Animals are our friends and don't need to be our food. Please try and limit your animal consumption where you can or try to be as ethical as you can if you must consume it. They don't need to live such bad lives to die. They have feelings. They are aware of the cruelty they are living and how cruel it is when their lives are cut short.
>>
if it makes you feel better id eat human meat if people were farmed too

I do actually want to become a vegetarian but it just seems pointless and futile.

I don't want children, don't care about the future of this planet and doubt the possibility of vegetarianism making a practical impact.

Yet I don't want animals to suffer.

idk

Chimpanzees torture monkeys before eating them. And they're in Africa. So are you saying things Africans do are bad? RACIST
>>
>>82469336
cows slaughter the grass in the same way as we slaughter the cows. ever heard of something called the laws of nature? moron

>I do actually want to become a vegetarian but it just seems pointless and futile.
I know it's hard and nobody is perfect, but every bit in your life will count towards avoiding a domesticated animal from suffering. You may not see it, but it does help. No difference then picking up your own trash and not just throwing it on the street.

>>82469355
The difference is that those are not domesticated. They were not created by humans and/or they are not animals that we are responsible for caring for.
>>
>>82469369
Domestication of animals is against nature.
>>
>>82469336
anthropomorphizing your food is weird. there are more and less ethical ways to butcher an animal or perhaps you could be more ethical about which source/distributor you choose based on their method of farming, but there is literally nothing about consuming food that is ethically ambiguous. you're just eating food. having eating disorders and fad dieting because you feel uncomfortable about where food comes from is still a mental disorder.
>>
>>82469400
ants domesticate aphids
some reef fish have domesticated shrimp
>>
>>82469353
All I have asked is for people to please avoid consumption of domesticated animals where possible. The lives our food industries have created for them are extremely cruel and if the doors were open and the public saw how they were treated, everyone would truly be horrified.
>>
>>82469400
Using a computer is against nature too!
>>
Not my heckin animalarinos who eat each other all of the time
>>
>>82469406
If animals were raised in conditions that were not cruel and they were able to life long lives before being butchers I would not have much problem with it. I would see it as no different to people donating organs when they die.

Wanting animals to avoid cruel lives that we create for them is not a mental illness. Being completely aware and knowing how cruel your food is currently raised, treated and then choosing to ignore it would be considered a mental illness.
>>
>>82469412
What is the logical conclusion of your retarded brain farts. How else do you feed populations of the size we have today? Guess we're going to have to collapse civilization and have gigabrains like you decide who gets to live and die because you are sad about factory farming
>>
>>82469428
Just the heckin animals we created to live in cruel conditions, live short lives to be cruelly slaughtered. Not the heckin animals living out in the wilderness that we didn't have any hand in creating.
>>
>>82469431
dont think for a second that another species wouldnt do the same to you if they gained the upper hand
>>
>>82469440
>How else do you feed populations of the size we have today?
Brainlet is unaware of how much food waste we have as humans and what the levels of obesity we are at world wide.
>>
>>82469431
I wasn't talking about wanting animals to avoid cruel lives. That is a good thing. I also want animals to avoid cruel lives. And I respect that you understand the food supply chain and want your food to be guilt free. But you objectively and literally ignore a billion trillion quadrillion global injustices and unethical things every day, having a mentally ill relationship with your FOOD (which is no longer an animal in a cage) is mentally ill. The entire premise for eating disorders and having the problem at the dinner table with food specifically is much more personal and emotional than it has to do with ethics or cultural norms. Restrict your own diet and calories as a preference, but if it's driven by guilt or shame, get help. And maybe go save a few animals if you're hyperfixated on animals.

If we want to breed and raise animals for food, they should be living long lives in conditions that let them be happy. Not short cruel lives where they live in stress and fear.

Mmmm, that meat is looking really tasty. Nice and plump in the right places, cant wait to turn that hog into bacon

Womp womp for nature for make us evolve to the point where we raise and harvest animals on industrial scale. Better luck next time.
>>

i love meat but this made me sad desu. not gonna stop eating meat tho lol.
>>
>>82469336
Religions tell people not to eat pork because hogs are too close to us in animal kingdom also it's full of parasites but fat retards don't care anyways. Everything dies and all life is suffering you're not going to get the trash apes we call humans to stop eating animals anon just let it go.
>>
>>82469336
If we don't need them for food wouldn't there be a mass culling of a population of animals that can't live without us and no one wants or needs to feed?
>>
>>82469633
That's part of the conundrum of this kind of advocacy. If we stop eating meat and dairy. Most pigs, cows and chickens will go extinct immediately. Some farm animals may reassimiliat into the wild though. Wild boars still exist but pink pigs like OP will be extinct.
>>
>>82469336
Not every animal is caged in like that. That's America. Here in Norway it's humane and they roam free
>>
>>82469336
Animals are food, pigs are bacon and sausage, beef is beef and chicken is Asian approved.
>>
>>82469336
I already don't eat pork >:]
>>
>>82469336
You ain't never lived on a pig farm I take it. If you did you would notice what I'm talking about, when I say that you cannot sleep around pigs. They will try to fucking eat you. And they certainly do not have to be starved for a couple of days, you only think that because of that dumb fucking movie Snatch

Human beings simply cannot be healthy without meat.

That being said, factory farming is bad for a multitude of reasons, one of them being that the meat is low quality and toxic. There is nothing wrong with buying meat from a local farm that doesn't abuse its animals, or from hunting for your own meat.

Living past your reproductive prime is against nature. Basically only humans do because we outwitted it. Before homo sapiens started to have signs of surgeries and herbal concoctions, they did not live past 30. Neither any homininds before them.

Also animals are not our friends. They are only our friends when domesticated on farm because they give - we give symbiosis. Without that framing, animals are our enemies and competition for resources on earth. If cows weren't in barns they would be eating your corn and wheat you grew up in sweat in blood. Deers are a big issue for eating crops in a lot of places.
>>
>>82469629
The best cultures eat pork. The worst cultures shun pork.

>Living past your reproductive prime is against nature. Basically only humans do because we outwitted it. Before homo sapiens started to have signs of surgeries and herbal concoctions, they did not live past 30. Neither any homininds before them.
This is such intense bullshit it's almost laughable. First of all, plenty of animals live past reproductive age. Watch any nature show about chimps, lions, whatever. You know what those animals do? They defend their children and grandchildren to the death, because they know on some level they won't be reproducing anymore, so their best evolutionary strategy is to protect their descendants at all costs.

Secondly, the reason we used to have such short AVERAGE lifespans is because of high infant mortality, which skews the average. Humans who lived beyond infancy were likely to live into old age barring deadly accidents.

Do you just go on the internet and spew lies for a living, or what?
>>
>>82469336
i'm gonna have to give up pork at some point. cows aren't smart like pigs, chickens certainly not. pigs will savage their young for fear of what we'll put them through. they're just too witting.
>>
I only eat cruelty free / grass fed meats
>>
>>82469336
going to eat more animals because of this post. was gonna cook a sirloin tonight, but i think ill do ribs with it as well!
>>
>>82469336
It's sad that farmed animals don't even get to enjoy fucking, it's all artificial insemination. You'd think the bare minimum would be letting them enjoy that, but they don't even get that.
>>
>>82469336
Just build up lab grown meat. No amount of pity bait will stop everyone from eating meat. You need an alternative that works.
>>
A wild boar would eat you alive if given the chance.
but it would not farm you.
maybe we should only eat wild animals who have lived a full life, farming doesnt seem very sporting or respectful.
>>
>>82474333
It would farm you if it could
>>
>>82469336
eating animals is fine but it's our duty to minimize their suffering as much as possible
