The tale of Pavillion is coming to a close. The forces of unmaking, of erasure and annihilation, those whose stories were not told and condemned to oblivion rise once again. Those closest to the problem wage war, chasing revenge instead of preserving the future, each believing they can handle the problem alone. Time will tell.> We are not accepting new players at this time>>6363031>Habitun CultAdamant Runes. The very idea is seen as frankly ridiculous at first. Adamant is quite nearly impossible to effect by any means, magical or physical, even the simple act of carrying it is quite difficult on account of weight. Typical rune work relies on storing magical power within the object itself, a fact that Adamant utterly ignores. Setting aside the difficulty of even carving such runes (requiring a frankly comical in scope supply of fracture blades), the fundamental designs of runework must be completely upended. An adamant rune cannot rely on the magic within it, it must rely entirely on the magic around it, a self assembling spell of tremendous complexity that the adamant rune imprints onto the world. The designs that spring forth call for a number of concessions in the theoretical objects they would create, chief of which is that they must always be in motion, carving paths through the ambient magic of the world. These techniques flow into an ambitious project, one where a Shadow is encased within an adamant frame, etched with a complex design of runes that empower and provide it with a flexible set of shadowy limbs. For many centuries (or as the Barzans call them, years) the elves of the cult have worked to support and provide aid to their brothers and sisters across the span of “Could have beens”. This tyrn a measure of that debt is repaid, for crates of snarling beasts and manuals of hard earned experience wrangling and managing them is delivered through the portal network. The beasts are settled into their new homes in the dark forests of the Habitun, while a cadre of geists is trained on how to manage them, use them, and perhaps most importantly avoid their predation.
>>6363365>Tohrs, Queen of the VenksFeverish work continues across Vencia, for it seems scarce a day goes by that news of some new impending doom arrives. Fortresses rise up, men are drilled into armies, and the college of notables works day and night devises new terrible uses for Sparkicite, the most notable of which some fear will haunt Vencia for centuries hence. These footbombs are much like the grenades that predate them, but possess much shorter fuses, and are designed to be trigged not by a pulled tab of metal, but rather a foot pressing onto a metal plate, filling the unfortunate victim with body ripping metal shrapnel. A rather brave Nachetar volunteer, after being stitched back together, confirmed that the experience was extremely painful. The prospect of a weapon that kills long after its owner has left the battlefield leaves a grim taste in many mouths, and it is not long before some are asking the question of how one manages these weapons after a battle. As though there needed to be any more news of alarm, word arrives that the Red Wall, a living construct built by the Skrit long ago, has stirred to life, though it seems to have shifted and changed, becoming some foul amalgam not of ants but skittering crabs. What few glances can be seen beyond it reveals a hideous new nation of monsters forming, of swarms of skittering mutant crabs.
>>6363488>UrottiThe Adamant Soldier. Their creation is an arduous task, using the most precious of materials, with no room for error. A single mistake ruins the entire process. Adamant plates must be molded and shaped to exacting parameters, powerful acids being used to purge and remove mold materials from delicate joints and interlinked parts that will never be unlinked. Even this pails however to the rune process. The blueprints and plans are exhaustively detailed, and like before even the slightest error can result in utter failure of all that comes before it. The mana collider must be used for this operation, a team of dwarven masters working in shifts with a supercharged fracture blade to delicately carve the incredibly complex runework into the form. By the end of tyrn only ten adamant golems have been created, but each one will likely outlast every nation in Pavillion. Internally powered by combinations of rare materials and a loyal Habitun Cult Shadow it moves with a deadly grace despite its utterly indestructible nature. The exhaustive work and the slow results prompts an expansion of the collider complex, allowing two streams of magic to be channelled, doubling the ability of the collider to produce these technology death machines. The true horror of these creations is the idea of another being finding a way to control them, for nothing can damage them, and almost nothing can stop them.On this tyrn, a debt is repaid to the Habitun Cult, one accrued by years of warfighting, lent resources, and other favors, and the form of that repayment is especially fond to the dwarves of the Urotti, for it involves the calling of their dwarven cousins from other timelines to them to aid in a grand project for the elves. The Deepening. Dwarves, a great legion of them alongside vast numbers of steel machines of remarkable complexity march through the portals of the elves, and in coordination with their cousins begin a grand migration, not of themselves but of entire cities, workshops, buildings and when possible even farms and ranches. Sparkicite is supplied to these visitors in great quantities, and with it their machines spring to life, spewing thick black clouds of smoke and soot as they begin to dig. Buildings are disassembled, relics and homes packed up, people organized on a scale never before seen. Sweeping roads down below the earth are carved with tremendous speed, then into bedrock as vast caverns are carved out. Sparkicite forges roar day and night as metal is worked and shaped and these caverns are reinforced with the finest dwarven steel, carved with runes of protection, then wiped clean of sparkicite dust. Access is highly limited, through narrow pathways and cramped tunnels. As war prepares to erupt in the world above, the elves vanish underground instead, the hard work of their dwarven kin transforming their cities into vast heavily armored bunkers, heavy steel doors waiting to slam shut and lock out the hated outside world forever.
