(To everyone who signed up, I hope you are ready. I know I am. I have decided to start us south of the entrance to Eirenopolis (One of the largest cities of the north, lead by the priesthood of Selene). Your path takes you north, running parallel to one of the world's major mountain ranges. To your left, you can see foothills and vast plainlands. The group is abord an airship, by direct order of Mechaine. You are being sent to verify the strength of the Men of Iron. They are situated near a great breach, which leads directly into the prison which holds the blacklight. An esoteric field is all that holds it in, and the machines which maintain this field draw all matter of creatures which must be held off. Please enjoy!)
You have each been picked, to reasons known to none but Mechaine, to operate one of the very first prototype airships. Speed is of the essence, which is why you use this vehicle. However, to avoid being spotted, you are forced to go around the long way, and approach the great breach from the north, where Bellatist territory does not span. As such, you will soon be passing by Eirenopolis, and will travel east through the Northern Mountain Kingdoms, before once again heading south. Your ship is somewhat low on supplies, and you will need to stop to get more soon. While you could likely reach the Northern Mountain Kingdoms before you ran out of food or fuel, the area is harsh, and finding supplies is likely to be difficult. Accompanying you are a few ship hands and engineers, who are responsible for seeing the ship in good maintenance. Who are you, and what do you wish to do?
>>
>>6298364
I would like to double check our plotted course and see where best to stop to trade for supplies. I hope we have a good map to work with and some places we can grab items to trade down the path later. Assuming the cargo hold can take the weight and the captain allows the stops.
>>
>>6298364
Kane is most experienced in matters of combat and the slaying of monsters, here for the protection of the expedition, but he proposes finding a sheltered area near Eirenopolis, setting down, then trekking to the city on foot to purchase enough supplies to last them for the rest of the journey.
>>
>>6298387
I forgot the who part.

Trader Dan is a 2nd generation trader with dreams to expand past his home land. While not the most religious he also no reason not to join the Mechaine faith. For it never hurts to have the god of commerce back his goal.
>>
>>6298364
The Tinhead who someone nicknamed tinny mostly stands like a statue, he survived the destruction of his old unit and with vague orders seems lacking. He's been creeping around the ship crew and simply watching them for hours work the ship studing it.
>>
>>6298364
Typellus was a former pirate who eventually grew tired of doing horrible things for little reward. He abandoned his old crew and became a devout follower of the sea goddess. Currently he is walking around the ship and asking the ship hands if there is anything he can do to help. Otherwise, he is simply watching them work.
>>
>>6298387
You do have a good map on the ship. Your travels will take you through plainland, passing the city of Eirenopolis. It is a city rich in trade and art, and likely a good place to get supplies. You are a day's travel from there, and unlikely to find much of consequence until then. North of Eirnopolis, 2 weeks by foot, you would reach the Northern Mountain Kingdoms. You would likely pass through the corner of Eisenshafen, then Tannenhof, one of the oldest kingdoms, Gravenwald, a wooded kingdom populated by powerful political families, then Bergthal, the only kingdom capable of large-scale farming, then Selberfels, the richest kingdom in the nation other than the capital, then Altmarken, where the current capital of the Northern Mountain Kindoms resides. Then finally Falkenstein and eventualy, Saxondy, the most eastern of all the kingdoms. From Saxondy, you are charted to go to troll country, to the east of Saxondy, and then finally south, past the abandoned fortress of Hohenwacht, now known as Dunkelburg. Finally, you will reach the great breach, in roughly a week's time. The best places to trade in the northern mountain kingdoms would likely be Bergthal, Selberfels, or Falkenstein, though Saxondy is always looking for supplies, and often sells some more... specialized items if you know who to ask. Beyonnd that, Gravenwald and Altmarken would be excellent places to sell some more expensive goods, or find contracts with powerful nobles. Gravenwald is where the Order of Pendrake was founded, and one of its major bases is still located there. Given you are currently low on supplies, your hold is certainly in need of a restock.
>>
>>6298432
You will not find much other than fields outside of Eirenopolis, but the closest would be a small farming village, around a half day's walk west of Eirenopolis
>>
>>6298816
One of the crewmates replies to Typellus. The crewmate is a bit skinny, but seems to have a lean muscle to him. He is garbed in a white linen shirt, stained black in many places, and a shirt that looks to be striped in some shades of blue, though they are worn enough that they look more black then anything. The man has a weathered cheerfulness to him.
"Well, I appreciate you asking, but other then scrubbing the deck and looking at other's boots, not much for you to do. This ship, it don't sail like nothin else. The boys in the engine room are doing most of the work. I am just here to keep it from falling out of the sky. "
He seems to find the notion rather funny.
>>
>>6298725
You hear the quartermaster on the other end of the ship whispering behind you.
"That... thing makes my skin crawl. It acts like an impression of a man. Keep an eye on it. I do not want a screw going lose and it walking off the edge."
The man he is talking to makes a noise. The noise sounds vaguely like an engine to you.

