It has been 100 years since ancient beings, known as the Old Ones, walked the Earth with their two strong feet. Now they are gone and we animals now rule the remains that they left behind. With our new knowledge of sword and sorcery, we were able to survive in peace for a while, but then came the three factions. The Apes: Strong giants, claiming to be as just as the old ones and believe they should be the ones to rule over the new world. The Pigs: An intellectual but slothful group who wish to rule the world with an iron hoof and remain kings while the others remained as dumb animals. Then there the Lizards: A fast and large group that want to set the world a blaze. Trying to forget the harsh past that the old ones left. All three sides wishing to go war and destroy one another to bring in what they believe to be true peace. But, unbeknownst to everyone, there was another group. One that was trying their best to find a way to heal everyone. To bring back order. You found it.... and now you are taking care of it.A D&D Homebrew Adventure.Previous Quests:https://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Rise%20of%20the%20Awakened

>>6318864I will be as well.
What happened last time at RotA!>Ursus escaped prison and went on as a rat to find the dealer while Mog stayed.>They eventually found him and Maggie threw the bear turned rat turned back into a bear and captured him with ease. What will our heroes do now.Find out today.
Just waiting now.
>>6319139I'm here. Didn't think I'd be nearly this late, but here we are. Just waiting on Ursus.
Ah, it seems Ursus was here for several hours, just that he was looking at the other thread. In fact, he was waiting on you QM.
>>6319164Well I'm a fucking idiot.
>>6319175 >>6319175I’m here now
>>6319194>Ursus and Maggie end up dragging the humanoid figure to the old church.>Fortunately with your bear strength you and very precise rope tying the two of you get there with no problems.>Suspicious glances here and there but hey no one is really doing anything.>Eventually you guys get to the old church. What do you do now?
>>6319195“Alright break out the headset, let’s make sure they aren’t being controlled by some squid.I want to make sure we got our target and not some crazy, also if he is Infact human I want the doctor to see if she recognizes him”
>>6319201"Right the headphones! Smart thinking Ursus.">Maggie says as she gathers the headset."Headphones? What are you going to do with those headphones?!">The humanoid figure asks.>Maggie then gave the bear the headphones."I got Metallica in there on full blast. Just say the word and I'll turn it on.">Maggie tells the bear.
>>6319203“Ok so I am going to blast your ears with loud human metal, and if you only get some minor temporary hearing damage then your fine but if a cephalopod crawls out of your skull well, we will know, so any things you would like to get off your chest before we start?”
>>6319211"The fuck?! A cephlopod?! The hell are you talking about?!"
>>6319212“Hmm good, now then shall we Maggie”(Do they Infact look human?)
>>6319213>>6319212Yeah, this is worth asking. It was noted before that the figure looked humanoid, but we never confirmed it. Are they human, or a animal mutated by Nihm, or an ape?
>>6319213>>6319215"Do it.">Maggie says.>Ursus then lifts the hood.>He then sees what the humanoid figure looks like.>It's a human.>Male.>Looks like his teenage years.>Wearing the collar most humans wore to understand animals.>Clearly looks like he doesn't want to listen to music."I will sit here tied up as you force me to listen to middle of the road music!">He shouts.
>>6319216“Yup also pretty cool you also got one of thise odd devices, good to know that whoever you are apart of has that kind of resources. Also good to confirm human if young, not that I’m making some assumptions but do they remind you of anyone?”
>>6319217(Ursus asked Maggie if they reminder her of anyone in a tactful way)
>>6319217"Nope not at all.">Maggie replies."Not anyone at all?! How dare you!? How dare you not recognize the great talent that is Eugene!?">The angry teenage boy says."..... Who?">Maggie asks.
>>6319220“Wait he controlled a bunch of racoons I think, why the pit is he dealing mutative substances to animals, you little snot damaged the lives of two people I know of and probably more. How did you even get here? The last survivor of one of the bunkers?”
>>6319222"Do you know how easy it is to deal with those retards!? Racoons are easy to trick and basically fool into believing you are a god! They also make good servants for gathering solid Nimh stones. Just give them junk and they'll do anything. Unfortunately poor test subjects. Especially since they died immediately after being so exposed. Though to be fair most of them were malnourished and eating junk. So that's why I was experimenting with the wolves."
>>6319220>>6319222Oh! Simon's Patron, Eugene! That little shit who brainwashed that other PC.
>>6319226And he admits to being the Nihm dealer!
>>6319226>Ursus griwns pinching the bridge of his brow in frustration.“and you know nothing about the squids that we’ve been encountering? We have a bigger problem then, those squids are still gonna be at large. We’ve only stopped the nihm getting sold to people not the source of the squids”
>>6319230"No! I still don't know what the fuck squids have to do with Nimh! I just mined them from dead shelters. The previous one Simon was supposed to pick up was never picked up. In fact he disappeared after he met with another human from what I heard. So I decided to investigate myself and found liquid Nimh. Something I thought would be perfect to experiment with. Which I assume you guys took."
>>6319236>Ursus took off the headset it was clearly not needed.“why are you out here at all? Apart from experimenting with mutative material and ruining peoples lives you pathetic little man.”
>>6319237"Because..... I'm trying to find the hot girl that Simon found. I finally found a female of my species. So by that logic, we should be together."