>>6364492>OrcmanieThe Hand-Gonne is a deceptively simple creation. It is by and large simply a small cannon, similar in design to the deadly weapons employed in the last days of the war against the Adenai. Perhaps the most difficult piece of their creation is convincing a soldier to hold the device, for they also resemble the deadly blasting charges employed to topple Adenic walls, and few soldiers have a desire to see themselves smeared against the nearest wall. Nonetheless it takes very few examples of the powerful weapon in action, shattering straw targets by the dozens to convince many to take training. While the accuracy leaves much to be desired, against massed troop formations it is far deadlier than even the work of a wizard, and be wielded by literally anyone who understands how to point it.The brave fleets that head west to Farland are greeted not by the perpetual storm clouds surrounding the region spoken of by Vizari sailors who have made the trip but by fine weather and sunshine. As they approach the westernmost island the grim sight of a terrible ruin comes into view. It once might have been a beautiful city of high towers and grand buildings, but now it lay smashed against the ground, great pillars of rock punching up through the ruined city. High above it is a strange sight, great arcs of lightning and fire surround three figures flying about, hands making the motions of spells, faces contorted in concentration or anger, but the entire scene is almost frozen, over the course of an entire day one of the bolts of lightning seems to crawl forward but a few inches. What has happened here?Avoiding the scene of carnage scouting vessels hurry through the region. To the southwest, in a well defended and fertile valley there are signs of the Vizari, well established, but to the northeast there is another small island, desolate but green, with a few freshwater springs. Here a small dock and settlement is constructed for future work in this land.
>>6364516>Empire of LolunaFor all the hostilities and growing tensions between Loluna and the Habitun Cult, there has remained a steady flow of trade between them, of potions and glassware. But the time has come at last to dissolve it, to the whimpered complaints of many merchants who were making a tidy profit on the exchange.Sparkicite field mortars are a wicked and dangerous weapon, especially in these early phases of development. There is a dangerously high chance of them exploding outright when fired, and their accuracy is lacking to say the least. But the sheer force of the weapons is equal parts terrifying and awe inspiring, a line of small scale children’s toys is produced by the end of the week, and banned by the empress after just two days of mending punctured eyes.Such weapons may be needed very soon, for the Nachetar threat grows ever more pressing. Curfews are enacted across the lake bordering cities as monstrous kha-pike begin to slither out of the water like snakes and up the river, striking at citizens and dragging them into the water. Roc riders report seeing concerning shapes and movements beneath the surface of the lake, great clouds of silt fill the water obscuring the movements of something below. Badly affected citizens walk into the river and water of their own accord. Rats, snakes, lizards and crabs quickly become a persistent and vicious threat, small but freakishly intelligent for their size. It is a poor time for war, but with the elves refusing to allow Lolunan agents to fix the problem what else can be done?>>6365041>Justinian the PiousFew are as in danger from the Nachetar as the Venks, but their god has smiled on them, for the tools to protect themselves lay in their own lands. Barzan mages enact powerful geomantic rituals to unearth a great supply of Thaumicite, which finds its way to the border of the great lake Tarn, with 2 units leaving with the Barza to aid in combating the threat at its source. At home, the great tower rises up, a grand black tower rising high over the landscape. Connected to the cities of the land by great networks of silversteel wire it promises to be a powerful center of control over the land. There is even talk of building a great thaumic glass water turbine to draw holy power from the blessed river that is nearby, which could prove another useful source of power.
>>6365062>The Krawl of Master Xad'naleThe sprawling hives of the Krawl continues to multiply, grow, and expand. With this expansion comes a development of new magic, a fierce command of fire gifted to them from Darkroe for the extermination of their enemies. Far to the south this fire is used well, burning out another den of the Molluscoids, but the coward’s armies had fled before the army arrives. Hopefully the walls of the Fungal Garden will be enough to protect the area.>>6365125>Krovian BandsIt takes all of a minute of thoughtful gazing at the flood water rushing out of the portal for a Krovian Shaman to turn to his command and ask “Shouldn’t we just turn it off?” And so with some critical advice from Krawl forces the portal is disabled, cutting off the flow of cursed water from the northern lake. Really, why hadn’t anyone else done this sooner? They can always turn it back on if for some reason they think they need to.In preparation for the grand invasion of the elven homelands a port is built on the lake and a grand construction of ships begins to ferry the many armies across the water. A cursory check in the region for new metals is also made, though only lead ores are discovered.
>>6365440>Kholan of KhurnaireTalking, talking, talking. Always with the words, with the possibilities. One thinks only of purposes, what is it, what should it, who should it protect? The other thinks only of revenge, of a destiny cut short, then briefly grasped at before being cast away again, then ignored. Ignored! Them! They were to devour this world! Consume it all! And then cast into a corner and forgotten! The last one just wants more. More to devour, more to infest. Really, planting the ideas was the easy part, weaving their bodies in such a way that they meshed together, became more than the sum of their parts? Well, that was just inspired, if she can permit herself a moment of pride. The rest of the catastrophe is up to them.>>6365506>Kingdom of OrdalanRecruitment numbers soar for the Spears of the Ashen Dawn as news of the Nachetar threat returning reaches Ordalan. Men and women alike take arms to defend their homeland, while tacticians consider how to manage such vast numbers. The lands northwest of the wall of Sturnes have long lay empty, undoubtedly due to the fears of a second invasion from Adenai. But with the elven state now merely a vassal of the Orcmen the area sees a new surge of settlers, primarily of Arpian refugees who look to make a new life here, far from the troubles of Montico. The effectiveness of the lie is mixed at best. In Sturnes and Emberglen it was accepted with little protest, of course the Baron was working with the Anelk rebels and providing key aid. South of the Sturne river however, amongst Vermillion Grave and especially in the Anelk Aerie itself a different story is told, of a man more concerned with his own glory than the freedom of his people. That the Baron was actively interrogating Anelk on the nature of the torch symbol of Montico when the great flame of freedom was lit, spotted by dozens of Anelk gawking at it as the pillar of fire rose into the sky, somewhat undermines his narrative. Fortunately such stories rarely make it as far as Emberglen and Sturnes, where the noble families of Ordalan rest.