The quartermaster responds:
"I do not want a cut to my pay."
>>
>>6299428
(I'll be taking the name Abney, in honor of the graet singer of started the great airship pirate era)
>hearing the stirings of discontent the good captain strives to make sure that no knives are aimed at his back nor at each others back until we are secure in payment and supplies (mutterings can lead to actions so far from friendly shores and a place for crew to spend payments earned)
"come now, no reason we can't be reasonable lads here, everyone gets what they are owned in time, ive never missed a payday without a good reason, right? and up in the skies is a good crewmate not all a man can rely on? think of it! no need to ever assign one of us to work the nightwatch again. Not like the tinman needs sleep eh?"
>>
>>6299420
Then I propose we set down outside the village and head into town to gather some supplies, perhaps find something we can use to trade in Saxondy or one of the other cities. How much money do we have, and who decides how its used?
>>
>>6299417
Good it would seem we have a few chances to build up supplies.

Plan for trade: Eirenopolis for trade goods to sell at Gravenwald and last chance to sell at Altmarken if Selberfels isn’t a good place. We can also go for noble support if we know what they want and find it on the way. Bergthal is likely where we get our bulk food supplies. Maybe they will have good preserved food as well. It would do us no good if the food goes bad.

Being the best places in the northern mountain kingdoms (NMK) I hope we can build up some weath with Selberfels and Falkenstein. Then grab specialized items in Saxondy if we get in on the know how. Assuming we do grab what we need before there.

>>6299664
Hey Captain, if the Tinhead gives ya trouble I can take a look and see about parts on the way.

>>6299702
I was thinking the same. As for the money if the church gave us nothing to work with. I'll hope we get lucky on some quick jobs in the towns or just try my luck with making this pocket lint and loose change into enough to feed and cloth an army.
>>
>>6299707
>>6299702
since im captain im going to say we have a general store of wealth to use repairing the ship which is roughly 20% of all profits and the rest is split among all crew members
debate is up if tinman counts or not given the arguments with the crew
best bet for resupply will be to see if any jobs are requiring supplies, news, or other goods needing to be sent to the next town on the way to where we are going and if we need to offer a discount on moer established routes we can do so
I leave the coin counting to you mr dan
once we make landfall ill be seeing if i can find a place of ill enough repuite to see if there are any dirty jobs that can avoid the taxman's gaze we can add to our profits but the key is to aim for jobs ON the way not against it
>>
>>6299664
"The good captain is excellent at bandying about with words as always. Regardless, you are correct. If we can figure out how to make it yell if something is amiss, it... would make a good watchman. Speaking of pay, we do actually need to discuss the state of our funds." The quartermaster says."
>>
>>6299702
In terms of the money you have, at least in terms of communal money to fund the expedition, you have roughly 50 gold pieces remaining. That ought to be enough to for a month of provisions and pay for everyone on the ship. A month and a half if you stretch it. "
>>
>>6299702
(Regarding who decide how it is used, that is up to you all, as in the players, to decide amongst yourselves.)
>>
>>6299707
(In total, the expedition was given roughly 75 gold pieces by Mechaine as a direct investment. The rest is being paid out of pocket by yourself and the captain, given the potential for profit given your successful return.)
>>
>>6300631
"come now the church has offered us all a good tithe to keep the ship afloat and soon as we make land fall we can split a sum among the crew to raise some spirits, and to settle the concerns about growing our funds ive already got a few leads if my sources on the ill repute sectors of the next town are to be believed, im trusting you and the good tradesman to find us some coin above board while i find us some funds free of the tax man's cut below it."
>>
>>6300834
"So be it captain, though I must insist, do not get caught. They do not look... kindly, on criminals. I will see to it that we have plenty of clean gold for our operation."
>>
>>6300847
Checking in to see if we need to do something or just wait for ya to have free time QM.

