>>where are you from?
Chile
>>what's living in your country like?
Idk, normal. Annoying commies, and it sucks to get all tech and new stuff later than the first world.
>>best and worst thing about your country
1st world standard of living in many places. Best country in the region.
Shipping prices suck.
>>
>>82678636
Can I be a third worlder if i'm a minority in a first world country?
>>
>>82678663
No you lost your turd world status by leaving your home country. If you aren't a citizen you aren't a first worlder either.
>>
>>82678636
>where are you from?
Argentina

>what's living in your country like?
very cool, best food in the world, nice weather and peaceful

>best and worst thing about your country
the city of Buenos Aires is the most beautiful in the whole world. economy sucks
>>
>>82678650
We also have the second fastest internet in the entire world, which is cool.
Sometimes I want to get the fuck out of here, and other tumes I get strong nationalist feelings.

>where are you from?
brazil
>what's living in your country like?
in the words of a brazilian dude who once lived in nyc for many years and then came back here...
it sucks, but it's great
>best and worst thing about your country
best thing? i think it's how warm hearted people are here
i moved from another state recently and everyone's been treating me kindly here, as if they knew me for years
the worst thing? i'd say how awfully managed the country is, there's so much wealth to go around, so many things that could be made better if there weren't lunatics trying to seize power nor literal fucking thieves stealing from the citizens
worst part about that is that it's already become part of the culture so it'll be hard to erase...
>>
>>82678676
I'm technically a citizen because I was born in a first would country.
>>
>>82678691
Then you're just a filthy first worlder. Out of the thread.
>>
>>82678650
How's the economy in chile? I heard it's pretty stable and you can progress there
>sucks to get all tech and new stuff later than the first world.
At least you get them relatively cheap, here in Argentina you have to pay a shitton of taxes and end up paying over x2 the international price
>>
>>82678650
Oh, worst thing about my country is def Venezuelans.
>>
>>82678702
Taxes are high. Particularly regressive taxes, like the tax on all goods which is around 19%.
Tbh, with the current leftoid government, the economy sucks. It's hard to get a job and prices rise literally every week. Monsters went from costing (the nominal equivalent of) 1.5 dollars to 2.2 dollars or more in a few months.
It's not as bad as other places in the region, and we recently experienced a boom in our stocks market.
Upper-middle class and up leave pretty well, comfortable, I'd say.
The unnecessary rise in prices along with the stagnation of wages is very concerning. Hopefully the next government will be right wing and fix some of it.

Caribbean immigration is insane as well. We basically have the same problem that the US does. Hundreds of thiusands of illegals crossing the border. Estimates say that the immigration experienced by us is the equivalent of the US recieving 70 million illegal immigrants.

Live.
Fuck me.
>>
>>82678702
Overall though, what you heard is true. My complaints about it are real. But it's also possible to progress and things don't seem on the verge of collapse all the time.
>>
>>82678761
Nice to hear that. My friend, my brother and I were considering moving there (or Uruguay) if shit goes south there in Argentina
>>
>>82678819
Argies usually adapt well since cultures aren't drastically different. So they're welcome if they want to come here.
>>
>>82678636
you can tell this graph was made by a turk because they don't include themselves in the second world despite the lira being more valuable as toiletpaper
>>

Have things got better since the new administration?
>>
>>82678974
meh, inflation has dropped significantly but wages are too behind, overall things haven't changed much
>>
>>82679085
Yeah, nobody is investing, sadly.

Brazil

I can't tell much about the country as a whole, but more about the city where I live. The streets are dirty and noisy. The society is too social for my taste (a social phobic introvert) and it's also new, extremely diverse (and yet a little bit segregated) and chaotically formed. It's hard and yet easy to belong to Brazil. But we also have good food and good education (if you have money or luck to enter the best institutions). The intelectual and artistic scene is vibrant.
All of this may come out simply as sparse comments, but it demonstrates how things are: similarly to my thoughts, Brazil is a big mosaic trying to reconstruc itself. Brazil isn't a sedimented country, but a place where many things can be put in conflict simply because this country is very new, as opposed to some older European countries.
>best and worst thing about your country
Best: food. Worst: people, specially those of lower class that I encounter in the streets, but people of middle/upper middle class can be really son of a bitch-y too.

Costa Rica
>what's living in your country like?
Idk, it's kinda nice sometimes, both weather and geography made for some nice horizons I guess, and the food is very good but the culture has been getting very shitty as of lately, but there's still kind people out there, and also the economy is kinda fucked up but eh.
>best and worst thing about your country
best- idk, it can be a very serene existence here sometimes and the landscape is beautiful.
worst- the economy and the fact that everything is getting gentrified could be a good option for worse thing but for me it has to be the fact that as in many other latin-american countries, it sucks to be an outcast since it's expected to be very social and that kind of stuff, especially with such a shit culture.

reading the ignorant opinion of a fellow chilean was eye opening.

19% is not high taxes. Most of the world has around 20-25% consumption tax.
