>wbu?
i'm alright. work went well, i think. bit frustrated with some design decisions in silksong, though. nothing that would make me stop playing the game, but there's a lot of stuff that's just annoying.

>how's the project coming along?
I haven't given up yet :D
>found anthing yet?
old tv shows
>did you?
a little bit and now I'm watching stuff
>wanna talk about why?
yeah people around me just jump to conclusions without looking for any evidence or arguments proving what they think is true, and they're are unable to say they don't know something
There was a fire at my building again and instead of going to the place across the street that has cameras and asking to see the footage people here just decided it has to be arson, then patted themselves on the back about how smart they are and that they should be working for the police and stopped their "investigation" at that
>work went well,
that's a first ;3
jk, I'm glad it did
and it friday tomorrow
>bit frustrated with some design decisions in silksong,
why? are they unintuitive or too difficult?
>>
>>82472335
>how's ur health doing?
it's alright. docs weren't able to help me though, so i'm on my own in that regard.

>I haven't given up yet :D
that's all that counts. ^^

>old tv shows
what are those about?

>a little bit and now I'm watching stuff
anything you could share?

>going to the place across the street that has cameras and asking to see the footage
must be hard for you being the only one around with any common sense. i don't think it's worth getting involved yourself or angry about, but it's not like we can control emotions like that.

>that's a first ;3 jk, I'm glad it did
well, boss isn't there and we're cleaning and organizing the place. even the customers are commenting on how orderly the place is.

>and it friday tomorrow
luckily i don't have work tomorrow. have to go on saturday, though.

>why? are they unintuitive or too difficult?
pretty much both. exploring in this game is extremely punishing. even more so than bosses. everything does tons of damage and it jumps you on every opportunity. it's also always frustrating when i know that i won't ever be able to get all achievements. just a lot of small things that add up and up. now i'm stuck on a boss that just attacked me out of nowhere while i wanted to go through an area i cleared before. wanted to stock up on something and boom, bossfight. thanks, i guess. and you never just can fight the boss again, you always have to get there from the last bench you rested on and that often means you enter the fight already damaged.

like a game of telephone

nope sorry, it's all in a different language
are you looking for something to watch?
>don't think it's worth getting involved yourself or angry
I'm not really getting angry, I'm not emotional but I am just sorta disappointed ig
When I was younger I'd see people doing that and thought they must be experienced and know what they're talking about but nope, it was all just false and empty confidence
Lots of stuff like that happened during covid, someone at the pharmacy told my mom that the virus is from chemtrails and that's why it spreads so fast so masks are useless, and she didn't question a single thing and just told me that there must be something to it because people wouldn't believe it otherwise
>even the customers are commenting on how orderly the place is.
ooaa you must've done an exceptionally good job then!!
you should get a raise
>don't have work tomorrow.
woooo-
>have to go on saturday
- oo...
well do you think it'll be a chill day?
>pretty much both. exploring in this game
oh
I wonder what other people say
do they dislike those things too?
How did i look on the original?
and wanna talking more about the things you domt like? I'm all ears
>>
>>82473741
>at least you don't have a cold ig :<
that's true. ^^

>like a game of telephone
i see. old polish game shows again? i think we might have had something similar. there were two teams and they'd take turns trying to describe a word to their team mates. first candidate would face the host and receive the word, then he had to turn around to tap the next member on the shoulder (the other members were wearing headphones and had to turn away), describe it and if that member of the team got it correct, they had to do the same until every member guessed it. it was a weird time.

>are you looking for something to watch?
not actively, but i feel like i could be in need for something when i'm done playing. this game is hard work.

>I am just sorta disappointed ig
i feel you. you kinda see everything falling apart around you, but can't do anything to prevent it or even muster the energy to try.

>someone at the pharmacy told my mom that the virus is from chemtrails and that's why it spreads so fast so masks are useless
at least it they weren't denying that it exists. that's one step above most people i had similar talks with.

>there must be something to it because people wouldn't believe it otherwise
for some weird reason people would rather believe all sort of retarded shit than except truth and facts.

>you must've done an exceptionally good job then!!
not at all. we're just not letting it deteriorate to the point our boss does. he's clearly in way over his head, but he insist on working alone a lot of the time (to save on salaries), but he just can't deal with it and we have to make up for it but can't in the time we have.

>you should get a raise
that goes without saying. ;D

>well do you think it'll be a chill day?
today was, but who knows what saturday will bring? i sure don't.

>do they dislike those things too?
i've read similar opinions. it deserve the praise it gets, but the criticism is fair as well. at least how i see it.
>>
>>82474092
>then he had to turn around to tap the next member on the shoulder
exactly :D
wow you can read my mind? I didn't know
>could be in need for something
don't have anything really to send sorry :<
>see everything falling apart
more like it was always broken
I just couldn't see it
>some weird reason people would rather believe
they just wanna believe what most people around them believe I think
>who knows what saturday will bring? i sure don't.
well let's leave worrying about that for when it comes
for you have have a whole friday in fornt of you
>deserve the praise it
I've just seen people saying it's cute
and I agree!

bed time now, goodnight bud
>>
>>82473741
>How did i look on the original?
hard to say. it's been a few years since i played it. i had similat frustrations, but i don't think it was as bad as in this one. i didn't finish the dlc, though. it was just a bunch of arenas where you fight waves of monsters and bosses you've fought before and i never thought that the fighting in that game was it's strongest aspect. that would go to art direction and exploration.

