Women think of themselves as the protagonists of a movie, other people being merely replaceable props. You, as a man, might be a right fit for the current play, but once it's over, your contract is ended and a new movie will begin to film in the stage of her life.

Being a man is coming to terms with this and realizing that their love is always transient and will eventually expire, even if for the pettiest and ficklest of reasons, after which they will feel 100% nothing for you anymore, since you no longer serve a purpose or bring utility.

There is no escape from this. You have to love yourself really strongly to not rope out, especially after building a life and a family with them.
