And so, it is declared that Wakanda will slowly open itself up to the rest of the continent! While this will surely change the status quo it probably won't be noticeable right away... But it seems like a good ending for everybody involved, at least for now.With a new team member and renewed spirits, the Avengers wave goodbye to Wakanda, as Frenchie (Moon Knight's pilot friend) reunites with them and they all board a special vibranium-powered stealth-jet to head back to New York! A long trip, perhaps, but it's not like there's any sort of emergency... Right?Unfortunately, yes.Let's take a look at a lone alley of New York, close to the headquarters-in-construction of Avengers Labs, two men argue casually..."So, 1-on-1, who do you think wins, The Thing or Sub-Mariner?""Who cares? Isn't he like an alien or something? I tell you, they're hiding something in the Baxter Building.""Y'mean Thing? Nah, I think he was just born ugly as sin!"Suddenly, a rift! From the darkness emerges a figure, tall and spiked, menacing and cloaked, irradiating an overwhelming evil!It takes mere seconds, before it disappears! The two men stare at each other in disbelief, unchanged... Or so it seems. Awkwardly walking the streets one of the men goes on his lonesome, but beware, for he is actually not the same man... Fists raised, he prepares to deliver a beatdown, except that Bushman also has a knife ready to sink into his side, and he would've done so lethally if Wasp didn't show up in time with her enhanced air speed and blasted it out of his hands "What the hell are you two doing?!" Cap rushes to join in and pulls Bushman aside "Moon Knight, stop being so reckless!" But that's like asking a wall, as now he tackles both of them! Now this a true mess. "LET ME GET HIM! Meanwhile, what the Space Phantom didn't know is this girl was also an Avenger, and Shuri goes to build a quick makeshift lance from a particularly sharp piece of debris... But it will do nothing against the Space Phantom, who locks eyes with her and uses his bizarre power on her! Suddenly, Tony Stark is transported back to our reality, walking left for no reason, and Jarvis strikes him over the head with a plate! "GAH! Jarvis?! What are you-?!""My apologies sir! You were- There was a-!" A space phantom? No, he is gone, and now Shuri is threatening the duo with her weapon! "Hahaha... This girl is pretty resourceful actually! I can tell she is good with weapons too. Shall we TEST THAT?!" He strikes, the weapon expertise of Black Panther now his to command! Good thing the other Avengers are now free to help! But will it actually help to have more people enter the fray?...And as for the real Shuri, it is now her turn to be transported to Limbo. She hears someone's scream, but it is too faded... Someone has to be "the smart one" on the team. The Black Panther does not need her powers to understand she is in an alien situation, in a strange realm, transported somehow... A sample could be crucial to understanding what happens in here.But she cannot seem to get one. The 'floor' seems too solid to even attempt to take a tiny sample, yet strangely not there at the same time. Coupled with the fact that she doesn't seem to be breathing makes her wonder how she can move at all... This place seems hard stuck the way it is, surrounded by stillness...But while she ponders over this, The Avengers go down to check on Stark and Shuri while Captain America remains behind to make sure Bushman is taken to prison properly.Little did they know the situation was already tense!When Wasp and Moon Knight get there to see Shuri has apparently betrayed them and is threatening to attack Tony and Jarvis, the hero hooded in white wants to strike with his trademark Crescent Darts!...Wasp, however, realizes damaging the lab any further may happen if there's more fighting in here, and so tries to drag people away from it. She shrinks and uses her enhanced strength in miniature state to drag both Jarvis and Moon Knight (despite his protests) away to safety. And while she does that, instead of going along, the ever clever Tony Stark tries to manipulate the enemy into revealing itself, while giving the others the time to leave. Villains love their stupid monologues, and as the freaky shape of the Space Phantom is shown to him and the rest, still holding the makeshift lance."Silence, human. I am the Space Phantom! I come from a place beyond your understanding, from my world of Phantus! But my world cannot hold my people any longer! So I have come to take yours! Now perish, Avenger!"Not much of a monologue, is it? And what's worse, he makes good on his word, and STRIKES!Meanwhile...Back in Limbo, Shuri continues trying to understand this strange realm... The infection is still contained.""The paperwork will be minimal. Let's keep it that way. Should we dispatch a Justice?""Perhaps Death's Head can fix it up?""There's probably no need for immediate action. I will send this to the superiors and await orders, but we should be ready. Did you know faking surrender is a war crime?Thankfully the wonderful Wasp prevents that from happening... By zooming into the Space Phantom and using her stinger beams to distract him. "Sorry ugly, The Avengers don't negotiate with interdimensional freaks!"The Space Phantom follows through with his threat and throws Tony Stark down the stairs. Moon Knight jumps ahead! Not to save a life but to dump further violence onto the mysterious enemy who cowardly attempts to defend himself... A seriously disappointed Captain America is then left with the duty of making sure the industrialist doesn't fall to his doom! Something he can do with ease, as he watches the Space Phantom falls from his high ground and disappears, leaving Shuri where he was before! As the switch happens mid-air (and we all know cats always land upright!)And soon all the Avengers are together again, with no sign of the invader."...Did we do it?" Asks Wasp. "Well... Not how I would've preferred but I don't see him anywhere." Answers a baffled Cap. "We should prepare in case he comes back either way, he sent me to some... Alternate reality, somehow..." Says Black Panther.But all's well that ends well, eh?Not.As the Avengers evaluate what their next task should be... The REAL Wasp stands amidst a field of nothingness. "Aw fiddlesticks, is this the afterlife? What's going on? Helloooo anyone?" And so, it is now the diminutive heroine's turn to be stranded in Limbo!
