>OCD starting to get worseRecently even when i do something like wash my hands i instantly feel uncertain of whether i actually washed them so i'm stuck washing them for like an hourAnd that's just one part. I'm sick of showering for 6 hours at a time.I'm seriously considering going on the medication again even though it did nothing for me those few months i was on it.Maybe i'll ask for a higher dose
>>82867830isn't this just extreme paranoia?Maybe you need to accept the risk that you didn't wash them properly.Wash them until they look/feel clean.Accept the chance that you didn't wash them properly. What's the worst that could happen? You could get a bit ill or some specs of dirt could be spread about. As for showering, you're clothes are going to be washed eventually anyway, so it's ok if some dirt is left on you.
>>82867830>>82867891Also, if you hands are all wet, then you washed them. That observation is enough to tell you. You don't even need to dry them off, leave them wet as a reminder. After you've thought about it once, stop thinking about it; do other things.Accept it and if you did forget, just let yourself suffer the consequences.
>>82867830Why do you shower for six hours at a time? Why not set a 30 minute timer that goes off and lets you know, "Hey. You're done. You can come out now"My work also uses timers on our sinks for the same reason.Hope this helps, anon
>>82867891thats not at all how OCD works>>82867830really sorry you have to go through it anon, i wash my hands til they bleed fairly often and i understand how it feels
>>82867830take pictures bro. get your phone and take pictures. wash your hands then take a picture of the sink with some soap foam still in it. shower and take a picture of your steamy mirror. if you get concerned, check the photo timestamps on your phone and be reassured
