Another set of tyrns passes and begins again, bringing with it a new set of challenges. The threat of lunar invasion has passed, and with it a new era of peace begins. Of course such things rarely last. Already the nations of the world dabble in tremendous powers that could alter the world. Stolen lunar technologies, tremendous machines worked powered by magic, the holy light of gods and puppets stitched together from broken spirits. The world lurches toward great change, ready or not.---This a Multiplayer Nation Roleplay! Unfortunately we are full up on players at the moment with no openings expected. Apologies to anyone who wanted to join!> GlobalAcross the land all breathe a sigh of relief as the great silver fortresses of the Lunites march into the ocean, never to be seen again. Even those few who can follow them find no trace a tyrn later.> TurbansGlorious victory at last! Though the battle rages day and night Turban ingenuity has won the day, developing horrific poisons that leave the invaders trembling and flailing while strikes against key locations of their silver fortress has sent it into retreat toward the ocean! Despite the usage of terrible weapons of magical fog the invaders have been driven back! At the height of the battle a great charge of biotitans slam into the fortress and hurl it into the sea! Glory to the Turquoise Turbans! Nothing remains of the invaders save their memory.> VenciaThe great cataloging of Taxmoss is an exciting time for the explorers of Vencia as they cross the foreign jungles on the far side of the Tarn. It is of course also a somewhat terrifying time of course, because such activities inevitably lead into the territories of the Red Wall, a fearsome skrit war thing that is decidedly less friendly than the usual Skrit, it seems quite determined to devour everything in reach in fact. A nutty new gourd is discovered in the jungles, one that curiously grows more like an onion than a normal squash, with most of the plant firmly underground. Getting them pulled free is quite the hassle, fortunately normal Skrit drones are usually handy to help dig them out. When the ants get into the leftover squash left as payment they change color to a curious metallic brown, at least when not near a venk. Is this some sort of magical thing?
> OrcmanieThe frost chimera is an old ally of the Orcman, but not one that has seen much in the way of development over the years. Still as the empire grows larger there is a call for every sword of Orcmanie to be sharpened, and the chimera is no different. A proper training program is developed of raising the beasts from a young age, hammering out the worst of their violent tendencies before they're handed off to those brave enough to mount the creatures for further bonding and training.By aid of Orcmanie treasures the Blossoming Dawn grows ever more beautiful, with finery and beauty being added at every turn, the great temple city steadily growing in size and wonder. That it stands on the site of the bloodiest battle in history is a grim reminder of the price paid for this beautiful location.Eleanor the cat, local entrepreneur, seems to have acquired some foreign help from Loluna, though she seems to be enjoying running them ragged for her amusement, sending them on pointless and sometimes paradoxical errands. Something is afoot, but it doesn't seem to directly effect Orcmanie.> BarzaThe position of the Barzan hound in the war doctrine is largely that of a defender and distraction, being large and stubborn dogs trained to grapple onto targets with their mouths and drag them to the ground, protecting spellcasters while they work to shape the battlefield. Despite their large size and commanding bark however the dogs are actually quite friendly and loyal; to Barzan citizens anyway. The map leads to a tunnel, the key opens a door. There is a complex runic device here that in turn controls another great door, and beyond is an ancient city of the dwarves, grand and beautiful, and quite empty, save for the strumming of a lute that fills the air, though none can quite place where it comes from, and the dwarven guides accompanying Justinian insist it is not typical. All through the city are signs of hasty departure of things wicked and foul, trails of black slime and skittering legs just out of sight. Here the map leads to a beautiful temple dedicated to the moon goddess herself, a temple that appears on no map of the dwarven city. The Cloak of the Moon is at last secured in its spot, four stone wedges sliding firmly into place moments after the artifact has been secured. It is done.
> OrdalanThe blossoming dawn temple city rises up, a grand thing of beauty built by the efforts of many nations. No expense is spared as money pours in from abroad, establishing a grand unified pantheon worshipped across the western half of Pavilion. At its center is the island garden of hope where keen eyed archers keep watch over the crystal spire that marks the sealing of the world against the Nachetar Threat. Though there is little in Khurnaire that can stop the Baron and a small band from darting across the border, there’s no denying that he also has no idea where he’s going. Somewhat awkwardly he ends up having to ask for directions at Kharkashuin. (Perhaps an RP with Khurnaire is in order?)A dark twisting current of discourse begins to flow through the country. Why is the Anelk slavery of Guliseare permitted to exist? There begins to rise a steady stream of calls, primarily from free Anelk, that the time has come to pressure Guliseare into freeing the remainder of their kin from slavery.> HabitunReports and messengers slowly filter back home, a number of revisions and improvements are made to the Habitun Navy, each one a minor thing, but together amounting to a noticeable change in the quality of the ships. The seeding of the mollusc hive is a frustrating experience unfortunately. Limited shadow ant coverage, roaming krawl forces, and a simple lack of decent terrain that isn’t covered wall to ceiling in krawl forms makes finding a suitable location difficult, but a location is finally found, albeit one that the huntsman grumble even a child could discover with some effort. Perhaps there will be time next tyrn to patch the problem? Still, the nest of squirming monsters takes root and begins multiplying.> SkritBiomass in, ant soldiers out. It’s a simple formula, but it can be optimized further. Dedicated chambers for growing each of the organs and limbs are created, alongside mass training chambers. These great pools are filled with a soup of neural fibers and nascent brains, with a single mass at the center that must be replaced regularly, as it bears the brunt of the neural transfers from Central. The combined effect of this ant factory though is the ability to literally assemble new soldiers at a tremendous rate.> VizariTo be beyond human is the desire of the Ascendant, to rise above the frailty of the body to something greater. More refined mana stones are designed, these ones embedded into the muscles of the body itself to regulate fatigue and heal the wear and tear of the day that plagues lesser people. Totally driving off sleep still remains elusive however, while the body is filled with energy the mind itself struggles to keep up, ascendant wizards settle on a pattern of meditations that helps to clear the mind of fog, pushing off sleep for a few days, but sadly still requiring a few hours every few days. Still it is a remarkable improvement.
> UrottiThere is certainly a concerning quality to the Mine of Eris. Three dwarves have gone missing for weeks, only to reappear with gaps in their memories. Heaps of cursed jewelry are sometimes moved with poles only to reveal swarms of fat black spiders underneath that skitter away, vanishing when the eye loses them. Twice now seven dwarves have gone into the mines, and thirteen returned, with none able to say who the extras were. Initially the concern was that the jewelry itself was responsible for the strange effects, it is cursed after all, but experiments show that any ‘made’ thing seems to have the foul air about it, alloys, pipes, gears, or even cut gems. Furthermore the effect seems stronger the deeper one goes in the mine. For the time runic disruption plates are fastened across the supports of the mine, which seems to have lessened the effects, but there is grave concern that this may anger whatever force lay beyond this effect. The great dragon heart is a marvelous thing, a dozen sizable dragon fruits joined together into a single assemblage able to command a tremendous amount of power, if only a vessel able to hold such power could be found. Some effort will be required to develop finer and sturdier alloys, some new material will need to be dug from the earth. Many notes are taken on the nature of the Moon’s Cloak, though they will take considerable time to decipher. Perhaps on the 39th tyrn?> KrovianIgolka, city of the moon, distant member of the Krovian nation, sets about building itself a fine temple. A fine temple requires metal however, and so prospectors set out across the desert seeking some. A field of craggy lead boulders of lead is discovered and soon smelted and forged to the task of creating the finery appropriate to a proper temple of the pulse. And as a bonus the metal is soft and easy to work, and repair when inevitably a brawl breaks out and damages everything. The Igolka temple is built directly into the ocean itself, clever mechanisms are powered by the tides themselves, raising up great cleavers to drop dramatically onto waiting sacrifices, who then stain the ocean red in response.>GuliseareA distant settlement springs up the mountaintop island far to the south, far from the capital. Here herds of goats are tended and a curious silkworm is tended. The Silk Mimic is a strange larva indeed, for they gather in great numbers, working together to weave large sheets of silk embedded with hundreds of their cocoons. These sheets are draped over branches and colored in such a way that they form ominous silhouettes with looming eyes and hunched figures waiting in the trees. Of course once the illusion is known the sheets can be harvested, the bugs removed, and the silk woven and dyed into fine fabrics.
> KrawlYet another great hive of Krawl is spun into existence, this one along the sides of the great crater that was once a Vizari city long ago. While there is no denying the need for more soldiers in the ongoing war, the city represents a heavy burden on its companions however, pulling away food supplies from other hives to support its own growth, leaving them less effective as a result. The Krawl have a great need to establish more fungal farms if they are to support such numbers. The Krawl begin to experiment with anchoring their spatial magic to physical objects, allowing them to create small pockets of sub reality where items can be stored and managed. While each one is fairly small, a cart’s worth of goods in a barrel sized pillar of carved and enchanted stone, there’s no denying the usefulness of being able to transport large numbers of items in a small space. > LolunaLunar technology! Though the empress refuses to allow the scientists of Loluna to work directly with the sample taken from the moon, citing some silly concern over all of Pavillion descending into technomagical disaster, she has allowed the creation of a sizable laboratory and the beginning of the Lunar Walker project, an attempt at recreating the great walkers used by the Lunites themselves. The laboratory itself is a straightforward enough thing, more research institute and pile of funding than anything else at the moment, but the walker legs quickly provide a challenge. Building them sturdy enough to hold their weight requires a tremendous amount of power, more than can be found in Loluna. Building them light enough to move causes them to crumple under their own weight. One of these problems needs to be resolved, likely through the discovery of some new metal or precious resource. The mechanism for movement is also quite puzzling. >KhurnaireTake a body and a soul. Chop chop chop.Stick them together. Speak in their voice.Take a body and a soul. Chop chop chop.Stick them together. Speak in their voice.Chop and Speak and Chop and Speak. Even when they scream they still speak. Isn’t it wonderful how you keep on speaking and thinking even through the screaming? Isn’t that great? Oh dear, you seem to be dying. Take a body and a soul. Chop chop chop. One of them survives, eventually? To make a ragged thing, a patchwork of spirits and flesh who only has the voice given to it. It’s a ragged little thing, eager to please with the voice that doesn’t belong to it. Who could have a thought to rebel when someone else has their thoughts for them? But it’s just a ragged little thing, a patchwork doll. But it’s a start.
> Skrit-Krovian-Krawl Shaman Core ShennigansA war is being waged at the red wall, of primal instincts and ancient powers, of the will of shaman and the will of insects clashing against each, both trying to establish control over each other well enough to seize the advantage. Today though it is a stalemate, with neither able to strike a decisive blow against the other, the remaining cores of the wall remain hidden away beneath endless red ants.> Krovian-Habitun Naval FightA disastrous battle at sea occurs for the Igolka navy! The elves have been content to sit offshore and bombard the town with their crystal ballista, raining razor sharp shrapnel onto the town, but causing little true damage besides terrorizing the people of the city. But in their haste the navy of Igolka took the bombardment for something more serious than harassment and charged in directly through it. The crystalline rounds proved quite deadly, shredding sails, cutting down krovian sailors, and leaving the ships as easy prey when a massive fish monster appeared in the water and went on the attack. With ships taking on water, sales shredded, and an entire elven army preparing to board them the sailors abandon ship, swimming for Igolka in a panic as frog-folk and the sea monster stalk them from the deep.---END TURN 37---
>>6323695> AddendumThe navy out of the way, the habitun elves strike at the port itself, clashing with the novice Igolka army. The hardened elves, many long lived veterans of wars fought before the krovians were born, systematically push out the younger, less well equipped army before setting the port ablaze and returning to the sea.
By the great grace of our Lord Aagen, who has granted us this tyrn of the sun, I, King Vone II of the Venks do hereby order;>For the good of our ally the Skrit, we must cultivate the rust gourd for them in the lands about Taxmoss, transporting them to Delta also>Royal Ascent be given to the College of Notables of Hosgate, to perform exploratory surgery in the removal of the Manapit in the condemned
>>6323689The Empire of Loluna thrives. Indisputably the mightiest nation on Pavillion, it now seeks to expand its reach and knowledge. A power source is required to fuel the advanced technologies of the Moonites, and so one must be found for research to continue.Lolunans go all throughout the land in search of new resources for the throne, all in the name of their beloved Empress, and they die in droves to try and achieve this goal.Action 1: Aeonic HoneycombLolunan explorers strike the earth and uncover a vast, vast underground complex of ancestral honeybees, ruled by powerful Bee Supreme Empresses and Bee Hegemons rather than mere Queen Bees. Lakes of this aeonic honey are found, a,one pillars and pillars of honeycomb and grand arches of wax. The honey produced by these fascinating ancient creatures is tested and found to be magical in nature (as well as absolutely delicious), and so harvesting operations are set up to tap into the supply of arcane honey, wax and honeycomb. Leading Vitruvian scholars believe that beneficial potions of health may be synthesised using the substance.Action 2: Explodium FieldsThe search for a power source for the Lolunan Stomper continues and the brave explorers seeking this power source immediately burst into flames, killing the entire expedition and setting part of the landscape ablaze.A second group is able to stumble upon the site, spotting the incinerated corpses of the previous group. They witness a field of blasting fire shooting out from the ground like geysers, the culprit behind this phenomenon being a substance they refer to as Explodium.Countless Lolunans die in the ensuing scramble to tap this new resource, but eventually their deaths result in the establishment of a fireproof mechanical rig able to siphon undisturbed Explodium from beneath the Blasting Fields. The material has the potential to revolutionise fire-based alchemy, and perhaps even fuel the Lolunan Stomper.Military: All armies should be in their respective cities
>>6323689His health has been waning for some time, and though he kept himself active marching with his armies and riding in the saddle unto the last, the governance of the realm had long been delegated unto others; so this is neither a shock nor an unexpected event. But with the dawning of the new age, the death of His Majesty King Guyard the second in the Orcmanie; breaker of the Neverlord and saviour of Sturnes, is finally recorded upon the velum of the Rexen records and proclaimed with great sorrow unto the world by the song of the Troubadours. The King is dead, long live the King! Long live his majesty King Grenlug IV!>Action 1: Never-BreakerA Mace. Once a simple thing, a practical weapon, well-crafted by a prominent Orcman smith. Taken up by a young King, wielded in war; hoisted atop a heap of broken and hewn corpses, and bought down upon the Skull of the Never Lord to shatter it; transforming the young Orcman king into a legend, a hero, a conqueror and a saviour. Again it rose, again it fell; the Nachetar forms shattering and their armies crumbling as the Orcman king led his armies to victory. It is decades now since those desperate wars. Yet as our living memories of those times fades and dies, so does our reverence increase for the remnants. Time and tales have made a mace far more then just a mace, as the work of smiths and artisans has repaired and enhanced the weapon across the tyrns. More then just a weapon, now. It is Never-Breaker. Now it is enhanced with plating of weeping silver, and crafted runes have been carefully carved into the weapon-head without harming the solidity. It has been blessed by Orcman priests unto Ganuz, Hilda, Luxorc and Varez. It is the weapon of the King, a symbol of the Royal House. May all who wield it carry with them the power and prowess of the great warrior-king Guyard II within this artefact weapon, and may it continue to strike down any foes that rise against the Orcmanie, and continue to serve as potent bane against the Nachetar or any other Demonic foe.>Action 2: Frost Chimera ReserveNow that proper training procedures exist for these mighty beasts of the Blanc isle, another area of hitherto-pristine snowy wilderness is set aside to stable tamed beasts no longer in active service, and to breed from them future generations of Frost Chimer better suited to service within the armies of the Orcmanie.

