This is the story about a world divided between humanity’s accelerating advancements in technology and their mastery of arcane magicks.

Two heroines from opposite sides of the coin were brought together by fate itself to uncover the conspiracies brought forth by humanity’s unsettling progress. will they be able to bring balance to the world, pull a divided world back whole, or will their failures cause the segregation of humanity from its progress into an unrecoverable spiral into chaos? The choices are all up to YOU…!!

This is the story about technology, magick, stars, adventures, and breaking a curse.

This…..is “STARGRAVING”.

SCHEDULE: Every Monday-Thursday from 1:40PM-6:00PM EST

Keep in mind, I’m very new to Quests, as this is my first one. Nonetheless, I hope you stay tuned and enjoy!!

Before there was life, before there was anything…there were stars. Long ago, when humanity was at its infancy, the stars had blessed the once primitive race with gifts that would change the blue orb into nothing its ever seen before. One is ever-accelerating progress, allowing mankind technology to be 200 years ahead of what it would’ve been in our world. The other gift is a near endless abundance of Mana, coursing through the planet like blood. With Mana, humanity was able to develop and master the ways of arcane magick.

With these life-changing blessings from the stars, humanity was shaping Earth to be a utopia. However, mankind’s conflicting viewpoints and ideas in creating this perfect utopia have formed great prejudice between the two practices. For the last 2000 years, the world was heavily divided between the two practices, with 97 “Magick Nations” and 97 “Progress Nations”. Anyone who defies the segregation is dealt with swift and severe punishment…This law imposed by the governing powers of world came to be known as “The World MagiTek Segregation”.

The current year is 2025. The steady chain of events that will soon follow will force the world to undergo a great change . . .

It was a night like any other in particular, a sea of stars providing the landscape beneath it with a faint glow. A peaceful breeze softly blows against the grass, and the chirps of crickets serve as a lullaby for the slumbering wildlife. All was well, until now, that is. Thousands of feet in the air, a small flaming ball of rock descended from the heavens with breakneck speed, leaving a bright streak of red behind it! The distance between the falling rock and the earth greatly dwindled every half-second, it was practically unstoppable! Within seconds…BOOM ! ! ! The foreign object collided with the grassy floor, the ensuing explosion sent all the nearby creatures into a panicked frenzy, taking shelter within a thicket in the woods! As the dust and debris settled, a rather small crater only 25 feet in width and diameter can be seen.
Even after falling from the sky, the rock didn’t make a very deep impact, but upon closer inspection, there was a bit more to this object than meets the eye. This stone, this…“fragment of a star” was smooth and spherical, almost like a ball. A faint azure aura emitted from the star fragment, harboring a great and mysterious power. It was not by chance that this stellar object fell to the earth, for it was the fate the stars had dictated that caused this tiny fragment to chip off of its colossal whole and descend from the heavens!

The one who’ll find this star fragment first will be the one who shall bring forth great change to the world! Fate will draw 2 individuals towards it, but only one of them will be chosen. That decision is up to you!

New-Perik: A technological marvel of a city. Right on the edge of Engrerain, it serves as the capital of one of tbe 3 Founding Nations of Technology. With dizzying skyscrapers, bright rainbow lights, and hovering vehicles zipping through transparent midair roads, it is truly a metropolis only made possible thanks to humanity’s astronomical progress. Smack-dab in the middle of the city is Skynarrow Tower, the “castle” of the Engrerainian government whose towering height pierces the Stratosphere. It alone allows for Neo-Perik to stand out as the crown jewel of a prosperous nation.

Though, most of it all is a mask. Despite being the technological marvel that it is, Neo-Perik’s beauty is only surface-level, with the true “city” being the ghetto beneath! Housing over 8 million people, roughly 3 quarters of Neo-Perik’s population, the lower level of Neo-Perik, referred to by most as the Underslums, is the total opposite of the city above: Grey, dank, and perilous. Crimes occur on the daily, under or in front of the noses of authorities, residential areas are overcrowded and poorly maintained, and ferocious hostile creatures even lurk about in all kinds of nooks and crannies! The Underslums are quite a terrible place to live, and what’s not helping the fact is the infernal noise of buzzing and crackling over at a particularly run-down garage…!

Within the run-down garage, a young woman no older than 20, brunette, and eyes green with a cheap white labcoat, a purple and black jumpsuit, and large safety goggles atop her forehead. She is [b[Noisette, a young aspiring inventor and weapons aficionado, in the middle of putting the finishing touches on her latest creation. She managed to get her hands on a military-grade laser pistol...using it as the base, and with a tiny drop from a vial of smuggled Mana she dumpster dived for, Noisette plans to infuse the gun's power core with magick!

"C'mon, no trembly fingers...no trembly fingers....just a tiny drop of this stuff, Noisette..."

The young inventor tried to assure herself and give herself a steady hand, until.....BOOOOMMM!!! The pistol was blown to pieces as Mana made contact with the advanced power core, sending Noisette falling from her chair and onto the cold concrete floor bum-first. She clicked her tongue and muttered a curse in annoyance...she could have sworn she gave the thing a tiny drop! That's not good, she thought...Noisette can already hear blaring car alarms and barking dogs outside. It won't be long before . . .

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT BLEEDIN' RACKET?!

Hoisting her chair back up, Noisette groaned as the sound of light footsteps and solid wood close in on the garage door. Welp, this won't be the only explosion she's gotta deal with today...

Opening the door, a short elderly man stood before her with an aggravated scowl plastered on his wrinkly face. His beard and thick and white as snow, and liver spots can be seen on his bald head. The geezer wore a red floral shirt and khaki shorts, his brittle hands resting atop an old wooden cane. Clearly, he's not very happy to see Noisette right now, the latter could only nervously laugh and throw up a half-assed shrug.

"E-Ehhhmmm, s-sorry 'bout what I did to the place, G-Grandpa Tobin..hehehe..."
>>
"DAMMIT' ALL, NOISETTE! YA' CAN'T JUST KEEP BREAKIN' MAH' SHIT WITH YER' FIDDLIN' AND TINKERIN' ! I'VE GOT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS CAUSE OF YA' ALREADY!"

Grandpa Tobin barked, stamping the end of his cane against the floor to get his granddaughter's attention, who could wipe smudges of dust from her face.

"Yeah, I know, but I was sooooo close to making it work! If I gave that pistol's power core a smaller Mana dose, I would've infused magick into a weapon! I might be able to finally mix magick and technology together! MagiTek will be huge, I know it will!!"

Noisette's eyes beam with excitement! But, to her elderly guardian...

"Yer' still on that magick hullabaloo?? Dangnammit Noisette, ya' know how I feel about that filthy Magi business in mah' house!! If the police catch ya' with that stuff, we're BOTH headed to the slammer! Ya' better be lucky I'm kind enough to give ya' a roof ova' yer' head and food to eat!"

Grandpa Tobin's scowl does not fade. In his younger days, he was a decorated veteran of the Engrerainian Army, serving his country during conflicts between its neighboring country Diezauberei, one of the 3 Founding Nations of Magick. He's claimed to have seen the atrocities magicians, or "Magi" as people of Progress Nations like Engrerain call them.