As everyone continues occupying themselves, the ship continues north. To your east, you can tell the grass is becoming a darker green in hue, and the number of villages is increasing. There are less crops being grown, and a slow increase in the amount of land being used for pastures. Fields of flowers dot the landscape, showing where the hand of man does not extend. To your right, the mountain ranges grow. Snow covers many of the peaks now, and sheer cliff faces are becoming more coming.

All throughout the ship, there is a consistent droning of engine and fire and the propellors on the back of the ship. Luckily, the ship is largely shaded due to the balloon suspending it. You are roughly 5 minutes south of the city of Eirenopolis. The crew is hard at work getting the ship ready to land. You can see the walls of the city from your vantage point. Grand slabs of stone, painted white and blue and green in a cubic pattern, nearly as high as the mountains that it spans. You can barely see the top of the wall, and from what you can tell, it must at least be 300 meters thick. There are great wall towers build into it, each would be a fortress of renown if by itself. The gates are grand, with statues and marblework decorating them for all to see. Along the outside of the wall appears to be a river, manmade. Likely for defensive functions.
>>
>>6302071
All good, I wanted to check in and make sure about things. Since I am new to playing under ya I assume there will be moments like this. At least until I under stand more of expected things for the back and forth talks or what not. Then mix in the different times player maybe on and that can be it's own problem to tackle.

When we landed I will do some info gathering on what to buy. After that I was gonna see what people are willing to spend out of the 50 gold. Then get to work shopping and loading up.
>>
>>6302075
How many crew does the Ship have i need to figure out how i split the gold across the workers, players, and ship's shared 20% of all resources for repairs and maintenance, etc
>>
>>6302275
Kael Surne is one of the quieter names on the ship’s roster. Just another engineer, tucked away in the steel ribs of the underdeck, working with gears and gauges and heat. He doesn't speak much. Never drinks. Never gambles. Always on time.

You might’ve passed him by a dozen times without ever looking at his face. That’s how he prefers it.

As the white-green walls of Eirenopolis rise before the airship, Surne emerges from the engine bay, boots echoing dull on steel. He carries a slate of maintenance notes and schematic overlays.

