Just started watching Dynamite from the beginning. Around which episode does it start getting good?
I don’t remember but there was a few months of growing pains at the start. Like they never had the audio mixing right for example
>>20416665Just skip to 2021, 2019 they were figuring shit out and then the covid era was mostly unwatchable
>>20416689The covid era was kino. they figured out how to make the show watchable on literally the first episode during lockdown (unlike wwe lol). Hard cam pointed at the stage, and put all the backstage ppl into the front audience rows
>>20416689No COVID era was good, also watch AEW Dark and Elevation, those were kino af
>>20416689>covid era was mostly unwatchableHow can someone be this wrong? Covid era aew was the best wrestling show ever It rivals 2016 smackdown.
>>20416665I’m afraid you are going to have to watch the entire catalogue of 90s Japan pro wrestling to really get the nuances of Tony’s booking.
The truth is that it doesn't REALLY get good until Tony Khan 100% takes over. The first year or so has some great matches mixed in but its also plagued with>Kenny's joshi fetish>Young Buck's humor>Codyverse>Cody and Brandy forcing the SJW shit>Complete shitters who never had any business being on national tv like Marko Stunt and Dark OrderIt gets better though. The production team learns and becomes professional. The roster starts filling out with guys who don't suck. The cringe PWG style humor is eventually almost completely gone. The woke shit is 100% quietly phased out.
>>20416665Just watch the go home shows and PPVs between 2019 and 2022. Oh, and CM Punk's Rampage debut, and the very first eps of Collision.
>>20416665unironically gets unfathomably based from the COVID era then gets bad around the time big tone bought roh. gets good again in 2025.
Aew is so good that they did a “goodbye Florida” video package when lockdown ended and it made everyone feel like we were ending something special. Even though we should have been happy to see the plague was over
>>20416665>which episode does it start getting good?NEVERthat's why it got canceled lol
>>20416689>Skip half of the company's showsKek
AEW has literally never been bad.
>>20419826Why would you do this to yourself?
I don't think wrestling shows are meant to be binge watched from the beginning like a TV drama
>>20416738>The covid era was kino. they figured out how to make the show watchable on literally the first episode during lockdownI'm going to add to this and say that using the wrestlers as the audience and splitting them into heel and face sections was straight brilliant. Especially seeing the heels making bets on matches and shit talking the babyfaces in the ring whether they were feuding with them or not.
>>20419826Eh the cole/mjf friendship era was NOT it chief
>>20416848>AEW Dark and ElevationI really, really miss these shows. Taz and Excalibur had insanely good banter and I loved seeing the local Indy wrestlers try and get their shit in. Reminded me of comfy WCW Saturday Nights.
>>20417562>gets bad around the time big tone bought roh.I always theorized he had his hands full trying to shop RoH around, secure a new deal for AEW, and deal with the Punk fallout. For real though, there was a noticeable lull in quality there that didn't completely end until All In: Texas. Now the only stink left from that time is the fact that Death Riders still exist.
>>20418351That actually made me get a little something in my eye. That's the one where JR accidentally calls the company WWE at the very end of a pretty kino video package, right?>>20420008The devil angle was not great. We did get this from it though.
>>20420048Man i miss adam cole
>>20420015It was good to see indie darlings get their reps in, like after Julia Hart became Julia Black: she would get reps in on Dark or Elevation, then debut on a bigger match on Dynamite. It was dimes. Emi Sakura was dimes on Dark and Elevation, then she eventually got the 5 star title match with Jamie Hayter.
>>20416665AEW was kino all throughout COVID era, then the line where it probably started to suck donkey cocks was probably the CM Cuck era and #BrawlOut. Then the last good shit was probably Toni and Mariah. Everything else has been hangma'am circle jerk fest and injury fests.
>>20422151I remember dante racking up so many jobber wins on dark that hangman had to give him a television squash match and a handshake. AEW was decently balanced for a minute before Tony bought ROH.
>>20416665I won't call it "good" but they've been at their best within the last 6 months. Basically whenever Tony started burying Hangman.
>>20416665It doesn't. It somehow gets worse.
>>20416665when kenny wins the title it gets kino for a bit, peaking in his feud with christian
>>20416665the moment they go to daily's place for all dynamites bc of covid to hangman winning the title from kenny and then all in texas to current, most ppvs are worth it but dynamite was very mid during 2022, 2023 and most of 2024
>>20419972Lucha Underground and Raws from 97-98 are perfect for binging. Most wrestling shows just aren't watchable in the first place.
>>20419972Why are yall just now telling me this?? I've been suffering through Haystack Calhoun main events in WWWF for years
