The Diamond Industry is collapsing because millennials and zoomers refuse to marry. Are you happy with yourselves??
>>82550776I guess they should lower the price.
>>82550828Adam smith you genius
>>82550776Yes.The only thing cringier than getting married is to put a rubber band on your finger instead of a ring like the millenials do.
>>82550776The diamond industry is collapsing because lab-grown gemstones are better quality for far less cost and because everyone who isn't a braindead Gen X or Boomer knows that the cultural standard of a diamond engagement ring is quite literally a psyop invented by De Beers.
>>82550776Quite so! I hope that demonic industry goes to shit and diamonds return to their humble industrial work. Thanks for putting a smile on my face today OP
>>82550776no it's because men are too cheap now and they do stuff like this >>82550860 instead of actually proving his commitment and then people wonder why divorce is so common now but men literally aren't even willing to spend money on a ring or the wedding like what a terrible way to start your marriage by your husband saying your not worth it
>>82550869>nooo! You have to go thousands of dollars into debt for small shiny rock!>how can you really show you love her if you dont spend thousands of dollars on small shiny rock noooo!>you fucking kids are literally crashing the economy by not spending money you don't have on small shiny rock!!!
>>82550776>>82550828>>82550839Debeers literally has a monopoly on diamonds, they'd basically be worthless if the company didn't artificially restrict supply Boohoo some Corp can't fleece people anymore
>>82550869This is the real answer. It's not that less people are wedding, it's that an entire generation in debt has realized there's no actual reason to spend thousands and thousands on just the ring when the living space for that couple, the appliances + furniture it will need, and all the related bills, are all way too expensive. Where older gens would put $20-30k into the ring and wedding events, current gens either don't even have that kind of money or wisely put it toward their home and future instead.
>>82550869Silicon Carbide (moissanite) actually looks better than diamond, since it's double-refractive. It's just below diamond in hardness, and it's much more durable. It'd be cool if they sold doped ones that could light up, like a SiC LED.
>>82550776Diamonds aren't rare. It was a marketing campaign in the 1920s by the (((De Beers)))) company to artificially inflate the price of them. They are found all the time while mining and are extremely common.
>>82550776The diamond industry is collapsing because diamonds are a scam and are intrinsically worthless and people are waking up to this. Also lab produced diamonds are almost indistinguishable from natural diamonds, only a trained expert can tell the difference with a microscope. The market is now being flooded with lab produced diamonds as they can be made quickly and cheaply. For less than 10k you can buy the machine from Alibaba and produce your own lab diamonds.
>>82550776>The Diamond Industry is collapsingEggman destroyed the institution of marriage and this guy destroyed the diamond industry.
>>82550776Seriously? Yeah, that does make me happy. I'm happy to be the problem.
>>82550776if it means diamondjews will be out of a job im glad
>>82550776Diamonds are worthless. Scrap carbon fit only for industrial applications. Diamond jewlery is for fools.
>>82551295>only a trained expert can tell the difference with a microscopeAnd the way they tell is that the natural diamonds are worse
I didn't get my fembot fiance a diamond ring, I got her a stone that is nicer and personalized to her, not some shitty clear see through carbon that is easily mass produced
>>82550776If diamonds were so abundant then why do we need to artificially make them? It would also be impossible to have a monopoly on them if that was also the case.
>>82550776Oh noooooo some faggot company cant wring wealth out of the public with a product thats not needed in any way whatsoever but that they convince you that you HAVE to buy cuz THEY forced the tradition 100 years ago? Say it aint so
>>82551737>why do we need to artificially make themBecause of the margins Real diamonds have impurities that give it certain spectrum properties and have slight imperfections or differences in their structure. It would be accurate to say that the artificial diamonds are "more perfect."Better margins on artificial diamonds. Real diamonds are plentiful, it's just more expensive to get them out of the ground than growing them.
My ex said she was fine with a synthetic emerald with a sterling silver ring instead of gold. I should've held onto her because most women are materialistic as fuck.
>>82551799It's wild to think that something that's artificial and in better condition than the real thing somehow costs less. Really gets the old noggin joggin.