“Captain,” he says, voice dry and clipped, “Portside thrust regulators are half a cycle out of sync. Could be the altitude shift. Could be something else. If left unchecked, the ship might drift a few degrees during descent in the city. I recommend recalibration now.
>>
>>6303016
"Kael, my arial mechanical artist, if ive told you once ive told you a thousand times, if it can't be fixed by your brilliant mind with what we have, talk to our quartermaster about it, and if he quotes a price over 3 figures you talk to me and i'll steal something just as good"
>>
>>6302275
There are 4 deckhands, the quarter master, the navigator, the first mate, the three engineers, and the cook. Beyond this, there are the player characters. Traditionally, captain gets 2x pay, quartermaster gets 1.5x pay, and the butcher gets 1.25x pay. However, as for the players, I will let all of you figure out how to divide it amongst yourselves.
>>
>>6303016
(The ship is moved via propeller)
>>
>>6303016
(and it is made out of wood)
>>6303368
The quartermaster responds "I really must insist you stop attempting to steal parts for this vessel. It is against the law, and more importantly, makes for bad long-term trading relationships."
>>
>>6303373
"of course i will stop attempting to steal parts my masterwork mechanic, i will simply succeed from now on my honor as a captain of the free airs, and what would truly be against the law would be to let such a beautiful vessel fall from the sky because of such unfair business practices. ill have you know ive made many a friend through such actions, why i wouldnt have half my crew if i didnt get into a bit of trouble now and then, nor half as interesting guests."
>i wave him off as i do a quick divide to store 20% of all coins we were given and have stored and then divide the rest up evenly among the crew as "shore leave allowances"
>>
>>6303394
Dan seeing the Captain about to hand out the investment gold given. "Captain I do agree we need to have savings for the ship. Yet do you need to give out the remainder of the coins now. Most are paid a bit at a time and It would be a shame if the crew spent all their 'allowances' in one place. Also we need to make sure we have enough to buy supplies to trade at the other towns. "
>>
>>6303423
"A brilliant point, my economically inclined comrade, ill leave the finances up to you and the quarter master save for my rule that 20% of all profits go to the ship's pool. Just keep in mind that men of the air and sea need their indulgences."
>i leave trader Dan and the Quarter master to hammer out the finances as i go to take the helm and pull us into landing position
>>
Dan goes to meet with the Quarter master and other members of the expedition. "I know we will need food, toiletries, I assume warm cloths, and other Sundries. Does anyone need big ticket items before we get to the prison? I hope everyone has their basic gear, but it doesn't hurt to ask."

>>6298432
Dan takes the time to look people over and get some ideas. " Kane, Right? Will you need a spare weapon or two and some spare armor if a fight breaks out. It would do us no good if your weapon breaks. "

>>6298725
Dan will get slowly closer to the Tinhead with pauses every few steps. Once there is no signs of going into attack mode he will check for parts or repairs that maybe needed. "While I am in it for the profit it never hurts to invest in good protection."

>>6298816
Dan walks over to the person that I assume is looking geared for the sea. "The name is Dan, do you need anything for land sickness or is everything feeling fine for ya so far?"

>>6303016
Dan making is way to the engine room. "Hello the name is Dan, while we make our stops let me know of spare parts for repairs or parts to upgrade this prototype to keep an eye out."
>>
>>6303565
Dan will give a quick nod. "Understood captain."
>>
>>6303368
Ay, captain Abney. I’d like to report to you because you’re a good fellow, unlike quartermaster Typellus (>>6298816). he acts alright, does the good Samaritan thing here and there, but sir, he gives me the creeps. the other day, I swear on my bald old head, I saw skin between his fingers while he was nailing some wooden boards. When he saw me looking, he quickly covered it up and tightly waved his fingers. and for some strange reason, his hair is always wet… Well, maybe it's a skin condition, or maybe he just likes to keep himself refreshed, or maybe he’s a mermaid... Hahahaha, a mermaid! Oh, silly me. After the old wars, I’m not the same. Talking about sirens and being suspicious of everyone. Spending time on that old flying ironclad, with explosions left and right, no ammunition to return fire, with nothing to do but pray... I’m lucky I only lost half my body. If it weren’t for that tin-head Tinny (>>6298725), who’s anything but small, shielding me from the blast with his own body, I wouldn’t be here. He saved my life, but since his body wasn’t that wide, half of mine was exposed to the explosion of the blackpowder barrel.

When we woke up, we were on a small sandbank in the middle of the ocean. Nowhere to be seen, just a single coconut tree. Feeling guilty, he ripped off his right arm and right leg and gave them to me. And they say robots don’t have hearts. We spent six days and six nights there. On the fourth night, the coconuts were all dry, and Tinny needed oil to keep working. I had nothing with me, just my air naval uniform, all dirty and smelling like fish. So he blacked out, and then I was completely alone. I stared at the sky, looking at all the stars in the infinite dark blue. I saw the Queen constellation above the moon. she was so bright, and her light comforted me. I prayed, asking for help, and then I said, “What should I do?” Nothing. No answer. Only the blue light of the moon.

