why does media portray men as more shallow materialistic and women as more romantic when it's the opposite?

because its not the opposite. romantic men are gay/feminine, and materialistic women are gay/masculing. I have never met a real man in my entire life who would call himself "romantic," it's only ever seen in shitty literature made for women and tranime for trans women. and not even japanese men relate to the tranime stuff, if you think thats just a cultural thing.