>>6319239“You aren’t the only human “Eugine” not to mention any lady worth her knowledge wouldn’t date you, especially after what you’ve done”
>>6319243"So what do we do with him Ursus?">Maggie asked Ursus.
>>6319248“Get other humans involved, he’s clearly human, and let the most effective human of them all extract as much knowledge he knows, he thinks he knows, and things he overlooked. We still have to resolve those squids”
>>6319251"So get Jessica?"
>>6319256(Yup she is trained and skilled at getting information, not to mention we’ve likely gotten as much as we can and she would discover anything that wouldn’t have been considered important by “Eugene”)
>>6319258"Alright I'll go get Jessica.">Maggie then leaves."Wait who's Jessica? Is she hot?">Eugene asks.
>>6319261I mean I’m not human so that depends on your definition, although considering your attitude, your probably focusing on the shallow trait instead of anything truly meaningful.”
Have to leave now. Sorry again Ursus for not informing you about this thread.
>>6319267Eh more my fault should have figured
>>6318863This is btw really cute, thank you
>>6319607Kinny made it.Going to be available tomorrow.
>>6321677I'll be there, not sure how long I'll be available though. Probably not for the whole session.
Here.>>6319266>You and Maggie then leave the room."So... what do we do with him after Jessica's done with him?">Maggie asks the bear."I mean we can't exactly have him thrown in a prison here. People are going to ask what the hell he is and then that'll open the can of worms that's humanity."
Also here, just waiting on Ursus.
>>6322232I’m here>>6322231>Ursus turned contemplative.“I suspect the humans we know will have ideas, after all given their situation they should or would have methods on a possible path. Not to mention I’m still very pissed about what gap to the mutilated people under our care, what they experienced. I’m not gonna kill him that’s not how I do things but, how I want to throw him at the femwolfs friends and let them get their catharsis”
>>6322266"Problem is we only know of three other humans that are awake. Jessica, who seems to be our most competent human, Superman, who... might not all be there, and Eugene, the guy we are trying to convict. There is still myself but honestly... I don't know if I should convict anyone."
>>6322270“Eugene hurt a whole lotta people, ruined lives, and unleashed horrors on people. You don’t have to convict him but I’m certain you understand the problem here.”
>>6322270Remember, there is Doctor Wallace, Maggie's aunt. She was working on a cure for June and Hogar, I think. Or something.
>>6322279>Ursus began to think hard“Should I go get mog?” I could possibly sneak in again via ring for and give mog a ring to shift out”
>>6322275"I do. But still I'm no one to judge. I was a soldier. I probably killed some lizard soldiers back when I was alive. So really do I have any room to talk?">>6322279How did I forget about her?!
>>6322284"That sounds like a good idea. We should probably carry five just in case one isn't fully charged. Also remember that this town isn't a full fan of rabbits... should probably change my form. Maybe a wolf? Seems reasonable enough."
>>6322286“Well in this case less is more, if we are doing a jail break a form your used to but haven’t used around here might work, wolves are likely to get them making questions about your family aswell so likely Norma wolf”
>>6322291"Norma Wolf?"
>>6322292)God I hate typing out on mobile) so a wolf form is not a good idea considering wolves are typically heavily communal and would likely know each other, not to mention stealthier forms are likely optimal”
>>6322294"So stay as a rabbit?"
>>6322296“Not necessarily, I’m going as a rat same so something similar would work”
>>6322298"No!">She said....>Then got her composure back."I mean... two rats would be obvious right."
>>6322299“Why the hesitation? I mean I’m not gonna push you to this I’m just curious.”
>>6322301"OK can I be honest with you?"
>>6322302“Maggie I’ve faught and bleed in this group, you can be honest with me”
>>6322303>Maggie then took a deep breath."I'm afraid of rodents."
>>6322305“Ok, any exact reasons? I’m not judging just trying to understand.”
>>6322306"I don't know. They just... creep me out... ever since... the incident....">She said as she blacked.>Having flashbacks that seemed like they were horrifying.
>>6322307“Yet you were able to handle the rat form. It probably took a lot, alright you don’t have to worry about it you can do rabbit form”
>>6322309"I'm pretty sure it's small enough.">The two of you head over to the prison.Meanwhile with Mog.>>6321681>Mog was now well rested. What do you wish to do Mog?
>>6322312Rising from his slumber, the elderly wolf's ears perked at the sound of pattering feet. He opened his eyes, glancing around. Nothing but the dregs he'd been locked in with.Still, whether it was his imagination or Ursus had returned, he ought to find an excuse for his absence, in case the guards came to check up on him. The queen might be forgiving, but he wasn't sure it would be good to betray her confidence and spurn the legal system, becoming a fugitive. If Ursus had dealt with the Nihm dealer, then there was nothing left to do.Finally wakeful, padded around his cell, examining his possession for any item that could help him.Perhaps he could slip his amber ring on another prisoner and disguise them as himself? A waste of a ring though, he may not get it back. The jig would be up after a few hours anyways. He couldn't think of anything else. Why not wait for the summit then? The tsar's plot had been foiled, and Lincoln would likely get his army and knock the lizards out of the faction war. Unless the queen was truly corrupted, there was little chance of Clayton convincing her to sell the nation down a river, now that the emperor's interference in Canis Lupin's internal affairs had been revealed. Sage had been dangerous, but when isolated against them, she had gone down surprisingly easy. Gawain had been dealt with. The pigs were a wild card, but they hadn't done anything overtly wrong in the capital to warrant going after them. They seemed not to have any particular strengths to their diplomatic game, at least none that Mog could see. He supposed they'd likely be the winners of the summit, aside from Lincoln, by virtue of not doing anything insanely criminal. Perhaps he should resume building support for a pressure campaign against them? No, perhaps he'd make use what he'd built to organize a protest, but since everyone left had apparently been playing the diplomatic game fairly, it was only right that he should leave the nation's foreign policy to the queen, as she'd stressed to him.Scratching behind his ears with his hind legs, he paced and pondered. What a conundrum. There was nothing left to do.He felt helpless. What could be done, they had done. Now it was up to the nation, and the queen. All that remained was the threat of Incahat, and the squids. But there was little chance of finding them and their machinations, with no leads. He'd already foiled much of their ambitions. Kuma was cleansed, the infected forest guardians eradicated, Gawain dealt with, the prophecy had not come to pass. Something could still happen at the summit, but it seemed like they'd foiled the steps that would lead to the worse case scenario. If some apocalyptic event occurred, they'd just have to deal with it as it came. So, Mog waited.
