The business feels deader than ever despite there being more wrestling shows than it was 10 years ago

even aew feels kinda empty now. it feels like they've done all they could do at this point. are there any big matches left? can i really get excited for an ospreay match knowing that i've seen all his best work years ago and its never gonna be that level again? i feel like darby getting the title was the carrot on the stick in a way, the last big thing aew could do. i hope i'm wrong though
>>
>>20420922
Everything that you have seen in wrestling right now, you have already seen before, perhaps even more than once. Just like all current media right now.

It's peaked though. All downhill from here.

>The business feels deader than ever
Elaborate how exactly. Because people say this shit every single year to the point of the notion sounding completely empty at this point

Pro wrestling is destined to become like jazz is to the music industry. Not mainstream and never will be again, but it fills a small niche that nothing else does and the people who follow it are happy because only the cream of the crop get any recognition. Currently with pro wrestling, there are at least one-thousand performers who do not deserve the recognition they're getting, and the only way to fix the taint they bring is to massively downsize the entire industry (witch is already happening).
tl;dr: Pro wrestling is dying and that's a GOOD thing

Wrestling is dead it's just a soulless business
>>
>>20421263
Pro wrestling always has and always will mirror pop culture and the world around it. Says more to the current state of media and everything else going on
>>
They need a younger top guy, who is going to be the face of the company in 5 or so years when punk, roman, cody and seth are gone? Bron breakker?
>>
>>20421320
Sad that Triple HHH botched Austin Theory and how many other younger guys just to spite Vince.

Rea Seto and, none that we know of.

I think the indies are going to make a comeback. This kind of homogenized product sucks ass on TV (and people have shorter attention spans, I think almost everyone is just doomscrolling anymore) but it's ok live.

And even something like the meltzer stars inflation is kind of illustrative: there has been a rampup of skill level and definitely athleticism but how much has it made things better? You don't need to be watching the best guys (or anything even close) to have fun at a wrestling show.

wwe is god awful right now
>>
>>20420922
There's no exciting prospects in the pipeline. No one is going out and doing something different to make a name for themselves. Everyone worth a damn gets immediately snatched up by a big company and lost in the shuffle.

AEW lost its identity since like 2022. It's been circling the water since. As weird as it is to say, it actually was a better show with some of the old shitters they had like Jelly, Sonny Kiss and others. It had that Nitro feel where it'll be just the most random match at the start of the show and then go into stories and everything else. Now, it pretty much follows the WWE formula but with longer matches and less commercials/filler.

WWE, I mean, it's just falling completely like the UFC did. Where you can't even name a fighter anymore and it's off the strength of just the brand but even that is diminishing. Vince needed to drop off creative sooner than he did, desu. He needed to find someone he really wanted if he had no faith in Stephanie anymore. I don't think Shane was it since he already picked Steph over her, so he would need a writer or someone with a decent enough vision, while forcing Stephanie and HHH off to do background shit or just become the promoter/face of the company as Vince stepped aside.
>>
You guys think Earthquake and Typhoon took turns taking dumps on each other?

Name 3 current top Formula 1 drivers
Name 3 current top NASCAR drivers
Name 3 current top NHL stars

Can't do it? Then that means all those leagues are failing according to your arbitrary stupid fuck rules. And the phrase is circling the drain btw not circling the water, you fucking retard.

Kofi Kingston is 44 years old. If you don't think Kofi is retiring, this year, instead of signing with AEW, then why do you think Seth won't be around 5 years from now?
>>
>>20420922
Boring ass society and it's overly dependent on live or instant reactionary content filler to fill the void
>>
>>20421726
Kofi is a young 44 tho

Nobody could ever name these. Ever.
>Name 3 current top NHL stars
Only Gretzky ever fell into this category. People used to know Hogan, Macho, Rock, Austin, DX, NWO. Now nobody know current stars are.

Yes, hence "the hottest it's been in decades."

this is such a tired routine from dronies.
no, AEW was not better with joey janela and sonny kiss than it is now.
sorry WWE is dying, but it's so retarded to claim everything else is too.
