to come in and get a title match without a feud. Hell, he wasn't even a singles star in his prime to begin with, and I say that as a fan of both TMDK as a tag team and his singles matches.

Every promotion needs guys like that. Every guy like that has room to improve. It's a good situation for everyone.
>>
Real shame this match got stuck in hardcam jail.
>>20380501
It's got to be an homage to that, right? He only started using it after filming.
>>20380502
>Every guy like that has room to improve.
Sure, I agree, but Haste is 40 and being brought in as an immediate challenger. NOAH doesn't have a ton of heavyweights to play with right now, which is partially why, I imagine, but still. NOAH's got plenty of glue guys, if they've got dough I'd rather have them grabbing a younger freelancer.

I'm closing out tonight with a little walk down King's Road. This is Misawa & Shinzaki vs. Kobashi & Akiyama from 15.01.1999! This one's a teaser for Misawa and Kawada's title match, which would happen a week later.

This is probably way out of left field, but a few weeks ago SGW had one of their best bouts to date and I was wondering if I could get some webms of it:
I've been falling in love with the promotion lately. Kayfabe is still 100% alive in African crowds. The tiny local crows is louder than every modern PPV main event, it's awesome.

I totally understand why these guys didn't go longer this time, but these two in a proper 20-minute match would be an easy MOTY contender for me. Happy to have seen it happen, but it's unfortunate to have it essentially curtain jerk.

Dire.

Unsure how I feel about doing slow motion on the first take with no replay, but honestly the production on this match overall was really solid.
>>
>>20387702
>Unsure how I feel about doing slow motion on the first take with no replay
Normally they do a slow-mo replay after full speed, this one being slow-mo the first time was honestly a little unusual for them.

There's something so insanely fucking funny to me that not even in a Ugandan indie fed, a continent and thousands upon thousands of miles away, you still cannot escape the handspring cutter.

I'll be honest, it's one of my least favorite moves. Way overused, and there's no way to do a handspring setup smoothly without your opponent just waiting around for it. If not for the absurdity of it showing up in SGW it's never really something I'd highlight.

Kek, fair enough. I'm not fond of the cartoony "Wait for me for 30 seconds while I do flippy shit" moves either, mind you.
