Ok so let me get this straight.. you guys are racing to work for free, for a site that makes seven figures a year?

I made an open source social media platform that would save humanity from all the problems of social media such as addiction, shortening attention spans, capitalism etc. Literally the answer to all of the world's problems is removing capitalism from Internet services and they no longer have to assrape us with purposely manipulative web design.
But people just screeched and wouldn't use it. Nobody would use it, nobody would volunteer to moderate it, nobody would help me with the code.
I showed people the solution but the people just screeched in some sort of autistic Stockholm syndrome and scurried back to Twitter, Tiktok, Youtube, and 4chan. They want their cage. They like it in there.

Humans are creatures that would rather suffer together than be happy alone.

Everyone knows Discord sucks but because all your friends are there, it's enough to keep using it.

Is that you moot?

Why would moot lurk on 4chan, seething in jealousy over 4chan's financial success?
Doesn't sound plausible.

I've been on 4chan since 2008. I'm used to it.

A big part of the social media problem is that people get used to whatever site / software they use.
I'm trying to get people to switch to Linux but they simply refuse to, because they're scared of change
>b-b-but my comfy cozy windows
>>
>>82457653
yeah this is why I still use windows 7. I hate the changes those jeets have made in 10/11.
>>
>>82457673
I used Windows 7 till last year. Didn't want to switch to Win10 but also wanted to keep using Steam so I had to try something new. I tried Linux. You would like Pop OS! if you could force yourself through the initial pain of change.
With a couple of mods it's very comfy and doesn't bother you with any unnecessary bullshit.
It just works

Here's my taskbar

i dont think 4chan is financially lucrative now
in the past they were, but over time it was a loss of money year after year
moot got hit hard by lawsuits because of 4chan's shitposting and burned through a lot of savings. this place isnt a money making machine or anything

i miss moot. you never know what you got until its gone
>>

>this place isnt a money making machine or anything

So chinamoot keeps it running just because he loves imageboard culture so much?
>>

>I had an idea but nobody would code it for free
>>
>>82457773
I actually did code it all by myself but it's pretty hard work to be a team of 100 coders.
So the end result is kinda shit and then people whine.
If they whine, they should help.
But no. People want it all. They want a ready-made platform that's free and perfect and has every feature imaginable with no restrictions
I hate the modern web user because it's like a greedy child
>>
>>82457571
Burying your head in the sand isn't a solution.
>>
>>82457950
>the solution is to keep using Tiktok and not responsible alternatives

The fuck u trying to say
>>
>>82457571
Where can I found that social media of you ?
>>
>>82458030
It's not just internet services that are the issue, the issue is capitalism itself, or how it is evolving/dying, and trying to turn everything into a commodity. We have an issue with some technology, that people absorb themselves with this technology as a form of escapism. Escape the dreary life, get dopamine hits from likes and interaction with people. They not only need that, but also need to be around others that are like that.
Sorry that nobody offered to help you, that sucks.
>>
on some boards (/his/) the choice is either work for free or the work doesn't get done
I wish I was immune to network effects, there are way better sites out there than 4chan and twitter from a user friendliness perspective but they're ded because no one uses them
>>
>>82457571
dude get your head out of your ass about "making your own social media". Yeah that's a basic webshit project people do to learn the basics of programming. The fact that everyone is on 4chan has nothing to do with it being hard to make an alternate site
>>
>>82457571
>you guys are racing to work for free, for a site that makes seven figures a year?
1.) that's essentially what you do when you post here. you're creating content for the content aggregator to serve.
2.) volunteer work is not a new idea.
3.) there's no source for the seven figures bit. you just made that up.
>>
>>82457571
I immediately don't want to use your little personal project site just based on your personality alone. One (1) post is all it took, and I didn't even finish reading the whole thing because you truly are THAT insufferable.