> WIZARDSAs integration and education of the freed slaves of the new world continues they reveal to the wizards a curious new plant that they have grown and kept in secret from their captors, in little hidden valleys throughout the mountains. Thiefmark they call it, a drab grey bloom that eventually forms into thickets of seeds. These seeds carry a curious curse within them though, for they cause whatever eats them to glow with a light that the consumer themselves cannot see, the tribe uses it to brand criminals with tattoos that illuminate their body with the nature of their crimes. The orcish fortress is repaired and rebuilt to Vizari standards, even recovering a few of their terrible steel ‘cannons’ though supplies to operate them are quite limited, and it’s unclear where the Orcs were sourcing them from.>>6365711> Sublime MonticcoThe smell of baking bread fills the mountains. It is a happy smell, a peaceful one that promises full stomachs, long lives, and most importantly, peace. Cakes, pies, and a thousand marvelous variants of tarts flow from the fields below to the mountains on high as fields of grain are carved into the forests. It is in this time that the exchange of bread begins, an at first tentative trade of baked goods between Anelk and Arpian households that marks a shared promise between them.
> Shennigans!> The Crimson Crab Clan Rises! From the north, Rachni and Red ants strike in an angry biting swarm. From the west molluscoids rush the lightly defended New Krawl City (not to be confused with the New New Krawl City). With only light resistance from the walled capital to contest their movements the three monster armies take the city and meet together, where something strange and horrifying happens. Molluscoid, Rachni, and Red Skrit blend and twist together in strange and frightening ways, in defiance of biology and logic both, forming a terrible new menace, the Crimson Crab Clan. This serious new threat sets its eyes on the Krawl capital, the one true obstacle to its domination of the region.> Stomper MadnessAn elite Loluna catering ninja squad descends upon the stolen stomper, armed with the strongest of liquors, the juiciest of buffalo and kha-pike steaks and a sommelier’s wit. Their opponents within are somewhat hungover, but rally quickly at the smell of steaks, and soon a desperate battle to outfeed the krovians into a food coma begins. Inquiries as to the state of the Empress indicate that she has retired to her bookshop. At the third course the Krovians manage to cajole the ninja catering team to start drinking with them. By the tenth course the entire situation has devolved into a drunken party. Somewhere along the way a ninja remembers his job, tries to pilot the stomper, but manages to flip it onto its back instead, crushing the bookstore into splinters. Realizing with horror that he may have killed the empress he downs an entire bottle of the finest Alchemical Mind Destroying Tequilla and promptly forgets the entire affair. (The stomper will require a minor action to be flipped upright)
> Turbanic ProtestsIt is not an invasion, the Lords of Steel insist to the protesting Lolunan bureaucrat, who stresses over and over again, waving paperwork and documents and long lists of rules, that their actions constitute a rebellion. It is not an invasion, and if it is a rebellion, well, let the Empress declare it such then, not some clipboard wielding secretary clinging desperately to the side of the great spellbreak boar. No, this is a protest. The Empress is missing! Missing! Or possibly crushed under a stomper? The rumors are rather unclear on that matter. The empress is missing, a stomper is stolen and destroyed, or turtled (no one is quite sure what this means, but it is shouted loudly a great deal), and Loluna calls the Krovians allies? The Krovians certainly don’t refer to the Lolunans as such, seeing the empire as little more than a useful supplier of potions. Nonetheless, this is not an invasion. It is simply a declaration of discontent, a sort of civil riot. Krovia will return its stolen property, and find the missing Empress, dead or alive, and when it does the Turbans will cease their protest. It is that simple. It’s definitely not an invasion. Not a single building is burned, not a single home looted. Definitely just a protest.