>and wanna talking more about the things you domt like? I'm all ears
hm. maybe that the game doesn't explain any of it's mechanics to you. i think there some sort of parrying mechanic, but i'm not sure and so far i didn't even bother to try. i also feel that all the side weapons the game gives you are just traps. at least for me. if i use them, it completely fucks up my flow, so i just use basic attacks and the items that make those attacks stronger. also magic and healing use the same resource, so i never use the magic and always just save it for healing. basically everything they give you as reward for exploring is pretty much useless (that tends to be how it is in most metroidvanias, though). oh yeah, been playing for 30 hours and just realized you can dash downwards. not sure if that helps me at all, but you can.

it's not easy to stop especially if the reason you do it is still present in your life
When was the last time you relapsed?
Just remember that you shouldn't expect yourself to not cut ever again, what you should focus on is not cutting today and leave worrying about tomorrow for tomorrow
and also making the times between relapses longer and longer

>>82479777
>maybe it's time to replay it? :3
after silksong i'll definitely need a break from any kind of metroidvania. maybe in a few more years. the way i play these games is very exhausting.

>I wonder if there are any games similar to this that are pretty much just exploration
don't get me wrong, i like fighting in these games, but there's games that do it better. can't think of any right now, but i'm sure there are. i do think it could work, though.

>so how do people usually figure them out?
i guess the intend is figuring it out by playing, which is fair, but then you usually just stick with what's been working for you since the beginning and ignore the options the game's giving you later on.

>maybe that's why the fights feel so boring
you basically have to strike at the same time the opponenz does and the attacks cancel each other. i'm sure i could use that to my advantage sometimes, but usually senseless flailing gets the job done way better. and i wouldn't call the fights boring. they are very intense, but so intense that i just get punished for trying out other things. i suppose everyone finds their playstyle and stick with it, but that's another issue. the different movesets you can find are far apart and i think you can just miss them, so if i hadn't epxlored as much as i did i might still be stuck with a moveset i absolutely hate. and even if i find one i like better, i don't know if it's worth it to switch after playing for so many hours.

>like me realizing in hl2 clicking g is a shortcut to take out the gravgun not long ago
huh. you'd think it would throw a grenade, but i don't know if there are any in hl2, so i guess they wanted to at least use the button for something? then again, the gravgun was the big thing at the time. gotta show off the physics in the game.
>>
>>82481648
good evenin fren
how's it going?
I worked a little on a project though I didn't do much and I'm also thinking about watching some anime
I remembered how much of a good time I had the last time was binging welcome to NHK and so I'm thinking about watching cowboy bebop
>didn't realize the thread survived :0
who would've thought huh :3
>guess i was wrong after all... ^^'
dw it was super weak
I basically felt a little chill but it went away and I sorta like having a feaver anyway
>definitely need a break from any kind of metroidvania
that's okay
you can play other games
>ignore the options the game's giving you later on.
but I guess it could be argued as a user issue not a game issue
>, but usually senseless flailing gets the job done
tried and true ^^
>would throw a grenade, but i don't know if there are any in hl2
there are grenade but it's not a game you'd expect have shortcuts
>least use the button for something
it's useful to catch grenades mid air and throw them back
>>
>>82482109
>how's it going?
not bad, but didn't do much. i just gamed today. but i think i'm done with that.

>I worked a little on a project though I didn't do much
convincing yourself to sit down and put in some work is half the battle and important to make it a habit. well done.

>and so I'm thinking about watching cowboy bebop
it's a classic, but you need to be in the right mood for it. it's a bit like bladerunner in the regard. hope you like it.

>I basically felt a little chill but it went away and I sorta like having a feaver anyway
can't say i like it, but at least it beats being sore all over. that's the worst symptom for me. glad it's not so bad for you.

>you can play other games
true. just bought space marine 2 since it was on sale. :> first real test for my pc, but i've heard that unoptimzed unreal engine 5 can be a bit rough on the hardware. let's see how it'll go.

>it could be argued as a user issue not a game issue
that's true, but at this point i know how i want to play games and i think a lot of people agree. in blasphemous you had one weapon and one way to play the game. in blasphemous 2 you had three weapons and constantly had to switch between them and i guess so many people complained about not having the sword from the first game that they put it in the second and also made it so you can use it instead of the other weapons abilities. same with silksong. it's more and different for the sake of it being a sequel, not because it was needed. i think i come across as more negative than i actually am. it's just that so many games are falling into this trap and it's a bit annoying

>there are grenade but it's not a game you'd expect have shortcuts
i suppose that's true, but i just thought that's basic fps controls, but it's quite an old game at this point and you never know when certain standards were introduced.

>it's useful to catch grenades mid air and throw them back
new skill unlocked. :]

>so what u gonna do?

>understandable considering you work and work out
well, not when i'm that sick. ^^

>hope you like it
thanks. i had a good time with the first game. let's see if my sequel-complaint holds up.

>why do they never optimize :c
time restraints would be my guess. and it doesn't sell as many copies as some flashy graphics. though games like repo, peak and now silksong shattered that narrative quite thoroughly.

>so what would you overall rating be?
hard to say. it's a good game and, as you said, my gripes with it are rather personal. 7-8/10 with a "wouldn't recommend to people who haven't played the genre before" caveat.

>I always thought of it as a battlefield thing
i'd say it's been in counter strike since the beginning, wasn't it?

my gf is being super distant with me and this is the first actually goof relationship ive ever had and watching her probably lose interest is slowly killing me and I don't know what to do, its so hard to get through the days and I fucking hate it , I just wish she would tell me why and stop avoiding me , I feel like that stupid picture of a rabit holding a clock (pic rel) with the caption all roads lead to rome or time tells no lies or wtv bc I am truly unlovable and I will fuck up a good thing by being myself and idk why its so hard to have her , why is she slipping through my fingers , why can't she just come back to me or give me a clean break and tell me or something
