Mai Sakurai wasn't overrated-she was actually underrated. Since coming to Marigold 2 and a half years ago, she's been busting her ass to improve and become a main event player. Her matches got A LOT better since her STARDOM days, and she was important for the development of the young girls off camera.That match with Giulia changed her whole career trajectory and it had nothing to do with nepotism. They just had a serious real life argument that got so bad that Marigold management thought they wouldn't be able to wrestle without lines being crossed. They beat the hell out of each other and Giulia legitimately elevated Mai so that she could become a multiple time champion without the "Giulia's sidekick" stigma attached to her.