>>6322316"Excuse me Mog.">A soft feminine voice arose.>Mog found it to be very familiar.>It was the queen's voice."I have a proposal for this situation."
>>6322318The paladin walked to the bars, following the sound of her voice, poking his snout outside the cage, listening.
>>6322319"Mog... I have an offer. I know how devout you are of protecting this country and I... but I can't allow you out either for messing with the fairs of the elite and risking us to go to war. Something we've been trying to avoid since I became queen. I know you want your own army to fight the oppressors... but unfortunately I cannot give that to you. I'm warning you right now that most of the counsil is against the idea of supporting you due to Gawain's poisonous words and you attacking the ambassadors of Tarzan. Hell, they want you to rot in this cell for all eterninty. So here's my offer. Instead of attending the summit and the potential of being locked up in here... I'm willing to give you a more lenient punishment. For you and your party to be banished from entering this nation ever again."
>>6322322(OOC I’m up fir what ever you decide mog, besides we can still get in regardless by just taking different forms)
>>6322322"Banished?!" Mog voiced aloud, stunned, "What ever for? This seems a punishment almost worse than death, to never step foot again in my homeland! And for merely exposing the other nation's treachery too! Ultimately, you are the leader of the nation, my queen. If you do not wish to go to war, then the nation will not go to war. It is that simple. No provocation on my part could change that. But that doesn't change the fact of what Clayton or Tsar Dhalsim did! Kidnapping, imprisoning, and torturing citizens in the capital! Setting up a bomb underneath her majesty's very palace! I must inform you now, as I believe I did earlier, but both Clayton and Lincoln are here for an army as well, I at least wish to deny the former."He shook his head. The wolf almost forgot himself. What he wished did not matter to the queen. He was but a humble servant.Bowing, he said "Forgive me, your majesty, for rambling. I forget myself sometimes. If you do not wish for me to have an army, then so be it. It was a hope of mine, now dashed, but not a loss that drives me to despair. I only despair at seeing our nation so weakened by ape overtures, and by infiltrators. I think I told you of the squids before, but if not, then I recommend you have the clerics examine everyone in government with Detect Poison and Disease magic, there are parasites infecting many. I know it sounds crazy, but even a low level cleric, or even a paladin can tell."He stopped again, then started up, slower this time "I'm rambling again. Ahem. To answer your proposal, I will simply say that I will never accept being an eternally transient vagabond, some wanderer without a home. If the elites do not want me to interfere, then fine! I was done anyways, I do not need to interfere anymore. Nor do I mind being punished for acting without sanction."Taking a moment to swallow, he got up on his hind legs, pressing his paws against the inside of the bars, as if to pry them apart. Poking his head through, he said "As for fighting the oppressors in exile, but without an army, or being locked up in here forever...well..." he smiled, showing teeth through the bars, "...I can leave anytime. I'm not worried. The fight will come to them, one way or another."The wolf stepped down, any airs he'd put on drained away as he licked his paws and whimpered at his aching leg. He turned around, then glanced back and added as an afterthought "Oh yeah, some rabbits wanted to talk at the summit but were repeatedly denied at the police station 'cause of the laws or something. You might want to talk with Chief Cottontail. Otherwise the rabbit will declare war on Canis Lupin whether you want it or not, and they've got Old One tech. Apparently some wolves attacked them, I thought it was a false flag, but who knows?"He lay down to await Ursus's return and the queen's answer.
I don't mind finishing up the Canis Lupin arc and moving on, whether after that werewolf band or to find more Xenarus shit, or to visit bear country or fight Clayton's empire or whatever. But we should at least finish up RPing the resolution to who the Nihm dealer is, and get me outta prison now that we know what the queen's ultimatum to me is, on top of timeskipping to the summit and seeing both the diplomacy results and if the Incahat/squids cause some horrible event to occur. If things pass by smoothly, then great! If not, boss battle! Plus we're still waiting on Dr.Wallace to cure Hogor and June, and seeing if Adler is leaving the party to take care of the temple. Not sure if Wallace's cure is a long-term goal that needs time in the oven or not. If so, we might have to leave her here in the secret underground part of the temple with Adler, maybe with Jessica to guard her, Eugene, and the other human popsicles. We can adventure in the meantime.