" C'mon! But Graaaaandpaaaa, It's really important! MagiTe-"

"No buts! Either do yer' magick tinkerin' somewhere else, or keep it quiet in here! I'm tryin' to watch mah' sportsball n' I don't wanna hear no damned explosions!"

Grandpa Tobin slams the door with a shriveled hand and slowly walks away. Although he comes off as a cranky short-tempered geezer, he's still kind enough to give Noisette a home in his garage after a terrible incident took the lives of her parents. Noisette is still grateful for that, despite her grandpa's constant complaining.

Letting out a deep sigh, Noisette sits back down on her chair and ponders for a moment. Hand on her chin, she wonders if heading to the dump is a good idea. Sure, it's risky with all the hostile creatures and crooks lurking about the Underslums, but she's at the cusp of making this work! Plus, she might be able to scavenge for more scrap, which she's starting to run out of! What to do.....

>Stay in the garage and work on the MagiTek experiment.

>Gear up and head for the dump to get more scrap.

Noisette's mind was made up! She gets up off her chair and starts getting ready for a quick trip to the dump. The brunette inventor goes dumpster diving all the time, so she knows a quick shortcut that should take no time at all! Only that shortcut is teeming with creatures, so it's safe to bring a weapon with here.

"Hmmmm, apples...check. Flashlight...check. Shovel...check. Uhmmm..."

Noisette was deep in thought as looked at her choice of weapons. To her left, a high-frequency knife, and to her right, an ordinary laser pistol wth 3 usable power cores (10 shots each). She can't take both, unfortunately...since she'll be carrying back scrap from the dump back to the garage, Noisette can only pick one.

Bringing a laser pistol with her wouldn't hurt. After all, she needs a replacement weapon for her MagiTek experimentation!

Carrying a large duffel bag in her left arm, and a high-tech weapon resting on her belt holster, the garage door slowly opens to reveal the Underslums before her! As the cloudy virtual sky above her head painted a bleak work of dystopian art in front of her, the smell of gasoline and mildew slammed Noisette's nose with all the force of a sledgehammer.

Wary of the seedy underbelly surrounding her, the brunette walks past dimly lit LED signs and rusty stands run by old-model droids. Yup, this is what Noisette practically calls home. It's a hard-knock life, that's for sure. Onward, to the Dump!

Noisette makes her way through the narrow streets of the Underslums, taking in the cacophony of city ambience mixed with the sound of a unfortunate getting mugged and cheap vendors barking out tantalizing sales to draw in customers.

From the corner of her eye, in a narrow alleyway close by, the brunette klutz found something that made her green eyes sparkle! It’s gonna be one! The scent proves it! A trash can!! Noisette giddily scurries over to the steel wastebin, eyes darting all around it like a kid in a candy store! These babies usually have pretty good stuff people just throw away…and it’s FREE! Heck, maybe someone from “The City” could’ve dropped something from all the way up there! Oh, how tempting it is for Noisette to do some quick and early dumpster diving…might give her some practice for when she gets to the dump!

Cracking her knuckles, the klutzy brunette learned forward with her upper body hovering above the metal wastebin. Grey gloves hands rummage through the discarded trash pile in front of her until they make contact with something solid.

“C’moooonnnn, let’s see here…Aha!!!”

The goggles inventor’s hands feel something out of the ordinary. It certainly doesn’t feel like your average heap of trash! A smile creeps on Noisette’s face, knowing she struck something interesting. She slowly pulls it up to see she found…

Result: 10 + 2 - 5 = 7!

Noisette slowly pulls up the trash to reveal…a first-aid kit, and a pretty big one too! Her eyes sparkled with satisfaction.
“Wow—no WAY! Who the heck would leave something like this out in the trash?”
Noisette quietly asks herself, her eyes slowly scroll up to see a large steel chute among a maze of pipes wrapping around the alleyway. This chute is one of many that connects to the waste disposal facility located in The City. Sometimes, the trash of city folk end up in the Underslums. Noisette sighed at the fact.

“Man, people sure have it better up there. Throwing stuff like this away…Guess with money n’ fame, you can never get hurt, huh? If I make it big n’ live up there, maybe I’ll get to know the whole story…!”

Noisette sighed, before her gloved palms pat the sides of her head to psych her up. No time for moping around when there’s breakthroughs to be made!

“Now, to the dum-MuhhWHOAA—“

The minute she turned around on her heel, Noisette’s foot slipped on a puddle, causing her to fall on her bum and accidentally let go of the first-aid kit. She panicked as most of the contents were spilled into a nearby storm drain, losing them to the fast current of sewer water. Noisette’s mopey eyes looked at the metal bars of the storm drain, sad that all she has left from her find are 2 rolls of gauze bandages. She should count herself lucky she didn’t lose everything, but……things are about to get a bit worse!

The sound of tiny scampering feet can be heard, and coming closer FAST! Noisette gets up and turns to the direction of the sound!
>>
Emerging from the dark were two large rats, each 4 feet tall with incisors the size of a toothbrush! Their beady yellow eyes stare at the bandages in the first-aid kit, then back at Noisette, it was obvious that the pair of ferocious vermin want to claim the klutzy girl’s prize for themselves.

In the Underslums, the creatures that lurk about have adapted their bodies and evolved over many years to better suit the harsh climates of the bleak ghetto. What were once tiny rotten pests became formidable beasts, smarter and stronger than they would be anywhere in the world!

As the giant rats slowly close in on Noisette, the brunette weighs her options…She expected to get into a scuffle today, but not so soon. She has her blaster on her, she could just take out the rats here, but she doesn’t wanna waste ammunition. Who knows when Noisette could need this!

>Fight the Giant Rat Pair.

>Make a strategic retreat.

Noisette once again psyched herself up. That’s right…it’s now or never!!!

The klutzy brunette quickly picked up her duffel bag and bandages, immediately starting to book it!! The scavenging rodents notice her retreat and gave chase, their aggravated squeaks echo through the alleyway! Noisette picks up the pace, further away from the rats!

“They aren’t getting my stuff! Just a lil’ further…!!!!!”

Noisette immediately dashed into a full sprint, gaining major distance between her and her furry pursuers. Be it rats, hounds, thugs, she’s made her way outta worse messes! To the average Underslummer, this is nothing!! However, as soon as Noisette could see the alleyway clearing—

VOOM!! SLICE! CRACK! SHHHUNK—!!

The sound of searing plasma and pained squeaking caused Noisette to stop dead in her tracks. What just happened? She doesn’t hear the rats anymore! Did they…

Noisette was immediately taken out of her thoughts as
another sound of footsteps began to approach her from where she ran. These ones sound heavier than before, as if they belong to another human!

“There. That should make us even…Can’t help your weird-ass obsession with rummaging through garbage, eh?