After talking to myself until sleep took me, I woke up with a crab piercing my foot. When I opened my eyes, screaming in pain, I saw only the white hourglass back of a woman with black hair. She entered the water quickly, and the last thing I could see was her delicate feet with skin between them. desperate I tried running to the sea, but forget I only had one leg now, so I fell and eat sand. when I composed myself and turned my head I saw a signal flare gun lying on the sand, along with cans of water and oil, all with the Air Marine logo and smelling of fresh seawater.

- - a chimney starts to whistle, the other engineers start shouting: "where is old Surne? the boiler is alone, he's going to blow up the ship at this rate" - -

Oh, well, look at the time I’ve spent rambling. I’m just an old fool after all. the propulsi— I mean, the propellers and the mechanical steam system needs me. Excuse me, sir.

*The old man Surne salutes his captain by raising his rusty mechanical arm to his face and exits.
>>
>>6303604
>Spending time on that old flying ironclad in the old wars' days*
fix.
>the flying battleship was nowhere to be seen and there was only deep ocean everywhere and a single coconut tree and a bit of sand*
fix.

>>6303595
thanks, master Dan. we appreciate your efforts.
>>
>>6303607
(You really ought to read number the first post. This is a prototype airship, and one of the first of its kind. There have never been flying ironclad warships up to this point, and this is one of the very first flying ships in general. I do appreciate how much you are getting into it, and if you have any questions, I would be happy to answer, but this is a new thing in the lore.
>>
>>6303595
The quarter master responds
"Well, outside of trading goods, we will need coal or coke for the burners, and potable water. It likely would not hurt to get a blessing at the high temple while we are here. Everyone ought to have their normal equipment accounted for, though, I suspect they will wish for some alcohol while we are here. I have heard they make some rather good wines. In terms of trading goods, this place is famous for its pottery, textiles, and wines. It also has a notable musical and poetry scene, though those would be much harder to transport. If nothing else, (6 months ago at least), the capital of the Northern Mountain Kingdoms had something approaching an obsession for the cloths which are sold here. There is also the salary of the men to consider. Each of them are owed a wage of 2 gold coins a week. In terms of gunpowder, we will not find anything of good quality until we reach the Northern Mountain Kingdoms."

The quartermaster gets close enough to wisper
"It would behoove us greatly, to ensure the men stick to more honorable establishments. It is in our best interest not to get bogged down. Beyond that, the... tinhead is acting odd. I want to get some rope to tie around it so it cannot fall off the edge."
>>
>>6303604
"ah my old friend Surne, when we make port i insist on you and I sharing a drink at the nearest bar to wet our throats and sing a song to the wonders of this world, to the old Ironside ships that swam the seas so well you think they were cutting through the air as we are now, to the lost loves of siren songs and fair maidens left at ports behind"
>I salute the old man as an equal as he heads back to work, making note to increase his payments to afford new augmenters
>then return to bringing the ship into the landing pad and keeping an eye open for any other captains
>>
>>6303766
(sorry man, the william dafoe sailors' voice took the best of me and made me write that, I'm not gonna lie, I had fun writing kek. I tried deleting but couldn't. let's ignore the ironclad part and pretend all happened in the sea).
[The paint job in the big walls and the patterns gave me babilonian vibes. Is this aligned with your artistic vision? I mean, what are your main inspirations? I notice how you describe scenario with rivh details and I like that. Thanks for your time and attention, Zoar. Let's make fantasy great again].
>>
>>6304209
A mixture of Babylonian, Assyrian, Greek, and Byzantine influence for the city. More Greek and byzantine then Babylonian or Assyrian. Also, I am fine with you doing stuff, just please look and ask me first.
>>
>>6303595
Kane shakes his head. "It would reflect badly on me if one of my weapons broke in the middle of a fight, and the consequences would be just rewards for such an abject shirking of duty. However, I would be more than glad to offer some training with the blade to the rest of the crew, if some basic swords are provided. In the meantime, I think I will see if I cannot bring in a bounty or two while we are in the city."
>>
Coming down to sit in a river that lies roughly a mile away from the walls of the great city, the crew begin to secure and repair the ship. Eirenopolis lies one mile to the East. There lies a very small town a quarter mile to the south. Near the ship, there is a road that runs to Eirenopolis. On this road, you can see many merchants and travelers. Given their clothing, it seems they are from a great many places. Some wear square garments of vibrant hues, others wear tunics of darker colors and others still wear flowing whites or simple brown clothes. Some travel with weapons such as Messers or hunting swords.
>>
>>6305345
it appears the airship is not as common here as elsewhere, though so much the better, i will be off then to get acquainted with the well fortunate and fellow traders in underhanded dealings at the nearest bar or tavern to wet my pallet
we shall set off at next midday after we have secured proper dealings, supplies, and some proper stories to pass the time to the next town
>>
>>6305345
Time to head into town or is there more we should do before going?
>>
>>6306812
We can head to town whenever you guys want. Since we are on the ground, it is up to you guys to say where you want to go and when. I will never tell you guys what your characters did. But with that said, there is nothing interesting that will happen if you sit around and wait.
>>
>>6306903
Good to know. For next time, to ensure knowing when we can act, could you make a note what about would we like to do. I wasn't sure if there was gonna be more to the post.