It is time to begin. Many engineers claimed that legs should be exchanged for the same wheels used in the rails, with hardened yet flexible spider silk tracks that could adapt to all manner of terrain, soft and hard. Alas, the final design required the Brasswalker to be closer to the ground, and lose its namesake. Eventually, a compromise was reached involving treads attached to the soles of its feat, allowing it to extricate itself from troublesome terrain as well as glide through pleasant inclines by raising its toes and coasting on its heels.A waterproof property was added as an afterthought, in case the Brasswalker would need to tread water. Some engineers claimed they could come up with levitating soles for it to float above the water surface, but their chimerical visions were -tearfully- dismissed, largely due to lack of funding, time, and feasibility.>Intrigue: Aid the Skrit in taxing more of their lands for food

>>6323692Diviners across the realm report the same prophecy, Catastrophe striking the world. It's exact nature remains unknown, but the dice do not lie. Something must be done to protect the nation, all else pales in comparison to the coming disaster. 1&2. Research and build the Jade PylonsThe gathering of Archamges Metal, weeping silver, continues unabated and will be a critical piece of this puzzle. For the first idea that comes to mind is something similar to what the dwarves creating but more refined with Vizari knowledge. Great pylons of Jade connected with weeping silver and studded with gemstones to hold and collect mana. Enchantments of protection, of every kind, work to shift fate to the prosperity of the nation at the cost of those that would harm it. We can not plan for every possibility but, at least, we can get a general protection up and running to lessen the most likely effects. From there construction begins to cover the nation.
>Action 1: An Examination of the PremisesI never had them appoint a king of their own. It was wisdom. I took the usurper and made him king and kept him elsewhere so that they won't have one. It's a.. awful cliche. Once you have one, and truly have one, and not just say there's one, it all becomes about this most temporal of powers. It's the first thing you stop talking about if you intend to guide them yourself. Now, with that mild incitement from mine School to inflame again the slightest of quote unquote racial tensions, it's time for the favored child to travel, perhaps in the guise of an apprentice to a caravanmaster. He shall wander the Orcmanie's Domo conquests, and while scouting out prospective spirits, witness whatever injustices the Orcmanie inflicts upon the 'Domo' and scraps of whatever remains of the better times that the people had under the 'Domo''s yoke. There's always something if you dig hard enough, and when you find enough bones, you have the power to assemble it all into whatever story you'd like. >Action 2 + 3?: To MoldYou start small. Can't go too far with these things without botching it all down the wastes. It'll be simple. We'll ask for where somewhere is and the spirit will tell us where it is. We'll start with things in its chambers, then Khordavolan, then the Darklands, then the whole of Khurnaire. Increase the scale. Punish it when it gets things wrong. Reward it when it gets things right, but not too much. Once it gets comfortable, then we'll switch the game. Ask it about things that wouldn't be obvious if it was just seeing things as how it did. Then punish it. Then it fails. Then punish it. Then it fails. Then punish it. Once it gets things right, we'll wait. Then we repeat the cycle again, until we're satisfied. Already, to forge it and speak for it, it is our way of worship. We must tell it what miracles it shall provide, and it shall provide. Once it could see the things I seek, then it'll be a few more steps. A few more.>Intrigue Action: DawnIt has become blatantly obvious to us that the Marleniic Pretender must have run some sort of interference with the dwarves. Nothing else explains why all of our attempts at establishing an actual channel of information with them failed. Perhaps she realized what exactly the Khurnaire needed them for. No matter.Something in the winds tells us to visit the Dawn again. When our company is practically expected, it's not unusual for someone to sneak by a spiritual scout to witness the view from the other side.
>>6323693Report on Lesser Activities to Cyra, Noreusper of Guliseare, executioner of Thessa, bane of Kaenum, unifier of the Aripan, Ruler of all the hallowed mountains, Aelelox's chosen prophet, most blessed and holy Aripan to fly upon the skies and walk upon the earth. We have unfortunately received bad news with the foundation of the colony in the far south. The islands are inhabited by the Kaenumites we fought against previously. They have yet to take hostile action against our people, yet we have little doubt that the savages will sooner or later try something. Already efforts to ensure the security of the colony have their construction underway, though really most of this is to buy time should they get attacked rather than to outright win. Even so, by Aelelox's will our colony will grow and prosper into a self sufficient piece of our grand and holy republic that will be a key trading base with the outside world, and a potential jumping off point for any invasion of the southern coastlines. Your faithful servant, Kallixeina.>Action One. Trade of the skies. The colony of Isenzanaro is, in such an early stage, dependent on the homeland. As such, the lifeline that is further ships coming to the colony with more Aripan and supplies is a vital one. While self sufficiency is planned, that will take time. And, at least initially, the colony is just an outpost for the time being, but with a proper sky port to be able to properly unload the airships coming in, the colony can grow faster into a proper settlement. It'll still take quite some time, but this will help if nothing else... >Action Two. Defend the colonies. There are plenty of lessers beyond the peaks of the island we have settled upon. Worse, from what little we can tell so far they are the same lessers that made up the Kaenumites we fought against alongside our neighbors some time ago. Naturally, defenses are to be made using what materials we have. And, with every shipment of food from the homeland, so too is a shipment of stone and arms. Ideally, this alongside the settlements position in the mountains, should serve to ensure it's security for the foreseeable future, and ensure we will have an outpost out in far distant mountain peaks for ages to come. It should at the very least buy enough time for the holy army to come to aid if absolutely required. Though knowing what lessers are nearby, it might be required...Bonus Action: Recon. With the new outpost, further exploration is required. Although given the surrounding islands, simply shipping over some Moivadal and telling them to map out the surroundings will work far better than sending out plentiful numbers of airships. Especially given the lessers are likely none too pleased with our presence.

It is here that the Nixen get to once again see the strength the curse has robbed them of, seeing Orc men and women compete in the same tasks, but it isn't as one-sided as previously thought, as the women manage to excel in some tasks, showing that despite the warranted preference of men to fight, the preconceptions around it has denied potential applications of women in the military.>Action 2: Prospect for metal northwest of Vermillion Grave, southwest of Sturnes. In the interest of more metals for the forge, or metals of other uses, prospectors venture out from Vermillion Grave and Sturnes, they meet each other in the hextre the Pyronix Sanctuary is at, digging tunnels into the countryside, to see what metals lie in these lands. There are also widespread reports of minor miracles, of the power of the gods touching the land and its people, healing broken bones, catching falling children, and soothing wild beasts.>>6324246>Vone II, King of the VenksThe rust gourds are well received by the Skrit, who in turn seem to swell in numbers to quite the vast host, frankly to a worrying size, so many ants can be seen scurrying in the jungles to the south that the land itself seems more like an ocean under their numbers. That such power is contingent on the supplies given by many is of small comfort, though hopefully the Skrit do not decide to take that power more directly under their control. What is done in the darkness of the lower levels of the college is best not said, for many criminals enter and only a few leave, but vigorous doses of aefnung serve to sedate, and application of curative guano serve to cleanse infection, so perhaps not as many die as might have. In the end there are three of them with a mess of scars on their chest and a hole in their body. The effects are concerning in many ways. Horns grow longer, muscles thicker, they eat less but seem more hale and hearty than those who eat more. One sits in his cell, manifesting a flame on a fingertip, gazing into the fire. The other two fly into rages frequently. >>6324791>Empire of LolunaThe gathering of honey is an easy task, pipe systems carved with runes of warmth keep it properly liquid, and then pumps simply pull it up from the vast reservoirs. Changing the filters out is the hardest part.Explodium harvest is certainly not an easy task. Smothering the vents of fire is a difficult task itself, then actually collecting the material, which infuriatingly is a foul sewer smelling gas itself, is also difficult. Pumps and pipes are set up and designed, though there are many concerns over the quality and quantity of the gas, these pumps were hardly designed for moving air. More refinement of the harvest will be required before it is ready for the stomper.
>>6324953>OrcmanieA mighty weapon, as a symbol for a mighty king. The Never-Breaker is a powerful symbol of Orcman authority, and the care and study of runes that when into its forging quickly find their way into the craftsmanship of other Orcish arms and armor as well. Still it is the history of this mighty weapon that lends it that weight, more so than magic that might be infused in it.Ranching a Frost Chimera is no easy task, one may as well ranch a tiger after all. Caves are strategically carved into the hills, herds of goats divided and let loose in the territories, and in time space and food do what they do best and multiply the dangerous beasts to new levels. The tricky part, as always, is in the hands of the knights who must capture and tame the creatures.A few reports wander in from the distant southern half of the empire. There is a young man of the Khurnaire traveling about speaking with the people of their woes and worries, talking of a nation long dead and how all that is left of it is being erased by the Orcman.>>6326101>UrottiThe great brasswalker legs are the next point of construction, a huge network of supports enhanced by dozens then hundreds of runes, utterly immovable if not the great power of the dragon heart core. Of course that does beg the question of how these vast legs are intended to move. The dwarves have the power, but they lack the actual means to convert that power into motion. Fortunately the solution arrives almost immediately from the Habitun elves. Ebony, a curious dark metal found by the elves, pulsing with the power of shadows and darkness. Experiments and studies are run, finding that the metal actually grows, to a point, in darkness, becoming thicker and sturdier. Then in light it contracts, physically shrinking under the light. A system is devised where chains of the dark metal are exposed to bursts of runic light from the dragon heart core, causing the entire assemblage to contract like a muscle, pulling anything attached together. Dwarven scouts once more set out across the Skrit lands, cataloging ideal locations for Skrit drones to forage the area.>>6326102>SkritWar requires tools, and tools require shaping. Vast warrens of shaping chambers are constructed and built, creating vast armies of purpose built drones whose entire life is to live and die as a tool for the swarm.
>>6326105>Habitun CultRanching the horrid camouflaged lizards is a hazardous experience to say the least. Thick gloves are recommended of course, as are a plethora of bells, ribbons, and other ways to track the invisible creatures who turn out to be fairly small, but make up for it with entirely too many sharp teeth. Fortunately the creatures are susceptible to routine, and any that manage to escape their bells and ribbons can usually be counted on to show up for regular meals, where the stains of their food give them away. The vein of ebony ore is a strange and curious metal, with many arguments about what exactly makes it strange. The entire affair is passed off to the dwarves in the hopes that they can do something with it.>>6326202>Justinian the PiousA frequent offering from Khurnaire pilgrims arriving from the south are small trinkets of glass, often mirrors, for the Khurnaire customs of Luxor focus heavily on the nature of light, but also figurines and drinking classes and other precious baubles. Replication of such little treasures is generally assumed as the reason for the construction of the new glassworks in the nation, though in truth it is concern over the need of silver lanterns in whatever threats may come soon, rumors abound that the king has been studying the night sky with concern for weeks on end. One great shift of the earth to clear the way, and another to call up new great pillars of stone to serve as foundations for something new. The fate of a fortress may be destruction in defense of its country, but that sacrifice ensures that a new fortress can be built later in its place.Missionaries to the Urotti find a warm welcome, though no great strides are made in the nation, just a small shrine at the dwarven docks, somewhat overshadowed by a larger ancestor temple nearby. Some bridge must be found between the divine nature of Luxor and the ancestor worship of the dwarves before progress can be made.>>6326296>KroviansIgolka prospectors continue their thankless task of seeking out new metal for the warfront, finding a vein of tin for their troubles. The new Tactical Hall marks a strange new turn in Krovian philosophy, away from the classic ‘CHARGE’ and ‘CHARGE HARDER’, and of course the favorite ‘CHARGE WITH THE BIGGUNS IN FRONT’. Tactics! Encirclements and flanks and not plowing directly through arrows and lava into the enemy. The old veterans grumble that it’s hardly war if you aren’t peppered with arrows and horrific lava burns, but the younger generations seem excited about the possibility of not losing a limb in battle. There’s even talk of some sort of revolutionary device where one holds a plank of wood in front of you to block ranged weapons. Madness!
>>6326370>The Vizari ArchmageThe great jade pylons are beautiful works of art and artifice, but they also quickly develop a terrible reputation. The potent nexuses of luck magic they represent warps reality around them in unpredictable ways, with wild swings of luck both good and bad common in their immediate area. There too is also grave concern with their construction in principle, for while the theory is sound, the redirection of misfortune to another, the question quickly arises about what might happen if there is no responsible party to inflict the misfortune onto? If a great stone fell from the heavens, what is bad luck for a mindless stone? How do such scales get balanced then?>>6326375>AA. of KhurnaireThe young man travels and watches, molded by mentors, seeing the trials of his people. Serfdom, little more than slavery with less chains is the fate of his people, and yet they still occasionally sing the songs of the old people, though more and more they are mixed with songs of newer orcish gods. It is the sight of a crumbling culture, of a people that once was slowly being consumed by something new. A word is whispered to him, of a nation that once existed here and now lay forgotten except by the ones who destroyed it. Domo. The Stitched Spirit screams and howls and weeps, it claws at its face, it howls without words. Questions!? Questions it is to answer!? How can a being with no voice, no thoughts answer a question? It is a puppet! A soul without a mind, a set of clothes to be worn, not an oracle to give truths or a prophet to give meaning! Perhaps the work has been done too well, for this thing the Khurnaire has created cannot answer anything at all, it has no hidden lore save what is puppeted from its mouth. The Blossoming Dawn is a beautiful place, despite the soldiers that seem to fill it. And well defended too, at least on the material, marching any army to the place would require cutting down so many pilgrims and ardent defenders their corpses might bar progress alone. But spiritually such a place is barely defended at all. Certainly there are silver lanterns discretely hung here and there, and the observant might note a shadow where there is no body to cast it, or that visiting Khurnaire sage is casting no shadow at all in the light of one, but to walk as a spirit is the magic of the far south and none practice it here. And so it is only the sages of Khurnaire who see the woman with the loom next to the crystal formation, spinning threads together into a grand tapestry of all that was, and all that might be again. She speaks words only he hears. He weeps tears that only he understands. For the rest of his days the sage refuses to leave the grand temple complex, staying at the shore of the lake to paint images of the woman with the loom.