From the shadows approached a woman, tall and skinny. Her bob of blonde hair stays still while walking, her long scarlet trenchcoat sticking out among the dank grey surroundings. The woman, donning a metal facemask, stopped in place a few feet from the brunette klutz. In her rat blood-stained hands, a lit cigarette and a state-of-the-art plasma whip, now turned off. Knowing who this is, Noisette was overjoyed in seeing the taller woman as she called her name.

“Ah! Wow!! Am I glad to see you, Malva!!!”

The chilly tall woman’s resting bitch face stared down at Noisette’s duffel bag, then the gauze bandages in her other hand.

“Humph, those two cheddar-for-brains got all antsy over a couple bandages? Whatever, they’re nothin’ but gorey strips now. Consider this payment for fixin’ up my bike last week, Noisette.

“W—Weeeell…it was a whole first aid kit before. Fresh from The City, too!!”

“Suck to be you, I guess. Headin’ to the dump, eh? Guess so, since you’ve got that bag of yours with ya’.”

The masked woman assumed, brushing a bit of hair from her face.

“Well, yea’. Need to find another laser pistol for my big invention, but Grandpa Tobin doesn’t want me making noise in his garage.”

“That? Y’ mean that MagiTawhatzit? Since you’re here, how ‘bout I come with? I’ve got business near that part of town, too.”

Malva offered. Her menacing looks aren’t just for show. Malva is a longtime member of the “Deathwings”, a smuggler’s guild from Neo-Perik that brings in illegal goods from neighboring nations, being it foreign tech, food, valuables, even Mana. People of the Underslums and city alike refer to this band of crooks as “ sky pirates ”.

“Deathwing business, huh? Sure, I could use some help! Don’t wanna get jumped by giant rats again, e-eheh!!”

Noisette cheerfully accepted Malva’s offer. The two’s interactions have been sparse lately, so she doesn’t mind catching up with an old friend!

Introductions aside, the two set off, once again making their way through the murky streets of the Underslums.

“Say, Malva…what sorta business is it?” Asked Noisette.

Humph, that’s classified info, straight from Boss Santana himself. Y’ know how he gets with secrets[/i.”

How could Nosiette forget? Santana: Captain of the Deathwings, and a scoundrel as stern as they come. His short temper and criminal record earned him many titles , such as “Death Merchant”, and “Black Mamba”. Rumor has it that he even possesses one of the Legendary Treasures , ten items of great and terrible power entrusted to members of the 10 Founding Families, the ones who brought order to the world and created its laws. Many believe he snagged it after raiding a wealthy noble’s luxury skyship.

“Well, he sure does love to keep things on the down low. Reminds me of how he kept nagging me for being so nosy.”

Added Noisette, causing Malva to lightly chuckle underneath her facemask.

“Heh, I’ll throw the Boss a good word for ya’ klutzy ass if this MagickTechnowhatever dream of yours goes to shit. We could always have ya’ back on the Deathwings.”

Malva offered, to which the brunette technomancer shook her head in refusal.

“Naaaah, the sky pirate’s life ain’t for me no more. Besides, I’ve got a good feeling about this. If I can find a good enough way to infuse Mana into technology, it’ll be City penthouses and 5-course meals for ol’ Noisette!!”

The aspiring klutz’s lips curved into a cheeky grin, baring a happy set of pearly whites!

Noisette tried to go ahead but was immediately stopped can the pale arm of that.
“—Stop. Quick, over here!”
The tall blonde moved towards a nearby wall, to which Noisette reciprocated. As the two hid, their eyes peered towards the corner to see 3 armed men suited up in black and red uniforms patrolling the nearby avenue. Patrolmen…officers of the New-Perit Police Force. How could Noisette forget that they patrol the dump at this time of day!

“Dammit! I knew I should’ve came earlier—“
“Oi. Zip it, dumbass! They’ll catch us if you talk too much.

The masked sky pirate angrily whispered.

“. . . I’m gonna sneak past ‘em, and if things get rough, we fight ‘em. Got it?”

“Right! But…you sure you can do it, Malva?”

“Don’t worry ‘bout it. When it comes to sneakin’ around, I’m unmatched…”
>>
RESULT: 8 + 2 (Acrobatics I) = 10!

“Y’ still remember how to sneak around, right? Follow my lead n’ stay behind me...”

Noisette nodded as the two sneaked back onto the street. Malva silently leaps into the air with expertise. Among the Deathwings, she always managed to smuggle treasure and cargo anywhere, anytime, and always under people’s noses. Following her movements exactly took everything Noisette had, and maybe a little more. After a few flips, jumps, and climbs over pipes, walls, and armed officers, Malva was back on solid pavement, hiding behind a wall. The masked pirate watched from a corner as Noisette tried to climb the last fire escape before reaching Malva. Her klutziness catches up to her, as the ladder holding the technomancer made a quick descent, making a high-pitched scraping sound.

“WHO’S THERE?!”

One Patrolman quickly turned around, laser rifle in hand, only to see…there was no one there. Keeping a steady aim at the fire escape for a few seconds, before shrugging it off.

“Hmph…breeze musta’ blew it down.”

Meanwhile, behind the wall, Noisette was busy catching her breath as a grouchy Malva had her eyes on an open path.

“Hah…hah…phew! Thanks for the quick save, Malva. Thought I was a goner back there!”

“Tch, keep your friggin’ thanks. If I wasn’t watchin’ ya’ , your ass would be swiss cheese by now. If ya’ wanna live to be a big time inventor or something, at least try to be less of a klutz.”

An annoyed Malva retracts her plasma whip’s “rope”, which was how she managed to save Noisette’s skin. The tall blonde then points to the road she was looking at.

“Over there. We take that road, those coppers won’t see us. We’ll be at the dump in a few short minutes.

With those Patrolmen out of the way, Noisette and Malva make their way across the solid blacktop of an empty road. Not a single car or bike can be seen, as Underslummers who live in this area don’t have the financial stability to own either of those things!

Noisette takes in the crisp ghetto air as the two stare down the iron gates and towering barbed fence that form the entrance to the Underslums’ main waste management facility: The Dump . Hundreds of trash heaps can be seen from a distance, some of which taller than most buildings! Scrap, discarded materials, valuable possessions some might’ve accidentally left behind…Noisette’s sparkly eyes widen at the thought. ‘‘Twas a scavenger’s stomping grounds, and a Technomancer’s paradise!

[ AND THAT’S THE END OF SESSION 2! STAY TUNED FOR NEXT MONDAY, WHERE NOISETTE CAN FINALLY DO SOME MUCH NEEDED DUMPSTER DIVING!! ]
>>
Rolled 19 (1d20)

It was a magnificent sight. Even though Noisette has been to the dump thousands of times, the sight of those colossal towers of trash are enough to bring a tear to her eye.

Some people view trash as just that, trash. If you don’t like something, you can just throw it away and forget about it. But, Noisette doesn’t think that. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and the clumsy inventor will sure as hell find great use in the stuff people throw away! Besides who wouldn’t say no to finding useful stuff, and NOT having to pay for it?!

Like a kid in a candy store, Noisette runs over to the nearest trash tower, rummaging through it like a rabid dog! Malva stays put, however…she did say she had business at the dump, so perhaps she’s waiting for someone?