In my car club we lost a lot of guys over the years because they had to sell their racecars to buy engagement rings. Why the hell would you want to wear a $20k-$40k ring? Why would you even pay so much for a thing that you just wear and look at? Inb4 poorfag well yeah if you have to sell a thing to buy a thing then maybe you can't afford the thing.
>>82550776I'm out here trying, but these women want shit like a house, a stable career, a big cock. Talk to them about it, not me
>>82551862they also put a huge "mug me" sign on your fiancee
>>82550776this is goodthis will decrease the profits made by western mining corporations who exploit the labor of african children
>>82551900Funny how they convince us we need a thing which then gets stolen violently by the ones they imported for slave labor. Peculiar.
>>82550776Diamonds are worthless. We can make them better and cheaper in labs and they no longer hold the significance as a dowry or proof of ownership in the modern era. The industries that sell them have a vested interest in making them seem like some important item in the ritual of marriage or relationships, but I'd much rather receive something personal or handcrafted as a symbol of love than some shiny rock status symbol to impress materialistic strangers I'll never care about.
>oh no the goyim aren't buying our worthless rocks
So much coping in this thread I love it. Im unironically going to buy a diamond pinky ring later.
>>82550776>>82552287The diamond industry isn't collapsing at all. There is always interest in the bigger and fancy coloured stones, and for some melee diamond or other stone set brand watches. The history carried by the big names and jewellery has the same weight and importance as the history and artifacts of rulers, kings and religion as it is intertwined with one another. Also it is possible to distinguish synthetics from natural stones and no, they are not better, just cheaper and pretty much uninteresting except from a scientifical point of view. I think it's cool men manage to reproduce or find ways to imitate how nature does things. Also people who afford gemstones look for the occurrence of it being created by nature, they carry a little bit of history of what is hidden inside earth's mantle. There a lot of diamonds ina way because the techniques used to find them have vastly improved and they tend to be now a secondary product of other ore or material mining, but I challenge to try and look for one in nature to see if it is that easy to find..Also jewellery and status symbols has existed since the beginning of mankind. If you value human history, it's not a part that is easily dismissed. And I personally think people that offer things, may it be food, clothes as symbol of love is great too. I personally find the artistic and precision work of jewellery and watch making intriguing and the esthetic that comes out of it can be impressive.
>>82551079The Chinese can manufacture diamonds with no flaws now too. These jews can only cope and seethe.
>>82550869Plus more people know they've been hoarding diamonds to inflate the price They are a lot more common then they would have you believe
>>82553856Don't care about your chink astroturfing either fuck off
>>82550776A lot of african nations are hit hard as well.
>>82553883Thing about diamonds and gemstones is there are no feasible value scale such as it is possible with precious metal. There are the 4C's for diamond which help in determining some type of value, but it is not regulated by a state authority.Meaning that without a formal scale of value people feel like it's a scam or sketchy while the materials may be rarer than precious metals for instance. And truth is I find this grey area quite interesting. It is value that stays a little outside of state control.States have being hoarding gold and other precious metals too.. Yet the price is going up (and sometimes down) and people trust this investment. Because it has it's value regulated by states.
>>82550776I want to make diamonds from their ashes and give it to the girls in a rose gold cross. A shiny light to our brothers in arms, even in death.
>>82554280Nothing more beneficial to them then the collapse of shit like diamond prices because its another way western corporations a exploit them like other rare earth minerals
>>82550869You don't understanding I NEED Congolese blood diamonds otherwise I won't know that my boyfriend loves me
>>82554388>boyfriendGAY
>>82553834Lot of words to say you're a diamond kike
>>82550869It also has to do with the norms around commitment and divorce. A wedding ring used to be a dower - a man bought his fiance expensive jewelry in part to say "If I die or leave, you'll be able to sell this and help yourself out". Now you can get a divorce at-will, and a lot of women do!>>82551844It's not strange at all. People have always been willing to pay a premium for "the real thing", even when it's inferior in quality.
>>82553834Great post wasted on 4chan
