At the heart of the Johnny convention, behind one set of curtains inside the cuddling zone, there lies a group of zany individuals sharing their stories. You’re among them. And as of now, you’re listening to the second culprit of this entire event happening: Lydie.

The former priestess of the Church of Beauty has revealed that you (and your seven Johnny Plushies) are the reason why she’s excommunicated. This creates a little shock in Dog Girl or Proto-Cow as, well, she doesn’t act like a proper religious girl. But there’s a mystery, why *you* (and the Seven Johnny Plushies)? The moment to find out is now.

“Thanks to me? What did I do?” You feel like it’s very irresponsible of Lydie to point fingers at you or anything that looks like you.

“Be chosen by me!” Lydie puts her hand on her chest. “I couldn’t continue my proper functions without stating your beauty! They’d ask me: Who among these men is the most gorgeous? And I’d say you! Then they’d retort: pick one of the contestants, and I'd say I’m not interested! They couldn’t accept you as an answer because you haven’t gone through the proper channels. They never spared you a thought! Never listened to me! But they’d be damned! I chose well.”

“I don’t want to come off as too forward, but isn’t this entirely your fault?” Proto-Cow Verity dryly retorts after reviving from the petting.

“She’s in love, who are we to judge?” Dog Girl Donna doesn’t see the issue.

“Partially intelligent beings.” Verity states.

“Regardless! I’ve been forced into a position I would rather not be in, but as it’s my nature, I always make the best out of my current dilemma.” Lydie explains.

“Right…” You don’t know if you feel responsible for this or not. You two have never met before.

“More questions, my jewel! More questions! I’ll answer anything you’re curious about!” Lydie wants more and more attention!

What do you do?

>Ask Lydie if there is a way to help her out. Extend a helping hand to this silly girl.
>Ask Lydie if she knows Nariko or Ichie. Look for more bovine connections.
>You have spent enough time here. Leave the Convention without causing a ruckus. Let your fans enjoy themselves.
>Give the signal. Bring Rora, Pansori, and Celia back. Plan together an incredible ending for the event.
>This event was fun. Time to ruin it. Open the curtains and create an unprecedented amount of mayhem.

Votes:

Votes are counted until 25 minutes have passed. This rule doesn't apply to the last reply of the day.
Votes that require a dice roll are counted until 15 minutes have passed, so we can speed up the process. Rolls are counted until 10 minutes have passed, so be prepared!

(NEW) Dice Mechanic:

We always roll 1d100s!
Since most people weren’t happy with the system of averaging top four rolls, we’re using best of 2/3/4 depending on the attribute a prompt requires. If Johnny is a genius and it’s a Knowledge based roll, he gets more rolls (Max. 7)! If he sucks, he gets less dice (Min. 2)!

When asked for rolls, I will specify how many you’re going to get. Rolling begins after it’s asked.

Rolling 100 is a critical! There are no Critical Failures anymore!

The difficulty of the roll is tied with the effectiveness of the action. In other words, the harder the option the better the result!

Don’t forget that at the end of the day, this is a story-driven quest! What the prompts are describing is more important than the difficulty of the rolls, for results in a fight.

Again, rolls are only counted when they are posted within ten minutes of being asked, so watch out!

Despite any apprehensions you may have, declining such a friendly girl’s request is impossible. Besides, curiosity begets further questions!

“Tell me, have you met Nariko or Ichie?” You ask since they all studied in the same school.

“Edamura? Saionji? Of course, I know my adorable underlings! I’m their role model!” Lydie gets excited talking about your bovines. “Such a clever duo! Praise to me for leaving the world of academics for their holding, while I conquer more impressive records against the rest of the nation.”

“Not to be forward again, but it sounds like you couldn’t match their intellect.” Again, Verity has her reservations.

“I’ll admit, it’d take me twice the effort to match theirs, but I’m a year older, comparing our academic achievements is meaningless — we’re not competing in the same playing field. Unless they decide to enter my realm of expertise, there’s no need for me to brag! Ohohoho~!” Lydie is proud of her own achievements; sports are her thing. But can Lydie truly match Ichie’s insane speed? You doubt it. “Speaking of them, do you know where they are? Both have completely disappeared without leaving a trace. I’m concerned that I might be next! The academy can’t lose more shining stars!”