Noisette brings out her shovel, starting to rummage and shift through one particular mound of trash that caught her attention! Scrap metal of various shapes and sizes are slowly being shoved into the duffel bag she carried with her. It’s a scavenger’s paradise!!

“Wow…Hey, Malva!! There’s so much scrap here! Old car parts, hi-frequency swords, old blasters, if I could refurbish this stuff, I could make some awesome weapons! Sure ya’ don’t want some?!”

Malva looked over to the excited Noisette, busy smoking a cigarette through her mask.

“Bleh. Who do I look like usin’ that old crap??”

Noisette snickers, proud that Malva is as grouchy as she was back then! The brunette continues to dig around until-CLINK!!!

“......??”

Her shovel managed to hit something…strange. She’s used to the feeling of trash and scrap metal on her shovel, but it’s hard to explain. The thing she felt was just… peculiar feeling!! Noisette slowly slips the item out of the heap to get a better look at it, but her gaze was met with shock and bewilderment!! She held the mystery object in her hands: It was a gun, a HUGE gun…well, it looked like a gun thingy, one encased in a hard black rock!! The gun-shaped object was etched onto the stone so primitively, it's like some weird fossil!! Noisette couldn’t imagine something like this in the dump! It SHOULD be in a museum exhibit or something!!
>>
“Hey!! Malva!! Look at this!!”

Noisette grabs her full duffel bag and slides down the trash heap. She runs towards Malva, black fossil clutched in her hands! As soon as she sees it, the masked blonde cocked a surprised brow. Though most of her face was covered, it was obvious the navigator was intrigued!

“The…fuck is that? It’s like one of those swirly shells that get fossilized…and you just found it in the heaps?”

“Yeah, that’s what I’m saying! It’s real heavy too, so it’s not a toy or a prop or anything, I’m sure!! This might be a real deal treasure!

Malva hasn’t seen Noisette this excited unless she’s working on her inventions!! Just by her expression alone, she can tell the giddy brunette wasn’t joking around. Think of it as a…Deathwing’s intuition.

“Oi . . . what’s this I’m hearin’ about treasure?? Well, Malva?”

A quiet, but demanding voice can be heard close by, causing Noisette and Malva to turn to its source!

“Shhhhheeeeeehhhhhh……Figured you’d be in this trash hive.STILL think you’re too good for the Deathwings? ”

“He” stood before them: A tall man with green hair covered in bandages. His large black coat draped over his lanky body as he and two other lackeys in identical outfits walked towards the two dump spelunkers, who instantly recognize who he is!

“Boss Santana? That you?!”

Exclaimed Noisette! Santana, Captain of the Deathwings, scans the two and the surrounding area with piercing purple eyes! Even in a casual situation like this, every move the sky pirate made was so cold and precise, as if he’s always watching his own back. An outlaw, through and through. He leans forward into Noisette’s personal space, staring only at the fossilized device in her hands.

“…This the treasure, huh? Some rock with a gun in it? Don’t see what’s so special about it, lest for being a paperweight. Then again, it’s out of the ordinary for sure. Where did you find this, huh lil’ miss “Ex-Shipwright” . . . ?”

Noisette remained unfazed at the menacing Santana’s tone. Without her, the Deathwings would be without their great flagship, the “Invincible”, soaring through the vast skies and striking fear upon enemies and bourgeois alike! Remembering her great skills as a shipwright when not working with scrap metal all the time rushes back to Noisette!

NEW SKILL ACQUIRED:

Metalworking I: + 2 for rolls involving building weapons, vehicles and other metal constructions. +2 for rolls involving repairing metal objects.

“…But, I am curiousssSsSsSsssss. Fossils usually sell for shitton of Gs…museums in the City clamor for these, anything to keep tourists comin’ , you know? How ‘bout I take it off your hands, and you get half the cut…? Not like you know what it is, anyway. How’s that sound, old buddy…?”

Noisette weighed her options. A fossil like this can almost certainly rack in a ton of Gs, her grandpa would be real happy about that! But…there’s something about the object within the black stone that’s totally pulling the klutzy girl in! She can’t explain it, but it’s almost like she was meant to find something this rare…!

Cool gun in a rock? Gotta keep it and get it out so we can use it. No thanks. Besides its pieces like this that might mean a future breakthrough in her career as a shipwright! Plus those museum types would probably mean nosy officials, especially if its not just a rock.

A lucky find to be sure! But a lucky find is all it is. Sad to see something so unique go, but think of all the stuff we can buy! We'll probably have no problem completing our current project, and the next after that too. Steady progress over mad science is no fun, but we're literally dumpster diving for scraps. In a city like this, someone would probably end up stealing it from us anyhow.

“Sorry, Boss Santana. But I’m gonna hafta’ take a pass on that! You’ve always said that if anyone on the crew finds something, it’s finders-keepers! It’s one of the golden rules, right?”

Santana clicks his tongue in visible disappointment, yet the sky pirate captain quickly maintains his usual stern composure. Curses, stopped by the Deathwings’ pirate code!

“Hmph, I’ll give you credit for at least managing to remember that. Fine…..Malva, come. I’ll be at the gate so we can discuss tomorrow’s preparations.”

With a dramatic swish of his black coat, Santana beckons Malva to follow him and his crew to another gate at the dump. The masked navigator nodded and followed her captain, not saying a word to Noisette. With that, the klutzy inventor was left to her own devices. Guess she should head back to the garage and get a closer look at the black fossil!!
>>
THE NEXT MORNING…

‘‘Twas another day, and the virtual sky above the Underslums remains a dark grey, even though it rarely ever “rains” in the bleak ghetto. Noisette was in her grandpa’s garage, lying down on her cheap futon. She spent most of the night staring at the black fossil she found the night before, inspecting every nook and cranny of the stone and the gun-shaped object embedded within in. She’s tried everything: cutting it, smashing it, talking to it, shooting it with a laser pistol, tasting it, but she can’t seem to get the peculiar object to do anything! Noisette assumed the thing was a useless movie prop or some arts and crafts project, but people in the City throw away good stuff all the time, throwing it away would invalidate Noisette’s principles of being a scavenger and inventor! Besides, she gets an uneasy feeling when she looks at the black fossil, as if they were a parent and child. The klutzy girl pinched two fingers against her temples, trying to get her mind off the stone for now.

Meanwhile, a knock can be heard at the front of the house. Grandpa Tobin sloooowly inches towards the door, anticipating the newspaper, today’s issue contains this week’s Crossword puzzle. The door slowly creaks open and leaves the elderly man in shock. What Grandpa Tobin assumed to be the usual meek and young paper boy, was the lanky, towering figure of a certain infamous man, quiet hisses peeping out of his bandages and facemask.

“Y…Ya’…Whaddya’ think y-yer’…”

Stammered the old veteran, his shaky hands almost dropping his cane!

“It’s been a long time, gramps…is your granddaughter home?”

