>>20444111from what i see, the crowds today politely applaud the effort and basically only pop for catchphrases, finishers and surprises. watch any match from the 50s to the 90s and the crowd is seriously following the action and getting into it like a legitimate sporting match. they're not sitting there on their hands waiting for something to happen, they're reacting to nearfalls, they're booing heels and cheering faces.
that's the other thing, if you were a good guy, like Dusty Rhodes, fans LOVED you. you were their hero. if you were a bad guy, fans HATED you and wanted to kill you. and you didn't want your shoot name and address in the phone book. it was that serious.
