I had a project with a classmate that I didn't work on at all because I felt overwhelmed by the fact he wrote literal pages of an essay before I could even get in touch with him after the weekend and tried hiding when I thought we were supposed to present for the class. How should I confront and apologize to him?
>>82677046Tldr: Recognize you did wrong and express your sincere remorse/regret for it.Eg: "hey [name], I'm sorry about flaking out on our shared project together. I was [insert excuse; must be genuine and personal]." Then either "I don't expect forgiveness but I wanted to apologize for what I did" or "I hope we work together in the future." And finally "Thank you for everything."Just be genuine. It'll be fine, but if not then who cares.
>>82677144>"I don't expect forgiveness"this is way way too much. you flaked on a school project, you didn't rape his mother. just say sorry mate
>>82677144>Recognize you did wrong and express your sincere remorse/regret for it.HAHAHAHA Ok how about some realistic advice? Cause you know he ain't gonna do that.
>>82677208I have no gauge for that sort of thing, so thanks. I also have almost no personal interactions to learn how to properly navigate that part of socializing. I've only been interacting with others via email for a while now.>>82677434I think posting anonymously is a sign of either sincerety or a desire to play with ideas (via fictional scenarios). I have offered an answer which covers both bases.