>>6326399>The Divine Republic of GuliseareNew heavier cargo ships are developed, designed for easier transport and farther logistics, with wide flat designs designed to allow fast loading and unloading of cargo by chaining and unchaining flat barges underneath the vessel rather than within it. There is some concern over the exposed design, but only a few lessers can even reach the vessels and the far greater efficiency in dock operations is definitely worth the risk. Of course a new sturdy stone fort accompanies the airship dock as well, ensuring that when the vessels are low to the ground they’re well defended. The surrounding countryside of the distant Guliseare settlement is scouted quite quickly, and the harpies find to their surprise also quite welcoming of their new neighbors, viewing them as mountaintop guardian spirits, an impression the scouts were careful not to disprove, at least not until further orders came in.>>6326484>Turquoise TurbansThe development of distillation is somewhat of a hard sell among the turbans. After all, while a tiny bottle of moonshine might have the same fire as a bottle of wine, it certainly doesn’t look as appealing as a bottle or barrel of much greater size. Still, it’s far easier to move a tiny cask of alcohol than a full barrel of wine, and most drinkers can’t tell the difference between wine and moonshine cut with water anyway. And of course a more potent liquor is always good for opening up wallets at the brothels.Explorers cut across the landscape chasing rumors of oil, but what they find proves to be nothing more than a flooded ravine darkened by veins of coal. The train engineers will be happy at least.>>6326607>Kingdom of OrdalanThe beauty of the Blossoming Dawn is not without its thorns. The Spears of the Ashen Dawn, an orcish unit, patrols and trains here, policing pilgrims and guarding the premises. To the southwest of Sturnes a vein of fresh new iron is discovered, a lucky boon that will keep the armies well supplied with the tools of war.>>6326636>The KrawlThe engines of war continue their ceaseless churning, with fresh bounties of fungus being grown and ever more furious weapons of war developed. The great Volcanos trade mobility for sheer explosive power, trundling across battlefields to breach enemy lines and break stubborn defenders.Concerning news comes from the southern Hive, of feral molluscoids appearing in the area, picking off pureforms around the edges of the city. Is there a previously unknown nest of them somewhere nearby?
>Battle off the Shore of GribSailing on from Igolka the Habitun navy rounds the coast looking to strike the island of Grib to the south, distant and undefended. However Krovian fleets from Zhelezo and Grib, accompanied by a Krawl militia have formed a blockade to halt their progress. Luring the elven ships in the two navies pincer in on the elves decisively, allowing Krawl forces to be hurled across on miniature krawl-a-pults. For a moment the elven ships are thrown into chaos as they fight off krawl monsters and Krovian ships ramming into their vessels. But slowly but surely the tide of the battle turns against the Krovian and Krawl, the superior number of soldiers each ship containing, managing to cut down the meager Krawl militia and force the Krovians into retreat as the giant fish monster of the elves scuttles ship after ship. The navies of Grib and Zhelezo have bought a little time. The elven fleet, looking a bit worse for wear after two naval battles, turns its gaze toward Grib where it will likely need to force the local population into providing supplies and repairs.>Battles at the Red WallWar rages across the Red wall. To the west Krawl forces of Hive rage bitterly but ineffectively near the BBQ fort, unable to find purchase against the ceaseless tides of red ants. Far to the east there is better luck as the armies of the Fortex and Fungal garden managed to smash open a hole, exposing the fortified hive of Omega. But in the center the grandest work has been undertaken, with Krawl and Krovian working together to try and bend the will of the wall to their will, forcing it to yield its secrets, and the location of its core to them. Calamity is coming however. Unbeknownst to them, slaver wasp larva has been working its way into the meals and drinks of the shaman, and all at once dozens and dozens of Krawl and Krovian forces find themselves snared in their own bodies. Confusion erupts, shamans suddenly betraying their fellows, giving aid to the wall instead of fighting it. A bloody mess of orders, counter orders, and purges later the compromised shaman have been slain, but in the chaos the wall has surged forward, flooding into the healing pits and using the nourishment there to rapidly weave new walls together surrounding the Krovian armies who have just returned from ripping through the wall to the north, only to find it has grown behind them to the south!
By the great grace of our Lord Aagen, who has granted us this tyrn of the sun, I, King Vone II of the Venks do hereby order;>That to assuage the fears of Venkish farmers, research be conducted into potent pesticides>Permanent charcoaling facilities be constructed in the frozen north>Immediate and final cessation of all Venkish trials
>>6326949>Action 1: A port for OrleneAs Adenai itself has slipped ever-further into self-isolation, the gulf of Aden has been left without an active port for the sea-going vessels of other nations to pass into as a midpoint of their voyages. To that end, a new port is laid down at Orlene to be a mid-point between An'naud and Punto Sud upon the western Oceanic commercial route that stretches from Urotti Tojhuset down to Colnaude.>Action 2: Plunder Bats upon the PeninsulaThough the Messenger-Bat is a useful tool for the Orcmanie that allows for the transport and delivery of the post across vast distances, the extent of the new lands of the southern peninsula are a bit too far to be easily serviceable by bats flying from the roost in the Orcmanie proper. As such, a new roost is set to be established in a roughly central location, so that letters might be relayed and mail to Colnaude, Orlene and Ganstand will deliver just as easily. >The Fate of the 'Young Man'A serf has little left but his own honour, and a serf who has broken his oath of service has nothing left. That is known to all. It's supposed to be why only the desperately destitute would choose to become serfs. Or, apparently, otherwise utterly unwelcome intruders from Khunaire. So when one breaks his service and vanishes from the estate of his lord, the plunder-bats fly to carry his image to every local village and estate. But the escaped serf is found first by freemen. There are five of them, a team of Woodcutters. They hear him speak of spirits, hear him ask of the 'better times' beneath the Domo.It is the Slaugh-Orc that throws the first stone at him, and then the second as well; striking his ashen cheek and sending him tumbling into the dirt. Then the Gnoll is upon him as an Orcman pins him down, pummelling his body with blow after blow after blow with snarls of unrestrained fury. The one who shatters the young man's neck with a swing of his cutting-axe could have been a cousin of his, to look at him from a distance; Ashen in skin despite his stylings. But his own family memories of the Domo were most unkind ones indeed. Body limp and bloodied, the 'Young Man' is pinned up up in a young tree with runic oaken stakes, the bleeding word 'Domo' carved into his chest with knife-point. The five each spit upon the corpse in their turn, then say a warding prayer unto Hilda before making their way back to their village. It is the following dawn that the agent arrives to see the mess that has been made.>Bureau Renseignement/Garde Forestier/TroubadoursKhunaire seems intent on causing trouble. The watch of the vigilant must be increased, to keep our lands safe from sneaks and infiltrators. And the Troubadours shall mock the Khunaire-Domo spirit-slaves from village to village.>NavyThe fact that Khunaire is unwelcome in Orcman waters in any capacity needs to be re-emphasised. Any Khunaire vessels that refuse to take this simple hint will be unceremoniously sunk.
>>6326949>Action 1: Tame The Tempest ToadstoolsThe Ebony has shown great capacity for moving the Brasswalker, yet there is another resource we have that has greater capacity still.Should the toadstools be successfully made to act in conjunction with the Urotti's needs, great physical power that could move the very mountains themselves would be at reach. Combine it with Ebony, have it follow its lead, and the Brasswalker's strength would surpass even what its form would imply.Herbalists and sloth tamers both will be put to the task, for a mushroom is no mean plant, nor a besouled beast, but a strange in-between that we must master.>Action 2: Brasswalker TorsoThe most armored piece of the Brasswalker, for should it fall, the limbs become worthless. Its heart beats mana, its lungs breathe Crimson Ale, its Platinum walkways pass maintenance crew and supplies, its Amber Steel skin hardening against force and sloughing off against persistent damage of fire or climber alike.Expenses needn't be spared, for if it fails, naught but the ancestors can save us.
>>6326952A Disaster looms, and a Challenge awaits. The signs and portents are clear and rapidly approaching.1. Grand Lantern in Barzaentium.A Grand undertaking is set forth in Barzaentium, space is cleared, resources are gathered, smiths are called and marshalled. For the King has commissioned a great work in the city's heart. Magic and it manipulation has even been manipulated it its myriad forms by the faithful, even more so under the domain of Silversteel, that most holy metal gifted to the Barzaentines by Luxor. Now, a Grand lantern will be forged, it's light not simple fire and wick, but pure magicka, accumulated and accreted by the faithful, the geomancer and the man at arms. Its light will shine across all of the city's sphere of influence, and it will serve as a reserve for when the darkness comes to Pavillion once again, as it always does.2. The Words of Faith are Sharper than Any Sword. Before Pavillion stands on the brink of Ruin once more, Justinian goes forth to all that Luxor's faithful have touched, spoken too, and converted. He goes to fortify the faithful and the hear of the myriad divisions and snarls that come from spreading to word so wide and far amongst so many different people. He does this so he might save those who can be saved, and guide all those who truly believe in His ways. He also does this so that he might learn, as teaching others helps crystalize ideas and tenants one holds dear into more fully formed and stronger ideals.Missionary Action: The Faithful of Luxor undertake their most perilous mission yet. To go into the lands of Gulisaere and spread the Faith.

>>6329531It seems, I might have been too quickly overtaken by the joys of genesis to understand that the creature that lies in front of me is merely a babe.>Action 1: BabymixI can't have it relying on my sages forever. I need some modicum of internality grafted on it, so that I don't have to get more and more learned sages stuck steering this thing when they could be doing something better. For such a goal, let us say..'The monsters of the Darklands do not dwindle. No one knows how they replenish their numbers, but dark tales are often told, that these strangers are merely glamored to be so, and once you peel away the facelessness and the grinning, you'll see the faces of those who once beared your blood, come to visit yet made twisted in manifest."Such an awful, hopeless, despairing fate. Imagine your freedom, being maligned into such a shape. With that in mind, task the spirit into making a necropolis in the name of preventing such fates, and whether it'll do it on its own or asks for our help, we'll oblige. What happens afterwards is pretty clear, and will hopefully improve its conditions and clue us in on what its 'natural' shape would be like, with minimal interference from our side. >Action 2: Debt Fulfillment #1I'm always waiting on chance. Really, my intents are always diffracted and split and filtered. Damn things lensing it all through. Some random set of coincidences leads this old man into feeling the weight of the old name by mistake, and he thought, I'm dying either way, and my legacy's set with my way spread. Why let my Sonne's death be in vain? So he thinks, this must be what Lord Mana thought, why the Scholarium planned it all through. There must somebody on the other side, things forgotten as the people forget their names in favor of foreign spirits. Someone must care for them, in passing or metamorphosis. He'll spend his silver years invoking the name, and seeing if anyone comes by, in need of attention. That'll do good, wouldn't it?Or well, if he's gone. I can always look north again. Get the Staff to look into what that Weaver on the crystal palace up north's doing to my sage. Bring him south, or learn of his worship to establish yet another temple, preferably in the isles.>Intrigue Action: Byzantine BackingSend some of the pilgrims north. Send some of the "pilgrims" north. From those open-roof vines, I heard, someone's poking around, want some light shining through. Is this enough of a distraction, one wonders. Hehe. Just a friendlier face there, someone open to giving me my rods, open a way to Habitun and their fractures. Just a little bit more. Just a little bit more.
>>6326954With Queen Roza of house Waldetrudis dead, comes the issue of a new queen. While Queen Roza was at first controversial, interfering with the Church of Schwaerz, with the construction of the new temple and unity with our neighbours they cannot complain. So there isn't enough popularity behind any particular princess just yet to win the election. So Ordalan remains queenless for the time being.>Action 1: The funeral of Queen Roza of house Waldetrudis. A grand rose pyre will burn at the Temple of the Blossoming Dawn.Nixen and Anelks gather at the Temple of the Blossoming Dawn, where they add their rose to the queen's pyre. After her Eulogy is given, the lords of Ordalan, even those of Vermillion Grave douse a rose in oil and set it alight before laying it onto the pyre, catching it ablaze. The people all sing as the pyre burns, hope for the new dawn, and thanks to the queen who has passed.>Action 2: Emergence of the Ordalan Chainmail. A marvel of the smith's craft, simple yet elegant. With the new iron entering the market, a new development of the smith's craft. Chainmail has been common in any army, but even the lowest quality has been very expensive, due to the work and patience required. Thus, like with the Spatha and Eyeguard Helm, the smiths come together, share their techniques and experiment, until the new pattern of Chainmail is made. Once again scattered Tellden techniques are incorporated, as well as foreign techniques and new ones invented. The resulting Chainmail is both faster to produce and stronger, making some warriors eschew adding additional layers like lamellar because it just doesn't improve enough on the chainmail alone.>Minor action: Scour for the Piratess in the Khurnaire lands and particularly the jungles. Khurnaire has refused to cooperate. With the delivery of Baron Gustav of house Redwing's report to the other lords of Ordalan, they approve the scouring of their lands. Having them admit to attempt to undermine our authority in our lands, admit to housing the escaped slaves, and not just refuse Gustav's attempt at reasoning with them, but make the meeting into a mockery with their disregard for decorum. Thus Gustav takes to the skies, him and his Songwing retinue scouring the Khurnaire lands for any sign of the Piratess or the Anelks. A particular target are the jungles, being by far the more obscuring location. The Khurnaire authorities may attempt to stop the Songwings, but they can neither hope to catch let alone combat these elite flying warriors and their lightning speed.

>>6326949Action 1: Catastropheum RefineryRaw Explodium is incredibly dangerous in its native state. Luckily the best alchemical geniuses of Loluna have devised a method of refining it further into an even more energetic and horrifying substance known as Catastropheum, which apparently has the required characteristics to power a theoretical “Alchemical Engine”, the device intended to act as the Lolunan Stompers central drive. It could certainly power that, and no end of other horrifying gadgets, mostly weapons. It is advised not to look at Catastropheum too closely, as it is believed by many that the substance reacts poorly to being observed, handled, heated, cooled, ignored, disposed of, stored, added to soups or being used in any way.Even still, despite the risks, the energy reports are off the charts. It’ll work.Action 2: Stomper ProjectAn Alchemical Engine can be constructed to drive the critical mechanisms of the stomper. It’s time to build it, as well as these critical mobility mechanisms all throughout the body and limbs. Once the stomper is capable of full locomotion the final stage will be weaponisation, though that assumes no unanticipated issues will crop up in the meanwhile. The project has already gone grossly over budget, but after a series of refinancing efforts and five declarations of bankruptcy, the stomper project has been rebranded as a flower shop with a speculated value of eight times the annual GDP of Loluna, more than enough to see the project through to its conclusion.Trade: Sell an A-Bomb barrage to the Krawl for an IOU

While good that they understand their place below us, we will need to be careful to maintain such belief for as long as we can, we should be secure in our position there. Otherwise, we seem to be in a time of blessings thanks to Aelelox's mercy. Though, there is reports of an increase in rockslides. If this is a coincidence or not remains to be seen, though some believe it might be the beginning of Aelelox reclaiming our old home and bringing it back to it's rightful place in the sky.Your faithful servant, Kallixeina.>Action One. Fishing post. The colony has plentiful supplies pouring in from abroad now, but a stable supply of food is better than steady shipments that can be cut off. Self sufficiency was planned prior, so a secure source of food was already planned, and what better than that of the sea? There was plenty of fish that could be hunted. Whaling would be exceptionally efficient in finding the beasts at the very least via airship as well, given the altitude allowing far greater ease of seeing the great beasts under the waves from up high so long as they weren't too deep, and fishing the smaller creatures of the sea likewise would be relatively easy. The only issue would be weight distribution, but simply using weights of sand or similar that could be poured overboard as needed would manage well enough.>Action Two. Colonial Prospecting.Similarly, whatever metals that could be found in the colony would likewise be useful for self sufficiency. If iron was found, local toolmaking would be able to be done with ease. Meanwhile anything of value in other ways like gold or silver would naturally be useful for trade, something all the better given the original planned use of the colony in the first place. Regardless, whatever was found would probably be useful to the Republic, and future plans with the colony...>Intrigue? Action: The surprising number of humans entering Republic lands will simply be intercepted, as most who enter Republic territory, and after being asked their business politely (by Aripan standards towards lessers) but firmly be told to leave. Perhaps most concerningly is the sight of the divine empress of Loluna staring up at the night sky, face stricken with worry, though she will not say to what end.>>6327453>Vone II, King of the VenksThe fledgling chemist’s department of the College of Notables is a curious place of imported glassware and odd at arms length experiments as Venks do their best to sort out the mundane from the magical and which requires the six foot poles and which can be handled more leisurely. The first task at hand is a pesticide, something to manage the ceaseless mass of Skrit drones, especially those of the red variety. To this end a distillation of Aefnung is found quite effective, doubly so if it is mixed with the rind of a rust gourd. It is a concerning thing to need though, with the Skrit seemingly becoming more feral by the day.Settlers to the far north have long relied on dwarven contraptions to help heat their homes, digging heating pits in their homes to house the magical devices far from Venkish auras. Still, one yearns for the embrace of a close fire, though such a thing is often a luxury this far north where there is more snow than trees, and finding a dry patch of wood is a hassle. To say nothing of the need for hot fires to run forges! The new supplies of charcoal will be greatly appreciated by these communities. The files and documents are sealed, the prisoners are ordered executed. Two of them are dispatched easily enough, but the last bursts from his cell in a great conflagration, cackling madly and launching himself into the air on great bursts of fire, causing a great spectacle as he left to the rooftops. A twisted sense of luck was with him however, for moments later he misjudged a step and tumbled to his death, breaking his neck on the hard stones below.