>>6322331>The quern looked at her most loyal servant.>Giving out a similar smile to him"Fine speech as always Mog. I will speak with Chief Cottontail and make sure he has a turn to speak in the summit. Be prepared with and have a speech ready after him. Because your turn will be next.">She then leaves the old wolf again in his cell.
>>6322327OOC: I'm as eager to move on from Canis Lupin as anyone else. That being said, while I do not intend to slow us down anymore with shadowrunning, we still have loose ends to tie up and a proper ending to the arc to receive. Like my post gets at, we at least deserve to see what happens at the summit, even if we don't affect the results. It can be a cutscene or a big couple of posts from QM and then be over. Unless there is a terrorist attack or Incahat magic apocalypse, in which case we should be around for the showdown. It'd be weird to just up and abandon Mog's homeland when we know there was a doom prophecy for the summit. But AFTER that, yeah, we should skedaddle out of this overlong arc.Since Hogar and June is simply a matter of waiting for an NPC to come up with a cure, we can just leave them. Let it run in the background.None of this should take up a ton of time doing posts about the next morning and what we have for breakfast or however many minor events intervene the next day, we just need the 'connecting tissue' of us meeting back up in prison, me invisibility potioning/transforming out with you, bam timeskip, Summit (which we sneak into, since we aren't getting in legally it seems), fight if prophecy shit happens, or no fight and see the results if we solved everything, end arc and move on.
Sorry guys g2g.
>>6322334>>6322327Mog nodded thoughtfully after the queen, already planning his speech. He lay down to wait for Ursus. The truth is, I know that being prepared to speak at the summit was important, but I never prepared a speech simply because the circumstances under which we would be attending the summit and which problems lay unsolved, and what policies Mog thought were possible or what he wanted kept changing. Also, it has been so long, this arc I mean, so anytime I gave any thought to preparing one, I kept forgetting or not getting far into writing a pre-prepared one. It is no big issue, since I can always just write as fast as I usually write and have a word-limit length speech out when needed during whatever session the summit happens at. Doesn't matter much, since it seems like Mog won't be getting the policy goals he wants anyways, even if he has some supporters amongst the populace. But we solved pretty much every immediate issue with the foreigners doing shady shit in Canis Lupin, even if the social issues persist. So I'm fine with just giving a vague inspirational speech and moving on. Or even not attending the summit to affect anything at all, I just wanted to see what the other faction's diplomacy got them and to prevent a disaster.
>>6322338>>6322327Thanks for running QM! See you and Ursus next week, or whenever the next session is.
>>6322341See you two later
>>6322370>>6322341Might not be 100% available. Sorry in advanced.
>>6325335I should be available, but a bit late in the morning. So, if you're there, I probably will be too.
>>6322340>>6322309>Mog waits for Ursus to possibly rescue him.Mog what would you like to do?
Wanted to pop in to say I'll be busy for about three hours, sorry. Maybe a bit less.
>>6325694Right now I’m sick
>>6325729>>6325737Should we wait for next week then?
>>6325739>>6325737Yes, I think so. Get well soon Ursus. Take care everyone.
I don't think I'll be available tomorrow, unfortunately. Caught a cold, and while I could technically be here for a few hours in the early morning before I have to go, I think I'd rather use that time to rest.
Unfortunately I am going to be busy so I won't be here. Sorry guys.
If I'm there tomorrow, I might be quite late. Not sure atm, 50/50.
Not 100% sure but should be there tomorrow.
I'm here.
>>6322331>>6322309>Mog waits in his prison cell for the eventual escape.>He knows his bear turned ape friend will help him out.Probably best to rest for a bit but what would you like to do?>Ursus and Maggie soon arrive near the prison as a Ratsus and Rattie.>Maggie being slightly uncomfortable with it but willing to bear it a bit with the bear."So Ursus, what's the plan of getting Mog out?"
>>6331834There was nothing to do but wait, if he used his own last remaining invisibility potion, there was a chance Mog and Ursus could miss each other, like ship passing in the dark. So Mog continued to lay down and wait patiently, yawning. He had just slept, but boredom had a way of tiring one out."Hey, buddy, amuse me, what're you in for?" Mog questioned his cellmates brusquely. Gotta kill time somehow.
>>6331835"I'm here for stealing bread.""Stole some mantis meat.""Frog legs.""I took a bag o money."
>>6331837"Hmph, figures, mantis meat and frog legs are expensive, I made a decent chunk of change off weeks old mantis meat awhile ago. Bread though? Thought they would've put you in the stockade for a day or whipped you and be done with it. Things must've gotten harsher since I was last home." The wolf muttered in half reply. He settled in to wait for his companion, the occupants of his cell unfit for conversation, save to annoy him with reminders of the direction his kingdom was going.
>>6331840"What about you? What'cha in here for?"
>>6331846"Killin' a bunch of apes that set up a secret prison camp inside the city and we're kidnapping a bunch of citizens and whatnot. It's all over now, done and solved. Nothin' to worry about now. I tell you what though, that Clayton guy really has it comin'. He's got some nerve pullin' this bullshit on us while selling us his dumb metal toys." Mog replied casually over his shoulder.'But I'll leave that for the queen' the paladin added silently in his mind. While he had no intention of allowing himself to be permanently exiled from his homeland, it was clear he needed to stay away from home for awhile to let things cool down. Let the queen make her own decisions. He had bigger fish to fry, Xenarus, Clayton himself, and he was sure Kinny and Ursus would eventually like to take trips to their own homelands. All in good time.
