Many Chinese, actually, have pretty round/'open' eyes, which is not the same for Korean (north and south) or Japanese people. Japanese people, also for example, tend to have sleeker, smoother skin, while Korean faces tend to be rounder. Since her father worked in Hong Kong, it's likely she's canonically from Shenzhen, so her appearance (that is, rounder eyes) would make sense. Not the case if she were from Lanzhou or, say, Tianjin.