>>6327488>OrcmanieThe port at Orlene fills an important void left by the Adenai, though its placement so close to its sister port is of no small concern. Hard eyes elves are often seen watching the ships as they sail by, and more than once a confused sailor has been chased off by arrow and even ballista bolts, the elves making it quite clear they do not want guests.Bat-mail has fast become something of a common luxury among the Orcmanie. While not quite as fast as a Roc, the bats are far easier to spread out to more distant villages, and as a result even small and remote locations keep a small roost of the curious creatures, using them to communicate quickly with far off locations and even send small packages.Khurnaire rabble rousers! Of all the foolish things to do, traipsing about talking about the good old days under a nation of mad wizards. Take that tripe to the Vizari up north or the lunatics across the mountain! The Orlene countryside is dotted with mass graves of villages infected with Domo madness that had to be put down when the Orcmen first came here, and it only takes one look upon the shrine to Hilda at each one for the locals to remember how that all went down.>>6328225>UrottiTo move the great limbs of the Brasswalker with the power of wind is unfortunately beyond the power of the Tempest Toadstool, though they are mighty enough to hurl a dwarf or some furniture about, they simply can’t manifest enough power to move the massive limbs of the Brasswalker. What they can move however are a variety of small mechanisms, in many ways similar to simple blowpipes that children might use for pranks and mischief. Of course powered by tempest toadstools the blowpipes of the Brasswalker are more akin to cannons, a word that has to be looked up from the old tomes of ancient dwarven artifice. Squat and broad like the dwarves themselves, the torso of the brasswalker is a vital and central piece of the construction, the point where communications, controls, and power all flow to and from. Amber steel marked with runes of frost covers it in two layers, one outer and another around the central heart, for there can be no doubt that any damage to the heart of the walker would be disastrous. A full command center, and even tightly packed beds are built into its sides.
>>6329199>Justinian the PiousThe Grand Lantern of Barza is a wondrous sight to behold. A beautiful construction of silversteel and marble, engraved with hundreds of stories of Luxor and the acts of the faithful in his service, it takes the form of a large paved city square, rising up in three levels with a silversteel decorative fence surrounding the interior where the grand flame dances and fills the city with light and warmth from within a shallow depression. It is no simple decoration however, for the mages of the city are trained to pull from it in times of need, enabling dramatic displays of power in the defense of the city.Justinian travels the land speaking to the faithful, learning, correcting, and sharing. The faith of Luxor has taken many forms over the years, spreading and changing into many things across the land, the Mirror Lord of the Khurnaire, Luxorc of the Orcmanie and the Gentle Butcher of the Krovians. Here is a chance to set many of the records straight, though many of these odd variations in turn become aspects of Luxor in turn, symbols of what the god can do and become when the need is present. Missionary work in the mountains of Guliseare is dangerous and hasty work. Inquisitors hound them from all sides and the missionaries are on the run almost immediately upon entering the country. Nonetheless they manage to stay a step ahead of the enemy, leaving a trail of converts, freed slaves, and subverted Aripan in their wake. Much of this is in no small part due to a group of Khurnaire missionaries who arrived not long after them, ostensibly to aid the message, but unfortunately found themselves an unwitting distraction for the harpy inquisition.>>6329433>Habitun CultBirger emerges from the mines of ebony a changed elf. Somehow he has molded and melded the material to himself, the light and dark sensitive material shifting and changing to his will. He speaks not at all now, not even in poetry, but he carries holy books with him and will indicate passages for his thoughts. He flits about the nation like an insect might flit about a room, leaping hundreds of feet into the air, then shadowstepping to a point hundreds of miles away. He returns one evening with fresh fish from the Orcmanie markets, cooks them for others, but never eats himself. All the world is before him.An embarrassing accounting error is discovered, a quarry that was thought built was in fact never actually ordered in the first place. A rapid correction is issued, much to the comfort of elves wondering when the supplies to repair their homes would arrive.
>>6329506>KrawlRecent military struggles have highlighted a critical issue in the Krawl supply lines. There simply isn’t enough food to go around. Four hives of Krawl are a tremendous force vast and terrifying in number, but only when enough food has been supplied for them. Where other nations might build in stone or wood, the Krawl build in biomass, and so require twice the food. Vast fungal farms are established to fill bellies (or belly analogues) of the swarm. For the first time in quite some time the Krawl swell to proper full strength, save for Candiru which requires some sort of facility for the shaping of arms and armor, perhaps a forge. The oceans near Hive have begun to fill with an unpleasant discovery, Molluscoids are beginning to populate in the water, swelling in numbers. While no threat to the city yet, in time they could amass to a concerning size.>>6329508>Vizari Arch MageOver and over the dice roll to Calaminity, with such alarming regularity that even those without magic have noticed the pattern in their own dice. And so the wizards turn to the humble effigy ant, weaving spells tapping into the mindscape that influences the ants to project new images into their simple minds. Totems of luck, tiny ones of course, but spread across all the isle such a thing could be quite powerful. Initial plans to spread the ants across the mainland crumble unfortunately, the ants find themselves fairing poorly outside the island, but streams of ant produced totems however flood the markets to the south at bargain prices in an attempt to protect the mainland as well, flowing into Orcmanie, Urotti, into Bahay and across the mountains.
>>6329531>KhurnaireA creature too controlled loses its own will. Such is the nature of the stitched spirit, the tiny god that the Khurnaire sages have created. Made from broken spirits, its own voice erased in favor of the voices of others, it is a mind without a will, and a soul without identity. And even a god is no good at all if it has no will to take action. But the nature of this little god makes it simple enough to modify, to adjust, even as it is puppeted along to pull up earth and stone and build a necropolis. Then it travels from village to village, gathering the dead, uttering prayers in its hoarse tongue. In the depths of the necropolis it takes its dues, a piece here and a piece there, at first under the tutelage of its puppeteers, but slowly, from the will of the fallen, something begins to build together, something with a will made entirely from the Khurnaire settlers, but layered over the muscle and soul of broken spirits. It makes requests, then demands, then finally it simply goes one night. Its minders find it ruthlessly hunting the monsters of the wastes, doggedly defending the villages of the region until it collapses from exhaustion. The name Domo provokes curious reactions from the little spirits of the world. Some fear, some sorrow. What the man or perhaps another man finds is the curious abundance of them. The Orlene countryside is rife with little spirits, many in the form of slaug and ash skin, gnoll and lamia. None acknowledge the name Domo with any loyalty though, or indeed anything beyond an acknowledgement that they were a nation that once was, and is no longer. As the man visits with these myriad little spirits he comes to realize the oddity, they are all young, not even one is old enough to have actually seen the Domo, they only know of it in passing, a story told to them by another.Missionaries set off north to Guliseare to aid the spread of Luxor’s faith, but they have vanished into the mountains and are long overdue on their return.>>6329562>Kingdom of OrdalanChainmail worn over the thick layers of a gambeson quickly becomes the de facto standard of the Ordalan armies, providing a fine layer of protection over the body.A grand funeral is given to the fallen queen, prayers, scented oils and rose smoke rising high into the sky. The journey into the jungle quickly turns into something of a disaster. Thick jungle undergrowth make flight nearly impossible for those without experience, and while finding the anelks is simple enough, finding a particular one is quite difficult for there are no small numbers of Anelk here, living in villages clustered around a sizable temple in worship to the river spirit. Unsurprisingly they are quite unwelcoming and more than a little closelipped about any mentions of pirates, and the baron cannot discover any clues about their location on his own, though he knows something must be in the area.
>>6329568>SkritThere can be no mistake, this southern war will be won or lost on the basis of not military skill, but on plentiful supplies, on vast shipments of grain and fruit and brined meats. And so ants pour out to pound and carve roads into the land, expanding the reach of the great dwarven network of roads, hoping to allow even more supplies to flow to their frontline. Meanwhile ever more walls spring up around the hives to the south, digging in for the certainty of a long war.The Red Wall is a strange thing, even by Central’s standards. In many ways it is itself a hive, or a series of them, but at the same time it lacks the higher mind of Central, seeking only to entangle ever more of the world in its grasp. Perhaps one day it could evolve to something more nuanced such as Central, but for now affirming its loyalty and ensuring no accidents occur is enough.>>6329658>Empire of LolunaThere are always skeptics of course. Those who say Catastropheum is a poor fuel choice, or that the entire stomper is a walking bomb large enough to level a city, or that the onboard flowershop has subpar roses. And to that one only needs to point to the floral garland the empress has taken to wearing on her head for all the evidence one needs that the flower shop is a grand success.Sorting out the alchemy engine on the other hand is nothing short of a nightmare. Prototypes suffer greatly from the tremendous power of catastropheum, apparently explosions are an all or nothing sort of thing, at least according to the team of scientists running at full speed from the lab moments before it was launched into the sky. Hundreds of technical issues have to be sorted out, optimal explosion size, stable detonation sequences, how to make that explosion actually perform something useful, well suffice to say more work on the matter will be required unless the goal is a stomper than can only move in 300 meter increments, assuming the legs are properly synched and don’t tear themselves to pieces. An odd incident has occurred. In the midst of Hohenholm there stands an ancient monument, a statue of one of the smoke lit masters. On this tyrn a black carriage arrived at this monument and a young human woman stepped out and stared at it for several minutes before fetching a sizable sledge hammer from a nearby market. Quiet before anyone knew what had happened she smashed the statue to pieces, revealing a frame human within it who was also smashed as well. The statue slayer is currently in custody.
>>6329773>Krovian BandsKrovian tempers run hot in Igolka, almost as hot as the new forges springing up through the town pounding tin and lead into subpar weapons, but weapons nonetheless. Elves! Stinking elves are making a fool of them, running hit and run tactics far from the proper frontline of the battlefield, as usual engaging in their cowardly avoidance of proper battle, hitting barely armed civilians instead of proper warriors. Well no matter, because they’ll have to return by Igolka eventually, and when they do a proper Krovian army will be waiting for them, teeth bared.Krovians are given the order to find wood, and find it they shall! That there isn’t enough wood in the grasslands of krovia is no concern, lumberjacks simply cross over into Krawl territory and take some of theirs. They won’t mind, right?>>6329995>The Divine Republic of GuliseareLife at the distant colonial outpost is a quiet thing. Skimmer ships, sea faring vessels lightened by Orichalcum, skip across the waves dragging nets behind them catching fish until they sink properly into the water. The locals keep their distance, except when dropping off reverent offerings of fruits and wild game. This all changes at the grim discovery of the Pallid Metal. An unpleasant mix of off-white and yellow, the metal seems to squirm unpleasantly in the corner of the eye. Within the week of its discovery the colony is suffering badly from disease after disease, a condition that persists until every last scrap of the cursed metal is gathered, sealed in trunks carved with holy symbols, and buried far from the colony. Once the dead are buried inquisitors are sent for to determine what is to be done with the foul metal.>>6330071>Turquoise TurbansThe rail network expands ever onward, expanding the reach of the Turbans and their allies. The study of Skrit pheromones hits a number of roadblocks the first of which is developing an understanding of how the Skrit communicate in the first place. Krovian mantid tamers suggest that perhaps the ants use scent in a similar fashion to the mantids, but initial attempts to launch bombs of incense into the ants leads to little more than researchers torn limb from limb. Eventually careful observation finds that the ants share information with beads of a dew like substance, though finding a way to exploit this seems difficult.
> Jungle BrawlAt the Red Wall Turban forces arrive at last, beleaguered and worn down from long travel on the heels of the lunar war, but still ready to fight. They crash into the Red Wall outside of the Fungal Garden, steam launchers riddling the wall with iron spikes, boars crashing through waves of red ants with ease. Biotitan siege engines tear down the nearest section of wall piece by piece. Though poison and fire seem to do little to the hordes of ants, their more psychological effects wasted on the ants, sheer physical force wins the day.The armies of Grib and Zhelezo trapped behind the wall move to rejoin their comrades, but find their path is blocked by hordes of ants. The four armies clash together in an open field, the skrit forces yielding under the ferocity of the sharks and retreating to the Omega Hive, though it is overcrowded with ants. They approach the BBQ fortress just in time to find a great host of ants in retreat from it, having been driven off by the combined forces of Pesok and the Krawl Hive armies, alongside the myriad High Krawl forces.> The Plunder of GribElves fall upon the city in a grim tide after the massacre of their envoy. Krovians are cut down in the streets, what meager defense can be mustered from old veterans and the police force is simply not enough in the face of the full army. Warehouses are plundered of everything that can be fit onto the elven ships, then the rest torched. Krovian craftsmen are pressganged into service at arrowpoint into making repairs. The city at large is held firmly under lockdown, with any krovian who steps onto the streets being made an example of, encased in tombs of brick and mortar up to their neck. Cruelly the elves require other Krovians to lay the stones or join them. Their ships resupplied the elves set flame to the city, collapse the molluscoid farms releasing the beasts into the ocean and return to the open water.---Turn 39 End---PLEASE WAIT FOR TURN 40 INTERMISSION
>GlobalThe earth shakes. Rivers flood, rocks come crashing down from the mountains. A thousand dark clouds fill the sky as the earth ripples and shakes, moving like water. Thousands die across the land as buildings topple. In the aftermath as nations pick up the pieces and rebuild their lives they find the world has changed. In some places great crystalline growths have torn through the ground, in others great fountains of a gritty black paste oozes from deep wounds in the earth. The first, Thaumacite, radiates vast amounts of magic, amplifying the power of all magic around it and enabling runic constructs that before were impossible to now function with ease. The second, Spark Sand, is a dangerous flammable material that can be easily refined into a variety of applications, enabling both devastating mortal weapons and boundless mechanical tools. Either one lends a tremendous advantage to the nation who controls and understands their power. And yet, the two seemed opposed to each other on a fundamental level. High levels of mana render Spark Sand inert or weakened, while the smoke and dust from burnt Spark Sand has a mild anti-magic effect. While it’s possible to use both together in some capacity, neither can truly shine unless the other is absent. One final twist in the new landscape of Pavilion is the presence of the Ether Lands, lying where the Skrit once were, and in the Cursed Lands. The great hives seem to have vanished, having been devastated by new mountains ripping from the earth, but in their place is a strange land where the walls between realities are thin and strange things press against them. The full nature of the Ether Lands is not yet fully understood.A new age of invention and innovation sweeps across the land. Old preconceptions about what is possible and impossible have shattered, and a thousand new possibilities unfold. Mechanics, Engineering, Enchanting, Spellwork, and even the presence of the Divine all seem nearer and more possible. The Empress of Loluna herself holds a grand exposition of Lunar technology ‘imported’ from her homeland, filling those present with hundreds of ideas for new possibilities that break all the existing limitations of technology mundane and technical.---Turn 40 Begins---THE GAME WILL END IN 10 TURNS.