> Turbanic Investigation. The results of the Khurnaire investigation is...confusing to say the least. The trail begins far to the south, at the Sparkcite mines, where a standard invoice form is located describing the purchase of a wagon of Sparkicite by Lord Mana, except the name Lord Mana has been crossed out and instead has been written as “Lady Psuedonym of Turban-opia”. At its next stop in the turban capital the load of Sparkicite is again sold by Lord Mana, also crossed out and replaced by “Lady Psuedonym of Turban-opia”, and then bought again by Lord Mana, also crossed out, but this time replaced by “Definitely Otorso”. The Hivelord denies having done such a thing. At no point is the legibility of the crossed out Lord Mana ever impaired. The Sparkicite continues on its doomed journey, passing from Lord Mana to Lord Mana (always crossed out), acquiring various owners along the way such of “Duchess of Falsehoods of Orcmanie”, “Slick John’s Honest Kettle Car Emporium” (this appears to actually be genuine, and the cargo was hastily repurchased by “Sage Tinderbox” who then crossed out their name and replaced it with Lord Mana. “Faux-Krawl Patties Company”, “Dentures and More”, and “Finally, we’re here” which was also crossed out and replaced with “Definitely the Skrit”. The entire operation, and its coverup, is so poorly done that it seems almost intentional. The entire document itself is then covered in a shakily drawn red X, upon which is drawn in poor handwriting “Definitely a Krovian Plot”. Copies of the report (including the red X and declaration of Krovian Involvement) are distributed across the land via a number of messengers. Bizarrely this also includes the investigators conclusions, that this is either the worst coverup in the history of cover-ups, and that the Khurnaire are definitely responsible, or, and this seems highly unlikely, it is in fact the most perfect frameup of Khurnaire by the Krovians ever. The original investigator has gone missing, likely due to the resurgence of the molluscoid threat.----End Turn 46-----

>>6366149>>6366153>Action 1: CastresEver since the Adenic citadel of Castra Orienta first played a host to Orcmen armies back in the days of the 1st Nachetar War, the area has supported a population of half-orcs. That number only grew through the period of war residency, and became the Majority when Adenai started to pull back and turn inward. With further territory granted to the Orcmanie in the aftermath of Lucius' War, the area is now becoming something of a local hub as well as a good stopping point on any journey into Ordalan or further abroad. And so, a town charter is granted for Castres upon the banks of the river, a town new-built from local slate and held beneath the Count of the prominent local Craneaile Dynasty. >Action 2: Farms for CastresAnd with a new town going up, tracts of land between the town and the border-fortress are put beneath the plow for the food demanded.>IntelligenceThe Bureau return to the important matter of safeguarding the internal security and stability of our nation; the matter of another Nachetar war putting a greater import on the detection and halting of infiltrators foreign and ethereal.>MillitaryRooin Army, Denai Guards - continue the journey overland by means of Urotti road and rail. All the purposeless time spent just talking and resting in her citizen's homes. Why does she hesitate?Action 2 - Overwrite DirectivesBut of course. She remembers when it matters. Took a clean node that she excised. Travelled back north to the Barzaentine army. She can just do that, you shouldn't look too closely at that shadow. Yet, the problem. Perhaps the fleet has the auxilaries to supply them eternally, keep the psyche out of contact. Perhaps Luxor has the light to keep madness at bay, delay the consequence of all this at his cost. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps. Certainty is desired. The solution she arrives is as always, a strengthening of the self. Transform the node into a broodmother, and write unto it her simple truths. Instruct it to repeat this loudly and proudly over any intervening voice until they too repeat these truths.'You are Barzaentine, inheritors of the Tellden. You serve Justinian, and you shall follow his will. Whatever you think, you are still as I say you are.'Now, the reproductive behaviours. The broodmother will lay eggs as needed, and from those eggs shall be birthed a hundred crawling legs to serve as bracelets and necklaces. They know nothing but to echo their mother, and knowing no better, any that wears them will hear their echoes, and be affirmed in their self. She tests it on herself first, of course!
>>6366162>>6368137>Minor Action - Repossession"-ou are to retrieve cuttings and fruits of the Hurnistian Grove north, to replicate its miracles here and fulfill another prequisite of the ritual. I trust that you are capable enough to do this task, but do keep the diplomatic repercussions to the minimum. You are far too much trouble for any there to handle by themselves. Keep contact isolated and one-by-one, or provide alternative reasons for them to ignore your presence. Ah, I apologize, perhaps I have spoken too much. Now, the wine?">Military Action - Against the BarbaricThe Lord of Steel, or well, one of the Lords of Steel, the best one, they'd like to believe, taps the curious metal. It seems.. strangely alive? Eerie, yet powerful. The source of it all is.. east? Just at the edge of this peninsula, the folly of the Vizars still scarring the land, or so Lord Mana says. There hasn't been any particularly valuable goods they have sei- secured so far. Perhaps the chasm will be the answer? The pulse metal is packaged off to be sent to the smiths of the Turbans, and the Steel's army marches against Candiru, to secure the chasm and dig in against Bryat and Zhelezo until Isenzanaro and Khurnaire arrive.Hm. Should check on their very welcome and very comfortable Lord of Gold. Some official-looking folks are making trouble again. The Empress is in 'vacation'? Is this an insult to our intelligence? Nothing against the Krovians too. Sure, there's a war north and all, but where is the Empress's support of this?