>>6331850"Shit...""That sounds more heroic than... evil.""You kiddin'? That could have started a war.""If that was the case why is he in here with all the small fries?"
>>6331852"You kiddin'? Preventing thugs from kidnapping people is the right thing to do. If the apes didn't want a war, they shouldn't have done that shit. The responsibility is on them as much as us not to do anything to provoke a war. And a war wouldn't be a bad thing, given how they've acted. One shouldn't shy away from war for its own sake. Some things are worth fighting for. You wanna live under ape laws? 'Cause what they're doing is undermining the queen's law, Canis Lupin isn't a state if it doesn't have monopoly of force within its own border! They keep acting with impunity, bribing us with technology, enforcing their will on our country, then it'll be THEIR country soon enough. Goddesses help me, just think, damn you!" Mog shouted suddenly, incensed into ill temper yet again by and pushback against his righteous war against illegal interventions by all these damned foreigners into wolf affairs. He took a breathe, then continued, more calmly "I'm not in max security by the grace of the queen. She knows I'm right, I just overstepped by acting independently. Besides, I'm not exactly a nobody, so you can say I got special treatment. Now quiet down, I need some time to pray."The wolf let his anger bubble and boil away, before praying quietly to the Goddesses for strength for coming endeavours and insight into future threats.
>>6331858"Whatever you say sir.">The other wolves said as they laid down.
I have to go, though I might be back later in a few hours. Hopefully by then Ursus will be here.
Sorry college got in the way today and I’ve been absorbed in exams
>>6331986Understandable.
>>6331986Makes sense. Guess we'll have to wait for a lull in everyone's schedule to find time for a full session.
I'll be available tomorrow. Should be early, compared to when I usually make it. Though I'll wait for Ursus to post, since we're just waiting on him to meet up with me.
Just waiting on Ursus.
>>6335398Same.
>>6335398I’m here weather is terrible where I live. Also getting rather Annoyed about the delayed timer on quest.
>>6335438Sorry to hear about the weather trouble. Are you safe where you are at?
>>6335444Oh I’m fine at the destination it was getting there that was hell
>>6335446Would you like to continue where we left off?
>>6335438Sucks about the weather.I think the timer might mostly affect people who use mobile to post. When I'm posting from my PC with a static IP, I almost never get the timer.
>>6331834>Rattus pauses and considers before turning to Maggie.“The main thing is checking in with him first seeing any updates on his end and vice versa then if necessary hand them a polymorph ring they can use to fade with us back into the crowd. If things are bad on his end then I will take more drastic measures but I think it should be mostly calm right now”
>>6335455"Seems about right? Do you to go check in on him or should I?"
>>6335458“We should both go in better to minimize having isolated members the better, not to mention I would rather not deal with the possibility that some lowlife with a inferiority complex or a bone to pick with smaller races figures us prime targets. Besides in one groups we don’t take up much space and can still make our slip.”
Rolled 18 (1d20)>>6335459"Alright.... here goes nothing.">Maggie then attempts to climb in the jail.
>>6335460>Maggie has a bit of trouble adjusting to her new mouse form but ends up climping through one of the pipes.>Slipping only occasionally on herway up."God why does this feel so natural to do? It feels like my paws are sticky in this form."
Rolled 10 (1d20)>>6335461>Rattus looks at her and talks“That’s actually has to do with surface area and certain structures having the uncanny ability to stick to walls, not to mention your a soldier, I’m certain you had to run obstacle courses on the regular, it’s likely nwahing well with your current forms instincts. The main reason I’m used to it is because when I was younger I would climb up the massive trees of my town”>Rattus climbs up the pipes
>>6335474>Ursus and Maggie continue up the pipes."I admit I had to crawl through mud and then climb a wall afterwards. That was fine... this doesn't feel fine for some reason and staring at my nubby little paws while doing this isn't helping either.">She said with a shudder."Which floor is Mog on?"
Pretty sure I'm underground, iirc. That's where our cell was, I think.
>>6335477Thought it was one of the upper levels. Thoughts what I wrote.
Wait, nevermind, there's no reference to us being underground, maybe I was remembering the prison break where we helped free the prisoners that the apes had locked up. We got the 'nicer' prison cell for those who steal from royalty, so I'm guessing higher up.
>>6335474>>6335476Ursus give me a perception check.
>>6335486Is this for some sort of obstacle or something? It's not for finding where I am, is it? Because Ursus should know where my cell is, we shared the same cell.
>>6335490It was for finding your cell.
>>6335486Rolling>>6335476>Rattus:“Hmm you might be dealing with body dysmorphia(?) I’m a lot more adaptive do to my own open minded view that we are all cut from the same cloth, you have a phobia of rodents so it makes sense. >>6335492>>6335495"You're right. I hate that you're right. But you are right.">After a few more minutes you both then end up finding Mog's room."Is he sleeping?">Maggie asks the bear.
>>6335498>>6335492Mog opened his eyes, prayers finished."I'm awake. What happened? Did you catch the Nihm dealer?"
>>6335503"You will not believe who we found as the Nimh Dealer.">Maggie told the wolf."Ursus you want to tell him?"