By the great grace of our Lord Aagen, who has granted us this tyrn of the sun, I, King Vone II of the Venks do hereby order;>That vital trade be continued, a roc port be constructed between Avesten and Hallowthwaite>College of Notables alumni be sent to study the Thaumicite spires, and if our nature might drain the abominations
>>6330328To all to whom this may concern,The decline of the world is of this institute's utmost concern. As such, a reorganization of the Great Khurnaire's many organizations shall occur in a tyrn's time, centralizing all power so that the Great Khurnaire may take the wise and reasonable actions necessary for its greater good. The esteemed cadre of Lord Mana, whom by her request we shall now refer to as Kholan, will be the vanguard of this rationalization, and any negotiations and/or concerns to be considered their matter and not within our jurisdiction. We will log a complain to them if any considers this matter still ours. We thank you for your time and attention, and bid your cooperation for the Great Khurnaire's well and prosperous future.-The Staff of Affairs Profane on the Heart of Khurnaire. >Action 1: Temple to NightKholan has written her few requests of the theology we shall assemble for the Woven Spirit. First, she requests that the Woven Spirit be specifically, the Night. That the Woven Spirit should represent in some way, and should be pushed to 'spreading' the Night, or preparing for the 'dawning' of Night. We suspect that this is in some way to cover for the Mirror Lord's lack of coverage to this period of time, and we will direct the myth to be conditioned on... "When the Mirror Lord is at his weakest.." and so on.Lastly, she requests that the Woven Spirit be 'subtle'. She did not elaborate further. We assume that, this is paired with the first request for a reason, that it is taking advantage of the inherent unawareness that comes with the darkness of Night to be more.. sneaky. In better words, we shall spread the avenging tales to those under the right conditions.Besides the official, and the usual concerns of what the Temple shall look like, she has asked that the Woven Spirit be involved with these matters, and if the Woven Spirit is content with 'it'..>Action 2: Incursions into the EtherealWhile we trust our partner to investigate the Spark, this curious phenomenon has seemingly appeared on the Darkland's doorsteps and likely uninvestigated by the brutish Ordalanii. We shall gather the few Sages who took interest in the previous few tyrnes' fraying of the world, and have the militia and the Woven Spirit to investigate these ethereal realm, hopefully rescuing whatever few of our settlers that were lost, and gaining a basic understanding of this new dominion.>Intrigue Action: A Pinch of ThaumaThe near enough locations of the crystalline growths to the Vermillion Grave should be a good enough plausible excuse for why the smiths there could take a little into their forges to experiment with, and some some amount just disappearing into nowhere, perhaps into the river, and miraculously make its way into our hands for a proper investigation. Steady enough fundamentals, the juniors can take of the busywork while we consider how to extract our 'pilgrims'.
>>6330328Action 1: Moonbeam ArtilleryThe secrets of the moonite treasure finally unveiled, these fun things are taken apart and studied as much as they can be. How do they work, what are they made of, what can we substitute the unavailable materials out for and how soon can we roll these things out into production?Already this new resource “Thaumicite” is presumed to be necessary to provide the relevant power for such weapons, and it is sought zealously from our neighbours, but even putting the matter of a power source aside the Lolunans do their very best to decipher how this tech works such that they can replicate it en-masse once enough thaumicite is acquired. Solve the theoretical issues fully first this time, not like the stomper project.Action 2: Stomper work continuesWork on the stomper continues. Theory after theory fails, requiring new theories, new models and brighter minds. Soon all of the theoretical problems in creating the great walking fortress will be solved, and all efforts can be put into full production. Until then, work harder!
>>6330328>Action 1: Thaumicite for the BrasswalkerYet another pair of materials are unearthed in the ancestral lands. Historical records barely hold mention of them, but their applications are clear.Much as the guilds would love to study the Sparkicite and its potential, the appearance of these materials indicates that time is of the essence. The longer they dally, the stronger the foes get, and the closer they are to an enemy at the gates, not least when the bulwark of the Skrit have fallen. And so the more practical element is examined: Thaumicite. Its power rivals that of the processed vapors Habitun would ship over, but the actual limits, best methods of handling, forging combinations, and other important details were yet to be known. A treatise is assembled, with each clan presenting its findings to be documented and tested.>Action 2: Brasswalker HeadWhilst the Brasswalker could, in theory, fully function with but its legs and torso, a unanimous agreement was made that it would look ugly as sin without a headpiece. But what to place in there? Most obviously, the head was a weak point. But it needn't be. Primary venting is routed through its integrated diadem, allowing for heat dissipation to also provide an intimidating factor, of a steaming head. Reverb iron plated with amber steel is latticed throughout its grooves, each ridge channeling impacts downwards, through the torso, and into the legs.Next, the eyes and ears. A complicated observatory is constructed, the first of its kind, with toadstool-maneuvered lenses and pipes that gave a multitude of viewpoints around the Brasswalker, not just from the head, but through viewports on every important point on and in its body. And a network of reverb iron plates from the soles of its feet would divert minute tremors sensed through the ground, nullified by resonant frequencies caused by the Brasswalker itself for any 'noise', allowing only useful noises to filter to a Habitun bathysphere submerged in a tub of water. And within both bathysphere and observatory, several teams of Habitun svartalfar would sit in meditation, pondering how to best direct every maneuver and attack based on the information being perceived.>Intrigue: Continue securing the Brasswalker and its supply lines against sabotage and espionage

She has grown up on the legends of Sasha the Vermillion Blade, and she has studied the blade for much of her life. She has seen many Nixen scarred by its flames, but when she tries her hand on the blade, the flames part around her, the sword behaves in her hand. With the sword in hand, Vermillion Grave fully supports the young Anelk princess, especially the Red Hoods.>Minor Action: Improve relations with the Anelk exiles, merciful judgement on any pirate he finds. With little to go on but these exiles, Gustav would spend time with them. Bringing supplies from Ordalan and hiring local Anelks to build some quarters for him and his retinue, caring little for the protests of the Khurnaire. Another thing he does is investigate and mostly pardon the escaped slaves, even if they are found to have assisted the pirates. What little punishments there are is light, even reducing killing down to a fine, which he offers an avenue to pay off by working for him.
>>6330127>>6330128>Action 1: GlassworksImporting even fractional amounts of Glass from Barza or Vizari seems to become ever-more costly with ever Tyrn, so it is decided with royal ascent that the Orcmanie needs our own glassworks. Finding land for a Glassworks site is no trouble, for the dunes of the desert near the fallen city of Urong are rich in the sand it will use, the only question is if any sands are better then others. If everything is equal in sand quality between the desert areas, the northernmost portion of the desert that is considered closest to our transport routes will be chosen.>Action 2: Using Elf TearsThere's definite potential in the gas by the name of 'Elf Tears' as a weapon, given that an escaped pocket of the gas was able to easily wipe out a whole village and then immolate the remains. But can such a weapon be controlled, and safely used without harm to the operators or other allies? And is it best to use it as a weapon at all, or are there other applications that might not yet have been thought of? The task is given to the military engineers of the Brise-seiges to come up with a practical use for this gas, and a way to make it work for us without killing our own warriors.>Espionage: A cut branch grows roots Patrocliot Gerevette is a named known to most in the Orcman court, though few now can truly say any more then that of who this Half-Elf is... Or was. For, once, Patrocliot had been a leading statesman of Adenai. He had led Adenic efforts in the Bahay war, fought alongside King Guyard - the first one - and made a personal friendship. But then Lucius rose in Adenai, blowing the branches in his breeze. Patrocliot failed in his attempt to win Orcman support for Adenai plans to launch another war, and Lucius did not forgive that failure. Exile followed, and with it shame. Homesickness. The second Guyard never had much time for Patrocliot. Why consult much with an old exile when the great king had already won much grander battles against far fiercer foes? And so he had become more an irrelevance with each tyrn that passed, stewing in bitterness and depression. Now, this Grenlug boy is king, and his words are being heeded once more as the situation on the borders deteriorates. The King has even granted him a stipend, after so long. And once he has coin again, he finds plunder-bats surprisingly cheap to hire. They fly by night, go where directed. Drakes fly by day and sight, and Adenai has no whounds to howl at flying visitors smelled in the dark. So why not reach out to old friends and family back in Adenai, contacts who lost position and status when Lucius rose? Promise them a restoration. Build up a network. Begin organisation and preparation, start to win over soldiers and generals and armies. A building, growing, private network of his very own, just awaiting the signal and moment that the heirs of Lucius might be swept away. And that he might then someday return home to HIS city.
>Military:>Army of ColnaudeWith news of the Weeping Silver mine collapsing, and the other Orcman armies occupied in various roles and places, it is the Army of Colnaude that is deployed the distance to go check up upon the site of Urong. One horrendous monster has already escaped the grounds of the fallen city, after all; could this mine-collapse be an effect from another monstrous emergence?>NavyA sizable contingent from the northern Orcmanie fleet is deployed to Orlene, to protect shipping from the threats of Adenai attack and keep our own waters secure.

>>6330328Report on Global Incident to Cyra, Noreusper of Guliseare, executioner of Thessa, bane of Kaenum, unifier of the Aripan, Ruler of all the hallowed mountains, Aelelox's chosen prophet, most blessed and holy Aripan to fly upon the skies and walk upon the earth. The situation is an unfortunate one. Due to the great tremors that struck the whole of this wretched planet, a clear ploy by Kaenum to be sure, there have been numerous avalanches all across the country. Not just here in the capitol. Thankfully, due to our people's ability to fly and extensive transportation measures for the sky, we were able to learn of this quickly, and can work to rebuild right away. However, curiously, something new has been noticed in our lands because of this, and further investigation is required. Though, the strange substance seems to be sand like in nature. We do not know if any other countries have found something similar, but we surely will learn with time...Your faithful servant, Kallixeina.>Action One. A strange new substanceWith the fairly damaging recent events, some good news exists at least. A new material to experiment with and see potential uses of. Naturally, this will take time though Ourania seems very interested in the material. Still, it's extraction is immediately underway and so to is figuring out just what this could be used for. Of course, if it's anything bad, we can just seal it away and ensure no one gets to it should it do something unholy, for it is entirely possible this is a horrific creation of Kaenum that could serve to poison and destroy everything that we have worked to build in some way shape or form...>Action Two. The Embers..."Life is a blessing. One cannot waste it. The only way one can waste it is if they view themselves as having done so. And, if one recognizes this as a fault, they can change. They can still do what they consider meaningful. And when they are long gone, a part of them will be with everyone whom they cared for, and who cared for them. And that ember will follow the torch that those same people will pass to those around them."

>>6330377>Vone II, King of the VenksFor the people of Vencia, so far from the wild magic of the west, the Rocport is a grand and strange thing. Each of the birds is seemingly a legend all to itself, with wings and talons that seem as though they could pluck a home from the earth and carry it away. And yet, like the Venks themselves, the birds are entirely mundane.Such mundanity is put to the test as scholars of the college approach the Thaumicite Spires. The pale pink crystal formations shine with light as the Venks draw near, a light that follows the greatest cluster of Venks near it. If there was ever a doubt that Venks draw magic to themselves it is certainly dispelled now! Over two months of study a number of concerns arise. The first, is a change in the researchers themselves. A few inches of height, a definite increase in muscle tone, horns growing more prominent. The second is that the spires stubbornly continue on with their shining despite the closeness of the Venks, only when a small piece is chipped away can its light be properly drained away, and even then it only requires a few minutes before it flares back, shining like a lamp. Considerable digging is also done at the base of the spires, revealing them to be quite deep. By the end of the study a curious contraption is devised, where with a little practice, a pair of tongs and a thaumite crystal a Venk can send pulses of mana light through a chain of the crystals, sending simple little messages down a series of crystals.Other studies suggest that the tremendous magic could be shaped into spells, even by a Venk, with the use of material that resists or halts magic. Very interesting possibilities all around.
>>6331565>Empire of LolunaThe magic of Moonbeam Artillery has long been a fascination of Loluna. Sketches of great rocs with holes punched straight through their wings, first hand accounts of the mighty weapons, and passed down stories have elevated them to the status of legends in the decades since the lunar war. But now, with actual artifacts to study, the locked warehouses finally unveiled, something can be done to push toward seizing those legends! The design is deceptively simple. A large glass focusing lens serves to concentrate power, which itself comes from intricately designed runes so small they appear to be little more than texture on sheets of metal, but actually serve to mold and shape tremendous magical power into a mighty beam of pure kinetic force. Recovered crystals from the moon appear to be the key source of this power, though surely they can be replaced with some other power source. The lunar workshop is poised, ready to produce a steady supply of Moonbeam weapons, if some intensive magical power can be found to fuel them.At long last the final stages of the stomper come together. Engineers working day and night manage to conquer the mechanical issues at the heart of the great machine, implementing dozens of complex systems that allow the explosive power of Catastropheum to be converted into smaller, more manageable bits of movements. There’s even talk of harnessing these alchemy engines for things other than gigantic golden fortresses that electrocute the surrounding area every time a bad breakup occurs near them. Flower shop subsidies are increased regardless, in hopes of promoting stable and happy relationships.