>>6366162Life in Ordalan is peaceful, the troubles of the Aripan minority is easy to handle, not just because the Nixen have few concerns to deal with, but also because the Anelks have some internal strifes over the fact an Aripan is responsible for the freeing of most of their kind. This makes it easy for the Nix nobles to keep the Anelk hands off the Aripan, for the most part. Though, there is a question over how to deal with their religion. It bestows them blessings, which they are deprived if they lose faith, but it will also make it harder to fit in with the Anelks as equals. Perhaps a reform is in order. But how to arrange it.>Action 1: Brimstone enhanced Pyronixen. Use of sulphur provides a means to regulate the power of the Nixenzorn. The properties of brimstone intrigues the Pyronixen, and though its use has caused a fair few rampages as it inflames the Nixenzorn, the subsequent deprivation gives a period of clarity, this also provides a means of regulating the Nixenzorn in others, easing the process of ascension for new Pyronixen. Excessive use drains the Nixenzorn enough to shed all bestial features, though the charcoal coloured skin and flaming eyes are permanent, and the Nixenzorn will eventually recover, causing the bestial features to return.>Action 2: Fishing along the Western Coast. Another source of food, fatty fish, sure to benefit the strong Nixen. The Nixen have been hesitant to make use of the coast, but we are stronger now, and we want to eat more. Long have we been deprived the taste of fish and crab, but now, we shall taste the meat of the sea, and use it to build stronger bodies. Of particular note is the Aripan and Anelks getting a taste of fish, a new flavour.>Military: The march continues.

>>6366163>Action One. Philosophy, the nature of being and Kaenum."Once, there was a city state dedicated to Arts, the many meanings of the world and trade. A place that the prior leadership of Guliseare saw as a filthy den of Kaenumites. While it is true that the people of this city state were fairly unscrupulous, their character had little to do with their interests in the arts and philosophy. Considering one's place in the world, questioning everything and forging one's own path in the world through their interpretation of the world Kaenum had created is cherished. For unlike the gods made by other peoples, she created us with but one grand purpose. The one that we chose for ourselves. There is no expectations but the ones we give ourselves. Finding one's way through life without guidance from above is difficult, but that is why we each hold a torch in our hearts. To help guide others. She wishes for us to be kind and to lift one another up so that we all may achieve our dreams and goals, but it is for us to act upon, and so long as we do not try to snuff out the lights of others, she will surely be happy.">Action Two. The art of Rhetoric. With the state of the newly formed Sublime Monticco, the country is open to foreign influence and there are many Aripan whom have chosen neither Kaenum or Aelelox after the coup. So, investment not dedicated towards revitalizing philosophy on the continent is made into the art of words, how best to debate and engage in rhetoric. To silence an idea is not to refute it. Far better that a healthy, honest debate is engaged in. Not only to better discredit idea's and influence in a way that harms naught but one's ego, but to allow ideas from other people's to enter our lands and grow without drowning out our own voices. Besides, it's best that everyone see the light anyone has chosen to share and chose for themselves whether or not to add the embers from it to their own. And, it will not only ensure there's a healthy competition of idea's aids in the development of our people, but better allow us to convince those whom stray from Kaenum's word to at least hold her ideals with their new faith if not bring them back. For she values freedom and creativity over worship... This likely would cause a fair bit of syncretism among the more polytheistic neighbors given enough time.>Military Action.Continue to aid in the transport of the Barzaenium forces heading to the portal and in their strategy, along with aiding in the fighting as well if need be.
>>6366318>Justinian the PiousThe outer shell of ebon concrete is only the first stage of construction of the tower. Great nets of silver wire are woven all through it, connecting to the ones that flow throughout the entire land. Each one hums with power, silvery flames igniting around them as they are connected. Once these meshes are in place molten thaumic glass is poured in, encasing the silver wires and filling the rest of the central spire of the tower. At the top of the tower one can look directly down through the glass into a maelstrom of whirling silver brilliance contained within the glass, filled with the power of the Barzan people, and their hopes for the future. The power responds only to one thing, the rightful ruler of Barza, and within is the might to do great and incredible things for that land. The light of silver lanterns reveals no Nachetar lurking in the Khurnaire lands, save one, an old blue skinned slaug Orc, held together by stitches, who freely admits to having come over in the original nachetar invasion, then abandoned the army and slipped into the then domo lands, eventually coming to “borrow” a slaug corpse. Given he has spent many, many, tyrns tending a small farm it seems unlikely that he is plotting anything. The little bug bracelets of the Khurnaire are odd, terrifying little things. They constantly whisper statements of loyalty, to Barza, to Justinian, and little else. It is unclear if, or even how one might test such a thing, dipping them into the cursed water of the lake does not seem to impair their function. Eventually a brave enough soldier volunteers to take a bath in the lake water while wearing the accessory. If the enraged scream, hurling, and subsequent stomping of the necklace is any indication the nachetar spirits possessing the soldier certainly don’t like the little bugs. Regardless, the soldier is rescued and his body purged with healing magic, though he retains no memory of the event.>>6366757>UrottiHank Underhill and his son Robert Underhill have a dream. A dream to bring the majesty of dwarven cooking all across the land, in an easy to contain, easy to use, safe, clean, and reliable way. Early attempts to use Sparkicite as a spice or seasoning quickly revealed that the explosive material is both extremely bitter, and operates as an extremely effective laxative. However via a careful dwarven process it can be transformed and bottled into a flammable gas that can be released and set aflame, then controlled with nozzles, allowing for even controlled heating. These Dwarf Grills quickly become extremely popular, and soon nobility and even common folk are clamouring to acquire them as far away as Ordalan.
