My best friend just came to borrow 500$ from me even though he has a better job and makes more money than me. The thing is he has a bunch of kids, a crazy girlfriend, and is struggling to make ends meet because he has to pay very high rent, while I'm just living comfy at my moms place working an easy job and saving money.

This whole moment was kind of a confirmation for me and what I always knew, life is way easier if you avoid the normie traps like getting student load debt, having kids or moving out of your parents house. He did everything the "right" way, but has now been reduced to asking a virgin like me for rent money. Worst of all he look stressed to the bone, like he's aged 5 years in 6 months. The contrast of my simple carefree life with his almost made me feel guilty, but it also let me know that I was right to do my own thing.
