You laid on the cold floor, eyes heavy and limbs numb. On your left, the sun had begun to set… Probably the last one you’ll witness. Second by second, life slowly drained from your body. You weren’t a hero or a savior, but you’d like to think you gave more good to the world than evil. With that final thought, you closed your eyes one last time. “O brave soul…”Or not.You stood on a clear floor that reflected you, in an empty space that stretched as far as you could see. The clouds were no longer grey, but fluffy and white in a sea of blue sky. A woman stood, no, an angel…“I beseech you to save my people. I am Lumina, the goddess of my people. What should have been your eternal rest, I have taken your soul in order to save my world.”Her wings fluttered as the golden light around her head glowed. Everything passed by so fast it was difficult to catch up. You didn’ t think of yourself as a hero either. Skills [Wilderness Survival Expert][Melee Weapon Expert][Monster Slayer][Cardio Expert][Medic Expert][Grit Expert]“Why me?”Her beautiful visage withered to a mournful frown. “You have survived the plague upon your world and maintained kindness.”You turned your gaze away from her. “I’m not as kind as you think you are.”“That is where you are wrong, you are a kind man.” Lumina said. “That is why my world needs you.” Her soft hand caressed your cheek, a light began to swell. Soon, a golden light surrounded you and filled you up with gentle warmth. Your eyelids grew heavier and heavier. Soon, your eyes closed, drifting into the darkness. “There’s… Two of them!” “What does this mean?”“Someone get His Majesty!” Voices gathered, quiet and hush, they sprouted in the darkness until you opened your eyes. The room was dim, lit with small torches and floating orbs of light. You were on a marble floor surrounded by men in robes or in other medieval clothes. You massaged your eyes and then looked around again. There was a young girl on the floor, just as dazed as you were but… Cleaner. Her clothes was a high school uniform with no visible torn or grime on her face. She looked just like a person before the outbreak.“Where am I?” The girl’s eyes widened when she realized where she was, and you’re guessing she didn’t get some briefing, otherwise she wouldn’t be frozen in shock. “Brave heroes, you have come at last…” An old man in a grey robe said. “The Kingdom Luminus is grateful for your arrival. Thank you, blessed be us upon the goddess’s heavenly light! Please stand up, let us welcome you.” You got up first and the girl followed.“I don’t understand… What’s going on?”“We will explain everything to you, but this is not the place I’m afraid.” “Not the place? I don’t even know where I am or what’s going on!” The girl said. “Send me back home I don’t want to be a hero or be here!” >"Did Lumina not talk to you?">"You do owe her an explanation when you pulled her from her home without permission.">Write-in

“You do owe her an explanation when you pulled her from her home without permission.”“Yeah what he said I have a right to know!”The robed man nodded reluctantly. The man’s robe reached the floor and past it and the fabrics swayed as he moved. The wooden staff in his hand had a crystal embedded at the tip, appearing more like a spear than some wand. The old wrinkles around the man’s eyes scrunched up.“You have been summoned to save our world, saintess. I thought you were told—”The girl pointed at herself in disbelief. “Me? A saintess? I don’t remember agreeing to this at all!” “Are you sure?”She nodded. “Did you?”“Yeah, a goddess named Lumina asked me, so here I am.” You shrugged. “You didn’t talk to anyone at all?” You observed the girl further. No weapons, no back pack, just a regular school bag that every high schooler carried. The question was, why did she not know and you did?“I did but she didn’t listen and just sent me!” The girl’s eyes began to tear up. Huh… You didn’t expect Lumina to be bad, she didn’t seem like that all. “Wait, Lumina? Not Ishtar?”She shook her head, then dropped to her knees and bawled.“I want to go home! I miss my home! Send me back!”“S—Saintess… I’m sorry but until the Undead King is defeated there is no way back. His very unholy existence is disrupting the flow of the world.”Her cries stopped… Only to grow louder. You did your best to console her, but it took a while for her to get up and follow the old man. For now, you were placed inside a spacious room meant for dignitaries and such. The room had marble floors, decadent curtains, a luxurious bathroom and a huge bed. When was the last time you slept on a bed? You sift through your pack to find a spare grunt roll and jeans, your boots remaining strong. With fresh clothes in your arm you entered the restroom. Surprisingly, the restroom had faucets and indoor plumbing, nothing like what you expected at all. You expected something more medieval, not modern plumbing. You stripped down and entered the showers. As you turned the knob the hot water ran down.