I've come to realize that the world is the way that it is because most people are not really good. The masses are cowardly easily controlled NPCs at best, and that makes ideal conditions for evil people to run the show and do what they want. Its been that way since the beginning, a handful of psychos effortless guiding the many to fight wars, commit mass rape, enslave and kill at the slightest nudge. Good people who would do the right thing against all odds are truly the few.
