i like this guys channel but the fact that he has phd in his name makes me like him less. Am i just a bitter retard?

Over educated people have more mental tools to delude themselves into thinking they are right. If you say the sky is blue they will want you to provide a study to prove it.
>>
>>82674236
Hate to be rude but, yeah kinda. Disliking someone purely for their credentials appears very bitter.

The reason for this is because the more you learn about a particular subject, and the more complicated it gets, the more you realize that "common sense" ain't enough to thoroughly explain a statement even if it does seem obvious at first. You need supporting evidence to fortify your arguments, even if your arguments are simple, which can be annoying to anti-academic types but still comes from a reasonable place.

No, it's normal. He is showing off. Why does having a phd matter in a YouTube channel? There a people with phd who are dumb. Having a phd doesnt make him more right or wrong

I'm not going to quote richard feynmans' work on refraction to prove the sky is blue, but thanks for proving my point.

Everyone on this board is a bitter retard, retard.

Yeah that kind of anti-intellectualism is exactly the problem, as I explained in the post you're replying to. What I find strange and interesting is the underpinned revulsion toward these types of conversations in place of mere apathy. Why does the idea of having to explain yourself in depth piss you off? Why aren't you just disinterested?
>>
>>82674510
The first problem with your argument is you haven't proven that anti-intellectualism exists or even what it is or how to identify someone suffering from this affliction, without establishing this baseline there can be no common framework for this discussion.
>>
>>82674236
he's appealing to credibility so that he can draw in and keep more viewers.
i guess marketing makes you angry.
>>
>>82674236
It makes sense to market yourself that way same as people having MD in their name but it does look a little douchy

Because your initial complaint made it seem like you were talking about interactions within the contexts of academia or specialized interests. Not just talking on 4chan. Which is why what you're doing with this comment doesn't quite work.
