[Marvelous] Words of farewell from Rin, who retired at the 10th anniversary show and will return to being a momMarvelous’ 10th anniversary show on the 5th ended as a huge success, drawing a sellout crowd of 3,492 to Yokohama BUNTAI. Founder Chigusa Nagayo also declared an advance to Nippon Budokan. In contrast to the mentor who vowed further growth, the one who left the ring was Rin (33).She debuted as “Rin Kadokura” at Marvelous’ launch show in Toyosu on May 3, 2016. She was active in the promotion, winning the AAAW Tag Team Championship in Marvelous as well as the tag belts in WAVE and Sendai Girls. In April 2022, she married Kennosuke, the eldest son of the husband-and-wife pair Sasaki Kensuke and Hokuto Akira. In January 2023, she left Marvelous, and in August of that year, she gave birth to her first child, a daughter. When she returned last December for the first time in three years, she appeared in her retirement match at the 10th anniversary show. Teaming with Marigold’s Mayu Iwatani, someone she had admired, she defeated Mio Momono & Itsuki Aoki and said farewell to the mat.At the post-match press conference, she said, “From here on, I want to do my best as a mom and as an ordinary person,” drawing a line under pro wrestling. After the press conference, when asked for her “words of farewell” to Marvelous, she prefaced them by saying, “It’s presumptuous for me to offer words like that,” but added, “I’m happy I was able to be involved at the very end of Marvelous’ 10th anniversary, and I’m truly glad that, just as promised, I was able to retire properly under Nagayo-san.” She was glad that her retirement match could be held in her mentor’s promotion at the end.
>>20418374On top of that, she sent encouragement to Momono, one of the founding members, saying of the promotion, “As it continues for 15, 20, and 25 years from here, I think all kinds of wrestlers will be born, so I’m looking forward to that. I wonder what Mio will be like by then? I’m sure she intends this herself too, but I hope Mio keeps working hard and leading Marvelous.”For a memorable match, she named her tag team with Iwatani. The team of Iwatani & Rin Kadokura took part in Stardom’s tag league in November 2021. Speaking frankly about her feelings toward Iwatani, she offered words of gratitude: “The reason I was able to be a pro wrestler is also thanks to Marvelous, and I’m grateful that Mayu-san, whom I love, did not retire and is still here now. I’m retiring first, but Mayu-san was the reason I kept continuing pro wrestling.”On the day of her retirement match, her family, including her mother-in-law Hokuto, encouraged her. “More than anything, they told me, ‘Go do your best.’ Hokuto-san also told me, ‘Do your best, and don’t get hurt,’” she said, and she stood in the ring for the final time. According to Hokuto’s official blog, on that day, she had been appearing on the live broadcast of 5-ji ni Muchū! on TOKYO MX, but thanks in part to the kindness of the program side, she finished five minutes early and went straight to Yokohama BUNTAI. She reportedly made it in time for the ten-count gong.Having safely completed her roughly six-month retirement road, Rin will return to being a mom.https://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/articles/-/387280
