I have to go out to engage in a social interaction later, how do I cope with this? What should I do?

Say as little as possible. I find I'm too anxious and continue to think about all the things I said during the interaction, even if nobody else will. Less speaking = less chance of cringe. Hope this helps.

The BEST thing to do would be have a little drink beforehand, not too much. Just enough to soften the edges.