>>6335503>>6335506>Rattus checks to see if the guards are about and waves for mog to effectively shadow them while he mock prays“So apparently it was Eugene, the problem is he’s not the one behind the parasitic squid which means they are very much still a problem we have too consider. I think we have to investigate Superman’s bunker and some of the more unexplored parts of town if we wanna find their place of operation which might require us to use the same methods we used last time.”
>>6335513The wolf stared blankly, uncomprehending. He sat in recollection. Finally, it clicked."Eugene? Eugene the patron of that sleazy raccoon, Simon?" Mog questioned hesitantly, wide eyed. That was one mystery solved. There wasn't much time to talk, Mog wanted to know so much more. What species was Eugene? Was he some sort of higher entity, a demon as Mog had suspected from Simon's descriptions of his powers, or just some human? He vaguely recalled the raccoon throwing some tantrum about Maggie being a mockery of his visage or something, it had been so long. Why was he ruining lives, distributing Nihm. It would have to wait, until their escape was over.Hearing that the squids were still out there, the paladin nodded, donning a cocoon ring ti shift into a rat and slipping through the bars of the cell."The armoury first, we need to get my weapons and stuff. Then the bunker." he instructed.
>>6335524>Rattus nods“He was human if a very sleazy one, made a lot of….uncivilized comments on women and a high opinion that we aren’t people to him which is funny considering Maggie was there in her rabbit form the whole conversation and capture. I really hope there aren’t more like him who think playing with people’s lives aren’t just projects.”
>>6335524>>6335513>>6335528"We should probably give Mog his ring now.">Maggie said to Ursus, then gently crawled down giving the old wolf a ring."So I'm guessing you're going to be a rat as well Mog?"
>>6335533>*rattus kept his paws on the improvised rapier of a knitting needle sharpened to a razors edge (incase someone thought him a potential target). The Bear turned Rat would ensure if any big cat tried to take a chunk out of him he would return in kind*
>>6335533"The last thing we need is Old Ones with a God Complex" Mog replied in easy agreement.>>6335533He squeeked back, whiskers twitching, having already transformed. Playfully pretending to have lost sentience for a moment, he motioned as if to chew on her whiskers, before losing interest and scampering after Ursus.>Head to the armoury to collect my gear?
>>6335549>*Rattus quirked a brow at the antic but upon mentioning heading to the armory he nods and starts scanning for optimal routes for stealth such as rafters, pipes wires and masonry from old one architecture*
>>6335554"It was boring in that cell, don't judge me." Mog whispered forward upon seeing the quirked brow.
>>6335559>Rattus chuckle squeaked“Fair friend fair, still the faster we are done here the better, Maggie is having some issues in this form and I would rather her not spend more than what’s necessary.”
>>6335562"Alright," Mog answered, worried for Maggie, "lets go, quickly then."
Sorry guys something came up so I had to leave without saying goodbye. Again I apologize for not answering.
>>6335599No worries. I'll see you both next week, if all goes well. Take care.
Not sure I'll be able to attend tomorrow's session, if I do I'll be late. Probably after Ursus usually gets here, just a couple hours before the time we usually wrap up. If both of you guys are around, feel free to nab my stuff from the prison armoury without me before we leave the prison so we can move on.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. If I'm going to be on, responses will be late.
>>6338842Oh, right...Makes sense, enjoy your holiday! Happy Thanksgiving! We've already had Thanksgiving here, so it slipped my mind regarding how it'd be stateside. I think this is the second time I've made that mistake.
Yeah I'm not gonna be available today.
Likewise I should be available tomorrow. Probably won't be there until around the usual time Ursus arrives.
>>6335562>>6335563Ursus roll me a stealth check with advantage to give Mog the ring.
I'm here. Slept particularly badly last night, so my posts may not be written that well today. How are you guys doing?>>6342433I think I already noted myself as putting one on last time here >>6335524Pretty sure us chatting between ourselves was meant to be an 'on the move' thing while we head to the armoury to pick up my gear.
>>6342441Got'cha.
Still waiting for Ursus.
>>6342459Ursus must still be busy, perhaps right up 'til the holidays. We'll just have to try again next week. I have to go now, so I'll wish you a fine afternoon QM. Take care.
>>6342487Have a Blessed Week guys.
>>6342487College finals have effectively been bogging me down sorry
>>6342492It's okay friend. Trust me I know.
I should be available this Thursday, though I'll try to let you know if that changes.>>6344696Nice.
I'm here. Not sure you guys are available today though.
>>6344696Nice Art. Kinny is that you?>>6345520I'm here. Feel a bit drained but can still work on DM'ing. Here's hoping Ursus is doing okay.
>>6345534Is it Kinny? I thought it might be him, but it could also be Ursus, because he also draws. Though I guess their styles are quite different. I wasn't sure.Ursus might be still be busy with finals, though I think they just finished. At least from what I hear from my US friends. He should be around in a couple hours, if he makes it by his usual time.
>>6345536I LIVE!
>>6345568Good to see you. Hope you are doing well in this holiday month. Ready to continue?
>>6345570“Ehh so so dang upper level classes for my field are nigh nonexistent specific classes because of that I missed the enrollment for one and I am going to have to intern it this year or next year (PAIN).”
>>6345573>Anyway, Ursus began to lead the trio to mog’s weapons and equipment intending to help get them out through clever use of the ring charges.>silent hand indications and body language to convey when to dart between cover and when to vanish.