With the before about what we might be doing. I was assuming some actions would be automatic. Like gathering information in town once we landed.

I would to talk with people walking to town and gather tends for deal on our flight path. I am hoping we get luck with a mail delivery or package drop off. Otherwise it is good old buy cheap and sell high. Assuming the margins are good.
>>
>>6306903
>>6307017
then ill set off for the nearest bar or failing that the nearest market hub where i can gather information on dealings and who might be willing to pay under the table to move something to the next town while i let my more mercantile crew mates handle the above board dealings
>>
>>6306903
Kane sets out into the city, searching for any evil that he might slay, or simply any quick jobs that need doing with a little coin to pay.
>>
As the group walks eastward, they come to the great walls of Eirenopolis. Layers of walls stand before you, tall enough to blot out the sun. In front of the frontmost wall, there is a great river which flows like a torrent. As you take the bridge through the gates, you see layers of defenses. There are great gates of wood and iron, murder holes, and portcullises. There are courtyards, lined with equipment ready to shoot those who enter. As you all reach the other end, you are met with a wall of smells and sights and sounds. Spices and incense caried on the breeze. Garish fabrics and white silks among many a merchant and lady. You hear the sounds of people haggling, singing, playing musical wonders drawing crowds. You see pedestals with philosophers standing on them, debating each other or even the crowd itself. You see grand temples teaming with priests and devotes, conducting ritual and sacrifice. Welcome, to the traveler's district.
For this district and the Great Temple, I would recommend the song: Ti ipermaho

>>6307444
>>6308200

Kane and Abney head together, to the south east. As rumors go, that is where the more unsavory parts of the city are, partitioned off by palisades surrounding the whole place. Here you find taverns and tents, bathhouses, and buildings built on top of ruins, built on top of ruins. The clothing they wear here is of striking colors like before, but there is a taste lacking in it. It is colorful for the sake of it, rather then any intended look. The women here of course still dress properly, though for a few of them, their garments are more sheer then they ought be. You will find no philosophers or priests here. And yet, there are still bands, circuses and dancers in this part of town. You can tell where the guards are posted long before you get to them, as the streets they are on tend to be much... tamer. As you are going along, you come across a tavern. You cannot read the name, the language is foreign to you. However, you can still see the figure which, at one point was likely a golden yellow, thrusting a lance through a dragon's head. You have a good feeling about this place, though the man being thrown out the front door may disagree.
>>
>>6307017