>>6330380>AA. of KhurnaireFirst will and purpose, then nature and a name. The Woven Spirit named Night takes well to the art of subtlety, to the nature of shadows and stealth and subterfuge. It seems to care little for the exact nature of the temple though, seeing it as more a temporary resting point from which it can launch midnight crusades against the monsters of the Cursed Lands. As a consequence the temple takes something of a militant and austere style, and Night itself slowly becomes a more lean and intense being. It shows intense interest in the Mirror Lord, asking countless questions about her opposite number. Is it to be a rival to the Mirror? A teammate? A lover? All of these things? The sudden surge in questions, in thoughts and worries and concerns takes the sages off guard, for years Night had no voice, and now it was pondering love? The Etherlands are a strange place, utterly contradictory to the wasteland of black sand and white bone of the Cursed Lands. Life runs rampant here, plants growing in thick jungles in some places and being suffocated under fields of mycelium webs in others. Odd three eyed creatures scurry through the undergrowth. The air feels thin here, a fact illustrated well as a violet tiger leaps from nowhere, reality tearing like paper to show a frayed opening to another place where towering violet trees sway and an elf stares back from the other side. Then the walls close as quickly as they open. The tiger is slain by Night within moments, but of more interest are its claws, which the spirit picks up and uses to cut another rip in reality, peeling back the layers as though one might a ripe fruit, revealing the elves on the other side again. Fascinating. Night speculates that with a little effort one might construct gates to hold these tears open, allowing one to simply walk from one place to the other.Perhaps more fascinating still is the brilliant light that envelopes the area suddenly, blinding and searing the flesh of those present until Night whisks them to safety. The earth shakes, splits open, and a massive spire of pink crystal rips out of the ground! As the light fades an entire army of dark elves becomes visible! What has happened here?Acquiring the pinkish crystal is no easy task for the Khurnaire smiths, but a few pinches are found here and there and applied to the forge. It does nothing for fire, but when worked into an alloy with iron there are some promising possibilities that arise, though nothing concrete and predictable emerges. There are remarkable opportunities for enchantments and allows never thought possible though.
>>6331653>UrottiThe dwarven clans set to work. The resulting thaumite alloys are no better in physical characteristics than their mundane counterparts, but any runes etched upon them hold tremendous power, runes of blinding light, utter darkness, unbreakable blades or white hot metal. These alloys flow into key components of the Brasswalker, critical armor plates, spotlights and other tools, to say nothing of the enhanced effect they have on the ebony chains that allow the great artifact to move at all.The final piece of the Brasswalker is the head. Largely symbolic at first, more a piece of art than function, it soon finds itself serving as the primary observation post of the great machine, a network of mirrors and listening posts, reverb iron listening rods and analysts working together to provide a steady stream of information to the command center in the belly of the giant. The great giant slowly but surely rises up off the mountain’s side. The Brasswalker is mobile and ready.>>6331705>Habitun CultIt is the grandest work of magic the world has ever seen, made possible only by the crystal spire at the center of it, and tyrns and tyrns of magical study on the top. The Habitun elves of Bikube shove the entire Thaumicite spire into the ether, the world between worlds, carrying themselves along on the tide. Violet light fills their eyes, impossibilities swim before them, then an instant and an infinity later they find themselves on solid ground again, a group of ash skinned Khurnaire staring at them. The Skritari are immensely grateful for the hand of friendship stretched out to them by the Habitun Elves, finding themselves suddenly bereft of their mother and god by the calamity that has overtaken them. So sudden, so terrible is the disaster that they do not even know if their sisters in Cockaign still live, for the great hivemind that once connected them all is utterly shattered. All that remains is the business of sorting out the logistics of feeding, housing, and managing these people. She is the raven, the crow, the goddess of war, the mare-queen. The Morrigan. The Aripan of Shadow has traveled into the either with a cask of terrible magical power. The cask is gone now, and so is much of her mind, but something else lives there now, some other entity, a laughing witch bound by chains of loyalty woven from the young lady’s will, a goddess of war trapped in the confines of mortal flesh, but nonetheless one which calls upon terrible power and skill in service of Habitun, even as it mocks it with every other word.
>>6331721>KrawlEver more vast warrens of fungus are carved into the earth, wherever hot springs or magma flows can be found, producing the hot muggy environment so favored by krawlspore. Ever useful, these great ropes of fungus will in turn supply the armies of the Krawl, indeed such a surplus has been piled up that perhaps the time has come to bring the Rachni back into the fold by granting them their desire for a High mind of their own.Colonizer forms move forward into new lands on the recommendations of the scouts, who find the Ethereal lands strange, but no more dangerous than most places, save the tendency for three eyed tigers to punch holes in reality as they pounce from some other far off place. Rivaruo describes the air as ‘thin’, and that strange creatures lurk just beyond the walls of reality, poking and probing. It is Novenary who discovers one of the strangest properties of this place, he can open a portal here, and have the other side connect far away, indeed to judge by the bewildered ash skinned humans staring back at him quite far away indeed. A few nights of studying the stars confirms his suspicions, he can open small portals between here and locations both to the far north, the far south, and far to the west.>>6332345>Kingdom of OrdalanKhurnaire officially seems to have little interest in the ongoing activities of the Red Baron, the issue almost entirely lay within the Anelk who have made their homes there, who by nature of their shared crimes and shared past are an insular group, mistrustful of strangers. Of course as the Baron shoves his way into their lives, and builds his home there, such things do slowly fade. Here he learns much of the Zas, and indeed finds himself drawn to the faith of the river god, a fact compounded by the growing love he has come to feel for the anelk woman appointed as his steward and minder, a woman his own age with a prominent scar that she hints comes from a songbow arrow long ago. Thaumicite is a pinkish crystal, found as great spires ripping up out of the earth. Gathering it is a simple enough thing, and there is no denying its grand power. A ritual of cleaning flame is devised, empowered by the crystals. A newborn babe is lowered into flames that cannot touch flesh, but instead seek out dark magic, scorching it away. There is a gasp as something shadowy is glimpsed fleeing the child, only for the flames to snap out and devour it. Is this the end of the Nixen Curse?
>>6332484>OrcmanieGlass is a fine and useful substance, a symbol of luxury, culture, and wealth, so it is no surprise that rather than import it at great expense from far off lands, risking all manner of expensive goods shattered on the road (Loluna and Urotti crystal is quite notorious for its high shatter rate), the orcmen instead opt to expand their own forge districts with great glass kilns and glassblowers and shapers and other craftsmen to manage the need. That rumors abound that geysers of Sparkicite can be refined in labs into useful materials is of course just icing on the cake to having a local supply of lab equipment.Noxious, deadly, and highly flammable, Elf Tears are nonetheless a deadly tool in the right hands, it takes only a little work to redesign them for use in the Dragon Flamethrowers where they produce more energetic and long ranged blasts of fire than Dragon Shit, though lacking the horrific flaming tar output of the original design. A clever bellows system is designed that allows for controlled sprays of horrific fire across the battlefield. It starts simply enough. Letters delivered by night, asking about family, and relatives, and conditions in the withdrawn country. Then bit by bit the truth is teased out, that Lucius has styled himself a god, that loyalty purges have run rampant through the nobility in the city, with many fleeing to the countryside, though scattered and under careful watch for dissent. The inner workings of the city itself are a mystery, with many a dark rumor spilling out of debauchery and madness taking hold. Stories begin to flow of men with eyes of red crystal, Lucius’s personal soldiers and death squad. It is a grim state Adenai finds itself in, and one without much hope.>>6332542>Justinian the PiousOf Krawl Missionaries...(This is a matter for RP between you and the Krawl).Another grand lantern rises up, a powerful store of magical might that the people of Barza can call upon in their hour of need. More mundanely, but perhaps more reassuring because of it, so too do more Kennels spring up, placing the loyal hounds in more hands across the nation.>>6332672>Turquoise TurbansThe great rail network expands ever outward, consuming vast quantities of coal all the way, but linking together nearly half the continent. Indeed with rails connecting almost from the new port at An-ioch to Zhelezo some wonder why bother with the port at all? Of course the vast network consumes equally vast amounts of coal and charcoal, with entire mines and logging camps pouring into the rails, so perhaps having an alternate route is just prudent. Somewhat problematically the river port’s route to the sea is blocked by the remnants of the red ant wall, still standing in spite of its parent’s disappearance.
>>6332667>The Divine Republic of GuliseareSparkicite is almost an immediately divisive substance. It is poison to the Blessed and Consecrated, though only in the same way that the Venks are, for the gritty black substance draws in and nullifies magic which it touches, and any amount of flame sets off a conflagration that hurls black smoke and power about that does the same. A battlefield choked in the material would leave the mightiest of the Aripan crippled for weeks as the poison leaves their body. Despite all of this, there can be no denying the tremendous power it represents. A simple refining process transforms it into an amber liquid that burns hot but steadily, and swiftly work collects on a device that converts this fuel into motion, a thing of steel that harnesses bursts of fire to pound pistons and twist gears. It all seems poisoned on the verge of something astounding when the lab is ransacked, the plans and prototypes stolen, and even those working on it vanished. The perpetrator's only calling card is the symbol of a flame drawn on the wall.>>6332712>Krovia By cover of night ships pick up the Igolka army, sailing for Grib to free it from the tyranny of the elves. They find the elven fleet understaffed and easy pickings, with the elves abandoning ship as sharks descend upon the vessels and scuttle them, making their way to shore. The ruins of grib itself are a grim sight, with feral molluscoids stalking the streets that must be cut down, townsfolk to rescue, and chaos to dampen. The trail of the elves leads inland though, toward a great crystal spire that has ripped its way from the earth during the calamity. Just as the sharkmen approach it though there is a great flash, turning night to day, then day to brilliance. The crystal spire has vanished, leaving in its wake a strange and twisted landscape of violent hues filled with odd echos and strange afterimages. Here mushrooms walk and three eyed tigers claw windows in the air and leap through them. Here the pulse is strange and intense. To the north, alongside Krawl colonizers, the Krovian settlers find a similar experience in the etherlands to the north, with strange phenomenon and odd pulse present. Shaman denied the chance to study the Thaumicite of Grib instead turn their attention to here, finding they can dangle lures of pulse energy to call forth strange monsters and odd creatures from the odd echoes of this place.
>>6332796>Vizari ArchmageThis brilliant new crystal, flowing with such rich mana that it makes grand magic trivial, is a potent thing. A daring plan is enacted as a result, to bridge the gap between the distant colony and the homeland and bring the two together. Without the power of Thaumicite it would be impossible, a disaster waiting to happen. Even with that, it requires a string of pylons across the ocean bound to whatever spit of rock or land can be found. Nonetheless, two great stone arches rise, inlaid with Thaumicite, and a magical portal roars to life, connecting the two places. This is only the beginning of the infinite possibilities offered by the potent magical material.---- End Turn 40 ----

Elemental properties of differing types now together, the combined forms open their now single maw into a perfect circle, and out comes a long-range cylinder of starship superlasers. They instantly vaporize anything they touch, and as all three elemental properties of the krawl combine, the attack itself takes on the dark-ethereal property of Maja and her attacks in kind. Units may build and unbuild these superlasers at vantages as needed and as capable.>Tax: fungiSame spot, or wherever else possible.
>Action 1: Any Old Iron?A new Iron mine is struck at Cadon into the red rocky ground around the city, to bring up more Iron for national use.>Action 2: Orlene ForgeNew forges are opened at Orlene, so that that the town might contribute to the provision of arms and armament to the active soldiery. >Espionage: A withered branch, a flowering twigPatrocliot Gerevette assesses the reports and correspondence, the grim trickle of news from Adenai that does not seem to cease now that it has been unleashed toward him. A darkness, a death squad, a madness and eyes of red crystal. His eyes twitch involuntarily to the tomes of his personal library, notes upon the fall of Urong and the scourge of the forsaken dawn, and of other fallen cities that litter Pavillion's histories. Just what manner of forces has Lucius aligned with, might he be using - or might be using him?Lucius must be stopped. The sooner the better, no matter the cost. That certainty makes this simple. Patrocliot goes before the King in the Orcmanie, to tell of what he has heard, to speak of what must be done. He bows, and lowers his head in allegiance to the cause. He must go himself, of course; and the Orcman king understands this. Grenlug IV has his own role to play hereon. Patrocliot's last words before he leaves are to his son, Severiot. Many lifetimes of the fullmen have they lived, yet this might be the last time either might see the other living. Severiot is told of the network of contacts, and passed parchments and certificates, an ornate ring of family heraldry. Whatever happens next, the Rooin townhouse is his here on.And so it is to the border near Cadon that Patrocliot travels, reliant upon an old army contact to see him safely across; to usher him into the heart of the encampment of the Adenic army upon the border. There he will address the assembled commanders and attempt to convince them through all his will and prowess that there can be no further delay in the face of calamity, that they must pledge their men to his cause that will lead to rebellion and civil war, that Lucius must fall. And then he shall see the results of their choice. Either his remaining life left will be measurable in moments, or the Adenic sigil of the camp will lower, with the emblem of house Gerevette to be raised in place.
>>6335828>Military Action:Plunder-Bats fly out to Adenai once more. First they deliver to the network of contacts, passing news and instruction. It is the next postal-flight upon which announcement and proclamation is carried for open delivery across the land: Lucius is denounced as a Traitor of Adenai and Usuper of the Branches, denounced as a conspirer with the debased and the forces of the malign. The Lord Gerevette is proclaimed upon parchment as true Lord of the City and head of the Adenai, and 'True Adenai' across the land are encouraged to reject the authority of the usurper's forces, and rise for the Lord Gerevette and his allies from the Orcmanie. The Spears of the Ashen dawn will be recalled to join the assembling host, for they are servants of a Goddess of Humility and Death; and one so arrogant to proclaim his own divinity is surely in need of the Goddess' final judgement. In the harbours of Orlene, a great assembly has been made including most of the northern fleet. This will sail fourth to destroy all elements of Lucius' fleet that takes to the sea, and begin a naval blockade of the city.>War Plan: OptimistIf Patrocliot prevails in winning the army exiled to the border to his cause, then the task to accomplish is seen as a simpler one. The countryside of Adenai will be secured and occupied by armies on a steady southward march keeping up reinforcement and contact disciplines, and at least three armies will then lay siege to the walls of the city. In our wildest hopes, there too the people might rise up, and perhaps some sympathiser might open up a postern gate? Though this is unlikely, it is more likely the Brise-seiges shall be needed, and we shall make preparation to use their devices against Adenic walls. >War Plan: PessimistIf Patrocliot was unable to win the army to his cause, then avenging his fate with their removal becomes the first objective of the campaign. Whilst the Orcman army of Rooin will invade to secure and occupy the land north-east above the river, the remaining three divisions will converge upon the Adenic force in attempt to destroy or capture it, and then - if remaining strong enough - will themselves march south together to secure Adenaic territory and deny Lucius his hinterlands.

>>6333395>Action 1: RationalizationWhy have the Great Khurnaire resurged from quiescence? Why had the Great Khurnaire taken to writing its own fate? Why does the Great Khurnaire exists? It was the argument of the Stranger, to take upon the immaterial what it has taken from all. For the spirits have tricked us all, and so it is right to trick them too. What use would giving my heart be it not for this?Is it really a trick? I don't think so. Look upon the cooperation behind the Woven Spirit, and against the monster of the Cursed Lands, and see that it was always there all along. That it was merely a property of the originators itself, rather than the various targets it manifested against. It's very clear for me. So, I shall come to them, mine priests and sages, and whisper to them my true and righteous cause, and they shall listen. These truths are already always their truths. I just need to remind them, let them hear their thoughts speak truly. It is simply.. the foresight of a parent. Know the land, till the soil, and sow the seeds. Conquest unending, for life has no equal. When all is said and done, my voice will be tired, but the temples, and all of the Khurnaire itself, they shall understand. They shall, naturally, serve willingly, for the Great Khurnaire's cause is the most righteous of all.>Military Action: Reorganization.Just a formalization over how significant our priest-sages are to our military realities. The Priest-Sages of Marlene, the Zas, Mannu, and Luxor as foragers and scouts, healers and protectors, skirmishers and raiders, and vanguards and spearheads, and mine contribution to weave it all together and communication relays with the Lunar Tongue and my boars. Better times. With the elves on the thauma, placing this army on top of the Night temple complex should hopefully protect it from whatever mishap brought the elves here in the first place.
