Yeah that's definitely true. There's entire studies done on intrasexual competition. Men who can dominate other men can get laid by gaining high status amongst men, even if they are objectively not attractive. Women want security first and foremost I think. That can't be genetic security from Chad genes, or social financial security from a leader of men. And they want romantic security via commitment from all of them
