I realize retrospectively that in terms of interspecies communication she might not have realized that the intensity with which I expressed that sentiment was a reflection of my own appreciation of the abstractions of valor and self-denial, rather can a crude attempt to effect discipline upon her. But I just rolled over on my back and thereby communicated "not-a-threat" to her and then pet her when she approached so we're good