Holding a pickaxe in her hands, Noisette was about to make yet another futile attempt to break the black fossil open when the garage door opened to reveal NOT a nagging Grandpa Tobin in front of it, but the menacing presence of Santana! He gives the klutz a monotonous stare while he watched Noisette stop mid-swing, eyes widened at the tall sky pirate.

“Ehhhhehehehe…It isn’t what it looks like…?”

Noisette drops the pickaxe and laughs nervously, much to Santana’s unamused look.

“Wouldja’ hurry up with that? We’ll be waiting outside…”

The curious inventor arches a brow, perplexed.

“Huh? Whaddya’ mean? You know I’m not part of the Deathwings anymore, right?”

As Santana was about to head back outside, his cold violet eyes turned to Noisette. Clearly, he’s not playing around.

“Just grab your stuff and head outside. It ain’t safe for us to talk out here.”

Noisette took a deep breath and collected her thoughts. What could Santana be planning, and why does he need Noisette? It all seems weird…then again…she owes the imposing captain for providing her with that vial of Mana she used for her most recent “project”. As the brunette inventor packs some stuff for the trip ahead: Laser Pistol, Hi-Freq Dagger, Bandages, among other things, she spots the black fossil from the corner of her eye. Something tells her she won’t be at home for a while, considering the length of the Deathwings’ “voyages”, so she places it in the duffel bag juuuuust in case she gets an idea on how to open the thing! Fully equipped, Noisette dashes out the door after giving Grandpa Tobin a quick “I’ll be back later, Grandpa!!”, the elderly legal guardian on his recliner still trying to figure out why THE “Death Merchant” Santana was at his front door, in HIS house?!

After what felt like an hour of walking through ghetto streets, Noisette and the Deathwings traverse through the Underslums until they reach the slums’ harbor, known as the “Bay Area”, rarely touched by the watchful eyes of the Patrolmen. Just like the rest of Neo-Perik’s underbelly, the ports were made of a bleak concrete as grey waves crash onto the harbor’s surface, the filthy water could easily be recognized for sludge. To the right was a large warehouse, abandoned and in a severe state of disrepair…it was the Deathwings’ secret hideout, the crew usually gathering over here when they’re not aboard the Invincible.

Santana urges Noisette to follow him into the warehouse entrance, the two created by Malva at the front door.

“Brought her, huh? Y’ sure she’ll be useful here, Boss Santana?”

Malva asked, nonchalantly holding a lit cigarette in her gloved hand.

“Yea’ . . . Noisette’s skills’ll be needed for this. I guess running into her last night was a blessing in disguise.”

The klutz in question arches her brow. What are they even talking about?? Inside, Santana slouches on a large couch left near a few crates, like a lot of other furniture and treasures scattered across the Deathwings’ base, treasures the Deathwings stole, obviously.

“SssSsssSsSit.”

Santana gave a demanding hiss to Noisette, who nervously sits on a chair opposite of the couch.

“Listen, Noisette. You might be outta the Deathwings, but you’ve still got a debt to pay. Smuggling Mana from outta Engrerain ain’t easy, and it doesn't come cheap.”

“C’mon, spit it out already, Boss Santana! Why’d ya’ bring me all the way to the Bay Area?!”

Santana shut the meek klutz up with only a loud sigh. Seems like he was about to get to that.

“ 2 nights ago, in a valley within Diezauberei…a meteor fell from the ssSsSsSsSssky. Rumor has it that when a few of our scouts got a look of the thing, he got blasted by some serious magick energy. Cuz’ of that, we’re short on manpower. That’s where you come in, kid.”

Noisette’s eyes widened. Diezauberei was one of the 3 Founding Nations of Magick. She’s never stepped onto its soil, even as a Shipwright for the Deathwings!

“A client of ours called straight from the town near the crash sssSsSsSsSssite, offerin’ us a shit ton of Gs if we get the meteor from ‘em. They called it a ‘fragment of a star’ , or some Magi nonsense like that.”

“For real?! That sounds great, Boss Santana, but…..”

“—But before that, we need your input on somethin’.”

Malva suddenly interjected, pacing around the two as Santana briefs Noisette on the assignment.

“Santana here thinks we should take the Invincible and fly it over the Strasbourg Wall, since that path’ll get us to Diezauberei real quick. The thing is, the friggin’ place is an impenetrable fortress crawlin’ with Engrerainian troops, inside n’ out…they’ll probably shoot us down, even if we disguise the ship. It’s a suicide mission, dontcha’ THINK?!”

Malva’s aggravated tones were definitely intended for Santana, who seems to be equally ticked off.

“…and our high n’ mighty ice queen over here’s sayin’ we make our way there on foot, under the wall n’ through the Sewer Complex. First of all, it’s nasty as fuck down there, Two, the place is teeming with colonies of ferocious creatures, and Three, it’s nasty as fuck down there. We’ll be torn to shreds if we aren’t careful.”

With majority rules tying the vote 1-1, it’s up to Noisette to break the tie!!

What if we don't fly the ship over the wall but do a night time fly by! Send the recovery team over the wall on personal gliders small enough to be mistaken for big magic birds.
>>
“Well, Malva’s idea sounds pretty good. It shouldn’t be that much of a problem if we take that route. I don’t want the Invincible to turn into Swiss cheese, y’know?”

Santana’s head slumps down in frustration and defeat as Malva sticks her tongue at him behind her pink mask.

“LissssSsSsten. What if we just…..don’t get cau—”

“Oh, shut up. The vote is 1-2, now be a Captain of your word!”

Malva mockingly strikes down Santana’s retort.

“…Fine, but if I fall into a pile of shit or somethin’, I’m takin’ the both of you down with me.”

Santana slowly got up from the large couch. With a dramatic flip of his black coat, the bandaged sky pirate captain gets a headstart and walks away. Noisette gets up from her chair too, giving Malva a look.

“Hey, is anyone else going with us…?”

“No, It’ll just be us three. The Patrolmen’ll freak if they see

Noisette, Malva, Santana. With the party of 3 now confirmed, they set out to the deepest depths of the Underslums in order to make their quote. The journey between borders will be perilous, and even though the three seem to be ready, what would fate have in store for them beyond this point?!

Oh, how high it stood. The Strasbourg Wall, the enormous border wall that connects Engrerain to Diezauberei…Over 1600 meters tall and thousands upon thousands of miles in length. Its main purpose is to keep the people from the neighboring Founding Nation of Magick out, and any who so much as get caught too close to the wall will be shot on sight. Luckily, Noisette and crew are stealthy as all jazz! From behind the corner of a building, the three stare at the enornous impenetrable construction…it was the first time seeing it this close!

“Okay…here’sssssSsSsSss the plan…”

Santana points to a manhole close by, sealed shut by what looks to be a large padlock.

“We Deathwings been in those sewers more times than I can count…That manhole’s our ticket in there, but unfortunately Patrolmen keep it locked so none of those Magi can sneak their way in.”

He then gives a glance to Malva, who nods back as if they’ve done this sort of thing thousands of times before.