“Ha…” You let out a sigh of comfort. You usually wash with wet wipes and in cold streams, always with eyes on your back. The tenseness still remained, but the warm water melted some of your worries. You sank into the bathtubs shoulder deep, closing your eyes as the warmth seeped in. It all felt so unreal. One moment you prepared to die and poof, you’re here. This wasn’t Earth, this was a brand new world. “Whoo…”By the time you finished your bath, the tub was filled with murky water, once the water drained away a cake of filth remained. You sat on a couch as you rummaged through your bags. You had two MREs left, along with survival items such as water purification tablets, matches, and a can opener. Your main weapon leaned on the couch, clean and sturdy from your constant maintenance. “M’lord?”You heard three knocks on the door.“Come in.” The double door opened, revealing two maids and a well dressed man with a grey combover and a muchstache.“M’lord, His Majesty, King Olaius Magna Carta is ready to see you.” The old man said. “And you are?”“Ah, where are my manners?” The old man bowed. “I am Gilles Reyes, it is a pleasure making your acquaintance.”You entered the throneroom but you didn’t see the girl here. Various men and women in decadent clothes stood on the sides while you were at the center facing the king. “Brave hero, first, I and my kingdom are grateful that you have answered the call. I will waste no time, our kingdom. No… All of Urd is in mortal danger as the Undead King has awakened and his army of monsters. We will give whatever assistance you require.”“I’m willing to do it but… I don’t know this world. I need a guide or something. At the very least study the world I’m in.”The king nodded. “Of course, how prudent of you.” So, your adventure was held off for now. You had various tutors and dignitaries to catch you up to speed of the world. Thankfully, you were able to read and write the language, along with speaking it. To them, english was gibberish. Finally, you had a combat teacher. While you did fight the occasional bandits people here were faster and stronger, to the point that you weren’t sure why you were here if they were more powerful than you. “You’re getting better… Almost at a scary rate if I might add, hero.” Your combat instructor said.

Rolled 1 (1d2)1>Her name was Starr Sansa, a Knight Commander2>His name was Bronn, a man without a title but a wicked fighter
Her name was Starr Sansa, a Knight Commander, a big shot from what you could gather, and a Master At Arms in her Knight’s Order. You didn’t know her exact role, but she knew every weapon and wielded them at a terrifying speed and ferocity which she did not spare against you. Her red pony tail swayed as her sword spun with whirlwind fury. You dodge in time, and go for a thrust. “Ha!”Starr ducked and kicked your shin, causing you to drop. Hot pain seared on your head and body, but nothing so agonizing that made you stay down, except for the blade over your throat. You went for a leg sweep, only to have the blade now rest on your throat. “Persistence is key. However, you should know when you are defeated, hero.”She helped you up. “Again, you lasted much longer than before. I suppose that’s to be expected for a hero such as yourself.”“I’m not much of a hero yet.” You dismissed her praise with a forced chuckle.“I see…” Starr said. As the days went by you learned the dark army’s structure, their commanders, methods of operations, and just about anything that you needed to know. There was one thing however, you didn’t see the socalled ‘Saintess’ around and when asked the gossip was she refused to do anything and kept asking to go home. >This wasn't any of your business, you had a world to save>Maybe you can convince her, or at the very least help her accept the situation
>>6359359>>Maybe you can convince her, or at the very least help her accept the situationLook, WE just wanted to sit, mope, and go home when the zombies started crawling out of the woodwork... but we couldn't, and neither can she. Either they can't send her home, or they WON'T send her home, and either way she ought to take the chance to get stronger while she can so she can make her way around the world and find someone willing and able to fix her problem.
>>6359359>>6359361 +1
>>6359359>Maybe you can convince her, or at the very least help her accept the situation
>>6359359>Try to talk to herI’d advocate, maybe rather than to convince her outright, to first listen to her perspective, if there’s someone she left behind, if there’s something for her to return to. Then we can suggest that she makes the most of her time here. Maybe they can’t send her back even if they wanted, then it’s all the more reason to figure out a way herself?
>>6359359>Maybe you can convince her, or at the very least help her accept the situationIt looks like they genuinely can't send her home, and repeatedly asking isn't working, maybe she should change her strategy.
