My sister and I grew up in identically abusive environments but our coping mechanisms are completely flipped. I'm someone who journals every thought I have, I'm very tapped into my feelings and navigating conversation/tracking people to a compulsive degree. I am making big moves in a career in creative writing because I have a need to get my ideas both on paper and into the world. Whenever I try to press my sister on any thoughts or beliefs she can't handle it, she's a WAY more functional normie than me and coasted through her life so far but there's an ice barrier around her thoughts constantly. I ask her basic, BASIC questions like "how are you feeling right now/about this conversation" or prod for what her life goals are, like literally just "where do you want to be in 10 years" which is a question anyone asks right?? She just shuts down and freaks out. Even more so asking about like, if she thinks about if there's a god or not, shit like that. All she has is the canned reply of "Of course not" but there was no internal dialogue tree within herself to add nuance to the answer.Should I tell her she needs therapy for what happened in our childhoods or what?? She feels like a ticking time bomb for mid life crisis or even mid 20s crisis in a couple years. Before anyone says she's 80iq or something, she is and always has been a universal A+ student and even had a test in early childhood for her IQ which is supposedly super high. Not autistic because whenever I see her with her with friends she's the most outgoing person ever, so naturally talkative and not awkward but I nail her down for any conversation below surface level and the mask crumbles into dust

i have fingered a baby babushka in her car once
That's how most people are. They don't have deeper thoughts on why things are what they are. Lately see it a lot in drug laws. It's illegal because it's illegal, from ministers of countries. It's just following the pact and performing tasks needed. It's easy to be like that. I am sometimes too with some topics