“Leave it me, Boss Santana. Lockpicking’s my forte…”

Sneaking over to the manhole, Malva reached into her pockets and pulled out a sharp knife-like object. Kneeling down, she inserts the sharp end of the object into the lock’s keyhole, fiddling and experimenting with the locking mechanisms inside. Which one of these things will tick…seems the lock changed since she last came here with the other Deathwings.

After a good couple minutes of fiddling, the padlock made an audible CLICK before unlocking. Now that she’s done her job, Malva beckons the other two to get over to the manhole. Santana quickly opens the lid and tosses it aside, giving the party of sky pirates (and Noisette) access to the Underslums’ lowest level.

“So…whose goin’ down first?”

Malva asked, lighting up a cigarette.

Noisette volunteered to go in first, then Malva, then Santana. The bandaged Captain did NOT want to endure the filth of the Sewer System once again.

After a slow descent, Noisette and the Deathwings climb into the dank pit that is beneath the Strasbourg Wall. The rusty bronze platings, red bricks and massive fans give off unique surroundings one can’t find in the Underslums or the City. The hum of sewage treatment plants and running water within large pipes fills the large space. Just like the Underslums, this place is a shithole. Only literally.

Santana’s disgusted grimace never left his masked face as he pulls out a large roll of paper from his coat: The Sewer System’s layout.

“Alright…we are here, and that corridor with all those pipes stickin’ out leads straight to Diezauberei’s sewage treatment plant. Long assssSssSs we move slowly n’ nonchalantly, no vermin or Patrolmen’ll be able to catch us. Now…let’sssSsSss move.”

Santana took the lead, keeping his facemask pressed close to his nose. If there’s one thing he hates more than being gamed, it’s FILTH.

The sounds of faint clanging metal echoes beneath the party’s feet. The dimly lit corridor emitted an ominous aura, like anything can just…pop out at any second! Noisette looked around the dank path, laser pistol by her hip. She then stared at the stoic Santana, asking:

“Hey, Boss Santana. That rock…what’d you think it might be?”

“How should I know, our client didn’t give us much detailsSsSsSsSsSsss. For all I know, it could just be the residue of some stupid magick trick gone wrong. Wouldn’t put it past these damn Magi for being so flashy yet careless.”

Also, very sorry about yesterday’s choice! Thought it was a good idea and didn’t realize how dumb it was till after I sent it!!

Breaking the silence as they cross along a river of raw sewage, Noisette asks:

“Hey, how’re we supposed to carry it back…aren’t space rocks supposed to be like, really heavy?”

Santana turns his gaze away from the map, and replies:

“We’re not the ones that are gonna be takin’ it back. Our client says they’ll be takin’ care of the heavy lifting. We just need to keep the thing in one place ‘till the client arrivesSSssSsSs.”

Noisette scratched her chin for a moment. Who IS the person they’re doing this for, and what’s so important about that meteor to ask for the Deathwings’ help?

“…Like those scouts you sent were gonna do? What happened to ‘em anyway?”

“Like I sSsSsSsaid before, they got hit with some magick after touching the thing. They told me it was a huge ass shockwave or somethin’ , n’ they were lucky to fly outta Diezauberei with their lives.”

Noisette tilts her head, suddenly getting an uneasy feeling. Something’s been bothering her since they stepped foot into the corridor. Creatures lurk around these parts all the time, so it’s always important to stay vigilant.

“…and if anyone shows up to take the meteor?”

“Quit sayin’ obvious shit, Noisette. Rumors fly fast, so I’ve already got it covered. Deathwings’ golden rule #5…if anyone shows up to take our quota…”

Malva then interjects, lit cigarette in hand.

The skittering gets louder, progressively sounding closer with each passing second! Noisette looks at Santana, and it seems he can hear it too. It’s not coming from solid ground, but from the rushing river of sewage right next to them!

Suddenly, a large killer crocodile pops out of the sewer river and in front of Noisette’s party, gnashing its ravenous crooked teeth. Noisette aims her laser pistol at the large reptile, now with no way to escape…it’s time to fight!!

As she was about to engage the crocodile, Santana put a bandaged arm in front of our hero.

“You, stay put. Leave this thing to me.”

An interjecting Malva says—

“Boss Santana! You aren’t gonna…here of all places?!”

“Malva. We can’t afford any interruptions, that’s why I plan to kill thissSsSsSsssSs thing quickly. Besides, it’s been way too long since I had an excuse to use this thing.”

With an overextended arm, a light green construct of light and digital circuits start to manifest, extending longer and longer until the construct reaches the size of Santana’s body. Noisette’s eyes widen as she looks at the weapon in the pirate’s hand, a long green spear emitting great technological power!

“No way…it really is!! The Legendary Treasure… DAMIAN’S GREED!”
>>
Rolled 3 (1d20)

“DAMIAN’S GREED” . . . one of the 10 Legendary Treasures created by the Founding Families 2000 years ago. This particular spear-like weapon was created by Damian De Leon ,founding member of the De Leon family, who created the spear to be in link with the wielder’s nervous system and dramatically increase their speed and reflexes.

With this powerful weapon, Santana became known throughout the world as a sky pirate who cannot be trifled with. With many battles under his belt, fighting a mere crocodile would be child’s play!

“SSsSsSsSsSsStand back. I’m really feeling it now…!”

As Santana was about to strike, he wasn’t able to notice an unexpected coming at the sky pirate from the back…ANOTHER crocodile!! Even stranger, it managed to smack Santana into the rushing sewage below with its mighty tail!

The bandaged sky pirate emerged from the murky river, a FUMING livid expression on his bandaged face! If there’s anything he hates more than being gamed, it’s FILTH, and now he’s covered in the shit! But worst of all…he appears to be unarmed!

“NO! Shitshitshit—Where the hell is the stupid spear?! That damn thing was supposed to make me almost untouchable!”

In a rare moment of desperation, Santana digs his hands into the rushing river of sewage, trying to find Damian’s Greed and not vomit in the process! Though, he seemed to have left himself wide open for the two crocs to attack!

“Noisette, quick! Get ready! We gotta jump in before Boss Santana gets mangled!”

“Yeah! Right, Malva!!”

Malva brandishes her signature plasma whip and Noisette readies her laser pistol. Now it’s REALLY time to fight!

Malva flings her whip about and wraps it against one of the crocodile’s tails, smashing it against the wall. The large reptile frees itself from the wall, in a daze, but the other one charges Malva in anger! Noisette aims her gun and fires a bolt of energy out of it, hitting the crocodile in the arm, but it wasn’t enough to stop its charge. Well, at least they saved Santana for the time being, who is still rummaging desperately through the river of sewage to find his sacred weapon!

The rampaging crocodile then TACKLED Noisette to the floor, pinning her down with its intense weight. A panicked Noisette couldn’t believe it…how are they getting overpowered like this? Crocodiles aren’t supposed to be this powerful! What’s going on?! With the large reptile opening its massive jaws, Malva quickly notices and hurries over to the trapped Noisette!
>>
Rolled 14 (1d20)

Noisette gulps down and prepares for the worst, but the masked female Deathwing kicks the sewer snapper off her with a single breath, sending it back into the river next to them! The klutzy adventurer was in awe…where’s Malva been hiding all that physical strength?

