Whites are typically more focused on modesty, politeness, and reservedness. We don't like to make waves if we don't have to.

They are less expressive not necessarily less emotional. White culture just admonishes open emotion. Being open is only appropriate if you are a child, and even then, not always. As an adult you should keep it all in and not bother others.