>>6367110>OrcmanieThe town of Castres springs up without incident, tilling fields of wheat and oats, and quickly growing into another fine example of Orcman Civilization.Little of note is discovered in routine checks for spies, though an odd incident is reported at the Brewery of Loter. A beautiful woman, or an ancient patchwork of corpses (the man describing the incident used the terms interchangeably, seemingly without realizing the oddity), approached and purchased a full cask of the bitter wine that is produced from the odd eye fruits of Ganuz’s Grove. She then moved the 600lb cask by herself up and out of the cellar. After picking their jaws off the floor the keeper of the brewery followed her out of the cellar only to find her, and the cask gone. Fortunately she had already paid in full.>>6367148>Habitun CultDwarf and elf work feverishly day and night shaping Adamant, carving runes, and then slotting the complex constructions together, sealing a loyal shadow into each device alongside the various magical materials needed to empower the shadow and the devices within. With vast legions marching on the borders and the imminent threat of the Nachetars it is unclear if these devices will ever be used for war, or they will instead guard the entrances of the elven cities now buried beneath the earth.Salamander rounds are incredibly tricky devices to use. Each one is effectively a bomb waiting to explode, held in a primed state by runes of heat. While Katan prides herself on being able to remove the cap of such a device without losing a hand, most elves instead opt for a simple string that can be pulled at a safer distance. The devices are still incredibly dangerous however, more than one elf must make use of ouroboros dust to reassemble their hand and arm.>>6367179>Krovian BandsClearly settling in for the long term, the people of Svezhiy begin the tedious business of farming (to feed pigs) and the construction of forges. They watch with a mixture of relief and disappointment as a great army of red crabs passes by, on the one hand seafood not tained with the curse of the Nachetar, on the other hand they don’t even have a real weapon to hand to fight with!>>6367386>Tohrs, Queen of the VenksThe Venks begin a great migration enmasse, abandoning their southern holdings, picking up and moving homes, farms, and other constructions as best can be done, retreating for more fortified holdings to the north. Such is the tribulations of the west that some Venks even look out to the east, wondering if some more stable and safe home might be found across the ocean.
>>6367197>Empire of LolunaAll research and development has ground to a halt in Loluna, as all efforts are geared toward the production of terrible weapons large and small. The war of bureaucrats they will call it in the history books, or at least the bureaucrats will insist on this. The validity of the military movements, the protection of trade agreements, arguments over dates, calendar systems, circumstantial evidence for or against the ongoing life of the empress. No less than thirty second hand accounts are provided insisting that someone who was probably the empress was seen somewhere! Eventually the Turbans concede the point, that the Krovians have probably not killed the empress, and that the stomper is only being operated on a lease-to-own basis, and this does not warrant a full on invasion of the greater Lolunan empire.>>6368137>Kholan of KhurnaireA curse on bureaucrats! The Lords of steel have allowed business in Pesok to continue as usual, citing an interminably large pile of paperwork from Loluna as evidence that the empire is in good working order. Some new casus belli may be in order to move them into action. There are orders to be written. Instructions to be delivered. And always a nagging feeling that she’s missing something...The little insects are a bold new approach to dealing with the Nachetar thread. Instead of purging the fields with magic, or driving them back with force of arms, the insects simply offer only one thought to think. Glory to Barza, Loyalty to Justinian. Limited tests in the lake certainly provoke a reaction, nachetar contaminated wildlife immediately tries to destroy the insects the moment their nature becomes clear, it certainly seems to have some effect on them, though visions of barzan loyal nachetars seem unlikely now.>The KrawlUnder the careful guidance of Lolunan tutors, Krawl forms work tirelessly to build the frame and process the ingredients for a fresh batch of Alchemical Bombs. Along the way several pureforms burst into flames, explode, and are killed in a variety of exciting novel ways. This experience is not without merit however, for the exposure to cloud cotton’s flammable nature grants Xadnale a new understanding of fire, how to shape it, induce, and command it. A great fiery altar springs up at the capital that flows with potent fuel, paired with new augmentations to Xadnale to use them to move about with great speed and power.>>6368264>THE CRIMSON CRAB CLANDespite their bombastic nature and love of yelling, the Crab Clan is surprisingly talented at the digging of tunnels, managing to both clear and widen the tunnel considerably, with swarms of crabs big and small hauling away stones. At the southern entrance a fort is constructed, with great boulders of stone used to block passage.
>>6368606>Sublime MonticcoWords, words are a strange thing. They are, strictly speaking, just breaths. Every lifetime has millions of them. Where Ourania goes, she speaks. These are just breaths of air, but they change lives, altar perspectives, change the world. Others too will come to Monticco, with their own words. To be of Kaenum one must allow a freedom of ideas. Of words. To stay of Kaenum one must be prepared to defend those words, to defend the very ideals of freedom. And so the art of Rhetoric is taught, how to defend and dissect concepts and ideas. With it comes the consideration of those ideas, a willingness to discard the inferior or wrong and embrace new, more pure truths. It is a strange thing for some, who have lived their entire lives under the rule of Aelelox. There are many in the nation who find themselves lost. One god cast down, another risen in fire. But for many Aripan they cannot worship either god, so utterly broken by the revolution they live day to day in a constant state of ennui. So it is that the Philosophy of the Flame rises to be, quietly encouraged by Ourania as an alternative approach to the question of religion. It shares many of the ideals of Kaenum, but quietly avoids the matter of worship and divine allegiance, serving to allow many Aripan to move on with their lives without feeling as though they have betrayed everything before it.