“Get up, Noisette. I don’t thing that thing’s done with us, yet!”

Speaking of the devil, the large crocodile jumps from the sewage and groups up with the other crocodile, no longer dazed. They leap toward the two girls, preparing another attack!!
>>
“NOW, Malva!!”

“Yeah. Keep em stunned in the air, and I’ll deal the killing blow!”

Noisette looks at her laser pistol, instinctively setting the weapon to “STUN”, and fires a concentrated shot at the approaching sewer gators! BULLSEYE! With them now suspended in the air, thanks to the laser pistol’s stunning capabilities, Malva gives their exposed undersides one powerful lash, hitting them so hard, they were practically sliced in half. The two gators were no more, their hard bodies and soft splattering onto the floor. Noisette tries to catch her breath after the whole ordeal…what a fight…it’s insane how unshaken Malva seems to be even while the klutz almost became croc food! Speaking of Malva, the masked lady turns over to her frantic captain.

“Boss Santana. Found it yet?”
>>
Cut to Santana, who raises Damian’s Greed in his hand, also out of breath. The legendary spear dematerializes as the pirate captain tries to compose himself.

“You alright, Malva.”

“Yeah…those gators gave us some shit, bu—”

“Don’t. Talk. About sSsSsSsSsShit. Ever again.”

With that out of the way, the three-man party continues on their way to Diezauberei, Malva and Noisette are now much farther away from Santana. He certainly smelled like someone rummaging through sewage for a priceless artifact.

“That…was way too weird.”

Noisette pops a sentence, to which Malva then responds—

“…You noticed too, eh?”

“Yeah. Those crocodiles were way stronger than they usually are. We should’ve been done with those things way easier. It’s like my MagiTek—as if…they’ve been enhanced by something else. I…I-I dunno—“

Malva tries to light a cigarette, holding it out as a makeshift torch.

“Some science freak roided em’ out, maybe? Maybe they got their hand on some junkie’s coke n’ crack. Who knows?”

With the gator problem out of the way, the party presses on the deep dark path of the sewer tunnel, a dim clearing can be spotted after some long walking.

Santana looks at the layout prints and says: “That clearing leads to another treatment plant. We’re about halfway to Diezauberei now.”

Malva nods with confidence, but Noisette still feels uneasy. That awful skittering sound wasn’t from those crocodiles earlier, and it doesn’t seem to have let up either. Something is following the group, but the klutzy hero can’t tell what…

Regardless, they reach the clearing and peek at the wide open area in front of them, filled with vats, tubes, intricate machines and….a couple of Patrolmen? Well, the Sewer System was under the maximum security Strasbourg Wall, with one of the Engrerainian Army’s top military bases within the massive wall-like fortress. Of course they’d have some of their Patrolmen guarding this part of the treatment plant.

“Looks like there’s a couple of ‘em there. I’ll knock ‘em out and clear a path.”

A peering Malva looks from a corner. Seems going in guns blazing would be the worst outcome right now, especially after their last encounter!

Showing off her stealthy acrobatic prowess to the other two, Malva quickly leaps into the air, mitigating the sound of her ascent thanks to the Deathwing’s speed and…light weight. It was these qualities that allowed Malva to leap into a long pipe reaching close to the ceiling. Flawlessly standing on the narrow pipe as she looks down on the 3 Patrolmen so unaware of the sky pirate right over their noses.

“Hey, forgot to mention.” One Patrolman said to another. “Did anyone hear the noise earlier?? Came from the pipe system leading to Neo-Perit.”

“Humph, that thing probably got hungry again.” Another of the armored troopers grunts. “You’re new to patrol duty in this part of the wall, so I don’t blame ya’ not knowing. Word has it that some creature’s lurking in the Sewer System, eatin’ rats n’ crocs n’ just making a whole ruckus. Heard it even ate some Magi immigrants tryin’ to get into the city. Hmph, serves those hocus-pocus scumbags right.”

“Hey…You don’t thing it’s gonna show up here, right?”

“I doubt i—ACK!!”

The Patrolman suddenly fell unconscious before he could finish his sentence. The other two troopers had shocked expressions underneath their visors!

“H-Hey, what happened? You alri—GAHk!!”

Then another fell to the floor, causing the 3rd Patrolman to aim his weapon at the ceiling, only to find nothing there…! But unsuspected to the armored man, Malva was right behind him, delivering a swift chop to the neck, shutting down the guard’s vitals temporarily. And just like that, the obstacles were neutralized. Malva stares at the other two, waiting for her to give the signal, to which she does.

“Let’s move. I’m betting backup’s gonna show up in a minute or two!”

Noisette, Santana and Malva picked up the pace. They were almost out of this shitty dump and time is of the essence. As they ran through the dump, Noisette immediately stopped in place, eyes sparkling with the shine of a gemstone! Could it be…?! A…A…trashcan?! Here of all places?! A dream come true!

Noticing Noisette fell behind, Santana and Malva stopped in place to watch Noisette slowly creep towards the tempting metal wastebin. The Deathwing Captain certainly wasn’t happy.

“Now ain’t the time to be lookin’ at MORE garbage here! Move your ass, Noisette!”

Santana snapped back! After their recent encounters with the creatures of the sewers, the Captain doesn’t seem to want to take chances!

Noisette huffs, but whatever Malva wants, Malva gets.

After what felt like an eternity of trecking, another clearing, brighter than the one from before, can be seen. Santana sighed a breath of relief as he looked at the layout prints.

“There it iSSsSsSssSs…! Just a little more walking and we’re out of this shithole!”

Santana’s never sounded happier, maybe it’s because he doesn’t have to endure another embarrassing scenario like last time! But, as Noisette and co advance further in, something else comes into view…

A giant wall, made up of a mysterious and thick black substance. Noisette knocked on the sludge-like blockade. It was hard, too. Noisette’s gun or Malva’s plasma whip won’t be able to do much to penetrate it, but luckily…they have someone with a Legendary Treasure in their party! Santana would step forward to clear the blockad—

“SANTANA, STOP!!”

Halting in place, Damian’s Greed in hand, Santana looked back at Noisette, who called to him, then back at the sludge wall. The wall…suddenly swiped at him with a large bone claw! Santana quickly stepped back away from the sudden attack, now in front of the party brandishing their weapons.

The wall slowly began to morph and contort into a different shape…“it’s” usual shape. That’s when it hits Noisette. This thing is . . . !

The thing was a MASSIVE blob of sludgy darkness, armed with 2 massive boney claws. Its shape is always contorting and shifting, as if it’s body couldn’t settle on a single form. It’s face, if that’s even it’s face, was a simple round white mask, with 3 small dots resembling eyes and a mouth. It slithers towards the three with mysterious intent…This is it, Noisette thought. This thing must be the monster that was stalking them through the Sewer System! But…what even is it? It’s no giant rat or sewer gator, that’s before.

