Plus in this generation it's difficult to actually have time to raise your kids. I personally think this is a very underrated aspect of the modern economy that people don't talk about. Historically the vast amount of people were farmers working for themselves at home. Even those who were not worked close to home and virtually all exceptions were wealthy. This means that most of the time it was easy to supervise and have a relationship with your kids and work at the same time; heck, the kids were usually helping you, and if this didn't apply to you, you're rich enough to hire a nanny. This is impossible nowadays dor young people, unless you are extremely rich as a young man and can afford for your wife to stay at home raising the kids. Otherwise both parents have to work and kids go to daycare, and at that point, it's like you hardly have kids at all
