>>82459845Eat to live. Not that I eat enough to maintain a healthy weight.
>>82459845Live and eat
I vary between both. I mostly eat to live now. I made a concerted effort to lose weight years ago - dropped from around 260 to 170 lbs. I started counting calories and tracking everything I ate. I still struggle to keep weight off now, despite not eating much. My weight plateaued despite eating 1500 calories/day, even when lifting and things. I started eating more when lifting progress stalled. When I was slightly obese and not watching what I eat, I would eat what I wanted. I never really ate to excess. I still struggled with weight. Now, I monitor everything I eat. When I look at the calories of something, I equate that to how much I'd have to run to burn it off. That random donut that someone brought into the office for everyone - that'll be a 2-4 mile run to burn it off. I could just as easily not eat it and hardly notice the difference in my satiety or hunger. I am not ridiculous with it though. Social pressures to eat from situations like food in the office, celebrations, etc - seem to always fight my desire to lose weight and not eat anything. It was far easier when I lived alone. Now I live with other people who either buy and leave delicious/accessible snacks/candy around while offering it a lot, or I come home and have to smell delicious greasy food that challenges my desires to not eat much.
>>82459845Neither.I alternate between cooking stuff because I enjoy cooking and eating it mainly to know how it turned out and what to change next time, and not eating for days because I don't know what hunger feels like and get so absorbed in things I just forget to.