Noisette and co. brandish their weapons at the gurgling black creature, it seems unfazed as its twisting shadow blankets the three. Santana, however, seems most intent on killing this creature, Damian’s Greed pointed at it with gusto!

( “This thing is…No way…!! What is sSsSsSsSssomething like this doing there?” )

But, it’s no time to think! TIME TO ACT!

Noisette tensed up as the mysterious Shadow Blob lunges towards them, its massive bone claws lunging towards the group with impressive speeds for something of such mass! She looks at Malva, a bead of sweat rolling down her face.

“Malva…when I touched that thing earlier, it felt really tough, but still moldable…like dry silly putty! If we hit it hard enough, we might be able to do some good damage to it!”

“Right…I think we should try to—”

“GRRAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!”

The girls’ planning was suddenly interrupted by Santana, sprinting madly towards the masked blob! He grips onto Damian’s Greed with such ferocity, his hand’s red. A deranged, bloodshot look from his violet eyes makes itself known as he leaps towards the shadowy monster.

“Boss Santana?! What are you doing?? C-Control yourself!!”

Malva yelled at her captain, who seems to be acting strangely! Santana’s moves are so precise, yet uncomposed, as if he’s lost his senses! The spearhead of Damian’s Greed glows a bright yellowish green, crackling with lightning as he points the legendary weapon at his target!

“SPIRAL ZEPHYRRRRRR!!!”

A powerful force of technomancy bursts forth from futuristic spear, blasting forth onto the Shadow Blob’s body with an intense spiral of techno energy! Santana’s rage-filled glare does not fade as he doesn’t seem to let up the attack!

Santana’s attack doesn’t seem to let up at all! As he and the Shadow Blob had a moment of airtime, the Deathwing Captain proceeded to violently stab and stab the writhing creature, each stab piercing more and more into its liquidish body.

“DIE! DIE! SsSsSsSSSUFFER, THEN GO TO HELL, JUST LIKE YOU DID TO—”

Unaware of his surroundings, the Shadow Blob managed to grasp Santana in its massive claws? Throwing him down to the sewer floor. He lands down backfirst, skidding behind the other two in a daze. Seems Santana put a lot more into than attack that usual, as his breaths were heavy and ragged…but for what reason?

Noisette notices the Shadow Blob makes its advance towards the party, but this time, a strange red orb can be seen, slightly cracked and exposed after Santana’s onslaught of attacks! It slowly goes out of view as it’s black sludge-like mass regrows and mends the wound. That must be it!

“Guys!!”

Noisette spoke out!

“That red orb thing must be its weak spot! If we hit it hard enough, we can expose it again and take it down!”

>The Shadow Blob’s weak point can only be exposed after 3 rolls of 11 or higher!!

SANTANA ROLL: 5

As the Shadow Blob makes its way towards the brunette klutz, Noisette fires 2 shots at the gurgling creature’s “abdomen”, each shot dividing its shadowy mass by just a tad, though she does manage to keep it stunned.

“THOUSER LASH!!”

Seeing the opening given to her by Noisette, Malva immediately follows up with a powerful slashing motion from her whip! The Shadow Blob recoils in pain as its body was dealt a lash that removed a lot of its “skin” from that area. So far, so good.

“Boss Santana, now!! Before that thing can attack!”

Noisette yelled to the sky pirate captain, out of breath and trying to get up. His breathing was as heavy and irregular as before…seems those earlier attacks took a lot out of him. Though, he snaps himself back up and charges towards the Shadow Blob, about to deal a strong thrust with Damian’s Greed. Suddenly, Santana’s arm just…gives out, causing him to wince in pain as he deals an ineffective strike. The damage the Shadow Blob took from that was minimal…

>Rolling for the Shadow Blob’s attack…
>>
With a long stare from its white innocent-looking mask, the Shadow Blob raises its massive bone claw and uses it to smack Santana aside, sending his limp flying into the sewage river below!

“B-BOSS SANTANA!!”

Noisette cried out!

“Tch—what the hell was he doing? If he didn’t hesitate like that, we might’ve taken the thing down!!”

Though, Santana’s current predicament was the least of the girls’ worries! Suddenly, the Shadow Blob let out a piercing scream before a dark purple hue glows from its bone-like arms. It thrusted them towards the other two party members, shooting powerful bolts of purple lightning!!

“W-Wait, THAT’S—”

Before Noisette can finish, the lightning strikes both her and Malva, sending them both flying a few feet back!! Noisette felt like she hit her back so hard, she probably snapped her spine in two. It’d be comical if they weren’t in such a dire situation. But something else seems to be on her mind, a thought she cannot believe!!

“M-Malva, that thing…but that’s impossible! It..I-It can use MAGICK!!!”

RESULTS:

NOISETTE - 3

MALVA - 12

SANTANA - 8

The intense bolts of dark lightning blasting from the Shadow Blob’s boney fingertips caught the party off guard!! To the knowledge of Noisette, no random creature from the sewers should be capable of magick…it just didn’t make any sense!

Shocked, Noisette didn’t get a chance to attack, as the creature’s magick struck her arm, singing it! The gun-toting brunette yelped in pain as she sprawled onto the floor. Noisette grips her burnt arm tightly, moving it proves itself to be difficult without a searing pain shooting up her entire body! Another swipe from those claws was coming up to deliver a decisive strike to the injured Noisette, when all of a sudden, its claw was then tied in place by Malva’s whip, then stabbed by Santana’s mighty spear!

[ >ROLLING FOR THE SHADOW BLOB’S TURN… ]
>>
The gurgling fiend attempts to swipe with a free claw, but Malva and Santana grit their teeth and attempted to throw the Shadow Blob off the ground and into the wall, successful thanks to the strength of Damien’s Greed!

Sliding and slipping back onto the floor like a spill on Aisle 13, the Shadow Blob immediately reforms, it’s “face” making gurgling sounds in anger.

“Noisette. Can you get up?”

Santana asked she the girl slowly rose to her feet, trying to keep her singed right arm from moving.

“Y-Yeah…A-Ah—Luckily, I’m a-ambidextrous…but I was better with my right than my left…heh…”

“B-But—”

Noisette tries to interject, clutching her injured arm in pain.

“Boss Santana—My good arm’s been fried. What if I miss! I’m too klutzy to—”

“Don’t think about miSSsSsing. When the opportunity shows up, you act. Being a klutz will get you killed. You gotta get over it!!”

Thrusting its body towards the party, the Shadow Blob quickly advances forward!! Malva quickly wrapped her plasma whip around its body, while Santana delivers a stab towards its claw to keep it from attacking too!

“Do it, Noisette!!”

Holding her laser pistol in her left hand, Noisette takes a deep breath…no time to think about slipping up. She can’t afford to miss here! Noisette’s hand no longer trembles…the pain from her body means nothing, and with that…she pulls the trigger.

“BOOSTED SHOT!”

With a concentrated attack that overlords her pistol’s power core, it makes contact with the damaged Shadow Blob! As the beast twitches and trembles, the strange red orb was exposed again! There it is, the Shadow Blob’s weak point!