Having asked the quartermaster where to go before you left, you know to head north into once you got inside the city. The traveler's district does have many goods, but often more for passer's by, more expensive and eye catching. There are few good deals to be found here, especially dressed as you are. However, you know to the north is where honest merchants work. Their is a great road that runs directly to the docks, and it runs through the whole northern part of the town. Here you can find blacksmiths and silver smiths. Tailors and cloth spinners. Fish mongers and men who sell food in bulk. While many things here are sold in bulk, meant for merchants, there are some more distinguished goods for those with good taste. Specialty cloths, rugs, spices that cost a fortune. Clothing made to the highest standards, pottery of great beauty. You know not exactly sells well here, but you heard that merchants tend to congregate and talk business around the coffee shops in the area. It may be of benefit to take some coin and talk there. Mechaine's domain is a place few have been, and information for that area is valuable here. As for mail or deliveries, outside of the specialty shops, your best bet would be to head south to the great temple, where administrative and religious matters are taken care of. They would be willing to pay a pretty penny for fast delivery.
>>
>>6308338
I will head temple to pay my respects to Mechaine and the order. Then see what I can gather for delivery and information. With luck the others will have some information I can use and if not I will pay a visit to the coffee shops.

I am thinking so far we will want to grab some cheap fresh food to have for the road and save on supplies. If the spices are a good deal I will grab some as well. I imagine they could sell well in the cold north, assuming they are like earth were spices are big the hotter areas. We can bring some new flavors to the north.

i look to the man who was thrown out and smile
"at last a place of good law abiding folks, i have a good feeling about such a place my friend. i feel like we both will find what we seek"
>i step over the man and into the bar looking for anyone who speaks my language or at least is able to understand my point without risking a further brawl through misunderstandings
>i also keep an eye out for what caused the man to be thrown out as people with a grudge to nurse can be good to know too and i promised id at least try to get the journey underway before getting into a brawl

As you head south, you see the temple, located on a hill overlooking the rest of the city. Here, the finest philosophers, poets, and orators in the world can be found, outside the temple. Inside, you see priests moving about, hearing confessions, carrying out sacrifices, and managing the many clerical duties required for the city. You do not see any alters to Mechaine, but instead, to Selene, goddess of the moon, the arts, tailoring, and music. The whole building is full of incessance, layers of aromas building upon each other. Meanwhile, stained glass windows make cascading colors upon the ground and walls. It seems this was done with intention, as the colors make many of the tapestries on the walls seem to move, as though made of living cloth, showing their story. You see an opening to your right which appears to go to an administrative section. You may find who you seek in there. To your left, you see what may be a library, though it is hard to tell from this distance.

I can't imagine books being much cheaper here. It could be worthwhile checking out that Library. For now I'm going to head to the administration.

Before that I'm going to find a corner to pry to Mechaine. I will try to keep to my word even if there is not an appropriate area for Mechaine. After all I imagine show repect to the gods before Mortals is how the order goes. I'll ask for forgiveness though from the goddess
Selene before I get started.

Kane merely shakes his head and leaves his arms hanging near his belt. Men being thrown out of taverns is usually a sign of the opposite of law abiding folks in the area. While Captain Abney steps into the bar, Kane points at the man lying on the floor and asks,

"You. Why were you thrown out.?"

In the tavern, you see two guards standing by a door near the back of the room. There is also the tavernkeeper, an assistant, what appears to be two merchants talking over some drink, a serving girl, a group of what may be miners, and a few other folk. The inside of the tavern is neat and tidy, unlike what you would expect given the area that surrounds. There is not even music in the place, only quite conversation. You may have luck attempting to speak to the tavernkeeper, for if he does not speak your language, he may be able to find someone who can. Those people of the southlands are famous for speaking in a quick, clipped fashion, or at least, that is what those of the northern lands think.

>i move to the tavernkeeper
"ah my friend, how lucky i am to have found such an oasis during my travels, already i am in need of a drink to celebrate both good fortune and the beginnings of a new story, you look like someone who knows many people with such tales im sure."
>i slide 3 gold over
"open a tab for me and my friend, and tell me this seems like a place where those with hands tight around their gold pouches speak candidly to each other. Anyone of note a new face could begin to find new business partners and friends?"
>i place two more gold pieces on the table to gage his reactions