> Barza and Guliseare Arrival at the SiteAs the crowded airships arrive over the northern lake a great cracking sound is heard. Far blow rocks break and crumble, and a great avalanche is unleashes as a new river following from the northern lake to the southern lake is carved from the mountains. Dark figures scurry away as the rocks crash and fall, diving into the lake before Barzan and Guliseare forces can draw closer. Water rushes out in a great torrent, crashing into the lake, creating a great surge of water that races toward the far shores. The Barzan forces can only watch grimly as the wave darkens under the influence of the nachetar. On the ground, geomancers set to work immediately, dowsing and reading the layout of the terrain, only to discover a terrible fact. The mountain range is riddled with caverns and tunnels, hundreds of them, any of which might hold the problematic portal. Worse still the permeation of nachetars in the region is actively interfering with these dowsing pulses, the results coming back distorted and difficult to read, or worse in the form of mocking and jeering forms. The task of cleansing this corruption from the land is sure to be difficult without the aid of great and terrible magic.> The Dark WaveAll along the lake a tide of dark water roiling with undead fiends crashes into coastal villages, ports, fisheries, and other industry, killing those they can before retreating into the water.> Battle on the LakeKrovian, Lolunan and Elvish navies meet upon the lake. The battle is fierce, and though outnumbered the elves, their frog-folk allies, and the great lake monster Kare put up a fierce battle. Still the battle is turning against them, the Krovians are every part as comfortable on water as the elves, and the numbers the Lolunans bring bring the battle toward its likely conclusion. Then a wave of water strikes the boats, and moldering corpses come surging up from the deep, little white eyed fey creatures, ancient frog-folk, and less rotted Krawl and Lolunans as well. There too are all manner of briny lake creatures and strange mutants. They surge up the sides of the boats, ripping and clawing at the wood as desperate sailors jab at them with lance and spear. In the end the sailors of all three nations are pulled into the deep.> Siege of Svezihy: Crabs RebuffedThe fledgling town of Svezihy finds itself under attack not by elves, but by a great army of red crabs, who surge forth with no preamble or warning, throwing themselves with reckless abandon at the walls. A hastily cobbled together militia however manages to hold the walls against wave after wave of the crustaceans, who eventually make camp outside of the city, to try another day. It is only afterwards that they discover a great dark wave has swept into the docks, carrying all manner of undead who murdered all they could before returning to the water, corpses in tow.
> Battle at the BorderThe first day of the campaign is trivial. Elven scouts cross the border, and find the city undefended. The Brasswalker rumbles across the land, crushing Lolunan farms under its feet as portals mounted on its hands extrude forth vast tangles of brambles that the elves hope will spread and plague the land for ages, hindering the production of anything useful. The city militia and citizens of Holmbastus put up a furious, but ultimately futile struggle, hiding hair trigger caches of alchemist fire across the landscape, striking desperate, dangerously potion overdosed strikes, and giving their lives by the dozens. It is not enough, the city falls rapidly. Then comes Lolunan reinforcements. Terrible weapons of moonlight and black smoke strike at impressive ranges. Stompers wade into battle, crushing friend and foe alike, weapons of war raining down. Rocs swoop and strike the city, tearing buildings asunder, filling the streets with fire and lightning. Outside the city dwarves and sharkmen clash and skirmish, animalistic fury and premier craftsmanship struggling to defeat each other. The battle rages for days, with armies rotating in and out, the stompers and Brasswalk in a never ending game of cat and mouse. Rain crashes down ceaselessly, hampering visibility, crushing the morale of both sides, and by the second day a seemingly permanent fog swirls across the battlefield. The fog only clears twice, when the dread A-Bombs of the Lolunans push it back, filling the streets of Holmbastus with roaring flame, killing countless people on both sides of the conflict, and leaving countless more horribly scarred and injured. The first the Brasswalker simply wades through, the second engulfs it entirely, then the entire massive construct suddenly appears fifty meters away, steam rising from its body.It is when the dwarven lines are forced into retreat that the battle finally begins to shift, with the Krovians able to push in on the elves as well. The elves begrudgingly give ground, street by street, callously destroying as much as they can in the process, before finally retreating to their border.