>>6345568Welcome friend!"The armoury next, so I can collect my gear. After that, we can attend the summit in secret to make sure the squids don't mess things up. That's all that is left to do. With the queen informed, and us no longer welcome, we'll have to leave the squids and foreign affairs to my kin to solve on their own." Mog reminded everyone, prodding them to get a move on.It felt like they'd been wandering the castle's maze-like halls for three weeks now. He motioned for Ursus to lead the way to the armoury, since he'd already been there to retrieve his own gear the prior night. Looking behind him to make sure Maggie was following, he ran after Ursus."When our business in Canis Lupin is concluded, where do you all want to go next? Perhaps your homeland Ursus? Or give Kinny's aloof kin a visit?" the wolf queried quietly, making soft conversation as they walked cozily close, side by side.
>>6345575>It takes a while but all of you find the place where the weapons are held.>Finding Mog's Weapons."... So how are we going to carry them? We have little arms and tiny bodies.">Maggie asked the two.

>>6345579>>6345575"I'm not sure. Ursus, how did you manage to carry your gear out of here? Personally, I'd think that I could just take my ring off, don my gear, then put the ring back on, and have all my gear transform with me, like the Polymorph spell. But I seem to recall when Maggie first transformed into a wolf, she ended up naked, with her clothes not fitting. Though I might be misremembering that. So, I'm not sure that plan will work. If all that fails, I can just take the ring off, don my gear, and use my invisibility potion to leave."I don't think this should be an issue, seeing as this wasn't an issue when Ursus escaped, not to mention it wasn't an issue when leaving my cell despite using the ring. I had some of my non-combat related gear still on me in my cell, because the guards didn't take it, and you didn't mention me leaving it behind, so, again, I think this is a non-issue, as it was never brought up before. As I mention IC, worst comes to worst, I can just invis out. But lets see what ideas Ursus has.
>>6345586"That is true.">Maggie remembers.>>6345588>Seems to be no one there except a wolf, possibly older than Mog, sleeping right next to the weapons and armor.>Odd place to sleep but at least it doesn't look like he'll wake up soon.
>>6345591“Hmm, he might be an issue we will need go about this quetly, I’m going to unring you mog be our look out Maggie your on watching out for our friend here”
Wait, I just checked, we had this discussion IC before, in thread 5. I haven't reread completely, but from what I can gather, everything you are wearing and carrying just transforms with you. This shouldn't be a problem for us.
>>6345594I can English yes
>>6345595Hehe it’s almost like i remember that

>>6345603>slowly painfully steady breaths and meticulous movements Ursus begins gathering up mog’s equipment. Not bothering with anything else.
>>6345604>After getting Mog's equipment back you see nothing is going wrong.>Maggie gives you a signal that the coast is still clear.>Aside from the old wolf who is still sleeping.
>>6345607>Ursus immediately puts on a new ring, transforming once more into rattus
>>6345604>>6345603Mog slowly took off his ring. Muscle and sinew stretched to fill the empty hallway, as he rejoined Ursus in his body's full glory. Quietly as he could, he accepted Ursus's hand off of his equipment. With urgent care, he silently donned his armour and strapped on his weapons.Taking one last look around to make sure they hadn't been spotted, he then put his ring back on, transforming back into a mouse, to ease their escape."Lead the way out, Ursus."
>>6345609“Once more into the breach”>ursus, leads the scamper trio sticking close as they maneuver out back to base.
>>6345608>>6345609>>6345611>Maggie follows behind Ratsus as he leads them out.>Amazingly enough, it seems that you three got away scott free.>Takes a while but you soon find yourselves now out of the prisons and back on the streets of Canis Lupin.>Then back to the Church.>Maggie was the first to take herring off."I NEVER want to be again! That was too creepy an-...">She shuddered before she even finished.
>>6345612“It’s cool I get it. You explained your phobia earlier not to mention differing anatomies and perspectives, although I’m more open to differences forms”>takes off his ring“Although you could eventually build up a tolerance with this given time”
>>6345609>>6345613"So what do we do now? Do we wait?"
>>6345612>>6345613"I'm not clued into what you guys are talking about, but slow repeated exposure tends to inure one to things." Mog interjected briefly, taking off his ring.He went to see the good Dr.Wallace, hoping to have returned to good news regarding the progress on Hogar and June's predicament. They wouldn't be able to stay much longer to look after how things were going. Soon they'd have to leave Superman and all the frozen humans in the care of Adler, Dr.Wallace, and Jessica. He wanted to make sure things were moving ahead before they finished things up at the summit.
>>6345616>Dr Wallace was looking at the two blood samples that belonged to June and Hogar.>Studying it with intense care under her microscope."Interesting....">She began to mutter something incomprehensible due to it being in such a low volume that it sounded like her breathing instead.>She then noticed the wolf."You look like you went through something. You okay?"
>>6345619“…..would saying politics work in this scenario?”
>>6345619"We'll live," Mog replied stoically, "Though it seems we'll have to leave my home country for awhile, as in the process of breaking up an illegal abduction and imprisonment ring by the apes, we exceeded our legal powers as mere citizens. Or visitors, in Ursus and the other's cases, I suppose. So, we'll have to leave you in Adler's paws. Hopefully he can keep the public's eyes off of you and the other humans. Jessica is very strong, but not strong enough to fight an army. I came to check to see if you've made any progress on restoring June and Hogar to their original states, as we won't have long to stay and keep checking up in the future."
