Is it not normal not to feel so passionate about politics? Like how do people reach a point where they are cheering the death of Kirk or when they get really upset of the slain ukraine girl? Is part of my brain missing where I am supposed to feel angry about politics in general? Is this a sign of low T or just being desensitized to humanity? Feeling like this in general makes it really easy for me to talk with people from both sides (though, i'd consider myself left leaning); it takes a lot to get me angry and energized. So which is it?
you're compartmentalizing real life as "politics" the two events you mentioned are not dissections of policy decision or mid-terms or gerrymandering or congress numbers they are murders which are sensationalized because they resonate with the public as markers of the current pulse of humanity. if you don't care about humanity are are a nihilist who just likes anime and vidya yes that is not normal
>>82474828>two events you mentioned are not dissections of policy decision reactions to both events are a reflection of the political climate and which side policies have landed individuals> if you don't care about humanity I'd say I do, but I don't care enough to get angry about certain events. Maybe because I think nothing will happen. >anime and vidya yes that is not normalI don't even like either. I prefer music, reading, or following the sciences (sounds extremely gay typing that).
>>82474793it's not human
>>82474793Its just because its not your ass on the line, most people are selfish anyway, some day something political worthy will happen that deeply harms your ass and you will become very passionate about politics
>>82474793It's normal. Or, at least, it used to be before the interwebs. It's hard to pick a side to care about when they both lie cheat and steal to get what they want out of you and constantly try to instrumentalize and own you and your thoughts for power.Politics are always for politicians/activists and against the masses, against you as an individual. I respect people who enjoy science, because once you get past the academia BS, scientists don't typically try to buy your thoughts or harmonize you with a political group. Hence why, I'd imagine, you like 4chan. Everything is anonymous here. People still try to sell you shit, sure, but there's no individual power, updoots, money, or even friendships to actually be had here, so people just say what they want. No systemized AI slop. No clickbait. No shadow bans. Here, we are human, not tools. We are free to post and fight our wars for ourselves. The information presented here comes to us without making demands of us. You won't lose your career or get a career here, and everything is more or less consensual thanks to the website's inscrutable basic bitch design. To not be political is to be sane. People like you mean we're healing. You're capable of real empathy, the kind with nuance and love for your enemies that the human condition is at its best known for rather than just politicians' use and manipulation of your feelings and thoughts to dehumanize and be violent to anyone of the opposing tribe you're supposed to hate.
>>82474793It is worthless to think about it more in depth than just what it is, a game of powers where you don't have a choice, all that happens around is meaningless to me and hopefully to you as well, another death of a somewhat powerful person that deep down doesn't possess any power whatsoever, another death of an innocent caused by someone unwell, all meaningless events that puppets create whole narratives around, nothing is correct, the world around me bothers me deeply yet it's not worth to live by with hatred, just live by, the exit will be worth it once it gets unbearable but as of now I can still live. and about the real politics, also try to be apathetic towards that, waging wars on information and attention, so much bullshit to try and keep you distracted, picking one side or the other without realizing that both sides are wrong and there is another evil, it's not worth it to care about none of that from the perspective of a normal civilian, especially one that lives far away from that meaningless bullshit
>>82475110>Its just because its not your ass on the line, most people are selfish anyway, some day something political worthy will happen that deeply harms your ass and you will become very passionate about politicsNot OP, but this isn't true. Politics are inherently exploitative and seek to instrumentalize you and others. You don't have to exert your will over other people's minds and be a crazed activist or sleazy politician with talking points to make change. In fact, you do a better job of it when you are kind or funny or an actually real person and FORCE the other side to see you as human and care about your pain because you can vibe with them. Politics is a regulatory and dividing force. It's here for us to war with eachother so that the people running the show can get their fix. It's not so that we can be messy humans together and actually move on from politics. Politics are designed, on purpose, to never fix the problems they benefit from. You know what would fix the problem? If we took every right and left politician, locked them each in a room with eachother for 6 months, and made them have fun together and get to know eachother personally. Make them do drugs. Make them have sex. Do whatever it takes to make them bond and understand the other person as a human.