>Battle at the Border AftermathThe city and countryside stink of blood and corpses. The Lolunans have barely begun to creep from what few homes remain standing when the dark wave of water rises up from the lake, sweeping across the city and the land beyond. It is only a few feet high, and it will subside in just a few days, but the consequences of it are grim beyond measure. For the crowded battlefields strewn with corpses are washed with that tainted water, and the dead rise, snarling and screaming battle hymns in languages never before spoken. Thousands of corpses, of elf, dwarf, lolunan and krovian rise with hatred burning in their eyes and fall upon their brethren. There is a desperate retreat by the exhausted armies as the city of Holmbastus fills with the undead. The armies of both sides fall back, forming defensive lines, but the menace does not pursue them, instead it cuts a path toward the lake, cutting down any they can in their path. Holmbastus is purged of life, then recruited to the cause. Then singing songs of bards never born they vanish into the lake.> Battle of the Twin Cities: Attackers rebuffed Far to the north a great host of roc riders cut across the lake, avoiding Habitun territory as long as possible before shooting into it. The response is immediate, even upon crossing into Habitun waters ballista with unnatural accuracy begin to fired from little picket ships in the water. When they pass into the mountains however the frequency of these attacks increases dramatically. Horrific shrapnel filled ballista shriek into the air with shocking accuracy and luck, riddling rocs with injuries. The two squads of birds turn upon the twin cities of Bikube and Alpha and begin fierce combinations of firebombs and ground assaults, with some rocs battling in the skies, while others land troops at tactical locations. Here the cunning of the elves becomes apparent, for situated on the lake is some strange cairn from which an evil fog billows, a dark animated force that moves and strikes and kills seemingly with impunity, while more traditional forces defend the cairn from which the monster seems to draw its strength. To make matters worse the twin cities are heavily fortified, with elves popping in and out of tunnels and narrow passages, or more annoyingly using their portals to appear, cut down Lolunans, then suddenly vanish. Nonetheless the cities suffer badly from the attacks, with Lolunans pouring alchemist fire down tunnels, and terrifying electrical weapons causing tremendous damage to any elf their weapons hit. In the end the Lolunans retreat to the nearby mountains to catch their breath, patch their wounds, and prepare for another round of assaults.----End Turn 47----

Enterprising growers find unspoiled sandy land a hextre out from the city, and establish new farms to grow the crop once more.>Action 2: Castres StablesAs a border town to Ordalan, and a link along the road to Barza beyond it; Castres had long been a stopping point for switching horses even before the granting of the town charter. When the Nachetar hordes emerge to halt the closing of the portal, we must be ready to fight them back.To that end, a great relic has been bought from Rooin cathedral within a sealed chest, blessed and consecrated to the gods. >>6369355(It's like we're out of tape. : https://youtu.be/raXdAoPCTMs)To speak of the Domo, of the People, is to speak of its spirits. Antemortem, postmortem, regardless of the time, the people were essentially the spirit, and the spirit essentially the people. We cannot speak much of the people itself, for I was not there and neither are we, and the tales of people, especially of the antemortem, are far obscure and questionable than what we would like. Then, our only course of action, if we are to understand our roots in a genuine sense, are in the tales of spirits. Antemortem, the Domo worshipped a myriad of spirits, the most prime of which are Marlene, with Urmest as her consort, Malkast as her confidant, and the Sun King as her equal. In this worship, they recreated themselves in their image, orienting their society around the Godkings, and their many courts. Much of our knowledge of the Marlenic mythos is lost, as the lorekeepers that would have passed on this myths were either killed in the Telldenic invasion, or in mourning of the spirits that were lost, told no tales of their life besides that which relates to their death.Postmortem, ignoring the Domonic's interpretations of the Telldeni, lone Mannumannu served as a protector. The Domo's freedom from their fate was guaranteed, for the King in the Wind cut away at all of the grasping dead with her blade. Yet, even in freedom, the Domo we knew couldn't bear to part with what it had lost, and so chased at the shadows in its pursuit. Colloquially, this pursuit of the dead is likely what the Domo referred to as 'Kholan'. As you would no doubt know, the Domo would find its doom by meeting eerie reflections of what they pursued in the Forgotten, and some memory seen by the Hero would inspire him into the mass sacrifice of all the Domo to the Witch in an attempt at recreating Marlene, while he descended into the earth to free all the dead from its grasp.-Kholan of Khurnaire, Lord of Mana, Selected Writings on the Domonic People

The court of Ordalan is quiet these days, with the queen off to distant lands, to fight the Nachetar. Instead all matters are focused on the Anelks and Aripan, the Anelks are not going back to worshiping Kaenum anytime soon, but they are upset that the Aripan get to worship Aelelox without issue. Ordalan is a strange nation indeed, intolerant yet tolerant, they honour their allies, even when it would be easy to exploit them.>Action 1: The Neo Aripan, with time to recover in this strange land, a new kind of Aripan rises. The Aripan yearn for the glory of Guliseare, now lost. But learning from the Nix tales of Tellden, of a once great empire which is now dwarfed by the combined might of Ordalan, Orcmanie and Barzaenium, they spend much time in introspection. Education becomes paramount, literacy rates skyrocket, debates are held, meetings with other races. From this emerges a new type of Aripan, educated, strong, nimble, well spoken, yet humble, they still have room to grow. They are all of high strength and intellect, every warrior also a poet, every philosopher also an athlete. These are called Neo Aripan, they are the future of the species, and champions of Aelelox. One wonders if soon there will be born the taller castes from among the Neo Aripan, their souls no longer weighed down by the hubris of Guliseare.>Action 2: Expansion of the Sulphur Mines. As the Brimstone enhancement has proven effective, the demand skyrockets, and soon the mines are expanded. There are complaints regarding the smell of sulphur that permeates some Pyronixen, but methods of masking it are devised, while others just get used to it.>Military: Sturnes and Emberglen armies to Hohenholm, to defend the coast. The Lolunans are insistent that a great threat will emerge from the waters, it is unfortunate we do not get to join in the closing of the gate, but it is consistent with the Nachetar's behaviour to feast upon civilian populace, and there are plenty of forces at the gate already, meanwhile the Lolunan war has left their heartland exposed. It is also an opportunity for the queen to meet the Nixen who moved to these lands, administering pyreborn rituals to excise the curse from them too. One wonders if the Nix workers are more surprised by the Nix men fighting in the army or by the queen's impressive stature and copper-hued skin.