“W-W-Well, they were at the debate.” Donna recalls.

“They are alive? But are they thriving? Discovering more about themselves in this new environment?” Lydie wants to know.

“I’d say so, yeah.” You nod.

“M-Ms. Edamura will be the future vice-president of the Student Council. She has my vote, arf!” Donna barks without meaning to.

“How marvelous! I’m not the only one who discovered a beautiful world outside the walls of the academy! Perhaps I underestimate my own influence on my underlings, my humbleness is unmatched.” Lydie puts her hands on her hips. “But truly, only the uninspired get complacent with such a narrow view…”

“As for Ichie, she’s doing well enough for herself!” You don’t know how to hype her up, but she’s trying to be a better person.

“Excellent news! Seeing them again is a must. You know them both, I take! You’ve done well by keeping your watchful eye over those two. Aren’t they wonderful?” Lydie wants to see those two again! “I can feel the connection between all of us! There’s no doubt in my mind, you’re the one I seek. The man for the job…”

“I wanted to ask, anything I can help you with?” You offer. Maybe it’s your undisclosed eighth sense, or you’re looking for trouble, but Lydie might need a hand!

Oh la la~! Yes! Be my boyfriend!” Lydie asks again! Huh, you should’ve expected it. “With you by my side, I’ll prove your worth to the Church – it’s the only way they’ll allow me to return! I beg of you, on my knees if I must! Give me any challenge, and I’ll prove my worth!”

Welp, a second confession in the span of an hour. Neither Donna nor Verity react as bothered as last time, Lydie’s words have lost all luster…

You did want to meddle with the White Flames. Is this the best approach to take?

How do you respond?

>“Sure, I’ll be your boyfriend.” Don’t hesitate. Pretend to be her boyfriend.
>“Any way of doing that without the boyfriend bit? I wanna help, but this is way too sudden.” Be rational.
>“You can have this plushy instead.” Hand Lydie a Johnny plushy.
>You won’t. As soon as Lydie asks, the others arrive (Rora, Pansori, and Celia). Trouble ensues.

“Sure, I’ll be your boyfriend.” You say without hesitation.

Excuse me?” Verity doesn’t believe what she heard.

H-H-H-H-Huh?” Donna pretends dogs don’t have better hearing.

Y-You will?” Lydie has turned all red.

Nobody in this room expected a quick response, less so this kind of response. They’re all flabbergasted, their brains malfunctioning, trying to connect to a code of conduct fit for the situation. The looks of horror, confusion, and glee are unique to each of them, but they somewhat combine in a ball of mixed emotions. All this to say, if you don’t say something, the situation will be stuck.

“Yeah, I don’t mind pretending to be your boyfriend.” You clarify.

Pretend…?!” Now Lydie is acting like the other two.

“You two just met, you have no right to expect this much.” Verity doesn’t try to throw this in the athletic girl’s face, but she does feel smug.

“I-I-I-I-I was ready to say it too…” Donna feels the same panic as she once did in the other room. Is confessing her feelings her way to cope?

“Whatever it is, whatever it is. Don’t be surprised if it turns out the pretending bit renders itself pointless, my equal. But thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” Lydie will take her chances as she places her arms around yours. She looks unbelievably happy, her grinning cheerful self was not even close to looking as fulfilled as she acts now. “But here, behold this flier!”

“Oh? What’s this?” You grab the piece of paper handed to you. It’s some sort of Church Bootcamp for aspiring new members. If you didn’t know any better, you’d say it’s similar to the indoctrination methods the Cult of Chernobog pulled off. Perhaps, this is where they got the idea?

“Our excellency, the Archbishop of the Church, will host a three-day camp in which aspiring members might elevate their ranks within the order, if they complete a row of tests. It’s also an introductory event for new prospects, but that’s an aside.” Lydie explains. “Our mission, my love, is to have a meeting with her — and pledge my case!”

“Her? Meaning the Archbishop...?” Verity leaves her mouth open.

“Indeed!” Lydie nods. “This is incredibly exciting, isn’t it?! Don’t be stressed, my love. I’ll figure out the details, all you need to do is stay true to yourself. And now, I shall never leave your side to build our chemistry, my trophy!”

Lydie has become a parasite, err, a lovely temporary member of your party. Donna is next to you like a police dog…