>>6336837A Long Time Ago: https://youtu.be/_6RZVhzFDnI>Action 2: EvernightWith that pontificating out of the way, yet again, another flavor of pontification, to Night. I didn't guess that she would fall so quickly, but I should have expected it, really. She shall be.. an heir? A regent? She shall be there when he is gone. Hm. A knight, to stand vigil as He rests. The Mirror Lord cannot last forever. He can't stand there at all times without somebody besides him. Already, he has forgotten, and if none aids him in his absence, then he shall be no more. In time, perhaps the Night can explore all that it thinks of delight, but this time, this selfish one asks that she will simply be the knight to bring about a neverending night. To become such, it would require tremendous power. The present choices to empower her, there's two. As far as I can see. To take on the magic trapped in crystal, or to take on the magic flowing in blood. Hopefully the first is accessible.>Minor Action: Erm.The merchants are.. sending a colonial expedition from that officially unnamed isle of ours south of An'naud? Yes, they can use the Naar'ur docking facilities, none of our forces even use it. But why? What, they haven't, oh, is it some sort of, trying to thin out the discovered applications of spark sand and find some useful ones through some crash iterations in the expedition? Nevermind, just, make it so. Find some enterprising artisans using the damned things and put them on board the ships with the things safely stowed. I don't think they have developed enough to mundanely go there and back. Maybe, this'll rig the odds for them..What am I not seeing?
>>6333404Report on Lesser Activities to Cyra, Noreusper of Guliseare, executioner of Thessa, bane of Kaenum, unifier of the Aripan, Ruler of all the hallowed mountains, Aelelox's chosen prophet, most blessed and holy Aripan to fly upon the skies and walk upon the earth. The contemptible, abominable, loathsome, heinous, wretched, despicable, foul Kaenumites have struck our scholars and taken those whom have come to understand the strange material that has manifested in our mountains with them, along with their work. How such an attack was even able to be coordinated despite our thorough defense both spiritually and physically is a shock, and the Inquzonie is at work trying to discern both how something like this could slip through their cracks and at finding and eliminating these heretics. They left a symbol upon the wall of a flame, a clear tie to their twisted faith. They surely will be rounded up soon...Although a small number of false positives due to the heretical lessers managing to convince some to abandon the true practices of our faith have already been reported. Something we will have to deal with later once these more pressing matters are dealt with. Your faithful servant, Kallixeina.>Action One. Extraction of this new material. While the research was close to a major breakthrough, the fact this material has promise and the effects it has upon the blessed and, even more important, the Consecrated, has lead many to be concerned over it. As such, a simple plan was devised to extract the material under the utmost security and ship it to a highly secretive location that only a select few would know. It was a surprisingly unanimous decision, and even Ourania was a major proponent of this solution, temporary as it may be. Still, it is better than leaving the material unguarded and unmined when the Kaenumites can collect it.>Action Two. Lead to a spark...Commit to understanding. Your world, your self, and your fellows.Commit to improving yourself, your world, and your fellows.Commit to kindness and mercy, stay your blade unless absolutely nessessary.Commit to creativity, to the arts and sciences. But most of all, commit to passing on the torch.
>>6333391>Action 1: Collect the MoʻoThe Habitun discovered a new species of large lizards, capable of turning the heavens to their will.Manpower is limited, so we will send experienced sloth wranglers to tame the critters, whilst the Habitun research how to best turn their abilities to our needs.>Action 2: Brasswalker ArmsA crucial piece that due to constant competition on capability and specifications made it last.Important as they are, their ability to lift and strike was too... mundane. Enough to taint the otherwise fantastic design ethos behind the titan.Extension was the most straightforward upgrade. When needed, it would allow the Brasswalker to effectively enter a four-limbed gait, extending its movement range, speed, and stability. Next were the Juhrs, with skelle-based manipulation, allowing them to extend through its digits to rapidly devour through structures it pushes against, causing them to seemingly crumble to the touch.Alongside the worms, the Moʻo would be integrated, allowing lightning to launch from a finger, a blinding mist from a palm.>War: Send two armies to the eastern mountains to suppress any hostile incursions alongside the Habitun>Intrigue: Hunt the barza missionariesAnd introduce them to course after course after course of prime world-renowned dwarvish cuisine. If even the Venks cannot last through it, those skinny humies will surely succumb to food comas, after which we can peacefully drop them at their mission, pending a ship back to their homeland.
There is much hope among the nobility in regard to the Thaumicite. To finally be rid of our long carried weakness, perhaps even seeing men in war once more. The greatness of the Nixen of old is soon upon us, and a world of war may soon be upon us, a world we shall rule.>Action 1: The Pyreborn Ritual. Utilizing Thaumicite, Copper and Pyronix flames, the curse shall be burnt away, maybe a blessing will take its place. With the seeming success in drawing out and purging the curse, the church of Schwaerz spares no expense in funding the development of a proper ritual for it. The Pyronixen are employed in full for this task, these Nixen who struggle to have children of their own now get to act as midwives for a new generation, free of weakness. However, in addition to the Thaumicite used for the ritual, there is also great quantities of copper. The ritual is thus carried out, a Pyronix carries a young Nix into the green coppered flames, making precise use of pyromancy to ensure the flesh is left unscathed while the darkness is burned away. Then they will call for Schwaerz to empower the Nix with the mythic might of old.>Action 2: Expand the Iron Mine at the Pyronix sanctuary. It seems we have some gaps in our deployment of chainmail to the troops, an expansion of the iron mining is in order, to ensure a full supply, especially in the events to come.>Minor Action: Inspire the Anelk exiles, tell them they too can fly, if they work with him.Baron Gustav of house Redwing, takes to teaching his minder a bit of Songflight, to show that the Arrowsong is not to be feared, but what will let the Anelks soar. He will also change rhetoric in regard to the Anelk exiles, that he wishes for greatness for his people, to soar like he, with flight surpassing even the Aripan of Guliseare. He wants to redeem the pirates, to have them fly alongside him. To shatter the fetters the Aripan put upon their spirit.>Military Movement: All three armies march for the Krovian-held former Vizari territories. That old war is being resumed. With a report from down south and the movement of the Vermillion Guard, soon the other two armies of Sturnes and Emberglen march to join them, to march upon the former Vizari lands held by Krovia. It seems the Ordalan armies have been itching for a fight, and now they got one. It is uncomfortable to fight alongside Khurnaire and in a war for a distant Habitun, but the world is becoming turbulent, we shall not stand idle.

>>6336996>Many would make claims of honor and integrity. But as all immaterial morals, the proving is done through blood.- Excerpt from tyrnly sermon from the Cognita CathedralAction 1: The Mo'o>Research into symbiosis was limited due to Skrit expertise on the subject.>However, Skrit city of Alpha contained sufficient fragments on the topic to repurpose.>Connection to Brasswalker is arguably easier, due to limited background 'noise' involved compared to Alf subjects. Simple stimulus can be trivially replicated.>Notes have been compiled on what stimulus triggers what weather condition. Minute changes can adjust scale, range, and intensity.>Proper method to feed and entertain the lizards will also be included, as prior research suggests subjects without any form of activity can die or vegetate.- Grimhild Hitab,Excerpt from afterword on "Mo'o Limbs Less Problems: The Ouroboros Coil" thesis regarding symbiosis of various creatures with the BrasswalkerAction 2: Temporal Drive for the Brasswalker>The capability of time-reversion, scholar Stige Sukon's findings on portal mana expenditure[1] provided insights into similar phenomena.>The smaller the hole, the lower the mana expenditure. As well, keeping it open longer costs more mana.>However, where time-reversion differs from time-sidestepping comes in the additional factor of the object being moved. Size and mana-concentration can add exponentially to the mana costs, so much so that no experiment for a time-reversion longer than 10 minutes has been approved, due to the exhorbitant costs involved.>With Thaumicite, such limitations are a thing of the past. The challenge then becomes how to convince the various snakes embedded that they were all one with not only each other, but the Brasswalker itself. Therein come the twin concepts of Phantom Limbs and Telepathically Bonded Consciousness...1. >>6334086>KroviaThe great island turtles, no doubt some ramification of the wizard’s chaotic magic, are already massive creatures, the target of great hunts that feed hundreds and fill the temples with fountains of blood. But Drevino has hatched a wicked plan that calls for an even larger beast, so an infant island turtle is captured and brought to the Champion’s Glade, where under the magic of that place it grows larger and larger. Fleets of fishing boats dedicate their efforts to feeding the creature as it matures, steadily growing larger and larger until it is a vast thing, able to trample cities were it so inclined, and not more interested in feeding its colossal maw with as much fish as could be brought to it. Training such a beast for war would be a massive endeavor (though perhaps worthwhile), but guiding it around the shores to the Etherlands is a straightforward thing, and so tame it is that it never knows fear when the great iron spike is set up over its skull and the makeshift conduits are put into place that will channel its lifeblood. The great sacrifice is ready.>>6334338>Vone II, King of the VenksA great mining operation begins, carving out great quarries around the Pillars, collecting the crystals in shifts and shipping them in great quantities to the Avesten markets. The mining camps quickly develop quite the reputation for strapping young venks, a reputation owed to more than just the physical labor, for the workers there are noticeably larger than their fellows from other quarries and mines. The crystal spires seem to go down endlessly, actually growing steadily in width as the quarry is widened around them, in the end there is a bit more of the material excavated than originally expected, much of the extra finds itself being shaped into jewelry and gemstones. At the markets of Avesten the crystal is separated into lots, and sold to the highest bidder. (Detailed at the end, subject to your final approval, let me know if you want to adjust anything)>>6334577>KrawlThe spiteful malice of the elves cannot be underestimated, or allowed to go unpunished. Fortunately the nature of their crime has left the fabric of reality weakened here, allowing for Novenary’s gifts to shine. And with the aid of Rivaro and a legion of pureforms ready to be twisted into whatever form he needs, a grand portal takes shape. When it completes the Krovians stand ready to unleash a great tide of cursed blood through it, then follow with their own enraged army. While the Krawl armies themselves are too far to join, it is a simple matter for Novenary to collect the High Krawl themselves, who will accompany the Krovian army in their mission to butcher the insolent elves and reclaim their prize. The molluscoid threat off the coast reaches a critical level as a great swarm bursts from the sea and rushes into the Hive named Hive. The defenseless city is overwhelmed rapidly as molluscoids devour the local Krawl and infest the city.
>>6335828>OrcmanieThe business of equipping an army is an old rhythm for the Orcmanie at this point, but the work still must be done. Iron mines are expanded and forges put to work. Though Orlene will likely never have the same might as the other armies of Orcmanie, there are only so many Chimera and Wyverns in the world after all, they will still be a sturdy army, and should the need come supplies could be shifted from the north is the situation in the south were to ever grow dire...and dire always seems a possibility with Khurnaire.Lord Gerevette begins his impassioned speech to those present at the northern camp, capitalizing on a last minute discovery that those present are already considered half traitors to the nation, shoved out to the fringes for dissent, real or imaginary. Unfortunately halfway through his speed a band of assassins, men with eyes of ruby, attack, throwing the camp into chaos made worse as the forces of Cadon march in. The northern Adenic forces are in disarray, with Gerevette surviving the chaos, but left managing a host of jockeying elven nobles in exile all of whom are arguing endless on why they should lead the rebellion army. The Orcman armies meanwhile march south, setting up camp around the capital city. Few look forward to the grueling fight that will be pushing into Adenai proper, past the many walls of the city and their cult-like zeal if the screaming ruby eyed men are any indication. Perhaps the Sparkicite deposit that nominally lay under Orcman control could be of use here.>>6336319>Turquoise TurbansA festive mood has settled over the Turban Territories. Coin and drink flow freely and parades fill the streets singing the glories of Turban Mercenaries. Every corner sports a great tapestry of a mighty deed, the driving of the Lunites into the sea, the crushing of the ants, the destruction of the Domo of the long past. The finest of course get places of honor in the new grand Museum, where stuffed ants and tasteful recreations of the lunite invaders are placed with placards explaining the horrors that brave Turbans saved the world from. A number of replica Lunite relics are produced for display as well, any remaining plunder from than war having vanished into the black markets long ago.The remaining Red Wall is a living, feral thing, but whatever intelligence it contained seems to have broken with the disaster that took the Skrit from the world. The pheromone studies of the ants are put to good use, creating incense burners that allow a crude level of control over the beasts, allowing operators with long poles to shape the Skrit wall as needed, controlling the flow of water and the passage of ships.
>>6336322>The Tower ArchmageExplorers set out through the archipelago, looking for treasure, natives, or just fertile ground. To the north another island, lush with thick jungle awaits, old stone ruins dotting its shore, with columns of smoke rising in the distance. To its west long vines hang from a floating island, held aloft by some mysterious magic. To the south of their home in this new world are chains of fiery islands, lava spewing into the air, with great obsidian humanoids, oddly familiar in shape, walking amongst them. Circling the island toward the south some farmland can spotted on the southern tip of the island, though those who work it are roped together in the manner of slaves, an ominous fortress is built into the mountains overlooking the farms. The pinning and management of the Raptors is no small task, for the birds are vicious creatures, and cunningly intelligent as well. Vizari raptor ranchers quickly learn to don heavy hoods and move quickly when entering the coops of the creatures, for they are fond of lurking near doors and ambushing those who enter. Nonetheless numerous ranches of the beasts do get established, providing a useful supply of sizable eggs, feather and meat, though getting them to do anything other than turn on their captors in the heat of battle will require more training. With all the recent sightings of others in the area, to say nothing of the pirate attacks in the past, a proper alchemy lab is called for in the area, providing useful potions, magical supplies, and allowing for on site research of the ingredients of the distant new world. >>6336326>Empire of LolunaIt takes multiple catastrophic explosions, one of which the empress herself had to intervene in, but the expansion of the Explodium Fields otherwise completes without issue, assuming a steady supply of treated leather arrives at all times without interruption. Once on site the leather is formed into balloons of explodium that are then fed into the Catastropheum refinery where mysterious arcane processes, clockwork thingies, and strange dancing rituals somehow turn it into a liquid. A liquid that must be kept in tightly bound casks that groan alarmingly at all times and should definitely never be anywhere near fire, except when being tossed into the furnace of the Stomper.
