Eddie wasn't that great. He was kind of funny and could put on decent matches, but this revisionist history where he was anything more than a glorified comedy midcarder is pathetic. We get it, he died young and it was tragic. But he never drew a dime.
>>
He had charisma which makes him better than 99% of the faggots wrestling in any promotion today

Eddie was based but Triple H then eventually Cena killed the ratings so badly nobody could draw. It’s hard to draw when a majority of the show is dedicated some faggot nobody cares about.

Been telling this to Roman fans for years

Nah Eddie was very talented. Great promo and performer. You basically know nothing if you think otherwise.

I disagree, I do think he was a generational talent. GOAT in ring IQ, storyteller, even the small expressions he would do. He's a guy that showed that even high workrate matches can have a story and drama

it's crazy cena kind of has to be included in all of the "greatest superstar of all time" debates. he had some talents, but most of his greatness is purely worked. he beat everyone for years and the show revolved around him. kids are not discerning, so of course they loved the smug guy who always came out on top. but you're right, he was a huge faggot and he made wrestling unbearable and worthless for years and so many people tuned out forever. there's dozens of people that could have taken his spot and gotten the same results with his push.

He had only just started getting main event over when he died. It's not revisionist history to notice that his best work was the 18 months before he died. Honestly Eddies death was around when I started losing hardcore interest. Had he not died maybe Benoit would have had an extra friend and not lost his mind which would have prevented the entire PG generation from happening. Then the ruthless aggression era lasts longer and evolves into something better than what we had in the 2010s and today
>>
By the time of his death he was easily their most over guy and it wasn’t even close. Stone cold level reactions.

>MORE IMPORTANTLY
eddie wasn't white.

Eddie only had like a year of relevancy. He didn't do much in WCW, almost blew it in WWE and then got a big push and was dead in less than 2 years.

this nigga gets it. His promo on brock was his best ever, his fued with angle was great, his heel turn and subsequent fued with rey was excellent. Even his fued with bradshaw was halfway decent.