>>6345620"I would say I don't remember politics containing bite and scratch marks. But then again I know nothing of animal politics. So I'm willing to believe it.">She said to the bear.>She then looked onto the wolf and listened to his explanation.>>6345623"Not even close. Don't even have a hypothesis on how the hell your dealer did what he did with Nimh stones. Still I am trying my best. But I will say, despite of their transformation their blood still surprisingly looks healthy. No abnormalities from regular blood cells.">She then went back to the microscope."So... I'm guessing you are taking Maggie with you as you leave right?"
>>6345635"I think so. It's what Swift would want. Her being in the care of those who could best protect her. Being cooped up in some underground facility is no place for a young person to grow up after all. Perhaps it isn't for me to say, but growing up amongst nature, in the world as it is, is probably the best for her. We still have to unravel the mysteries of Xenarus, and there are still salient issues in the animal world that involve you humans that we ought be involved in. Such as Clayton's interest in humans to create 'the ultimate soldier', or the lizard's hatred of humans." Mog replied with care, knowing that Maggie's aunt would likely want her to stay with her.
>>6345635“Less bites and more cold steal and armored male”“Also speaking of people leaving….is there anyone that you think would be optimal to include to our party along with Maggie?”
>>6345643>>6345647>She continued to look at the blood for a bit.>Silent but studious.>She then finally turned away to look at the wolf, bear, and the cat that was possibly still lurking around."I understand that.">She said bluntly."She's now your responsibility now. You must take care of her because someone told you to. Even though you three barely understand her. Hell you just now noticed she's afraid of rats and mice. How the hell did you never notice that?">She then sighs."Still she likes you all. Like three strange uncles that do a very odd but job of taking care of her. And I'd be lying saying you three did a horrible job of keeping her safe. Because fuck me she's in worse danger around me than with you. Because God knows who we froze down there. They can be good people yes, but there can also be... bad ones as well... and I don't want her here around the bad ones. So if you must take her, then go ahead. Just promise me one thing. Keep her safe."
>>6345647I assumed it would just be our original party, plus Maggie and Kinny's mouse friend, Einstein. We've shed most of our previous compatriots, and Wallace ought stay here to look after the frozen humans and to continue working on Hogar and June's predicament. Adler was explicitly staying in the temple as the new head priest. Jessica should probably also stay with them, to defend the group. Though I wouldn't mind if she tagged along with us, given that Kinny likes her. But she also kinda pushes Maggie out in terms of usefulness, even if they are different in character. This adventure arguably should be ours + Maggie's. Superman should also probably stay, he has his tunnels and can help defend the group and be with human companions. With him staying, we have the option of taking Jessica, since the temple doesn't really need more than one defender. We should also probably take Harold the slime along, despite him normally being attached to Adler. We spent so much time in that goddess forsaken forest cultist lair, we should at least get a free healing slime to bring with us as a reward. We've barely used him so far, and this facility probably has all the medical equipment the people we are leaving behind will need to heal themselves anyways. So yeah, unless I'm missing anyone else, that should account for everyone.
>>6345650I already gave an oath promising much the same, to Elder Swift...Lanesboro. So too, shall I give the same oath again to you," Mog said solemnly, "I, Mog, paladin of the twinned Goddesses, confirm upon the rooted crescent that I will do my utmost to keep Maggie safe, lest moon beams turn my legs to stone and roots twine their way to my muscle's stem."Weary from his heavy oath, and brief stay in prison, he let down his raised paw and turned to find some fresh food to eat."Now let us turn to lighter things, in the brief moments we have before we must attend the summit to finally ensure the safety of Canis Lupin."
>>6345650>Ursus takes up a serious militant stance in response to solumn and important command. “Yes mam we’ve faught together, we’ve bled together, we won’t let her down a fellow warrior.”“And I already kinda noticed the whole fear although I thought it was more the odd dynamics of the future she was being put through. Also we did take in the nihm dealer, you could probably ask your interrogator first a summery of his methods.
>>6345653> Ursus quickly reviews as much as they have, the samples he’s gathered and as many eye witness reports and deeds he’s found, he also brings the rabbits requests as a bear to allow the smaller folk a chance to have a voice to defend themselves from their oppressors.
>>6345653>>6345655>>6345658"Good luck on that.... and Thank You.">She then went back onto work.Unfortunately I must leave. Hope the both of you have a Blessed Week. Next week is the summit.
Unfortunately, I think I have to go soon. So I think I'll call it in for the day. At least we finally got another session in and got out of prison. I think next session should be the summit, so I think you should prepare for that QM. Unless we want to explore Superman's tunnels? Either way, we've stayed in the Canis Lupin arc for a really long time, and I think it is time we end it, as we discussed earlier. A fresh arc would also be a good time for Kinny to come back to, without the burden of trying to keep track of and make sense of all the minutiae of this arc. Take care everyone! Have a good week.
>>6345663>>6345665Ah, stole the words right out of my mouth. Take care QM. Excited for the summit, and the conclusion of this arc.>>6345658You too Ursus. Take care buddy.

>>6348368I should also be available, but very briefly.
>>6348368>>6348371If I don't show up, it is probably because my power is cut and the road is blocked like yesterday for me. Getting some pretty harsh winds, already lost power twice.