>>6336734>Justinian the PiousIt is perhaps a one-sided trade, though to the Venks the crystals are little more than curiosities, while the hounds are treasured friends and family within the generation. Perhaps the most concerning piece of this arrangement is the manner of transport, carrying the hounds across the mountains to be ferried by rocs, all while Lolunan scientists stare longingly at the crystals being unloaded from Vencia. The rush of power is nearly intoxicating, with just one crystal allowing one man to do what once required three or even four of his fellows. But the great rituals being unleashed still yet require two dozen spellcasters and a great pyre of crystals to empower them. Geomantic dousing is unleashed in vast waves, sending minor tremors across the land. There, deep within the earth, lay more of the crystal, vast amounts, tangled and twisted together like a great twisted mass of vines. Much of it is far beyond their reach, but here and there a tendril reaches high enough that it can be forced up to the surface, a knife of crystal thaumicite bursting to the surface. The root of light in the darkest of places begins ironically with a dark, cramped box. The box is hurled overboard from a Lolunian fishing boat where it sinks down, until a Vodnik grabs onto it with a hook and carries it along, underwater, through a cave, then finally up into the air before the box is frantically opened. Inside is a human, wet, ragged and hungry, but alive. A barzan missionary, with a holy book clutched close to his body. He will not leave this cave, which can only be entered via a series of dangerous twists and turns underwater, but Vodnik will come to him, and then elves too. Some young enough for curiosity, others old enough for cynicism. “We cannot see the sun, but it continues to shine.” They say, and it becomes a pass phrase between them, as they slowly spread across Habitun in secret.>>6336837>Lord Mana of KhurnaireShe travels and preaches and unifies. One Khurnaire, one purpose, many gods and faiths and people united toward one goal. Does she believe it herself? Is it a silver tongue or true sincerity that ties her people together? Only she knows.Evernight. The woven spirit tastes the word, letting it linger on the tongue. Yes. This is her purpose, to grant rest to Luxor, who has stood guard over the world for ages untold. She is the guardian of the night, and he of the day, but when there is only night, and never day, he will have rest at last, and she will bear the burden, for ten thousand years if she must, until he is ready to bear it again.Someone...someone will come to relieve her, yes?
>>6336857>The Divine Republic of GuliseareExtraction of the Sparkicite is a straightforward enough task, provided one has sufficient buckets, shovels and carts, though storage is deeply concerning. A warehouse of the material could explode with enough force to trigger rockslides across the mountain range and leave a crater visible as far as Barza. Indeed the risk is high enough that wooden tools are commissioned for the task and metal is strictly forbidden on the site, for fear of it striking stone and causing a spark. In a spot of good news though the extraction seems to have stirred the flow from the depths to move more quickly, allowing a bit more of the material to be available than before. In other places torches burn bright, crackling merrily. Indeed there seems to be more of them than before, gathering in ever greater numbers, growing brighter and brighter by the day, a light that cannot be extinguished. >>6336996>UrottiThe Mo’o Lizard is a curious breed, being quite large and placid by nature. It possesses a sizable neck frill that when fully extended seems to manipulate the weather itself. Herds of the creatures will gather together, frills expanded and facing the sky, causing clouds to gather together overhead, darken, and then begin to pour rain. The lizards gulp down water until their bodies swell in size, then will carry it, sometimes miles to another location before spewing it out and creating muddy swamps within which to lay their eggs. The great brasswalker arms are powerful constructions, providing vital locations for a myriad of weapons, to say nothing of the additional mobility they provide. Attempts to integrate Juhr worms into the design largely resulted in crushing the creatures however, though deployment of Juhr bombs worked fairly well.Sadly the only Barzan missionaries caught in the snare are those in the Urotti lands.
>>6337060>OrdalanTo cleanse the curse from one is a simple thing. Sacred fire, holy prayer, the empowerment of Thaumicite, and blessed Copper. The curse is cast into sharp relief against the light of the fire. then reduced to ash, the fires growing brighter. But the nature of the curse, creeping through bloodlines and resting in the heart of every man, woman and child, means that it will creep back, again and again until it is purged entirely. But now, able to cast the monstrous force into the light, a chase begins, priests hounding the dark force from house to house, rituals of purification setting it running further and further, from the Vermillion Grave to Emberglen to Sturnes. The curse grows more stubborn as they go, snarling and fighting against the holy flames, growing darker and somehow thicker. It is in the oldest families of Ordalan, the ancient noble lines that the curse makes its final stand, growing so vicious and foul that even the women of the family can scarcely stand as they and their families are gathered into the great circle of fire. Paths of copper studded with thaumicite surround them, crackling with lightning and swirling with holy flames. It is many things, a twisted beast of many heads, a rampaging snake, an army of demons. Was there battle there in that holy spell circle, did armies of darkness break on the shield of Ordalan? What is very definitely real though is the charred black skeleton in tattered robes bearing the symbol of Telden. One hand clutches the broken fragments of a metallic arcane device, the other outstretched in death toward queen Katrina herself. The iron mine was expanded without incident.>HabitunThe incorporation of Mo’o and Ourobos into the Brasswalker is no small task, not least of which because of the grand scale of what is being attempted. In the end it is the humble torrent toadstool that creates the solution. Some combination of fungus, Skritari aid, and grafted body parts fills various hidden compartments, and with the aid of the Skritari and Thaumicite each can be manipulated, empowered, and used to their full effect. Antenna can extend, calling up wild storm clouds, the entire machine can leap backward in time, or have individual limbs do. Even missed shots of cannon fire can be rewound then fired again. The Brasswalker has truly become something more than its parts, a hybrid of machine and life that commands the time and the elements itself, so long as its Thaumicite reserves remain charged.
> The Avesten AuctionThe Avesten Auction house is a wild scene the night of the auction. Mysterious personages from across the land are present, a number of strange and rare items are auctioned off. The bids are read off in order, revealing a dazzling and sometimes terrifying array of resources available. The construction of exotic temples, rare beasts, majestic rocs, cursed nachetar ooze, precious metals,an entire city, and of course Sparkicite aplenty are all offered up as prizes to entice the Venks to purchase their rare and magical resource. In the end the Venks make the following choices (Subject to final Royal Approval).> Lot 1: Custodian Rocs, including infrastructure for them (2 actions)> SOLD! To Loluna! The Custodian Rocs of Loluna, well known for their dramatic journey to the moon itself, already enamour the hearts of the Vencian people. Competing with this bid was the wild (but perhaps possible) claim of the Khurnaire to construct an ‘ethereal rift’ between two locations and an equal lot of Sparkicite, which was only turned down due to concerns of it being destabilized by Vencian presence. The great birds will allow the Vencian people (and their military forces) to travel the world with ease, eschewing roads for the safety of the skies.---> Lot 2: One lot of Sparkicite, to be delivered through the Urotti highway and exchanged in the northern market. One promise of efforts unrestrained in the protection of the southern jungle lands from Krawl and Haiman (commonly known as Krovian) aggression for the duration of no less than two tyrns.> SOLD! To the Habitun Cult!Competing with this bid was an offer to construct a ‘Spiritually-Resonant’ temple, an intriguing offer, but one that raised concerns of the influence of external gods and a sizable collection of common metals that, while undoubtedly valuable, lacked the exotic flare of the explosive Sparkicite.
> Lot 3: The transplantation of a Gruumtusk boar herd from its native habitat of the Zas's plains into a location of the Association's choosing. > SOLD! To the Khurnaire Academy Archive!A fascinating set of offers to be sure, including an example of the delicious Aeonic Honeycomb as well as 1 unit of Nachetar Oil. Vencian officials were seen exclaiming “They’d need to pay us to take the cursed ooze! Though the honey is quite good!”. The great shaggy beasts of the Gruumtusk Boar however proves quite popular, beating out the Sparkicite offer from the Habitun Cult.---> Lot 4: One lot of Sparkicite, to be delivered through the Urotti highway and exchanged in the northern market. One promise of efforts unrestrained in the protection of the southern jungle lands from Krawl and Haiman (commonly known as Krovian) aggression for the duration of no less than two tyrns.> SOLD! To the Habitun Cult!Perhaps the most fascinating of the lots, this one pitched a colony of “Rapacious Mollusks” against an entire Skrit Colony located under Vencia. As lurid tales of the mollusks circled the room it quickly became apparent that the Venks had little interest in having the horrific predators anywhere near them except perhaps on a dissection table. The Skrit colony was certainly of higher interest, though in the end the offer was tabled for being too large of an undertaking for auction officials to handle.
> The Night of BloodNight, the woven spirit of the Khurnaire, sits atop the Thaumicite Spire, the great spire pulsing and glowing as parts of it fracture and splinter, then swirl inward and embed themselves into her flesh. Much of the spire has vanished already, consolidated and woven into the flesh of Night, forming into bands and patterns of ruby red on her dark blue skin. Light pulses and shifts within and the Habitun elves watch uncertainly. What the spirit is becoming is not quite a god, but it is becoming increasingly clear that the distance between her and mortals is growing considerably. Not far from the spire is a circle forming in the air, a distortion. The Morrigan and Sibling Birger watch it keenly, knowing what it is, that on the other side either Krawl, Krovian, or likely both await. When it finally shudders and rips open, air becomes a view of a distant ocean, a wooden ramp, and...is that a turtle the size of a city? The creature roars in pain, then blood, a torrent of it rushes forth, crashes into the Habitun heroes, the assembled troops, the remnants of the crystal spire. The spire crumbles, Night is caught in the blood. Red light fills the air, infects the mind, filling it with the glory of battle, the song of rage and fury, the sweet beauty of the violent struggle for life and dominance. Night moves in soundless fury. She is the defender, the protector, the counterpart of Luxor who defends the day, and she defends the night. She is armor in ruby red and midnight blue and here before her are monsters, imposters, fiends who have brought war and death to her lands and she falls upon them in a terrible fury. A dozen elves die in the first pass, a ribbon of night splitting them in twain, and a dozen more might have followed were it not for The Morrigan who interposes in the path of the raging spirit. She cackles and laughs even as Night breaks ribs and hurls The Morrigan aside. Blood continues to roar through the portal, madness falling on the elves, fighting each other as often as they attempt to turn their weapons on the spirit, arrows filling her back but hardly slowing her down. It is only when Sibling Birger, standing on the remnants of the spire, turns night to day, filling the air with brilliant light, that the spirit shrieks and flees, leaving the wounded elven army behind. The elven army has scarcely found their footing in the blood slick mud around them, barely have they stopped trying to kill one another, when the great charge of Krovians pours through the portal and crashes into the battle weary elves. Addled by bloodlust brought by the flood, no thought is given to retreat, only to turn and face this new foe head on. The battle rages for a few precious minutes, but it is clear the elves cannot sustain this for long, and as the High Krawl appear through portals in flanking positions Birger can do little but escape with The Morrigan to carry the bad news.
----End Turn 41-----
>>6337357Relief.. It shall come when He is ready to rise once more, remembered what he was and is made whole in remembering, perhaps in a kalpa. Ofcourse, she can slacken in her station, even abandon it if she wants, if the toil is too harsh, but all things have a price, and she'd well to remember that. >Action 1: Teach a SongStill, I need not repeat such truths for much too long. I shouldn't let the world decide what this has to be, even if it would be far more convenient if I need not do this. The Night has taken on a hint of the blood, and left unattended, would lead to less satisfactory conclusions. I shall be there, I shall be present, I'll have a little rest too. I will offer the right and healthy ways to comprehend such inclinations, teach her a method to control, to understand, to structure it in such a way pleasing to Him. Perhaps, she shall do this through chi-shaping, still unexperimented with so far. Perhaps, she shall do this through the fleshweaving, the methods to create her most familiar to herself. Perhaps, she shall do this through the magicks I know, most adjacent it is to what has affected her. Perhaps, she shall do so from another perspective. I am no dictator, I am a caring teacher, simply here to whisper to her my most sagacious wisdom.>Action 2: Gate to NorthA bit brutish, but these ethereal realms does reach north. The Khurnaire is still obliged to fulfill all that it has agreed to. Send away some conscripted peasants to explore the ether until they find one where it is most cold, than have the Night tear open a gate. The Khurnaire will need it to transport the boars, send a party to that sleeping spirit, and maintain access to the Habitun.>Minor Action: Rescue PilgrimsThe recent Rationalization has unfortunately left this on this wayside by a bit. Now, while the sages are burdened with their great work, the lower class has taken to righting this particular wrong themselves, for the good of the Great Khurnaire. Nothing guides them but simple faith, and aidance in wisdom by ones sympathetic but still burdened in fulfillment of Kholan's will. They shall talk amongst all of Khurnaire in their plotting, and they will set to fulfill this righteous task then. I find this likely to be futile, but it must be done. A miracle could happen upon them in Gulliseare, for all I know.Where the Night, and Khurnaire's forces are, I'll wait and see. We're likely to pivot against the Krovian force in fulfillment of the agreement, but it might not be the best way to resolve this.
>>6337432>Actual Action 2: Terran TempleAh, it seems the Habitun was not so waylaid as I thought? That one who only speaks in verses has came again with the brother as agreed to last tyrn. Consultations are to be done with him to create the best environs for his ministry, with the lands above the Heart and a stop on that rail's crossing over the Zas marked for the construction. A later effort to establish minor shrines and chapels across the country is likely necessary for proper propagation, along with the usual theologizing campaigns to reduce the amount of deviation made in these early days..Some quirk of the etherlands, the brother told me, seems like my original plans are less than possible for the moment.
>>6337354>Action 1: Using SparkiciteA curiosity indeed. The gritty black paste oozing from the earth, 'Spark Sand', has drawn our attention and therefore that of the Brise-Seiges, even as they raise engines of war against and make plans to breach or topple the walls of Adenai. It is fortunate indeed that we have been allowed to occupy the Adenai countryside, as the people of the land stand aside from the clash to wait for the eventual victor. From these first experimental uses of Sparkicite, the Brise-seiges develop primitive explosive bombs, with which to make first attempt to breach the Adenai walls. >Action 2: ProspectingThe previous attempt to prospect the southern peninsula for Metals was diverted by the discovery of the 'Elf Tear' gas. Now that fuel is well in use by our war-engines, prospectors set out once more across the nation, hoping to add to our range of metals to use with the discovery of a copper deposit. >Bureau RenseignementThough internally focused, the occupation of Adenai territories requires an expansion of Bureau activities across them - we cannot simply secede the intelligence sphere to Lucius's agents and death-squads. Patrocliot Gerevette passes the details of a few agents from his network who may be worth recruiting, and we also carefully draw from the mass of base humanity that have long laboured beneath the Half-Elves to add to our national efforts in identifying and foiling plots.>WarThe Siege of Adenai continues. The Brise-seiges raise palisades and towers, trebuchets and rams in their efforts to breach the walls and gates of the city, and plan their first experimental use of Sparkicite. If we break the walls enough, the Armies of the Orcmanie are in position to advance, perhaps even to finish our mission; but if the deadlock must continue, whichever of the four Orcman forces is most exhausted will be withdrawn to the Sparkicite deposit to be rested and reinforced away from the front lines, in what is planned as the start of a rotational system between the four forces.Patrocliot continues in his efforts to try and win the uncommitted Adenai army over to his service and the Gerevette family, or at least to keep them squabbling and divided enough that they don't settle upon anyone else.