Unanimous vote wins
Maybe you can convince her, or at the very least help her accept the situation. You went past your room and headed to the other end of the hallway. The servants bowed and the officials greeted as you went to the Saintess’s room. As you got closer, the chill sharpened, reminding you of winters in Oklahoma. Several maids and knights stood behind the door, along with the old wizard you met the first day, Haldin the Stargazer. “Oh, hero!” Haldin said. “Have you come to speak to the Saintess?”“I’m not a saintess!” The girl said through the door. “Well I was but who did all of this.”The halls had frost all over the walls and ceiling, a clear ice encased the wooden double door with ice spikes. “Hey, it’s the guy that came here with you.” You knocked on the ice as if that’d help. “Do you mind if we talk?”Surprisingly, the ice did melt. The water flooded the floor but the door opened. The girl peeked from the door.“Just talking right?”“Sure.” Her room was the same as yours, save for her school bag and a blanket mountain she made. “How’re you feeling?”You pulled a chair and sat next to the bed while the girl sat on top, hugging her knees. “I just want to go home… But I know I can’t but how do they expect me to fight?” “You obviously got talent for it, I can’t do that magic stuff.” The girl lifted her head from her knees. “Why are you so unbothered by this?” >"I've got a feeling you and I are not from the same world.">"Because I've accepted this. "I've got a feeling you and I are not from the same world."“What are you talking about?”“Does your world have zombies, as in people who got infected by a virus and they turned into monsters?”The girl’s confused stare drooped to one of pure pity. “You’ve had a tough life, haven't you, hobo-san?”You pinched the bridge of your nose. “That’s not my name…”You tried your best to convince her but that led to further pity and even some aversion to you, in the end you gave up. However, you did learn she was a high school girl in a world where the Patient Zero Incident occurred. The girl’s name was Oozora Ui, a first year high school student who was on her way to her first day of school. No wonder she shut herself off, her life didn’t even start. “Look, I know it sucks but you have no way to go back. Kil— Defeating the Undead King is your only option.”“But I don’t know how to fight!” Oozora stayed still, hugging her knees tighter.“Then start learning.” You got up from the chair. “I’m sorry this happened, I really am. But you need to accept the situation and move forward.”The next day, you set forth on a new quest. The Undead King hid behind his army, then his lieutenants and their commanders. To bring the Undead King from his hiding and ease the pressure on the kingdom, you needed to cut each legs of the beast. First, you needed a place to return, a safehouse like you had back on Earth. The King first offered a room in his castle, with all the amenities a hero should have. However, you’d be traveling far, the trip to return would take longer than the expedition itself. You consulted with Starr who recommended a decent sized room in an inn near the adventurer’s guild decently far from the capital. You could also travel light with bare necessities like you did before finding a safehouse. >Take up residence in the castle>Travel to the adventurer's guild>Keep looking for a better option as you travel

While you weren’t an adventurer, you were informed by Starr that they’d allow you to join their guild. Hero or not, rules applied to everyone. So, your journey began. The king gave you essential supplies along with an allowance. You prepared your departure with Starr at an empty stable far from the main castle where few people visited. “No heroic sendoff?” Starr said. You shrugged. “It sounds nice but I’d be telling the enemy I’m moving. Besides, I have a den-den to communicate if something happens.”You pocketed the intricately carved blue and pink crystal. Starr nodded. “A wise choice. I must say you’re not the kind of hero I expected.” “You expected a shining youth with a bold red cape?”Starr chuckled. You opted for a simple medium armor: A chainmail, above that an armor called lamellar, conical helmet with aventail, and a medium shield. Back on earth, you wore light kevlar and thick layers for optimum defense and mobility. You’ve seen too many people layering themselves to protect against bites that they forgot they needed to run faster than the monsters. You tested the joints of your armor and moved around. “This armor’s lighter than I thought.” “The armor may seem simple, but it was crafted with verangian steel, it’s one of the lightest and toughest materials there is.” Starr said. “Your weapons too.” From your training, you’ve chosen… >A musket axe>A Longsword>A flintlock sword >Write-in [I'll have to approve whether it fits or not however]
>>6360767>A musket axeI'm no weapons expert, is this a gun with an axe head attached? Rather just have a normal musket.
>>6360791It's a real weapon, actually. It's basically a pistol (a REALLY LONG pistol, in picrel's case, most of that is handle/stock) without a traditional stock so you can grip and swing it more easily. More common is a one-handed version.>>6360767>A musket axeI imagine both rifles and axes are weapons we're familiar with.
