JCW is ECW's successor.

ROH is more of a 1-to-1 connection to ECW than TNA was to WCW. Early ROH was mostly being run by ex-ECW guys (Gabe Sapolsky was Heyman's protege, Doug Gentry and Rob Feinstein were also involved in ECW's production). ECW and ROH were also based out of Philadelphia, so a lot of the die hard ECW fans were at the earliest ROH shows (for better or worse).
