Honestly anons, this has got me shook. This kind of thing doesn't usually bother me too much but this time I'm feeling it. The thing is, relatively speaking, he won't experience any consequences. He'll end up in prison, but he would have ended up there anyway for a different crime, and she would still be alive. But, prison isn't that different from his life on the streets as far as dumb problems and misery goes. It's kind of the same thing to him. He will live out his days in a state of "but I did eat breakfast", never really understanding what he did or why he did it, and never experiencing remorse.
