Right as WWE is asking a bunch of their talent to take paycuts, a bunch of rumors start surfacing that WWE's main competitor and the main party they have to negotiate against for talent salaries is going to lose its primary revenue stream. Did WWE intentionally create those rumors so that they would have artificial leverage over the talent they're negotiating with?

Stop noticing things.

>a bunch of rumors
It's just that fag Nick LoPicco or whatever, he's not even a journalist, just a schizo

Seems like it’s an open secret that AEW is getting booted off tv and becoming a youtube fed. For shitters like Kofi and Woods who have already peaked, they’re happy to just take the tonybux. For others who still have aspirations in their career besides collecting a check, they’ll happily take a pay cut to stay with the fed that has media deals all across the board.

this actually makes a lot of sense and could very well be true

You think WWE is above feeding a rumor to an obviously unwell individual because they know he gets attention?

New Day showed who they were years ago, BLM/Floyd-worshipping retarded self-marks. It makes sense that as soon as they, individually, are approached about pay cuts that they then start leaking like a sieve to any dirtsheet goon that will listen, and make it seem like half the roster were also approached about and/or forced into pay cuts. The reason Meltzer, SRS and others aren't leaking names of the supposed pay cutees is because they don't want to immediately burn their brand new leak sources, Kofi and Austin.

We're at the point now it doesn't really matter what happens to WBD/AEW because Tony has enough money to buy a time slot on a number of major networks, and the gratuitous blood/violence/swearing goes both ways, any channel that doesn't want AEW because of that, he can just tone it down (no pun intended) for 1-2 years until they boomerang to a different network.

There's still a number of channels out there that AEW could land on and no matter what happens, Tony Khan isn't going to stop doling out giant contracts to wrestlers he feels his smark fanbase will pop for. The days of handing out "no take-backsies" contracts are over (signing NXT cuts before WWE could change their mind) but the New Days, Kairis, anyone with pedigree is going to be signed to 3-5 year terms similar to or exceeding what they were paid while cut.

Yes

There's no wrestling company on the planet that will offer New Day WWE-similar money other than AEW. Not TNA, not NJPW, not CMLL, not anyone. You'd have to be a fucking retard to think nobody has ever been approached about taking a pay cut before and yet this is the first we've heard of it happening, and purported to be happening to a "half dozen or more" according to leak recipient Bryan Alvarez...and it just so happens to coincide with New Day being approached about pay cuts.

They're leakers just like Dijak, the question is really how long they've been leaking for.

That's all what "journalism" is. Just some loser desperately trying to shill his blog spreading rumors and lies.

Or, on the contrary, TKO has inside information and the AEW shit is in fact true (which it is regardless with WBD being sold to Paramount), and since now that AEW will no longer be a televised and viable option for wrestlers, TKO knows they have most of them by the balls and can work them down to lower contracts
